Maybe the best ever in terms of WTFness.

The funniest thing about this episode is that I'm sure that all the fanboys (or most) are going to say that it was fantastic, while the fangirls are just going to be like this :eh: . But, at least no matter we all agree that SIASL was crap:shifty: :giggle:

What. The. Hell. Tell me they did NOT just kill Locke?! Did they? Will the island heal him?? Holy crap.
What an awesome episode.

& we still have no idea who Jacob is. Although that scene with Ben arguing with the chair had me cracking UP.

I hate Jack. "We're gonna blow them all to hell". Seriously? Kinda funny though.

And is that Karl I hear saying "My people are coming!"!?!? Aw, I kinda missed him.

You have to watch it in slow mo to get the full effect. :D (Apparently that's what that group shot was from - they're all watching Jack and Juliet's AWESOME demonstration of how to blow s*** up. And Jack has that old crazy gleam in his eyes. How I've missed that one.) But Kate and Sawyer both look shocked at the explosion, and Sawyer immediately tries to shield Kate as they both back up.

Ugh. So it looks like Jack's going to go into full force hero mode? I honestly don't think i can take it. The guy should stick to what he's good at... Whatever that is. Crying? Shouting? Making people feel like crap? Take your pick.

Please guys, tell me John Locke isnt dead :(

Now that I have watched it again, I am thinking that Locke won't be dead. Since after Ben shot him and Locke told him that he heard Jacob say "help me", Ben looks a little shocked and tells Locke that he should hope that Jacob helps him. (or something like that) So if Jacob is the spirit of the island maybe they are foreshadowing that the island heals Locke once again.

BTW - do we have to use these spoiler tags now that the episode has aired

I can't really form anything coherent right this second, but I just have to say that I hate Jack even more than I did before. "Because I hadn't decided what to do about it yet." or whatever the hell he said. WTF? Why do you get to decide the fate of everyone? Of course he has to have a plan, of course he has to be the big hero and make Sawyer and Sayid look dumb.

I hate Jack. AND BEN OMG.

05-09-2007, 11:26 PM
Jacob is invisible (he's Peter Petrelli lol), I'm a little ticked about that. Juliet want's to get away from Ben and now we find out Jacob does too. Because Ben is fraking insane and another one with daddy issues. Is that what the island is for, everyone to with bad dads to work on their issues together?

Ben is the last surviving member of Dharma. His story is similar to Danielle's, she killed all her people because she thought they were sick. Is she telling the truth? Is she Annie? Maybe Alex really is, is daughter.

I'm happy that Juliet told Jack, but I'm still not sure what side either of them are on. Which I guess is the point we will find out in the next episode.

Is Locke dead? Because every other character that go shot in the stomach died. Shannon, Ana-Lucia and Libby. But I suppose the island likes Locke and might save him.

Well at least they explained why Richard wears eyeliner, he used to be a pirate. lol
But damn he ages well or doesn't at all?

After watch the promo I had a couple of conclusions:

- Jack in the hero mode just don't work out.
- I don't want to see Charlie and Claire kissing.
- People on Lost like to blow up things. First Kate, then Locke, now Jack and Juliet? Did their parents ever teach not to play with matches? :giggle:

Thanks for the video Luanne.

My money is on jacob (whatever the F it is) takes over John Locke's body...so Terry stays and Locke is now truly the embodiment of the island and this is how the rumored Jack/Locke showdown happens and Locke is the rattlesnake he comes back from the dead in time to lead the Others and kill some Losties.

So does this mean that Jack really does have a big hero plan to save them all?:shifty:
It looks like it, because to me that promo showed Jack trying to be all badass with the whole "we'll blow them all to hell" demonstration & the losties looked like a bunch of idiots standing waiting to be blown up because if Jack is doing the demonstration I would be as far away as possible!:giggle:

I really hope this has not all been leading to hero Jack to the rescue because big deal how the hell does that prove anything shocking about Jack!:blank:

I think you're right--we'll see Locke rise from the dead, but it won't really be Locke. I wonder why Jacob would want to attack the Losties, though. I'm kinda of hoping a supernatural being/island spirit in the body of John Locke can walk right through Jack's fireworks show. Because I'd love to see Jack get his overconfident ass handed to him.

I wonder if Jacob's been trying on every dead body--Yemi, Christian Shepherd--looking for one that was juuuuuust right.

A few things I noticed about the tape scene:

-Kate looks annoyed that people are starting to doubt Jack's loyalties. I feel like I have asked this question a million times but, what has to happen for Kate to wake up? Everyone, in that camp now doubts him and see what is happening, but Kate. She cannot be this stupid.

-Sayid. Sayid. Sayid.:D First, he throws a little attitude toward Kate, then he corners Jack with the questions we have all been asking for weeks now. A true legend this man is.;)

-Sawyer.:( The poor guy had to hide in the bushes looking for someone to confide in, then when he shows actual evidence that Jack is not right, Kate still shows no support for him. Anything else, TPTB? Do you have anymore scenarios where Sawyer looks foolish?

