Once again Ana ruled last night. First she handled Sayid like a pro, so smooth. Some speculate that it was all a Good Cop Bad Cop act. Either way she pulled it off. And loved her eyeballing Henry and telling him to shut-up. I loved her telling Jack to just "get him (Sayid) out of here," and both Jack and Sayid doing as she said with no protest. LOL.

Oh so NOW Locke doesn't care what Ana thinks. It wasn't that way when he was begging for her help, and she came through for him BTW. "I don't think that's on the program." HaHa. Move over Locke there's a new sherriff in town. And she earned that right IMO, because she was the reason why they were finally able to expose Henry.

Scarlett I had to reread your post a few times to make sure I was fully awake. LOL. Thanks for popping by to say that. She seems to have taken charge of hatch duty, and she has a gun. I was wondering how the Ana haters would react to that. Good to know that it's cool with you. At this point she IS the most capable and rationale person.

Ok, I never thought I'd say this, but I actually...liked...AL in this episode. Not just because she stopped the psycho Sayid from killing Henry, but because her "Sorry, that's not on the program" comment cracked me up. And her calmness was a nice change from Sayid's flipping out and Locke's usual craziness.

So, she's definitely the one I'd trust the most in that hatch right now! :shifty:

Also - someone from THE FUSELAGE forum had listed Ana-Lucia's actions and observations during her two months on the island. After reading the list, I can only conclude that the wrong person(s) is in charge of the Lostaways -

By the way, I personally believe that the producers are deliberately showing very little of Ana-Lucia at the moment. And for the story's sake, will broaden her story arc more as the show's story progress in later seasons . . . if MR is still around.

Thanks for linking that Fish. She posted this on her MR board last night, and it is so spot on accurate it's scary. I always tried to have faith that Lost writers knew exactly what they were doing in developing this character. She is so amazingly complex and capable. I love how she is keeping her knowledge of everything subtle and under wraps so people underestimate her then are surprised when she shows them how smart she is. I really pray Michelle comes back for season two so they can continue to develop her character.

I am going to go ahead and post Leigh's list here, because I was planning on doing it anyway.

List of things Ana has done right:

1. She said "We need to get off this beach." They did not want to. The Others come twice and take many, including kids.

2. She wanted to "keep going" when they were trekking looking for somewhere to stay. For all we know she COULD have led them all the way to the other side of the island, but no, they were tired and wanted to stay there.

3. She was the ONLY one of the tailes trying to figure a damn thing out. She figured out Goodwin was one of them....the others were totally clueless. She killed him and therefore secured their safety for the rest of the time.

4. She didn't want to trek through the jungle to save Sawyer. Everyone else did. Now I think everyone agrees that saving Sawyer's life was a mistake....and also by doing that Cindy was taken/died.

5. She tied Sayid up. Most think she was out of line....but rewatch, Sayid had that gun pointed in her face. He WOULD have killed her had Eko not fought him. God forbid Ana do ONE thing to protect herself from getting killed. She was right in tying him up b/c otherwise he would have killed her.

6. Right after like 5 minutes of knowing him, she knew that Sawyer is an untrustworthy *** who only responds to threats and violence. Something that everyone else found out the hard way after 2x13 now didn't they?

7. She's got Kate number, knowing it was her making accusations.

8. She caught onto the Jack/Locke power struggle after 1 week when no one else cared for 50+ days.

9. She was the only one who got anything from "Henry" and the map that SHE got led them to what would ultimately prove him to be a liar. She NEVER said she believed him she just wanted proof and she got it. ALSO, SHE wanted to keep looking when Sayid wanted to give up....they kept looking b/c of her and they found what they needed.

10. She now realizes "Henry" is useful, and she rightly kept Sayid from killing him.

I like Locke to but when he said that :mad:. Ana rocked in this ep! I love any scene with Ana. My fav stuff in this ep was the Sayid & Ana :w00t:. There scenes are the best in the show, I think. :)

Does anyone notice certain personality changes when it comes to Ana-Lucia's hair? I seem to notice that whenever her hair is down, especially when she and the other Tailies were on the other side of the island, she was alot more open and free: free with the smiles, free with the trust and free with the support (well, except Nathan, but a girl can't be perfect). But whenever she wears her hair back in a pony tail she's more likely to be more business minded in that she wants to get the job done, she's sometimes more prone to suspicions, and her sometimes disliked aspects.

It's just an observation of mine, so feel free to comment on it or call me an idiot. :D

The writers haven't given us much, but what they have given us in regards to Ana has been great stuff. She totally rules the hatch right now. I flove it!!!

Actually, the fact that there are pictures of her in the Rose/Bernard episode bodes well for a second Ana flashback. Shannon's Dad shows up in a Jack flashback...and later we get that explained in a Shannon flashback. Sayid shows up in a Kate episode... Sayid gets a flashback episode. Ana shows up in a Rose/Bernard flashback...*hopes* :D

Someone here made a list of how many flashbacks each character had this season, and that had me so worried, 'cause Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Charlie etc. only had 1 so far, and with only 5 to go, and with everyone complaining about Kate needing another(although: what else there is to find out about her:confused:),I'm afraid Ana wont get hers:( That would totally suck:mad:

To have to wait until next season to find out why Ana was in Australia is just wrong. It shouldn't be the number of episode one gets, just how it can help move the storyline along. IMO Charlie's flashback was a waste of time because it showed us nothing new about the character and did nothing to further the overall plot.

