Soooo i've been a fan of the graphic novel for about eight years. It's absolutely brilliant. I'd place it in my top five favorite stories i've ever read.

Zack Snyder is directing the movie adaptation, and i have mixed feelings about this. Sure, 300 was a blast to watch, but Watchmen is a different animal. The visuals are very, very important, and it seems that he's nailing these pretty well, but even more important is the complex storyline and flawed characters. The trailer looks good, and some of the shots are exactly as they are in the comic (the funeral scene, the opening scene with the Comedian, the riot scene) so i guess we'll just have to wait and see. Honestly i don't think it's possible to make a Watchmen movie as good as the comic, but here's to hoping that he gets darned close.

Even so, the trailer gets me all giddy.

My uncle bought me the graphic novel last Christmas, and I read it in about two days. It was amazing.

I'm really excited for this, too. It looks like they might actually be getting it right. I hope so.

I saw the trailer during the Dark Knight and I've rewatched it so many times:w00t:. It's just soooooo cool. I have no idea what Watchmen is though other that its a graphic novel:o

The trailer was awesome. (had my attention before The Dark Knight)

The song played in the trailer is The Beginning is The End is The Beginning by The Smashing Pumpkins.:)

:w00t:I about literally had a heart attack when I saw the trailer. Hopefully it stays faithful to the book. From all the interviews i've read, it seems to be doing a good job so far. But I don't want to get my hopes up given how complex the novel is.:(

Snyder has apparently let some people view the film, without some of the special effects and all the finishing touches. From what i hear-

SPOILER BELOW!!!!!

The movie does not have the giant squid thing at the end. Instead it has some other sort of a weapon. The impression that i get is that the general theme is exactly the same, they just changed the squid into something more....possible.

This movie should be a real trip and experience to enjoy when it comes out!:)