-Jack. The biggest dick on TV. "Because I haven't decided what to do about it yet." Are you kidding me? You are the only person who can devise a plan to rescue everyone? You justify keeping this kind of a secret because you don't have the hero cape on yet???!!!

Jack, do us all a favor and go away. Go away and never come back.

So now I'm thinking Gregg Nations was referring mainly to Locke when he said not to assume that the Cooper killing would have good effects on them. Locke beating Mikhail to a bloody pulp just to prove a point was very... un-Lockian. I see Sawyer acting driven and more serious, but not "dark" or being an ass. In the promo, he still seems to be all about protecting Kate. Of course there's still room for them to have a good argument (probably about the merits of Jack's plan), but I don't get the sense that he's going to try hard to push her away. Does anyone else think that's still a good possibility?

i don't see sawyer pushing kate away. or at least if he does, he's still going to be protecting the hell out of her. because he loves her too much just to push her away and ignore her. even if he doesn't think he deserves her, he's going to make sure she's okay.
i think him pushing her away could have a good effect on the relationship--might finally wake her up, make her realize this is something she wants with someone she....cares deeply about. ;) but since TPTB have sort of killed kate, that might not happen.

I came in mid-way through the episode, so I'm clueless as to much of what happened. I'm going to assume by everyone's reaction, Kate is still fiercely clinging on to her hero worship and complete trust in Jack. You know, that's fine, but isn't it logical to question why this dillweed decided that he and his new girlfriend would keep this type of information from forty something odd people just because HE hadn't decided on what to do? What a pompous turd.

I think the fact that Kate was biting her fingernails was supposed to indicate she was worried/apprehensive about what was on the tape. We've never seen her do that before. (Just another dirty habit to go along with washing spoons with saliva, I guess. :giggle:) And don't forget, it was the second time she'd heard Juliet's side of the tape.

Thanks Leah
I forgot about Sawyer letting her hear it after Sayid told him to play it so that must have been off camera & we are to assume she knew already!

So I seriously hope this means we will see Skate have a talk next ep about what the tape had on it & I also hope that Sawyer's ordeal in The Brig will not be just pushed aside & forgot about!

Since it now looks like we will be forced to watch C&C doing something I would prefer not to see as well as Mr Dynamite deciding which other he wants to blow up first!

Its definitely Karl. And, Leah Kate, he is a tattletale but, unlike Kate, he uses his powers for good!

You guys are good if you can tell hands! :) I think Luanne's spec is a good possibility, but I was also thinking it might be 2 other options: 1) Juliet getting a gun from Jack or Sawyer, in a show of trust or 2) someone handing Claire a gun--maybe big brother-- after Charlie dies (which I am not spoiler fonting b/c that is PURE spec on my part). Her hands are bloody which meant whoever she is was taking care of someone and that could be C/C.

If Luanne's spec is right, that might be the J/K scene in the finale. "Here, Kate. I totally approve of you as of this very minute. Here's a gun." Whatever. Fine by me.

OK, my thoughts on this episode, cross-posted from the other board I frequent:

Dear Mr. Goddard:

Might I one day have the honor of bearing your children?

Creepily eternal love,
A fan.

P.S.: Thank Ms. Sarnoff for me for not getting in your way.

Dear Mr. O'Quinn:

I will be available for the bearing of your children once I'm done with Mr. Goddard's.

Slightly less creepy love,
A fan.

Dear Lost's makeup department,

One of these days you'll get the hang of flashback hair. Just wait and see.

Patient love,
A fan.

Dear general Lost Powers that Be,

...Good God.

Open-mouthed, nervously giggling love,
A fan.

Dear Mr. Linus (the younger),

OH NO YOU DIDN'T.

Love,
A fan.

Dear Mr. Alpert,

How old are you? How are you so well-preserved? (Seriously, you look damn good for someone who must be 50 or 55 at the absolute youngest and in all likelihood is past 60.) And how much more awesome can you stand to get before you die or the show ends?

Love and curiosity,
A fan.

P.S.: I'm very sorry to have doubted the thickness of your eyelashes. It appears they're not loading huge amounts of eyeliner on your actor after all.

Dear Mr. Locke,

You know, some days it seems that whenever a character starts getting properly curious about things...

Love which may very soon have to turn to pining,
A fan.

Dear Messrs. Ford and Jarrah,

Looks like a lot of it's on you now. I have faith in you two. But couldn't one of you have stood to ask Dr. Shephard something to the effect of "Well, don't you think maybe we could've helped?" when he said he was keeping that whole business secret due to not knowing what to do about it?

Love (and just a little bit of leering),
A fan.

Dear Mr. Kwon,

I fully expect to see you in JIN SMASH mode once you've got the full measure of what's going on with your wife. I'll be readying the popcorn next Wednesday.

Love,
A fan.

Ok, this episode was very good in a WTF kind of way. No Skate, but that's ok, because until Kate straightens out and gets over her Jack trust issues, any Skate will be half-a**ed anyway. ITA with everyone who is on the "Jack is a dork" wagon. Could he BE any more pompous? Sheesh!

