View Full Version : The extent of Abrams involvement
Has J.J been at all DIRECTLY involved in the show since the first two pilot episodes? It's generally known that he's been M.I.A due to all his cinematic pursuits, but if he has had any creative input since season I, does anyone have a list or know where one can be found of his credits since?
I'm just wondering because we are now SO far away from where the show started I'm curious if that is a result of Lindelof and Cuse being the showrunners or if this was the direction in J.J's mind throughout. It would be cool to see him get back on set or in the writing room and to get some more genuine Abrams influence infused into the show.
I don't think he's had anything to do with the show at all since season 1, but this isn't really his story anyway. He helped put it together, but nothing about the show today is really his.

He co-wrote the season three premiere with Damon, but that's about it.
I'm just interested who's responsible for the 'endgame' as envisioned at the start of the series. I know it was very vague and sketchy at that point to both Abrams and Lindelof, but still...

I don't think that's Abrams at all. This isn't his story, he just contributed to the pilot.
I remember seeing an interview with him and I can't remember where it was now at all, but in it he was talking about how he really wants to get involved again and that he was scheduled to direct an upcoming episode. Though since the interview is fairly old, the upcoming episode in reference is now probably a past episode.

AVC: How much day-to-day input do you still have on Lost?
JA: Almost none. Damon Lindelof's been running the show since the first season. I went off to make a movie, and Damon's been running Lost brilliantly since then, so my day-to-day involvement is about as much as yours. [Laughs.]
AVC: Do you watch the show as a fan? Are you surprised by what happens?
JA: Oh yeah, I watch episodes, and I get the scripts. What's cool is that I was there when it was created, and now I'm watching it grow into something else.
