Someone posted this at Lj. They describe the new footage shown at the festival:

Edward takes Bella at the Cullens'. Bella's going to open the car door but E. moves faster and opens instead of her, like a very gentleman.
B enters the house and she notices it's neat, essential and beautiful. They both enter the kitchen where all the Cullens are cooking lunch for her, but she's eaten already. Rosalie says if they keep seeing B the whole family will be in danger. There's lot of tension and she breaks a dish it was in her hands. Alice and Jasper are very kind and A tells her they'll be great friends.
B and E go to E's bedroom: very beautiful room but there's no bed. B's quite surprised and E tells her they don't sleep. They listen to Debussy, Claire De Lune, and try to dance but B can't dance. E takes her on his back and takes her out flying/floating over a tree: she's amazed.
The scene ends with the two of them sitting at the piano: he plays a track of his, and they're both under a particular and very romantic light


The other scene shown is the one at the end, the Ballet Studio scene we all already know ;)

Okay guys, I saw the movie today! It's so hard to say how I feel. It really was great, but very condensed (obviously you can't do the entire book in 2 hours.) But I can say they have the most amazing, perfect cast- especially Rob and Kristin! I would go into more detail here- but I don't want to spoil anyone, so if anyone wants my full review, PM me.

Just remember- don't expect it to be exactly like the book. With that being said, it follows it extremely closely though, and remains faithful to the characters and soul of the story. I really cannot wait for the DVD and New Moon! :hyper:

I have to refine my thoughts about the movie since yesterday. I was really critical at first. I always come out, "omg, it's not just like the book." But the more I thought about it and the more I talked about it with people who've seen it- the more I love about it. So yeah, it was awesome. Anna, I really think you're going to love it. Hey everyone! :waves:

I just wanted to say something to anyone who was dissapointed- try to give it at least one more chance. Here is why:

This is a film that had a LOT of hype, and a huge mega fan base who followed the every move of the filmmakers and actors over these past few months. Expectations for this film have risen SKY HIGH.

As a Star Wars fanatic I remember going into each Star Wars movie with the same ferver. When I got out, although I loved the film, there was a part of me that was like, "that's it?"

But then I'd get the movie on DVD and watch it a million times, see all the little things I missed before, and realize how much I love it. I'd take it for what it is, imperfections and all, and better see the good qualities of it.

Coming out I thought, "Hmm, this was VERY condensed and fast, the book had so much more." But a friend who saw it reminded me of a lot of scenes and moments that I did enjoy and I found I liked it more than I thought I did.

It's very hard nowadays to go into any franchise overhyped film with an open mind. But if you give it a chance, even after seeing it once, you might surprise yourself.

With that being said, I hope that everyone just enjoys being a Twilighter and does not give up on Twilight whether they like the films or not. ;)

Guys, the only way you can actually watch some clips is to keep checking youtube. I mean, just because Summit is taking down the clips, doesn't mean that people don't keep uploading them. So keep searching in youtube for "twilight scene" and then click on date added option and you'll most deffinitely catch a couple of scenes. The kiss and the baseball scenes are constantly uploaded. Now all we need is a link for the whole movie...:shifty:

I'm not interested in him sexually, of course, because sex is dirty, but wow -- LOOK AT HIM! Yee-ikes! Hubba hubba! If you don't mind, I'd like to spend the next 75 pages talking exclusively about how attractive he is, and then bring it up again every paragraph or so for the remaining 400 pages.

EDWARD: Hi, I'm Edward. I'm every girl's fantasy boyfriend: moody, humorless, violent, capable of snapping your spine with my bare hands, liable to do creepy things like watch you while you're sleeping, but also really cute.

EDWARD: (recoils at her garlic breath) I don't know what you mean.

BELLA: I just can't put my finger on what it is.

EDWARD: (lifts automobile with one hand) You're imagining things.

BELLA: I feel like you're hiding something from me.

EDWARD: (grabs passing rabbit with lightning speed; drinks rabbit's blood) Don't be silly!

BELLA: Let me guess -- you're a character whose only job is to provide exposition, and you won't be useful until the next book.

JACOB: Yes. At the earliest.

BELLA: Thanks for saving me from that mob of guys who attacked me in the street! It's a good thing you obsessively stalk me while simultaneously insisting you want nothing to do with me.

BELLA: Aw, you say the nicest things! I'm pretty sure you're a vampire, that I'm in love with you, and that part of you wants to kill me.

Twilight continues to count the money and so will the film’s stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Each received a reported $2 million for the first film in Stephenie Meyer’s four book series. Now that New Moon has been put into production, each is looking at $12 million paydays according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

That alone will help push the budget towards to estimated $150 million before you add in the special effects for the werewolves and location shooting in Alaska and Italy

Hey hun! I know it must be so hard to resist when most everyone else has seen it and you have to wait what seems to be so long, but just think how big and perfect it will be on the movie theatre screen rather than the computer screen. It will probably be more clearer and perfect if you wait for it to be out in the theatre. Just my thoughts.

I'ts definatly worth the wait for the theatre. I saw it for the first time there, then online. Online DOES NOT compare in any way to being in the movies, except for any noise. You only have a little over a month to go- you've waited this long- you can go a little further. Try to avoid anything having to do with it being online. Think of Lost's hiatus that last for months on end and you still survive them. This is only really like 5-6 weeks- you can do it! :w00t:

I agree with Laura and Nicole; I'm sure it'll be worth the wait to see it on the big screen! I've been tempted too- it comes out on December 19th over here, but I'd rather wait and watch it in the cinema with my mates. And I mean, we've waited soooo long for Season 5, and we've come through that, so I'm sure you'll be able to wait a month for this movie, and you'll appreciate it more on the big screen! :D

I was actually happy when I read that...through the movie all I was thinking was that the way it was directed ruinned the movie:shifty: So I really hope they hire somebody else,raise the film budget and try to make NM as good as possible!No more scenes that are cutting so fast and oh please stop the whole every 5 secs dinner with Charlie!AND put the important scenes in the damn movie!
Now what we all need is to fire Taylor:D

About a new director- it's really not a strange thing to have a different director for each movie in a franchise. All the Potter films have different directors, except for the first two films which I believe are directed by Chris Columbus.