The whole Jacob thing reminded me of one of the supernatural episodes of X-files. I actually did see a man sitting in the chair in the cabin, then a flash of an eye that wasn't Locke's or Ben's. And the voice was way weird. :shifty: What was that ring of ash around the cabin that Jacob is being kept in? I say "being kept" because I'm thinking that somehow Ben has imprisoned Jacob or the power that he knows as Jacob and maybe that ash is some kind of barrier or by-product of the barrier? It's just wild spec, but who knows?

Why did Alex give Locke a gun when she heard he was going to see Jacob? What exactly does she know about Jacob? Would a gun even work on an "invisible man" or "manifestation" of the island or who-knows-what?

If finding Lost characters hot were creepy, I think most of us here would be in it deep. And even in the specific case of Richard (island-time or flashback), you seem to be in good company.

there is a "reveal" at the end that when she read it she had goosebumps all over her body & was beside herself with excitement!:eh: :shifty:

I assume this will have to do with whatever they said they will reveal about Jack & hopefully it has to do with a dark side!;)

someone handing Claire a gun--maybe big brother-- after Charlie dies (which I am not spoiler fonting b/c that is PURE spec on my part). Her hands are bloody which meant whoever she is was taking care of someone and that could be C/C.

I think people we don't expect to arm up will be arming up. Rose and Bernard are taking target practice with Sayid in the promo, so Claire could totally use a gun, but whose taking care of Aaron

So, I'll post what I posed on TWoP and see what you guys think:

So, did you notice Charlie's Driveshaft ring in the promo? Its in Aaron's cradle. From this I draw 2 conclusions: 1) Claire is still a crappy mom putting something Aaron can easily choke on in his crib (as a mother, I STILL cannot get over the fact that in ML she gave him that dirty bootie that she picked up in the medical hatch) and 2) Charlie really might be a goner. Claire keeps it after he dies and saves it to show Aaron who his "daddy" was.

And if then I will sob. Because I must be the only living Lost viewer who loves that damn junkie.

(p.s. : Do I have to spolier tag any of that? Its pure spec and based on a US aired promo. Sorry--still getting used to the spoiler threads on this forum. It totally confounds me that you guys have to use spoiler tags in spoiler threads but... rules of the house, so I am trying to follow them. ;) )

Ok maybe "crappy" was too strong a word, but I guess it's because I'm more interested in the human aspect of the show than in the mythology. Also, I'm not really interested in Ben's story...and I don't like it when the show goes a little too sci-fi/fantasy for my taste, this is not "Supernatural" after all.

Of course, you don't have to agree with me in the least:p But, we can all agree on our love for SKate:D

You see a very quick flash of Jacob - but really can only see it if you pause at just the right moment.
It's uber-creepy...
I don't know what to think about Jacob and who he really is or *what* he is for that matter...and why hasn't Richard Alpert aged at all since Ben first met him?

Jacob was like the blimbly Blair Witch - what's with the milking of 10pm :giggle:  but it was all very creepy (I thought Jacob was going to be Ben's Mummy for a bit :o)

Richard Alpert doesn't age!! He is immortal in hotness. Now we just need to form a petition to get him to grow his hair long again and put him in dirty clothes  :giggle: :o. Why does Jacob want Ben's help and how did Ben kill everyone with a tiny gas cannister?! And did he kill Annie too?! Or did she die in pregnantness? Even if it wasn't Ben's. Would fit in with Ben's childhood and his current obsession. And why were the Dharma initiative still stuck in the 70s in the 90s or whenever. Who are the 'hostlies' and Kate didn't even notice Sawyer was missing so pah. I only just realised we didn't ever get to see what Jack did have to say but I hope it at least begins with 'I have a cunning plan' so that I can be slighty amused.

Jacob has something to with the volcano, or volcano has something to do with Jacob, 'cause Locke found ashes on Jacob's chair and everywhere around the house.
So there might be a relation between the volcano in science class at the beginning of the episode and what happened with young Ben & Anny, the volcano on the island and what happened in the house with Jacob.

Crystal, what if the showdown thing is a foiler to put us off? There is NO OFFICIAL news about any showdowns. The only Official news about the finale is about Jack's plan. " Jack and the castaways begin their efforts to make contact with Naomi's rescue ship."

Awww, those pics! I just want to hug him!

Locke – I didn’t like that he took credit for killing Cooper. After all Sawyer went through with him, then Locke goes to Ben for his own reasons and says he killed him. I was shocked when Ben shot Locke, but I don’t think he’s dead. Yet.

Sawyer and the tape – It’s ok that they didn’t show him playing it for Kate because of the look on his face after Sayid told him to, we know he did and that he knew she would be upset. So when he played it for the group, she didn’t seem surprised because she knew what it would say, but also now everyone knows it’s possible that she may be pregnant. They had to have suspected she and Sawyer were together, especially after the hug in OOU. :)

Jack – How stupid is he? :blank: He should have told them all what was happening and work together for a plan. It affects all of them, especially all the women, not just Kate. And his plans never work out – LTDA they got captured, now people are going to die because of his selfish plans.

