I absolutely love Evanescence. I think I wore out Fallen during my freshman and sophomore years in high school. LOL. I listened to it so much. But I still love them. They are my favorite band, them and Coldplay. I have a poster, a shirt, 3 CDs (Fallen, Anywhere but Home, and a mix of Origin songs). I am obsessed. I just need to go to one of their concerts!

Is anyone a fan of their early work? Or stuff other than that on "Fallen" ? They were just as amazing when they first started, I can't believe it took them so long to get popular. Some of my all time favorite Evanescence songs are Before the Dawn, Lies, Missing, Exodus, and Anything for You.

I think their early work wasn't as impressive as "Fallen". But they're still an enjoyable listen though, because they're Evanescence, lol. My fav songs from Origin are: "Where will you go", "Anywhere", "Lies", "Away From Me", and "Eternal".

I've got their album "fallen", and I'll probably get their new one when it comes out, but there's just something about them, that when I'm scanning my CD's for something to listen to, I skip it. I dunno what it is, but I haven't listened to it in the longest time.

They're definately good, and Amy is incredible, but eh, I can't bring myself to listen to it. Don't know why.

I guess it might be that it sounds kind of awkward mixing Amy's voice with thundering power chords and what not.

Did anyone else listen to The Open Door? It leaked over the internet a few weeks ago and I hate to say that I'm actually a bit disappointed. I'm not sayin the album is bad or anything (Hey, it's Evanescence so the album rules by default), but it's just the fact that my expectations were oh, so high. The Open Door (imo) is nowhere near Fallen, but still good nonetheless.

I actually think it's better than Fallen, I think it's a very brave album. Amy sounds really vulnerable, and her voice has gotten a lot better. I also really love the writing, it's refreshing. But I can understand that people don't like it, I do feel it might take some getting used to, but the more I hear it the better it sounds to me.

Edit: The concert was so friggin' good. It was so amazing. Being only about 15 feet away from Amy Lee was unbelieveable. And they played songs I didn't expect them to play, but I wanted them to- The Only One and Haunted. But wow. Such a great concert. :hyper:

Went to the concert yesterday, and to be totally honest, I was disappointed. They're really not that good live. I mean, I enjoyed it, but I honestly thought that the opening act (Revelation Theory) was better than Evanescence. I can't really put my finger on the why, but their stage presence just feels a bit...fake. :( And that new bass player (Tim something-or-other) just stood there looking moody (hehe) all night.
Nah, not the best show I've been to, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I liked Revelation Theory, but I don't think they were anywhere near as good as Evanescence. I thought the concert was great and they didn't really seem fake. But that's me.

I just went to the evanescence concert last night. We had mosh pit tickets and it was awesome! The atmosphere was pretty good, it started off a bit slow but really picked up by the end.

I hope they come back, it was money well spent for sure. :)

I'll try and post some photos if you wanna see. We couldn't take much because security was throwing anyone out who took a photo or filmed it. It sucked. :(

I'm a pretty big Evanescence fan myself, I've had the pleasure of meeting all the band members aside from Rocky. I even got one of Terry Balsamo's picks when I met him. :D

I'm sure you guys know about this picture, it's from a charity event from Amy's 'Out of the Shadows' which Josh Holloway attended. But I didn't see it anywhere in the thread, so thought it was worth a post.
