"Which brings us to the big news. "And movie three features Angel, Beast, Kitty Pryde and Juggernaut. Right there you have worth the price of admission. And there are more, those are just the ones we can talk about. Juggernaut you had it already on your site, that is [Vinnie] Jones. That was accurate. Angel is not done yet, we're looking at a few guys, but it's a big role, so... we are very close, a few more days. Angel is a great emotional story. It's a very big role in this movie and so is Kitty Pryde, where we have some high choices that are great but it's just not locked up yet." Lost star Maggie Grace is in talks for the role."
You can read the rest of the article here (although there's no other mentions of Maggie):

I'm all well and fine with new characters....my only thing is....they better not have too big a role, especially since my favs....like Rogue barely get screen time as it is (in X2 anyway).....less Bobby....intro Gambit....same amount of Wolvie...more Storm....intro Juggernaut....intro Beast. That's my idea of a great X3....leave the main guys the main guys and intro some others....but don't focus on them too much!
Anyway, yeah....Maggie is in talks....that'd be cool I guess. I like Maggie, but like I said, we don't need too many new characters....the X films are already overcrowded with not enough time as it is...uninteresting characters like Kitty Pryde is kind of a waste....but anyway...if she has to be in it....Maggie would be ok as her I suppose....maybe make she a Bobby hook-up and leave Rogue to get with the yummy Gambit....:)
P.S.....it also says that Angel has yet to be cast, no comment on Gambit, and Beast will be played by......Kelsey Grammar....oh lord.

I can't picture Maggie as Kitty. Maybe as White Queen Emma Frost.
As long as they keep up Wolvie as he was in X-2 and give us Phoenix storyline, I'm all into the movie;)

X-MEN 3
There's an update on the people behind the sequel over at X-Men Films by bringing along Oscar-winning costume designer Judianna Makovsky, "X2" veteran Helen Jarvis has signed on as a second art director, and Oscar-winner John Bruno will serve as visual effects supervisor.
At presstime, the Comic Reel received an email from a source who wished to remain anonymous, who wrote, "Maggie Grace was told her character would be killed off of 'Lost' if she took the 'X-Men' movie and now cannot be in it. They have already moved on to other actresses." The brutal Hollywood machine ...

Dammit. I would like Maggie to be in X3, but I'd rather have her remain on Lost.

Here here.
Hopefully she will remain on Lost for a while longer before branching out into movies.

Variety (http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=upsell_article&articleID=VR1117923934&categoryID=13&cs=1) is saying that Maggie has been cast as in the role in X-men 3.
The original returning stars have been signed, and the cast is bolstered by Kelsey Grammer, Vinnie Jones and Maggie Grace ("Lost"), who just came aboard as new mutant characters."
Which if true means she said no to "Lost."
Oops! Ya beat me to it. ;)

I think she'd be good at the role, but she would have to dye her hair. I hate when they don't follow through on something like that which takes a half hour to remedy.
But the real news here is Vinnie Jones being in the flick to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I *heart* Vinnie and think it's awesome that he's going to be in a movie that I'm anticipating soooo much! I used to be a total comic book geek for the XMen and spent every dime I had buying them, and the movies have really lived up to my expectations.
As for Gambit, I could see Stuart T. doing it. J. Depp would be perfect but it won't happen in a million years. As for Beast, I don't think it will be Kelsey Grammer. While he has the intelligence part down, Hank is a big guy first and foremost (before he was blue he looked like a heavyset human man, keep in mind). I think someone like The Rock could actually pull this off nicely if he could just get the accent down, believe it or not. I'm not a wrestling fan, but his acting chops keep getting better and better.
Just had a another thought. Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be the absolute perfect fit for the role of Gambit!!!!! He can do accents, he has the lithe frame while still being fairly tall, & he has the eyes!!

I have to agree with you. I honestly can't see Maggie playing Kitty. Kitty is sweet, and if Maggie plays her I will think of Shannon, and how it just doesn't fit. I could so see her playing Emma Frost for sure! :D
If she does get casted as Kitty, I will have no problem with it, and if she doesn't won't bother me at all. The X-Men films already have all the character I need. *cough* Wolvie and Rogue.