The bloody hand in the promo – maybe Rousseau? She always has on a dark shirt. Or Sun. Her shirt is dark too. Or Claire, since Charlie’s Driveshaft ring is in Aaron’s crib. But unless Kate has changed clothes from all the pictures we've seen, it's not her.

Maybe Jack and Juliet found Rousseau and that’s why she got the dynamite? She wants Alex away from Ben and J/J could be working with her.

Jacob - :eh:

Does anyone think that Danielle might be a grown up Annie?

Assuming that Annie was safely off the island at the time of the purge, or that Ben took measures to make sure she survived the purge if she was still there, it is possible, isn't it? We know that Danielle became a scientist and that she was pregnant when she crashed on the island in her boat, but we know nothing of her life before that.

It would certainly explain why Ben felt a kinship to Alex and why, after sixteen years, the Others have let her live in relative peace on the island. Maybe bringing any harm to Danielle is prohibited by Ben.

Could Danielle have become so crazy that she doesn't even remember ever living there as a child? Does she have the "Ben doll" to match his "Annie doll"?

Just a thought,

Good episode. I loved little Ben and Annie. (Annie is such a cute name!)

Whoa.... Jacob.... is Ben's imaginary friend?! j/k. But it was so cool when he said "Help me."

And BAM! When Ben shot Locke... I was so suprised! My dad totally saw it coming but I didn't!

And Sawyer's face: AWWWWW! I liked how he and Kate looked at each other when they mentioned the pregnancy during the group convo. But damn, where's my precious Juliet's screentime?

The flashbacks were good, but totally left me wanting more. I sincerely hope Ben doesn't die... there is so much to tell of his story. And Richard (WTF?! he hasn't aged in 30 years?!) was awesome too.

Surely Locke will die from that. The island doesn't save everyone after all...even if you're special.
When the ep ended it reminded me of when Nikki & Paolo died - that eerie music, the zooming out from the grave - plus very poetical the way he dies - in a mass grave. Also reminded me of Owen Wilson in 'Behind Enemy Lines' as he was in the mass grave.

Jacket...okay. But our famine is getting worse. Claire & Charlie are getting some action next week (ominous for Charlie isn't it) - when will it be Jacket's turn?? You gotta please all of the shippers the Jaters & Skaters have both got what they wanted in the past it's OUR TURN please!!

Exec producer Carlton Cuse offers this exclusive tease about the show's two-hour, sure-to-be-blockbuster season finale on May 22: "Let's just say the end of the season features a showdown between Jack and Locke — a showdown long anticipated and a showdown with an extremely significant outcome for the future of the castaways."

Well there we have it, the "game changer" involves Jack & someone else?...........

I think that pretty much confirms it's btw Jack & Locke!;)

Also that pic of Jacob freaked me out when I saw it because I never saw that at all!:eh:

Am I the only one who cracked up at Ben clutching and screaming at an empty chair? :rotflol:
I couldn't take that scene seriously. I tried, but I just couldn't.

Jack is a pud. And I'll wager that no one will have anything to say about the fact that he didn't tell anyone that the Others are coming to take their women until the freaking last minute. I can't wait for the Henry V speech from Jack before the battle.

'now we know why rousseau was getting dynamite from the black rock, must be in cahoots with jack and juliette '

'You got it! That's where Jack & Juliet disappeared off to in last night's episode - they went to meet Danielle!'

I was thinking the same thing. Juliet has been on the island for 3 years so she must have run into Danielle at some point. It would be awesome if Juliet and Danielle have working together this whole time.

I think there is something up with Danielle. I think she knows more then she's saying or she's lying. After this ep I think she might be Annie (an accent can be faked) Annie gave Ben dolls for his birthday and Danielle uses dolls for bait in her traps.

Did anyone else notice that a close-up of an eye was shown briefly when things went all wild and crazy at Jacob's place? I've rewatched that scene a few times and I'm sure the eye isn't Ben's nor Locke's. So if Jacob is someone we already know, maybe a screencap of that moment could help us guess his identity. Anyone?

BTW, I saw screencaps of Jacob at Dark's site, however, am I the only one who didn't see him while watching the scene?!.. When did they show him..?

Insane episode! I'm glad that they explained the purge, I liked that Ben's responsible for it. That island seriously changes you, for the worse. First we see Juliet all mousy and then suddenly cold and take-charge. And now we see that it changed Ben as well. Very interesting. I see foreshadowing that Locke may become a new leader for the Others. People seem to be impressed by him and Ben seems none too pleased. The Jacob scene was freaky, loved the voice and the flash of the guy! I don't believe that Locke is really dead because he'll be back in the finale for the showdown with Jack. I have a feeling either the island or Jacob will heal him.

Sawyer + Sayid = awesome! I loved how they went up against everyone who wanted to side with Jack. They're basically saying what I would have said if I was in their situation. So great! Jack having some heroic plan feels really contrived and it lacks originality, but what else is new? :blank:

I find it weird that Kate's not making a bigger deal out of the fact that she may be pregnant. I was expecting more from her short scene with Sawyer, actually. There needs to be something! If I was Kate, I'd be freaking out!