^I agree, I think it should be more about the story line then the main charecters & there flashbacks. Wasn't there a time when there was no main charecter :confused: It was about a differnt charcter every week, well I think it was last season :shifty:. Now they have to show Jack & Kate in every ep :no:. I think they need to put some more in there. There hasn't been alot of Sawyer :( (some small scenes but nothing big) Claire, Eko & Vincent :p...(where is vincent :()

I hope in the previews for next week it is Jack & Kate in the net & they get captured by the others. Because then theres not Jate for a while, they can come back later after some Sana action :giggle:. I would be okay with Jack gone for a while if Kate is to :p as long as they arn't out playing around with eachother :giggle:. I can dream.

I hope this happens with Ana! I will get angry if there isn't another flashback ep of hers. I'm sorry. But I LOVE it when promo pictures come out. It's like...Christmas or something. Not very many of them though. Still...Ana is so pretty. Does she not look prettier and prettier every episode? I can't believe people think she's ugly...I think she's gorgeous. But, Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, I suppose.

Serious question Mettana? What is there left to find out about Kate.

She once mentioned having been married briefly, we could find out under what circumstances she ever thought she was pregnant...I know more questions about her and Wayne were brought up after What Kate Did... I don't know. I don't particularly enjoy Kate episodes (WKD was one of my least favorite this season) , but they have some options to explore.

I like em both. Then again, im a male, and they are both extremely attractive females. So no earth shattering logic there. :D

But in character strengths? I'd say i like Ana more right now. Because they are pulling back the layers on her, atm, so its going to be her best time, character speaking. For the past season, Kate is in place that most of the other characters are at this season, their "darker" side, or more messed up side. So she is kind of having a rough season. Well see how well she recovers as we progress in the season.

I find the "hatred" amongst Kate and Ana as hilariously bizarre as the Jack and Sawyer hatred. Its like choosing a team on these forums, its kind of childish. All the characters are their to represent different elements, why not enjoy the conflict they bring each other? Its fun as hell to watch.:D

^ Good point there. I don't hate Kate...but I definetly like Ana about 10 times more than her. I've never been really inclined one way or the other as far as Kate goes. Don't love her, don't hate her. Although, I must say, JATE drives me crazy... I don't really like Jack, and I'm neutral towards Kate, but it seems that when they're TOGETHER it makes for an unbearable combination. For me anyway. Sorry Jaters. :)

Mettana I am so with you on that. Jate really really brings my issues with the character to the surface. Not to spoil tonight, but to me it's a perfect example of how Kate loses her "strength" so to speak when she is shipped with Jack. And I have always hated their father-scolds-daughter vibe. This started to happen before Ana appeared, so it has less to do with Jana or shipper wars. I hate that I can't like both characters. But because Kate is going to be around for awhile, I have to suck it up and try to find a way to deal with the character a bit better. LOL.

Meanwhile, there is Ana who is such a complex woman of strength. I love the way they are writing her lately.

Yeah, i'm someone that likes both Ana and Kate but Kate gets on my nerves with Jack. She just comes across as "fake" or something when she is around him. That's part of the reason i switched over to shipping Skate because there is a "real" vibe when she is with Sawyer. I get the feeling that Kate tries to pretend she is someone else around Jack but with Sawyer she just relaxes and acts like her natural self.

Ana i love. She's an awesomely complex character.....strong but with an edge of vulnerability at the same time. A great combination and Michelle portrays it just right through Ana-Lucia. I'm so excited that she gets another flashback in the next eppy in 3 weeks.

I think Ana will still be on the show if thats what your getting at. There is to much potential with her charecter. She still has to run into Sawyer some time, I mean flirting in the jungle & now they still have yet a word to say to eachother. Ana might have came on the show more because of the trapizoid stuff but now she is much more & hasn't even been in the whole trapizoid thing really.

They could be turning in her trailer because they leave Ana's fate on a cliffhanger at the season finale, and they dont want to continue renting the trailer over the summer, if MR does get sentenced to prison. Lol they'll prolly re-rent the trailer as soon as she gets cleared.

The way the writers have been hyping her character since the end of season 1, and the amount of involvement her character has in the plot, I think they would do anything, but rush her characters death. If anything they are hoping she gets cleared and will try and stall her characters fate.

I really dont think she'll be killed off. Nor do i think MR will get prison time.

Well it was on the Season 2 preview. Any way, did any 1 see the Jate kiss? EWWWWWWWWWWWW was I the only 1 disgusted by that. I hope that you're right. As of this moment, the only other female character whom I almost like as much as Ana-Lucia is Sun.

