I would have liked to have seen more from Libby because I feel that her being in the mental hospital with Hurley and the way she looked at him will now never be explained. I find that quite frustrating.

Also, I think Shannon was killed off too quickly. I think her character had more to offer. I liked the way that she was becoming more vulnerable on the island and her relationship with Sayid was so sweet. I feel that she was only killed off for the shock value.

Any thoughts?!

When I saw this thread title, I immediately thought of Libby. Poor Hurley finally had someone who cared about him and someone that made him happy, and they go and kill her off.

I find that Charlie wasn't killed off 'too quickly' or spontaneously in the sense that we kind of expected as much because of all of Desmond's flashes... That's how I see it anyways. But still, they shouldn't have killed him off :( Such a big part of Lost was taken away with his death...

Boone's death was awful too. :( And of course Libby.... Poor Hurley!

I agree with you about Charlie because even though I was a massive Charlie fan and I miss him (I loved his friendship with Hurley), it didn't feel like he was cut off from the show too soon. The only thing that gets to me is that he died in vain because Claire never got on that helicopter. I can't forgive Desmond for that.

This might sound weird but I was also a bit sad when Tom from the others died. I know I shouldn't have done, because he took Walt, but he was such an identifiable other and we got to know him a bit. Is this wrong?!:o

Most characters on LOST have been killed too soon if you ask me.

Libby
Tom
Alex
Karl
Danielle the main three in bold, I don't understand tptb reasons for doing this .!!!!!!!

Charlie :bawl:

Charotte :bawl: WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!

Those I think were killed at the right time are:

- Boone
- Shannon
- Ana Lucia
- Paulo and Nikki (who should have been killed sooner!)
- Mr Eko

Ana-Lucia ,Eko and Danielle.

Only these three because other death seemed reasonable or covered with the plot so they were probably right to be done.

Oh I almost forgot about our daddy'o Michael. Yes ,Michael. I could really see him being back on the island along with Jin.Being all right. I still find his death being a bit too early. but,I guess it had to do smth with Harlod's wanting too much money for his performance on the show. So D&C had to solve somehow his story and they did it rather sooner than later which is a pity because I do feel there was smth more in store for him. Money rules the world ,that's the whole truth. And it's present in almost every aspect of life.that's is said.Sad but true.

I agree about Tom and Danielle. Of all the people that have died, they are the only two I'm actually upset about. Don't get me wrong. I'll miss Charlie; and Shannon was starting to grow on me as well. Charlie's death was important though. With everything that has happened, I'd be upset if he hadn't died. In some ways, I guess Shannon's death was necessary. But, though it had an impact on Sayid, it was more important for the development of Ana Lucia. Since I never liked Ana Lucia, this isn't a good reason for me. I can imagine Shannon integrated into the rest of season 2 and 3 farely well, but it wouldn't work for Sayid's character in season 4 and 5, so I guess I'm okay with her death as well. It's not like I miss her. I liked Alex too, but feel her death was necessary for Ben's development. Though Libby's story was slightly interesting at the time, I don't miss her either, and have only a small tingle of curiousity of her backstory. I was glad to see Michael, Eko, Ana Lucia, and Boone go, since I never cared about them at all. The same goes for Nikki and Paulo. Getting back to Tom and Danielle; I feel their deaths were also necessary, but I'm not happy about it. We knew Sawyer was going to kill Tom eventually, I just wish it would've happened later, since I was really starting to like him and would've enjoyed seeing more of him in the future. Danielle was (and is) my favorite non-major character. Yet, since I feel Alex's death was important, I guess Danielle dying before her is a good thing. It would've sucked for her to finally be reunited with her daughter, only to lose her again soon after.

I just realized I've been typing for a long time. This is much longer than I had originally planned.

Charlotte and Libby. Because neither of them got a flashback episode, neither of them really got a proper reveal and they both had SO much story left. And of course the people they left behind (Dan and Hurley) just proves that no one can be happy on this show :( :( :( I MISS THEM.

I agree that Nikki and Paulo should have been killed off sooner! And Shannon, in my opinion, only died at the right time because Boone was already dead.

Probably the two that leaped immediately to mind were Libby and Charlotte. Both of them had real potential for some really good character backstories and then they were just.... gone. The same goes for Danielle and Alex, as well. :(

Eko is another one whose death I just didn't understand the meaning behind. It didn't contribute to the story or anyone's character development at all -- it was just there for shock value. And he himself had a lot of potential to grow as a character.