Jack is a pud. And I'll wager that no one will have anything to say about the fact that he didn't tell anyone that the Others are coming to take their women until the freaking last minute. I can't wait for the Henry V speech from Jack before the battle.

I enjoyed this episode, but mainly because it answered a lot of questions. We got to finally "see" Jacob. Reminded me of Psycho. It sure seems like the writers are "borrowing" from other movies a lot.

What I liked:

..."Mikhail, I thought you were dead?!" :giggle:
...Locke beating the crap out of Mikhail.
...Sayid scowling at Kate, clearly ticked at her for telling Jack their secret.
...Sawyer's totally beat, defeated expressions. But then he still stands up to Jack about the tape when the time comes.
...Claire and Sun saying it DOES matter that the world believes them to be dead. It DOES matter, Sayid. "That's not important now." I felt like I was watching Airplane!, the movie. :giggle:
...Ben and his gas mask, then sitting there while daddy dies? He's some weird cat! Eeeevil! (But weren't we supposed to find out that the Others AREN'T evil? That they have good reasons for what they do? Who said that?)

What I didn't like:

...Sawyer didn't know enough to listen to the flip side of the tape?! D'oh! But of course not, otherwise the writers wouldn't be able to work in the whole Juliet moment. Ugh! My patience is waning. (I say Darlton and company clean house this summer...in the writers' room.)

...So Jack and Juliet find out, from the flip side of the tape, that the Others are coming, and yet they tell no one?! Kate's involved, and if she's pregnant, it's Sawyer's child, and yet JACK is calling the shots, deciding what's to be done? JACK?! Who hasn't had a plan work, like EVER?! Give me a break! Sawyer needs to tear Jack and new one. Really. If Jin and Sawyer don't come down on Jack for this secret planning stuff, then I'm not sure how much longer I can suffer through this show. Jack's an ass of the first degree, and yet these Losties walk around in a daze, as if he's not doing the things he's doing. Again, poor writing.

...Naomi comes out with "Don't you all want to be rescued?" out of the blue. What the hell was that about? WHO said they didn't want to be rescued? I never heard that. :eh:

...So Locke can go crazy beating Mikhail, a guy he barely knows, but he can't kill his dad, who's been tormenting him for years, a guy who crippled him, even? Ugh!

...So Richard is HOW much older than Ben? Give me a break! (Although I think Nestor is a hottie, always has been since his Suddenly Susan days. He's always had those "dark" eyes. I wonder what's up with that? I like deelee's avi! :giggle: )

...Richard is believable in a suit and tie, but NOT in rags living in the jungle. It felt very "produced," costumey, theatrical. Dumb.

...Where's Annie? Do you mean to tell me they gassed the entire community? And the people OUTSIDE fell victim to the gas as well? How? Or are we to believe the victims ran from inside to the outdoors and then collapsed? Oookay.

...Young Ben was about as convincing as young Anakin(sp?) Skywalker. Enough said.

...And Ben sitting next to his "much older" dad in the van? Dad's clearly made up to look older, and yet it's still not convincing. It detracted from that moment for me.

...We saw/heard nothing to indicate that Kate missed Sawyer when he was gone for an entire day. He's even distressed, and wearing the same clothing, and yet nothing from her. And then when they're at the group meeting, Kate is clearly still upset at Sayid for not trusting Jack. I give up. Really. The writers will do as they see fit, and that means totally destroying this great character they created. Whatever. Have at it. Just don't take Sawyer down with her, or else that's really the final straw for me.

...Why, praytell, was Sawyer hiding in the bushes until he saw Sayid? It's not like anyone even missed him while he was gone, so why hide? Seriously, why didn't he just mosey on over to Sayid and ask him to come with him for a private discussion? :banghead:

Annie died during pregnancy? I missed that! How did I miss that? You're not talking about Ben's mom, are you?

Ben's mom died during her 7th month. That's the third trimester. I was hoping that would mean something, but apparently not, as the islanders are dying in their second trimester.

Ben's one whacked-out kid. I think the people on the island made him feel powerful and loved, and that's why he chose the "island" over his dad. It looks like the same thing is happening to Locke. Ben feels threatened by Locke, so he takes him out.

I haven't yet made the connection between the gun from Alex and the gun that Ben used to shoot Locke. The same gun or not? Did Locke lose it in the scuffle? Did anyone notice? I need to rewatch the episode.

(And yeah, Ben's mom-in-the-window moment? Totally freaky and unexpected. Great! But I thought it was an Other, and not his mom. So I didn't make that connection until after Ben ran away and saw his "mom" again. )

We don't know she died, just think she *might* died, ergo Ben's crazy baby-making schemes. Perhaps he genuinely believes he's saving the pregnant women. Ethan: "We're a good family." Maybe they think they're heroes.

Thanks for clarifying. I couldn't remember Ben's mom's name.

