Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis

I watch SG-1 off and on (or whenever I catch it on scfi), but I just haven't gotten into Atlantis.

Haven't gotten into Atlantis? Awww....Atlantis is really great. I implore you to watch a couple episodes, really.

As to Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis in general, I love these programs! They're great...General Jack O'Neill is hilarious and snarky. He allows himself to appear dumb but he isn't. He might not know the details about various areas that Sam or Daniel know but when they explain things to him he gets the gist and make good decisions.

Dr. Daniel Jackson is the heart of the team. He always tries to find out different ways to figure out situations that make it so everyone wins. He's a diplomat, but a good one who is working for both sides, not just to get his side the best. He's also insanely smart and good at his job.

Teal'c is great, just great. Very Zen most of the time but you wouldn't want to make him angry. I've loved watching Teal'c the most throughout the years because he's subtlety changed. He has a fun, if not dry, sense of humour, he's very intelligent, he's honest, and very loyal.

Lt. Col. Samantha Carter is beautiful, smart, and talented. She definitely deserves to be Lt. Col., she knows how to lead her team. She's probably one of my favourite females on TV right now. She doesn't seem to have the greatest luck with guys though...let's hope that Pete survives though. I like Pete and the fact that he actually knows what she does probably helps as well. *sniff* Ye Gods, I remember when she was a Captain...*LOL*

I'd talk about the Stargate Atlantis team, but I think this is getting a little long and is possibly getting into fangirl territory. *LOL* I will say this though, I lovelovelove Snarky!Doctor Rodney McKay. :D:cool:

Rodney is awesome !!! I'm on a Stargate forum and most people don't like him - I can't for the life of me figure out why not ?!?!?!?!! he's got the funniest, best lines on the show, and delivers them with perfect timing.
I went to my first Comic Con a few months ago, and I can't wait to go to one where Rodney/David Hewlitt will be. he's very much the same in person, only without the snarky.

I love Teal'c, but Jack's my favorite. The snarkiness is great and he gets these looks on his face that make me laugh.

I never got into Stargate until the fifth season, what a great show that is. But to be honest I think Atlantis is the better show because it reminds me so much of the original Star Trek. Still SG1 is going to be No. 1 to some but for me Atlantis is my favorite show.

SG-1 won't be on much longer anyway. and I would say that Atlantis is better if M. Shanks were on it. (I've got it all figured out how to get him there, too)
plus they have to get rid of Dr. Weir. then it's the best !!

Sci-Fi Channel already ordered new seasons for both shows, and I wouldn't be surprised if SG1 gets another season.

I don't like the SG-1 plot lines as much as I liked the movie's plot...but how can you resist watching (for a little while, at least) when Richard Dean Anderson is on screen? *sighs melodramatically* He stole my heart as Macgyver, and he just has the best lines on the show. Love him! He's so hilarious!

Okay I'll bite, how will Daniel Jackson get into the Pegasus Galaxy? Is there anyway you can get Jonas Quinn to come with? *grins* Speaking of Jonas anyone else think that if he can be dragged away from Kelowna [his home planet, no da!] he'd make a good 4th for the SG-1 Team?

Also, gina, Stargate SG-1 is on at 8 PM and Stargate Atlantis is on at 9 PM, both on Fridays. :D

I started watching last season and had to rent the previous seasons, but I love this show. I don't like Pete but that's because I''m a Sam/Jack shipper.

I like both of these shows because they have strong female characters, that aren't afraid to get dirty. lol.

Most people I talk to don't like Atlantis, but I do, it's has a different tone then SG-1. but they have the same snarkyness with Dr. McKay. I don't like Shepard as much O'Neil but maybe he'll grow on me. But if Micheal Shanks were to join Atlantis I might like it more. :D

I don't like Dr Weir or the rainbow sun francks guy and half of the episodes have been boring this season hopefully it will pick up next season. As for sg-1 it has been great as ever.

Oh I love Atlantis! I have been such a fan of both Stargates, (almost makes me feel like a nerd sometimes) I am loving this season of SG1, can't wait for Ben Browder(Farscape) to join the cast!

Lost and Stargate Sg1 are my favourite shows of all times .I own all of Stargate seasons .
Jack is so cool ,he's my favourite but they are all great
They will make a 9 season without RDA but with Amanda Tapping(Sam) ,Michael Shanks(Daniel) but in my opinion 8 was the best

I love SG-1. X3 I never got into Atlantis. I watched the first episode, but I was never turned on. I have a problem with spin offs. o.o But if it is true that Richard Dean Anderson is leaving next season, then I would REALLY like Micheal Shanks to move to Atlantis. I am a major Jack/Daniel shipper. I hate Sam, I think she is very annoying (probably because she has a thing for Jack). XP I didn't like Jonas too much, either. So if they keep: Teal'c. Jack, and Daniel, I'll keep watching. o.o

I'm more excited to see Claudia Black (Farscape) on S9 of SG1 than I am about Ben Browder. :clap: Claudia ROCKS!! I loved her as Vala in Prometheous Unbound. She was hysterical!! :crackup:

Claudia has frellin'tastic comedic timing! As for seeing Ben & Claudia together...I'm ready to see them not being a "couple". I'm a HUGE FS fan and was a J&A shipper, but it's time to see Ben and Claudia do something other than be "J&A", imho. ;)

Don't expect a lot of scenes of Ben and Claudia together, I read they're keeping them separate which I think is a good idea. I have a feeling the ratings will be soaring with Ben joining the cast, Claudia is icing on the cake. Atlantis is still my favorite show and I see from the promos we get a new character coming on board.

Hi Rheema! That would be season 7. I was shocked when Janet died. Why did she have to die?!?! She was one of my favourite characters on the show. I certainly can't wait for the 9th season. I read that there's going to be a new enemy, new mythologies, characters and more about the Ancients. What I really want to see are the Furlings! As for Atlantis, I haven't seen it coz I don't have the channel that screens it. Does anyone know when the first Atlantis season comes out on DVD?

My fav characters are Jack O'Neill from SG-1 and Sheppard from Atlantis.
I like Stargate SG-1 more than Atlantis because of the characters. In the Sg-1 everyone is great (I dont like Teal'c a lot, but thats my opinion), but in Atlantis there are people... I mean, Ford is useless! He has nothing particular as Teyla or McKay, he's not funny (enough - Like Sheppard), he does nothing.

So SG-1 will be always my fav, even if O'Neill is going to appear less in next seasons.

Oh, and Btw, Sam Carter is just HOT :lotsalove (Not as that ice-cube-Weir...)

I love both Stargate shows and Battlestar Galactica. I am excited about the new Stargate teams, but I'm sad that O'Neill is leaving :( I actually like the Atlantis team more, but maybe thats because they are new and different...Then Battlestar Galactica is just great, its completely different from most shows on t.v. Its so smart, and has a lot of energy...

And Firefly will be on too! If you like Sci-Fi you should definitely give it a try! It is my favorite show of all time. Great characters, and great writing in my opinion. But I think its the kinda show where you either love it or hate it.

It was good to see Ben and Claudia again, even though their characters are totally different. The "Let's make babies." comment had me cracking up.

Atlantis had a cool three-part story going so I have to say it did beat SG1 episode premiere. Still my favorite show.