I'm just interested to see who they choose to direct the new one. I really don't want it to be someone who is TOO mainstream. I want this person to fully realize why Twilight is special and to stay in the spirit created in the first film.

I guess we'll wait and see. I'm just glad they're making the next one! lol. :giggle:

Summit Entertainment has started preparing the sequel New Moon, based on
Stephenie Meyer's second book in the series, and to contain costs, the
studio is filming the third book, Eclipse, back to back using the same
new director. On Sunday, December 7th, Summit Entertainment confirmed
that Catherine Hardwicke will not direct the films New Moon or Eclipse.
Filming begins on New Moon in March, 2009, and will continue right
through completion of Eclipse.

Yes Anna- I totally agree! I think back to back will be really good, not only with the aging part, but also saving time for the actors. They can do these two films at once and then only have Breaking Dawn left to do, which I would love to see as well!!! :D

Reports have speculated that hardwicke was fired for being difficult on set, but sources close to her suggest summit's aggressive production schedule turned her off. "she'd love to do the sequel if she could do it better than twilight,” says one. “it became clear that summit didn’t have those same priorities."

indeed, at press time the second movie appeared to have little more than a rough first-draft working script. As summit’s production president erik feig told ew during twilight’s record-busting first weekend, “there is that first...script. All the finesse that turns a screenplay into a movie hasn’t happened yet.” two weeks later, summit is saying it’s happy with screenwriter melissa rosenberg’s progress.<

another of hardwicke’s primary concerns was that hunky vampire edward remains mia throughout new moon’s middle portion. In her own opening-weekend interview, she told ew, “you have to get the chemistry as strong between jacob and bella as it was between bella and edward. You also have to do something with that arc: She’s in love with somebody, he disappears, she falls in love with someone else, and the first guy comes back. Movies like pearl harbor have tried it. It absolutely didn’t work.”

with or without hardwicke, summit faces other snags. two sources tell ew the studio doesn’t want to rehire baby-faced taylor lautner (pictured) as jacob, though lautner’s agent has apparently reached out to the imaging company behind the curious case of benjamin button in an attempt to demonstrate to summit how a digitally bulked-up lautner could work. (summit says it won’t make a decision until a new filmmaker is on board.) there’s also the matter of finding a cast of native american actors to play jacob’s werewolf clan — a difficult challenge hardwicke was also faced with before settling on lautner, who isn’t completely native american. And with a slightly increased budget of $50 million — much of which is assumed will go to leads asking for heftier paydays, location shoots in italy, and ramped-up f/x — summit will have to scrimp somewhere.

So what director would want to take on such a big headache? Well, at press time, an offer was out to chris weitz (the golden compass), who put summit on the map years ago when its foreign sales operation made tons of cash off of his first film, american pie. (one source says weitz has already had conversations with below-the-line crew for new moon.) “we are in a recession,” reminds one hollywood insider. “it’s a hit franchise. Whoever steps into it is guaranteed a $100 million gross. Everyone wants this movie.” adds an exec at another studio, “you’d have to have a very high standard for art, hate the movie business, and hate money to walk off this sequel.

I don't know if this is anything new, but here is a couple things I just picked up:

'Twilight' Sequel Offer From Summit Out To Director Chris Weitz?

Yes, he's had tremendous success working with tweens and teens (About A Boy as director and writer, American Pie as producer and uncredited director). But Chris Weitz also did The Golden Compass (as writer and director), and my source says Summit Entertainment liked the look of that even if it didn't heat up the domestic box office (but did better overseas). I don't have official confirmation yet that this Twilight sequel offer has gone out to Weitz. But my insider says another reason it came down is because Weitz and Summit's president of production Eric Feig are longtime pals. The source tells me Weitz is "still considering" the offer to helm New Moon and possibly also Eclipse if the sequel and threequel movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's series of vampire books are made back-to-back. But let's also not forget Weitz's behavior on Golden Compass. On December 15, 2004, Weitz announced his resignation as director of the trilogy, citing the enormous technical challenges of the epic and later admitting he was worried about dissing by the book's fans. After another helmer came on and then walked off, Weitz returned to direct saying he'd done "a lot of growing in the interim". Despite all that, Summit seems willing to put its first valuable franchise in his hands. Not so with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke who's off the sequel for a whole host of reasons.

Saw the movie today! :hyper: Couldn't wait for the movie to come out in theaters - so I saw it on the net!!!! BUT I LOVED IT! :love:

It def. was very different and condenced, and I'll always love the book more - but I think they all did a good job with it :nod: It's hard to adapt a book like this...

'New Moon' Casting News: Michael Copon, Ben Barnes Push For Roles In 'Twilight' Sequel

MTV News can confirm that 26-year-old "Scorpion King 2" actor Michael Copon [pronounced "COPE-on"] is one of several actors Weitz is considering to play the new, larger Jacob Black. A representative for Copon told us that they're making a full effort to land the high-profile gig. And in a bit of 21st-century self-publicity, the actor has even recently updated his Facebook status with messages like: "Michael Copon [is] in a Twilight Zone!" and "Michael Copon is the older Jacob Black!"
