Nikki and Paulo

I know alot of people hate Nikki and Paulo but I think they deserve a thread about them. What do you think was their original storyline going to be (before the producers decided to kill them?) I'm also interested if anyone is a fan of them.

I was not fond of Nikki and Paolo at all. Mostly Nikki. She was so selfish! If their character personalities were not bad enough, I HATED their episode.
The flashbacks were awkward and boring, and the fact that they got buried alive at the end was gross! Sorry if you like them.