But I'm still confused over this issue. I don't remember seeing Annie pregnant or dying. Are you just speculating then, like taterbot mentioned? I'm trying to figure out if I missed something. I don't remember seeing a grown up Annie at all, or any signs that their friendship continued, that she remained on the island, etc.

I'm curious, as I want to know where Alex came from. Could she be Ben's biological daughter after all? Could Annie be the biological mother? Is Danielle more wacky than we originally thought? And where IS Danielle, with the dynamite, anyway? No mention of her, no Locke telling Ben. Nothing.

I don't there's any concrete evidence that Annie died in childbirth - people were just speculating that it could explain why Ben is so obsessed with pregnant women on the island.

And the Danielle/Annie theory is interesting - but I see one major problem with it. Danielle has a French accent. (Well, okay, it's actually... what, Romanian?.. but it's supposed to be French.) Little Annie had a perfectly standard American accent. I don't see how she could have developed a foreign accent growing up on the island, unless she was brainwashed and made to believe she had a different history.

I agree that there's no way Danielle is Annie, unless: the accent is fake, "Annie" was off-island for a looong accent-building time, or the island has a "French Quarter." So I doubt Annie is Danielle. But I DO like the spec that something happened to Annie and it's what drives wacky Ben to taking pregnant women and children. But then that means MORE Ben flashbacks to explain the Annie thing. So how long are the Losties going to deal with the Others? I was hoping the end of this season is IT. Then it's back to dealing with other issues...like surviving, rescue, etc. But if there's so much more to Ben's story, then that means it has to be tied up soon, or else we're in Otherville next season, too.

Looks like Desmond to me! Even though that sitting figure does not much look like Des, this really does, to me at least. Is it possible that Desmond is "seeing" all of this and has been spliced into the scene?
(slomo of Jacob scene here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=479HkrFTZiI&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Flosteastereggs%2Eblogspot%2Ecom% 2F))

What do you think?

Oh, and on Danielle/Annie--yes I suppose it's possible from severe psychological trauma Annie could believe herself to be French and create this other story for herself in her head--BUT it doesn't explain how she can magically speak French fluently (albeit with a funky accent). So...I don't think Danielle can be Annie. :(

One word for this episode: Whoa! For me the creppyness factor was higher than the pilot, I enjoyed every second even those when I hated Jack, what a self-centered idiot. He knows the Others are coming and he keeps this to himself? Seriously? But that means he did not know about it til last episode so before that, he is a gullible moron.

And Locke is not dead, the island will heal him, I have faith in the island and if Jacob is the personification of the island, I have faith in him. I sound almost as crazy as Locke. Jacob wants to get rid of Ben, who was his "chosen" one til then and now Locke is special. But why not Jack, he saw his dad, who died off the island as well.

Why doesn't Richard get any older? Is he the only original Other, or are Tom, Pickett and so on as well? Does Dharma know about the purge, they are still sending food, why would they do that if they knew all their people are dead?

:banghead:

You said everything I thought much better then I could express, so I'll just borrow your post .:p

Man! I need to hurry up and watch the entire episode. I feel so out of the loop. :)

Ditto. :shifty:

I saw the Des eye/Jacob eye pics on Dark's page earlier today and they are definitely very similar. As it Tom's face shape and Jacob's. I like the spec about Desmond possibly being Jacob Thea, although i'm at a loss as to how they would explain that one. Desmond's 'flashes' are always about future events, or that's what we've seen anyway. For him to be Jacob then some sort of parallel universe thing must be going on, because Desmond couldn't be Desmond and Jacob at the same time. Maybe Desmond has 'seen' this and he is being spliced into it in some way. All this is is too weird, i can't even make up some random crazy spec to explain it... But i haven't seen the ep yet. :p

I am so sad and shocked.

Locke is my second favorite right after Sawyer (even exaequo I would say) and is he is really dead (I must say that I'm reading you guys and I have some hope I didn't have just after I saw the episode) then two third of Lost is dead to me.

My money is on jacob (whatever the F it is) takes over John Locke's body...so Terry stays and Locke is now truly the embodiment of the island and this is how the rumored Jack/Locke showdown happens and Locke is Spoiler: the rattlesnake he comes back from the dead in time to lead the Others and kill some Losties.
Interesting theory Get Lost, Jacob made me think about Voldemort in Harry Potter.

The episode was great, and little Ben was fantastic.;)
So sad about the end and the Jacob scene was really strange (HP-like to me too).

Richard looked like robin hood in the jungle:giggle:

It was so good to see Sawyer is waiting for Sayid, that he really trusts him:w00t:
I have to watch the episode again for the beachies because I'm too much focalized on the Ben/Locke's story.:(

Regarding Richard's aging, or lack thereof: I suspect the floppy hair and such was an attempt at lopping 15 or 20 years off him...except it's been longer than that if Ben is in his late forties (or so Jack judges at the sight of his X-rays). And hey, if TPTB didn't want us speculating about what's up with all this, they could've found a younger actor and had young Richard introduce himself so that we'd know it's the same guy rather than just giving Nestor Carbonell flashback hair. (Also, like I wrote earlier, Richard is most likely somewhere around 60, give or take a little, assuming he was a normal man of 25-27 when he met little Ben in the jungle and things aren't even hinkier than I thought. If they meant him to be a normal 60-year-old man, they'd never have hired Nestor Carbonell, a handsome, well-preserved 40-year-old, to play him in the first place.)

