So, choice 3.
What does this mean if Flocke and Sawyer just leave!
Have a feeling that its not going to happen at all!
Thoughts?

Flocke can't leave, at least not yet, otherwise he would have.
I think there's something in the temple that is still keeping him on the island. That's why he's "recruiting" - to find people who will help him get into the temple.

or recruiting for the next leader of the island, someone who can help him get off the island. under jacobs rule he was a prisoner, but under someone like sawyer who wants to get out too, he can be free

Flocke can't leave because he his half of the leader of the island. Flocke needs Sawyer to assume leader of the good half. Therefore both halfs can unite as leader and leave the island.
Just a thought

it seems as if the smoke monster cant do anything for himself. he is unable to kill jacob himself and thus manipulates ben into doing it. he cannot leave the island by himself so he manipulates sawyer into doing it with/for him. go back to season 3 and watch the episode where locke blows up the submarine and youll notice that he comes out soaking wet...this always bothered me because i always thought that it implied that locke actually moved the sub, swam back to the dock, then blew up the end of the dock to make everyone think that the sub was history. i wouldnt be surprised at all if the smoke monster (who clearly has access to lockes memories) knows about this and is planning on using the sub as his ticket off of the island, but he needs someone else to do it for him for some reason

Obviously Flocke is lieing when he says that the Island doesn't need protecting. Look bad to the season premiere, "LA X". The Island is underwater and destroyed. Why is this? The Island failed to be protected by Jacob and the Candidates he has chosen to carry on this protection (i.e. Jack, Sawyer, Sun/Jin, Sayid, Hurley, Locke). That is why the Island is no longer there, because no one was there to protect it. Also notice that Kate was missing (I believe) from the list of candidates. Why is this ? Possibly because she ended up doing what Jacob told her not to do as a child (steal). There is more to this "game" between Jacob and MIB then we see so far. But Flocke is bad and there is much more than he is presenting to Sawyer.

Danielle said they also had three choices: run, hide, or die. Just saying...

Flocke needs to have one of them take his place too, like the genie of the lamp. He can't just leave, someone has to get tricked into becoming the new smoke monster... Maybe?

But if the island only needs protection for its own sake, then so what? Or as Jacob said to Ben, "What about you?" The rest of the world still moved on mostly the same after the island sank in the flash-sideways universe. But it's too soon to decide yet. Maybe there is a significance we haven't learned yet.

That is exactly what I was thinking when he said "three choices."
I don't think it's related, but if it is...? "Run" - leave the island. "Hide" - do nothing and see what happens. "Die" - ...become the new Jacob? Locke?

I don't believe Flocke for a second. More likely the real three choices are: 1. Do nothing 2. Take over Jacob's position as protector of the island (and if Flocke says there's nothing to protect it from, then there is. Maybe from Flocke himself). 3. Join Flocke (the "dark" side).

I think MIB's body is in the temple so he needs to get back to it then he can leave :)
and I believe MIB I think he is the good guy, and I think choices might be true, makes sense, but maybe the Island needs no protection, maybe--.--- I better wait and see what's next LOL
