I have a theory:
I think that the producers didn't put Vincent on the boat because he has something to do with the monster.
The producers said that Michael and Walt would not be shown very much, and so Vincent has something to do with the monster!

I just watched that last night. But that didn't make any sense as Vincent wasn't with the group going to the other side of the island. Maybe something that ended up on the cutting room floor?