MORE LATEST NEWS:
MAGGIE IS KITTY PRIDE!.....it's confirmed. They just chose a new director (the guy who directed Rush Hour).....and they also confirmed that she is indeed playing Kitty in X3.
:)
It'll be fun to see her in X3, but I hope she wasn't the one who "couldn't agree on a contract" :(.
I really cant imagen her kicking ass lol, but it should be intresting.

The film, directed by 'Rush Hour' helmer Brett Ratner, is due to begin shooting in August.

Summer '05 no dream, but wait until '06
By Martin A. Grove
Summer speculation: This may not be Hollywood's dream summer, but 2006 should be a much happier story...
Looking ahead to the summer of 2006, we can see from release schedules now circulating (but subject to change) that the pre-summer season should pack a powerful Tom-Tom boxoffice punch. First, Tom Cruise arrives May 5 in Paramount's "Mission: Impossible III." Then Tom Hanks surfaces May 19 in Columbia's "The Da Vinci Code." Meanwhile, Memorial Day will see 20th Century Fox launch "X-Men 3," with a pack of stars including Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry...
As for "X-Men 3," the previous episode in its franchise, "X2: X-Men United," opened to $85.6 million May 4, 2003 and went on to gross about $215 million domestically. So here, too, we're looking at a strong franchise that should perform very well. Directed by Brett Ratner and produced by Avi Arad, Lauren Shuler-Donner, Ralph Winter and Hugh Jackman, its screenplay is by Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg. Its extensive cast includes Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, Kelsey Grammer, Vinnie Jones, Maggie Grace, Shawn Ashmore, Alan Cumming, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.
At this point, nothing else is opening against "X3" for Memorial Day weekend, but that could change in the months ahead...
In 2006 there should be a mega-opening for "X3"...

A friend of mine, who works at MARVEL has had the chance to read one of the latest drafts, and although he was a fan of the first two movies, he didn't like it. This is what he told me:
(MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)
.
.
Wolverine... is no more the central character (mostlikely because he gets a spin-off after X3)
Storm gets more presence (as demanded by Halle Berry) and she will have
sex with... Wolverine (which is not okay - first, W had nothing to do with her in the first two movies and second, there shouldn't be sex in an X-Men movie)
Rogue gets angry because Iceman has an affair with Kitty (our lovely MAGGIE). He's frustrated that he can't touch Rogue, so he takes Kitty.
Jean Grey returns as an evil force and instantly kills CYCLOPS. Later on, she finds out that she's more powerful than Magneto and Prof X and that X stuck a mental block in her head, to prevent her from becoming stronger than him. Her 'death' broke that block, and as a result of her anger, she kills BOTH of them with her thoughts.
Jean is NOT Dark Phoenix, as in the comics, it's not clear in the screenplay why she's evil.
There are less action sequences in it than in X-Men 1.
No Sentinels.
Juggernaut is only a right hand foe for Magneto, nothing special. He has even less screentime than Lady Deathstryke (who does NOT return) in 2.
Someone has a machine that can mutants change into humans - which happens to MYSTIQUE. Will she be naked during her arrival? Likely.
Colossus is in the script, but only with a minor role, just like Gambit. Beast has a bigger scene and is said to have the only interesting part in the movie.
And the screenplay is made by the guys behind XXX 2, Suspect Zero and Electra... which is not exactly "great".
WELL.. doesn't look all that good, BUT..I'm sure Maggie will be great ;)
About her other movie, THE FOG. I've had the pleasure to read the screenplay by myself, and it's simply great. Basically, it's almost a 1-1 copy of the original Carpenter movie, with little changes here and there. She will be great in that flick and I hope that they've changed that X-Men script a bit. Maggie's great, I'm sure she'll have a big Hollywood career.

Has Maggie Grace left X-Men 3?
Posted on Tue, 28-Jun-2005
If the whisper is true, then a couple of thousand just cancelled their option to pre-purchase tickets.
According to a rumour on Deadpool's Blog - via Superhero Hype - that divine spunkrat christened Maggie Grace ["Lost"] may be out of "X-Men 3". She was to play Kitty Pryde.
According to the site, the production team have announced they're looking for a new foxy mutant to fill the blonde superstar's hot pants. No reason is given why Grace has apparently left the film.
Meantime, Variety reports that a third "X-Men" spin-off - milk anyone? - could be in the works. Dark Phoenix? Mystique? Freddy vs. Jason vs.Storm?