I have other favorite characters...Eko, Sawyer, Sun, Claire, Jin, Sayid,etc...I don't know that I'd stop watching cold turkey if Ana were to die, but I can see my interest declining RAPIDLY. The show would have to be amazing for me to continue watching regularly.

In recent episodes, when we have gotten to know her better, I have grown more facinated with her character. Great post. I felt much the way you did about AL in the beginning. She was overbearing, but I admired that she took charge of the situation, because lets face it, someone had to and AL was the most qualified to lead. I started to really love the character after Collision. Her backstory had me on the edge of my seat and really started to explain why she is the way she is. The writing for her over the past episodes has made her all the more intriguing, and I think MR has done a great job portraying the complexities of the character.

I think that Ana is letting her guard down a little bit each episode, and letting people in more. She's talking more, and interacting more with the other survivors. Hopefully she'll get some romantic action soon. Even though I say I'm a Janateer, I think Jack would be too predictable.

The main reason people hate AL is because of Shannon, but I don't think the show is any worse off for not having Shannon anymore. I hardly ever remember she was even on at all. But if Ana was gone, we'd sure as heck remember her!

I read that that there was a fake spoiler just a bit ago to. But I never thought it was real about Ana dieng much anyway, I hope Ana's death is the fake spoiler. I still think its fake. The Sana sex can't be the fake spoiler because the promos show Ana topless with Sawyer.

Her episode tonight had a lot of insight into her character, I'm glad they showed what happened right after the whole Jason thing. She's the best female character. I hope the producers aren't covering up for the network and this was a 1 year plan, or else, it just goes to show how little control they have over their own show.

Yeah, wow. What a sad episode. Even without the horrible massacre at the end, it was still sad. All the connections in the flashbacks, and Ana and Christians plight was pretty touching. I really felt for Ana in this episode. And wow do i hate Michael. And he used to be one of my favorites.

The Sana sex was hot though. Nice little romp in the sack before she had to go. Didnt expect so much skin, considering its ABC. I also didnt expect the ending scene to be so scary, blood and all. But the writers did a hell of a job. Was a tragic ending.

I just...that very last act was so...when she was talking to her mom and talking to Michael it was so well-done, all of it. It was so...beautiful. In particulat her phone conversation with her mother and when she said, "I couldn't even kill him....I can't do this anymore."

Poor Ana- she never caught a break did she? I always wanted to find the kids and get them back...just because it would make Ana happy. I just can't believe taht this is IT. There'll be no opportunity for any of the things I wanted to see...the people I wanted to see her interact with still...

The worst part is, I don't even know if I can justifiably HATE Michael now. I have to know his exact reasons. Although they'd bette rbe good ones to justify this.

The only character this is MORE unfair to than Ana is Libby. We learned almost NOTHING about Libby. Are we just going to be left with knowing that she was in the Mental Hospital with Hurley but not knowing why or how she got out? If that's the case, I CAN'T believe that this was part fo teh long-term plan. Why would the writers do something like that? That's completely ridiculous.

There is a chance, I think, that Libby is still alive though...just maybe...

I think they could have waited till the season final or something to kill her off since she said she only wanted on it for 1 season. I do belive her DUI was part of the reason to or it wouldn't have killed the writers to wait till the season final.

No, she didn't. But jaters hated her since her appearance in Exodus just because she might could threaten the Jate relationship. Same thing that's happening now with Juliet. She's hated before she even shows up.
Adding to that Ana shot Shannon (which was an accident and she did it to protect her people) so I think that is where the hate came from.....

Being that I have been in love with Michelle R. since the first time I ever saw her (which was years ago, btw), I guess it was a given that I love Ana. And, no, I don't get the Ana hate either. She was hated by so many people from her first episode and I just do not get why.

Well I love Ana-Lucia! At first I didn't know what to think because I thought her only purpose was to be the next factor in the 'Who will Kate bloody choose?' But I was wrong, and she really grew on me. I wish they had kept her around longer, and I think that Michelle, even though she set up the arc for Ana thinks the same thing now.

I like ana too. it was time for a female character who thinks for herself and don't always follow jack or sawyer like kate did. no, i don't hate kate but she was...annoying. i just want to scream because of the whole jack/sawyer thing...she acts like a female dog...!

i know that MR just wanted to stay for one season but that was a shame of killing her. ana was a good and intersting character and she deserved better than that.

I kinda wished the writers choose an actress who could stay more than a year. No offence to MR, shes great. Just a character like Ana in my eyes should of stayed in the show way longer. I kinda felt she was there even shorter than a year. I still thought her story was rushed.

I agree. there're a some characters which are completely boring, but they kill 2 who have such a great story to tell.
yeah Ana had to die because of the one season thing but why kill Libby? we havn't seen much of her at all. i think the main reason was because they caught them drive drunken

When I first saw Ana-Lucia I thought she was some kind of a Lara Croft knock-off, but "The other 48 days" completely convinced me of this fascinating character! She wasn't perfect at all, she had a lot depth, a lot three-dimensionality and I'm quite dismayed about her decease. She had so much potential!! :bawl:

BTW she's a really beautiful woman (much more beautiful than any Lara Croft could ever be...)
