Double Posting

I guess I'm putting this here for to help the mod's out a bit. It seems like nearly every other thread I've visited tonight, there have been double-posts. Do you guys not understand what double-posting is, or what?

It's okay if you don't know what it means. When I first started coming here, I was oblivious, too. Not all forums ask that you not do this, but in the interest of keeping Lost-Forum neat and tidy, I thought I'd put this thread up to remind you guys what "double-posting" is and how to avoid doing it.

Below are examples of double-posting. Oh, and I'm not going to protect the identities of double-posters. Shame shame! Nyah!



Okay, now, if you find yourself in a situation where you've just posted in a thread and suddenly remember you wanted to add something else, keep in mind, you can EDIT your last post and add to it rather than starting a new post.



Okay, so now you guys know.... "and knowing's half the battle!"

Please be mindful of the forum rules. Whether you're new here or you're an LF Season One Veteran... you should probably consider reading or rereading the rules.

No, no, no, no I'm not "out to get anyone". I just wanted to address an ongoing problem that I keep running into.

Pink *hugs* I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble. I just want to better explain what double-posting is and the only way I could see to do that was to give screenshots of it. You just happened to have a double-post in the areas I had been in. It's nothing personal.

BTW: If you're one of the three people I "caught", you guys could go back to those particular posts and Edit them so that there is one post, rather than a double.

Hmmm I agree, it is annoying, but I think it's more annoying if diffrent people opens a new thread about the same subject in one week...

Oh no, it's fine, I don't usually double post, that was a VERY rare occurence, you were lucky to catch it

I only double-post if I need to bump my art thread or a challenge, but I usually ask someone else to bump, or like White said, if my last post was days ago. But I try to keep it to a minimum. Half the time, I don't even realize I do it, but I will to pay more attention to it.

Good idea, Liz. I can't believe I've never thought of that before. I don't think I've ever double-posted, though...