X3
DP Films reports the role of Kitty Pride is being recast, which means it looks like "Lost" blond starlet Maggie Grace is out of the role of the girl who can walk through walls.

X-MEN 3
There's an unconfirmed rumor on a site called Deadpool's Blog that said, "Maggie Grace ('Lost') is out as Kitty Pryde. The production team has just issued a casting notice for the role." They also implied that the production is referring to Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men" series as reference material.
Meanwhile, Superhero target="_BLANK" Hype puts two and two together from a report in Variety, revealing that a new development deal for screenwriter Zak Penn could mean another spin-off outside of "Wolverine" and "Magneto."

Maggie Grace of ABC's "Lost" apparently is no longer in the running to portray Kitty Pryde for several reasons, not the least of which is that she was considered too old for the part. Apparently, pages from Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men" comic are being used as a template when considering actresses for the role...

So many articles....o.o
But which is true? Did SHE, herself, leave the film? Or did they drop her? Different articles say different things.
For some reason, the second makes no sense to me. I hope that she left the film all by herself, because that probably means her role in 'Lost' is secure.

Summer-time for Kitty Pryde?
Serenity thesp linked with X3.
June 30, 2005 - In a posting at his official site's message board, writer-director Joss Whedon, himself a one-time contender for X-Men 3 and a writer on The Astonishing X-Men comic, reveals that 23-year-old actress Summer Glau has auditioned for the role of Kitty Pryde in X3.
Whedon said that Glau, who has worked with him on Firefly and Serenity, "called me and mentioned she was going to and did I know anything about the character (there were no 'sides' to study – they had to get them when they came in). So the girl I turned into sort of a superhero in my movie was going to read for the character that most influenced ALL my girl-heroes, Kitty Pryde. Karmically funky."
Lost's Maggie Grace had initially been cast as Kitty but has since left the project, which will begin filming in August for a May 26, 2006 release.
Thanks to Superhero Hype for the heads-up!

Arad on everything comic-to-film
Posted on Fri, 1-Jul-2005
Our buds at IESB sat down with the big man of Marvel, Avi Arad, today, and chatted for 40 odd minutes about what's going on in the incessantly busy comic-to-film world...
X-Men 3
That online script that was reviewed, says Arad, was something "verbally passed on. It wasn't even a script". Arad says he loves all his babies, but "rarely do I say this is the best script of them all". Arad says the script is getting better day by day, and "you re-write scenes while you're in production". He adds, "I tell you what really pisses me off about this stuff - is the ignorance to the comics, because if you know the comics at all, OK, lot of our leaders of the X-Men died and came back in one form or another".
Arad hints that Patrick Stewart's character, Xavier, may die in the movie. "He died [in the comic]. One of the most famous panels in the comic was his funeral. They all die and come back. We don't kill anyone just for the hell of it - [only] if it works for the story".
Onto casting and Arad confirmed that Maggie Grace ["Lost"] is out as Kitty Pryde, hinting that it had something to do with her TV schedule. So when do we hear who's replacing her? "Tuesday", he says. As for who is playing Angel, Arad says Mike Vogel was up for it - but his schedule clashed. "He decided to go with the Poseidon Adventure". And what happened to Alan Cumming, why isn't he back as Nightcrawler? "This film has like ten new mutants, and some of them are like mind-fucking characters", says Arad. "We have to move on. In our story bringing someone [in] who is not from the immediate leadership does not serve the story". Arad says there would just be no screentime for Cumming.

Kitty Pryde Cast… Again
Written by Scott Collura
Friday, 29 July 2005
Lost star Maggie Grace apparently lost, ahem, her shot at appearing in the next X-Men film. Despite rumors that floated around on the Internet for weeks claiming that the actress had been cast (or some X-fans might say, miscast) in the role of Kitty Pryde, the actress has since denied those claims – and now relative unknown Ellen Page has gotten the job instead...
While promoting the remake of John Carpenter’s The Fog at Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago, Maggie Grace deflected questions about her involvement in the third X-film.
“I had met everybody there and it was a possibility, but no, I’m not doing X3,” she told reporters. “It’s funny how the press – I mean, God bless all of you – runs with things all the time. I didn’t tell anybody certainly, but somehow there was leaks somewhere along the way. But no, not really.” ...