Conclusion: Hink-tastic!

I definitely think the whole Richard thing was meant to show us that "natives" don't age, or if they do it's at an incredibly slow rate. One of the first things Ben says to Richard in this epsiode is "You do remember birthdays, don't you, Richard?" in that sarcastic voice when Richard comes into his tent. The question makes sense later when you realize that Richard hasn't aged in thirty or forty years.

Im not sure what was up about the Richard ageing thing....either it was a lame attempt of ageing him or it has some sort of significance.

However what i would like to know , is how the little boy Ben ended up in charge of the grown man Richard?? Why is Ben the leader of the others if there were people older and wiser than him ? How did that happen :eh:

A rather small thing, but what exactly did Locke mean when he talked to Kate in the Others' hobby room? He pleaded her case and the Others are not forgiving people so she is left behind. They don't like that she killed her dad? Because from TB and last episode, that should be right up their alley.

Richards aging or lack of aging was intentional, no idea is up there, but it was a good wtf moment, lol, first I yelped because he was suddenly standing there and then I yelped because I realized he was looking the same when in fact he should be younger than Ben. I just wonder why he as an original Other left the island later on. And could the 70 year old womb in the 26 year old woman from NIP have something to do with this, they only age inside not outside. Does that mean Sawyer would be forever pretty? /shallow.

Aaron is just a tv-baby, they usually use older children to play newborns.

Maybe they age at a slow rate to keep from dying? I mean, all the pregnant women die, so there's no new people to counter the deaths. Eventually everyone would be gone. An anti-aging process could be preventing that from happening. :eh:

Hey guys seen the episode.
What an episode. since we found out about the others all I wanted to know is there story to pull me in. Well other than Skate of cours.
So it was nice to see how it all went on and what it was about.

Ben keeps saying he was born in this island. And as we saw he wasn't. So I'm thinking his talking about him being born again in this island. ;)

I didn't read yet all you guys post so sorry if this was said. But the van that he killed his dad in I think that it was the van that Hurley found. And Ben's dad was still there.

Again we saw that the father issues that most of the losties have it goes so far as to Ben.

And I don't think Jacob is Desmond. I think it's Richard. He didn't get older he just cut his hair.

I think Locke is dead and the island heald him because he is one with the island. :p

I really wanted for Ben to have the last two episode for this season. His story are nice to watch but now we have to watch Jack again. But It could be ok if they will show us the others and there life.

I didn't like Kate egnoring James here and I was so happy that they showd us that Sayid is mad at Kate. Maybe it will teach her a lesson or Kate does not care.

I hate wans again and even though I saw it coming that they will show us that Jack is the hero again and evryone should be ashamed for doubting and not trusting that Jack knows best and he is better then evryone else.
And something else were did Jack and Juliet go. Could they went to look for the tape and didn't find it and came back to were evryone else heard it. I can't exspres how much I hate Jack and hope he does not make it to season 4.
He remind me of Pru in Charmed. She was perfect at evrything she does. She had the best Job, the best powers, the best lines, and she was always right. I was so glad she was killed of the show. It gave the rest of the actresses a chanse.

I think literally every single review I've read of TMBTC today has been heavy on the Jack-hate, so there's no point bringing them all here - but this one in particular, from UGO (which is a pretty major television site), really cracked me up.

http://www.ugo.com/ugo/html/article/?id=17283&sectionId=7

Back at the camp, Sayid and Sawyer are rallying the troops in anger toward Jack and Juliet, who are clearly keeping secrets. They've found the tape that Juliet made for Ben, announcing the results of Sun's ultrasound, and play it back to her as an indictment. Juliet calmly requests that they flip the tape - the other side has Ben announcing his plans to infiltrate the Losties the next day. The Losties look stunned, ask Jack why he hadn't told them, and he replies that he hadn't yet decided what to do, and they need to catch up. Are we supposed to be impressed? If I were Sayid, I think I'd haul off and punch Jack into next year. His week with the Others appeared to rub off - his self-righteousness is off the charts, like a bona fide Other. He hadn't decided? Shut your stupid fat doctor face, Jack.

Danielle could be Annie but I think it'd be EXTREME to jump to that conclusion right at this moment. Hmmm...

I think that someone said that the producers said that Locke was the one who squares off against Jack, but I really find that unlikely at this moment. There's only 1 day (the day after tomorrow Ben said) until the Others go to the Losties camp and duke it out and unless Locke can heal & kill/depose of Ben in the next 24-ish hours - it ain't going to happen. Even if Locke is 'special'.
Now I'm starting to wonder if the producers infact just said that to throw us off and not suspect Locke's death last ep - I mean that was just a total shock to the system and NOBODY saw it coming. NOBODY!!

