Where was Daniel in 1977??

We saw Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Jin and Dan come to the DI in 1974. But in 1977, we only saw the new lives of 4 of them:

Sawyer was Jim LaFleur
Juliet was their mechanic
Miles was a driver or something
Jin was also a driver or something

Did I miss anything or did we not see Dan living with the Dharma Initiative in 1977? I was excited that we would get to see more of him working on the Wheel like he was in 5x01 but it seemed like he wasn't there.

I was just wondering where Marvin Candle was, too. Now that you have refreshed my memory with the mention of Daniel being at the Orchid in Episode One, that must be where Marvin Candle is, too.

However, Marvin and his wife had a baby in a house and were making a Dharma film in a building. I thought that was where Horace, Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, and Jin are now.

IDK. In the scene w/ Daniel in the Orchid he was kinda shielding his face from being recognized. I think he may have left on the sub in 1974.

I think Dan may have lost it a bit after seeing baby Charlotte in 1974. He's muttering that he won't do it, he won't tell her (to leave the island and never come back, or she'll die), which means he's trying to alter history. I think he'll try to access the Wheel, or its energy, and set the island off through time again in order to save Charlotte.

That's where things will go wrong and will lead to the video from ComiCon. And may also let the Losties return to 2004 to resume normal life (as opposed to 2007/08).

I think they want to create some mystery by not telling us, but I agree with lost that we know because what we saw in episode 1 of this season

I think this is how they plan to flesh out some backstory on candle. They're not showing Dan because they want to have us ask this very ?. then reward us later. fingers are crossed.