I thought Boone's and Shannon's characters were pretty lame anyway, and their deaths DID help the story along as well as contribute to other character development. (Really, could Sayid have turned out the way he did in Season 4 if Shannon DIDN'T die? As well as Locke and Jack with Boone's death?)

Nikki and Paolo shouldn't have died... they should never have been created!

Ana Lucia is kind of.... iffy. I didn't like her character much, and I didn't really shed any tears over her death, but it hardly served a purpose except to get everybody mad at Michael. And it was overshadowed by Libby's death, which was sadder. In my opinion, if they had to die, Ana Lucia and Libby shouldn't have died together. That was just too much.

Yeah, I do miss Tom. He was a fascinating character and he probably would've brought a lot to the story now. I don't understand why they had to knock off his character so soon.

Ethan isn't dead -- he keeps bloody popping up! :p

And how come nobody mentioned Arzt? (Just kidding, he annoyed me. :p )

And then there's Charlie. Do I miss him? More than anything. Did I cry over his death? I still do. :shy: Should he have died? Definitely not. But was his death essential? Well..... Charlie's death was unique in that we were given ample notice, through Desmond's flashes, and Charlie died a hero's death -- nobly and selflessly, giving a much needed lift to a character that really needed it. And it certainly helped the story along, and it helped with the development of characters like Hurley and Desmond, and maybe even Jack. If there is one good thing about Charlie's death, it's that it was at least for a good cause. But.... I still miss him more than anything. :bawl:

For the most part, this show's pretty good at getting rid of characters right about the time that I feel they're making the story drag. Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, Libby, Mr. Eko... they all seemed to die at the right time. And yeah, Charlotte as well. I just never found any reason to like her, so when she died, I figured it was about time.
I was a huge Charlie fan, but I think his death was well-timed too. I mean, where would he have been for the last two seasons? Would it have been the Oceanic 7? Or would he have been time-travelling on the island? I can't see him in either group.
The only ones I really feel like they killed off too soon were Danielle and Alex. They'd only just been reunited, and immediately both died. I thought there was a lot more they could do with that story.

Michael, however, I thought they should've killed him off way sooner. :p

As someone who was devastated by Charlie's death, at the time I definitely thought it was far too soon for that character to leave. Yet, even though I still think for the character it was, the plotline TPTB had written for him had driven them to write themselves into a corner, with no way out other than to kill him, since any later storylines with the character, had he not died, would have paled and seemed insignificant in comparison. So, yes and no for Charlie - yes, it was untimely for the character, but for the plot line they'd written, it wasn't. And I still feel that's a marred area of show, at the fault of the TPTB. I could rant on more about this, but I suppose it's for another topic, and I'm sure my points will have been said countless times in the past!

I ultimately think Charlotte's death was the most untimely. Looking back on it, I see now that she was basically created as a plot device for Daniel, and that really, really irritates me - not just because often female characters on Lost are misused in this way to further develop male characters, but because she was a good, strong female character, who could have developed into a very interesting lead, as could her relationship with Dan. So, yes... Charlotte was killed off too quickly.

Ana Lucia, Libby, Naomi and Charlie. were killed off too soon.

Ana Lucia: The first female leader, her courage, tenacity, intelligence and awesomeness is still unmatched by the remaining females after 2 1/2 years! Well.. Juliet and Sayids bounty chica, maybe. :DBesides, her promise to Emma and Zach was stolen from her - the awesome she and Sawyer as a couple, as well as her 'wildcard' mix between Locke and Jack, or the kick-tooshy skillz that she and Sayid would've brought to the army, was stolen from us as well. I miss her greatly. :(

Libby: For Hurley and for the mystery she still is to those who miss her.

Naomi: Another strong, wickedly skilled and independant young woman that was taken out too early as well. The potential between her and Sayid axed too soon.

Charlie. He and Claire deserved that happy ending. Gone too soon.

Boone very much so, still really miss him :bawl:, they could of done so much more with him, we only just started to get to find out about him and then he was gone, they had built him up so well to. I would of really loved to have seen much more of Keamy as well, I found him very interesting and a lot of fun, they could of kept him around a bit more to make their lives more hell, plus a few of us female fans could of enjoyed the “view” more :p!!!
