So we all know that from the beggining Aaron was considered a special child. The thing that we didnt know was why. What I think we learned in The Incident was that a majority of Jacob related things werent actully Jacob related, they were 'nemisis' related, for him to get to his loophole of Ben killing Jacob. My point being, maybe 'nemisis' is trying to use Aaron as leverage, and how is it that 'nemisis' can use Aaron as leverage? What if Aaron was Jacobs son, or grandson, or great great grandson, or whatever, somehow they were related, the Shepards are the islands true leaders. It would explain, to me a couple things. Assuming the Christian we see is 'nemisis' it would explain why he took Claire to where ever he took her, and it would explain why Aaron is so special, cause he can save the island somehow from 'nemisis', and 'nemisis' doesnt want that. Thoughts......

Since we have a Claire/Aaron thread, I think a separate one just for Aaron is a good idea. Let's try to keep it focused on him and not his mother(s). :)

ok i know this is a thread on Aaron, but i've gotta go the long way around to explain my thoughts. i'm not sure if Claire is dead or not, but Miles' behaviour around her in Season 4, Episodes 9 and 10 reminded me of Richard Alpert's ''there's something different about you, John'' in Season 5, and we all know now that the difference was that Locke was dead, and the Locke in front of Richard was the Nemesis/Smokey.

also in Season 4, Episode 10, Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles walk over the burial site of Danielle and Karl, and we are reminded of Miles' special ability to hear the dead. why include that at all? why must we be reminded that Miles can do this, whilst in the same episode we see him looking at Claire in an odd way, echoing Richard's words to Smokey-Locke? if Richard - who's been on the island for a long time and has seen many things - didn't know it was Smokey, Miles most probably wouldn't know either. but given his ability, he suspects something is different with her.

furthermore, Season 1 Episode 10, Raised By Another;

Malkin (psychic): ''i can tell you, this is important.''

Claire: ''ok.''

Malkin: ''it is crucial that you, yourself, raise this child. this child parented by anyone else, anyone other than you... *looks concerned* ... danger surrounds this baby.''

Claire: ''danger?!''

Malkin: ''your nature, your spirit, your goodness must be an influence in the development of this child.''

Claire: ''i'm putting this baby up for adoption.''

Malkin: ''there can't be another! you mustn't allow another to raise your baby! it needs your protection!''

and then back in Season 4, Episode 10, Something Nice Back Home, in a flash forward off the island Jack visits Hurley in the mental hospital, who has a message from Charlie: ''you're not supposed to raise him, Jack.'' could all of this be part of Nemesis' Long Con to kill Jacob? (if i've lost anyone, i believe the Nemesis has some degree of control over Smokey, and can use it to impersonate people or animals).

if he has been impersonating Claire or Christian or both, the Nemesis has ensured that Aaron is in fact being raised by another. Smokey-Christian led the (non?)-Claire away, and they appeared together in the cabin, and with Claire gone Kate became Aaron's guardian, taking him off the island and eventually into the care of Claire's mother. the implications of this are still unclear, but the Season 1 episode tells us that Aaron being raised by anyone OTHER than Claire will bring about something pretty awful. who exactly are we to believe Aaron will eventually grow up to be if he doesn't do so without Claire?

i'm really not sure where this theory belongs. i looked around a lot and this thread was the best i could find.
