It's been all over the rumor mill and I chose not to believe it...although she seems so crazy, I wouldnt put it past her (check out my sig for proof :p)
Anyway, so I didnt belive it UNTIL the new interview in Body magazine. There's a scan available at e-l.net.

For those who havent read it, here's what it says:

Q- What's it like to be tabloid fodder already? The most recent rumor was that you have a husband.
A- Yeah.
Q- So that's not true, we assume?
A- Assume.

I dunno what to believe. I thought it's been confirmed that she and Dom were something of an 'item.' And there have been many interviews that have been faked. Who knows? It's her personal life. Let's let her live it.

I read that rumor a while ago, but it was in Star magazine so obviously I didn't believe it...but who knows...

I've only read this on the internet myself and usually there's a lot of stuff out there that's just not to be believed.. IF it is true and she's got a husband I think she'd atleast be seen with him at some point.. And if she's seeing Dominic Monaghan then I suppose that they'd go puplic or be stalkarazzied sooner or later..

I read that interview piece as well and thought it was an odd way to answer the question.

I've read the gossip about her being married. I think I first read it online last fall. Same gossip has it that she and the "husband" split last spring/summer though. Some say she's divorced, some say she's currently going through the divorce. Others speculate this is why she and Dom won't admit to a relationship they may have going. Tabloids would have a field day with it.

Heck, I've read that Evangeline isn't her real name, it's actually Nicole. Go figure.

I dont remember where i read it, but in another interview with her, it said something about how she only comes across a man that shed be willing to date, like once every 5 years. Like, maybe she doesnt want to be with ne one, or maybe shes picky when it comes to guys.

But if she doesnt want rumors to be spread why does she lead people on!

The thing I read on the internet also said that this guy she's "married" to had been supporting her while she'd been auditioning and that now that she was on her way to becoming a "star" she just wouldn't talk to him anymore..
I'm not the worlds biggest Evangeline Lilly fan, but I mean hello! I truly hope people like that don't exist! and I certainly don't believe that about someone who's worked for the benefit of others.. :rolleyes:

I dont think shes like that. She even said in an article that she doesnt want to be famous...that she like being alone and stuff, and doesnt want people knowing about her personal life...the stuff thats true at least...hmm...

i don't think Evie has a husband. why would she go to the Golden Globes w/o her husband and pose w/ Dom. it is possible she is going through divorce. but Dom is a Catholic School Boy...if he knew she was married i doubt they would b going out... and I believe they are

I read (don't know where and even if it is true) that she was married while shooting the pilot. Then went back to Canada, where she and her husband decided to go seperate ways. When "Lost" started shooting in july she and dom started dating and announced it to the the other castmember around thanksgiving.

Personaly, I am not really interested in who she dates or if she is married. And I understand why she wants her personal life to be private.

But if she doesn't confirm or deny the rumours, tabloids will start digging up the dirt and if they don't find something just invent stories.

It's free press now though, she's got a lot of people wondering. And from what I know there hasn't been anything directly said by either Evangeline Lilly or Dominic Monaghan about any relationship... basically it's all just speculation... (and she must like it that way)

Well, just take a look at people who have been open- like Bennifer, and Brad Pitt- it's ruined their relationships. Take a look at low profile celebs like Gwen Paltrow- they're happy and their relationships are stronger, because they don't have people at two ends trying to rip them apart. I think out of respect for Evie, her personal life shouldn't matter to us. We're just on the opposite side of her, because she wants her private life private, and real fans respect that.

Yeah, I get your point, but then again, we know that Gwenyth is married to Chris. It's just common knowledge. There's no problem with a low profile, but the secretiveness just irks some people- like me. It's like, either you're married, or you're not. Whatever.

Yeah, it irks me too- I shouldn't be a hypocrite! Actually when I found out she was dating Dom, my world came crashing down. It was just weird, because I'm a Jack/Kate fan (though I know it would never happen in real life), but the fact that she was with another cast member who she's close to in the show (kind of) just made things kind of weird. Plus, I never thought Dom would be her type.

I think Evie and Dom are quite cute together. They're both funny, flirtatious, and in the photos I've seen of them, including the "secret photos" of them in the limo, they seem to be having a lot of fun.

I guess...it's just that after Lord of the Rings, when I see Dom, all I can think of is him as a hobbit. I guess it's just one of those roles that sticks with you.

The thing is: once u let the press use your kitchen they'll wanna use your bathroom... I think she is right in being private... Evie is in the beggining of her professional life as an actress and nothing should matter more than the show and her work.

Concerning Dom and Evie...I think they are cute together ...a different couple, a beautiful one...Besides, I think all the other men in the show are commited to someone already...

Once she said in a interview that she was single but not available (14 hours of working don't let her think about a love life...)...But I think she was just trying to avoid ...you know...gossips...

I wouldn't call it elitist.

Everyone is different, really, and I suppose that's what it boils down to in the end. I have a boyfriend and truthfully, we're quite private about our relationship. It's not that we're ashamed of it, rather, I'm so in love with this boy. I just feel a bit funny involving others in it. To me, the relationship is private--it's a wonderful thing between me and him--it's our own. To some others, they want to tell the world, shout from the rooftops how in love they are. I suppose Evey is of the former, or perhaps is just trying to protect her emerging celebrity.

If she WAS married and dating Dom, it would completely change public perception. Questions would arise: is she cheating? Why isn't she divorced? In personal matters like this, it's extremely difficult to find out the facts (did she leave him? What happened in their relationship?) In most cases, we'd end up blaming the leaver (Evie, in this case). Imagine what that would do to her career, which is just getting underway. Not to mention the negative press that would be associated with Dom, as well as the show itself.