Maybe the cost of original island inhabitants like Richard not aging is that no new inhabitants can be born.

Maybe Jacob is 400 years old.

Maybe the island and/or Jacob are unhappy with that bad man Ben and is punishing him by having unborn babies kill their mothers, like his father made him fear he did to his mother.

Maybe, maybe, maybe...

Whenever some answers are given, more questions are posed.

I like the idea that Richard's much older than he looks. :)

I almost feel sorry for Ben. The reason he's so obsessed with the pregnant women dying is probably that, on some level, he really does blame himself for his mother's death. Having all the pregnant women die might be one of his worst nightmares. Could Jacob be behind that?

Yeah well i've seen spoilers claiming that it was a sawyer/jack showdown but also locke/jack showdown. I think it's possible that it will actually be a sawyer/jack showdown but the locke/jack showdown was thrown in there to throw us off track?

I'm still not entirely sure whether locke will die. a few eps ago i wanted him to die but now i'm interested in his "relationship" with jacob.

about the Danielle/Annie thing. I also think that's possible. Maybe before ben and albert killed dharma, ben gave the heads up to "annie" to run away. They mighta had a relationship still when they were older. Annie/Danielle ran away and gave birth to Alex which explains why Danielle and Ben both call Alex their child. The more I think about it the more i get confused loll

I can't wait till the finale!! but then the season will be over :(

Arachne, I almost felt bad for Benry, too. Why is that? Darn you, Micheal Emerson, you exceptionally talented bug eyed bastard! :giggle:

Looks like just about all the characters have gotten a chance to confront/ask for forgiveness their mothers, but most importantly their fathers (in one form or another) with varying results. Benry asking his father about him truly blaming him for his mothers death reminded me of James' comment to Jack in 'Exodus I' when he said kids were like dogs, kick enough times they think they did something to deserve it. :( I seriously want the writing staff to go into group therapy to deal with their collective parental issues. :eh:

You know, I don't think any of the "leaders" of the camp necessarily want to take over leadership of the camp as opposed to being kept well informed about what the heck is going on. Jack returns to their camp, an enemy in tow and says, "She's under my protection. You don't like it, tough." Excuse us? Why in the world would anyone sit still for that? It's not only condescending and presumptuous, it's foolish on Jack's part.

As Sayid asked Juliet, "Who are you people? And why are you terrorizing us?" Legitimate questions that for some reason Jack feels she shouldn't have to answer. Why is that Jack? If Juliet (lord knows I love her) is on the up and up as you feel or want her to believe you think she is (boy that was convoluted) then there should have been no problem informing the group of your plans, and doing your best to tame any logical mistrust.

Speaking of issues with Jack's arrogance, Entil's review (http://www.entil2001.com/series/lost/season3/lost3-20.html) is up. Loved this part...

Back on the beach, the anticipated showdown between Jack and Juliet and just about everyone else finally takes place, but it's not much to speak of, since the Ben/Locke plot dominates. In short, it's confirmed that Jack and Juliet are working together to stage a defense against the Others' incursion, but they've been keeping those plans to themselves. The rest of the leadership (Sawyer, Sayid, and Desmond) is not pleased, especially since Jack seems to think his decision is the only one that matters. This is likely to erupt into a major conflict through the end of the season.

I liked that look between them very much. Sawyer and Sayid consult. Jack dictates. And of course the scene made no sense in the first place because anybody would have thought of listen to the other side of the tape, so Sayid and Sawyer are made to look like idiots for not thinking of it so Juliet can have her little dramatic moment.

Dumbest episode they've ever done... except for SIASL of course. Right from the opening... giving birth in the woods to a gigantic 7 month-infant? Sure. In Oregon... in late December.... in a lush green forest... and they're helped by people driving in a convertible with the top down.... in Oregon in late December. And he was within running distance of the highway but didn't just pick up his wife and run to flag down a car the minute she went into labor because???? That whole mess of an opening was all so they could show that sign saying 32 miles to Portland. Dumb.

They've always been sloppy about stuff like that and it's always irritated me. That just got me started the episode in a bad mood with them. Then we had the trite, "Call him Benjamin," death scene. Let's go for the clichés then.

Then there's the whole Dharma thing. FINALLY, we'll find out something about them. Nope. Still no clue what their specific activities were because all we saw was the receiving area. What projects were they working on? Did they have any success? What did they learn about the island? Give me something. Nope. But hey - they had a fleet of blue vans and lots of Dharma beer. Dumb.

Back to the beach for about 1.6 minutes, just long enough for me to realize why I've been enjoying S3 so much - Jack-hero-leader was on the sidelines! Now... he's back. And the minute he is, the other characters turn into cardboard cut-outs again to service his story about how he tried so hard to keep everybody safe. (My guess is that he'll fail, and we'll have to watch him have a crisis about all the people that died because HIS plan was crap and he FAILED. ZOMG!) Somebody should have lit into him for keeping the up-coming attack a secret from them... somebody actually human rather than made of cardboard. Dumb.

Then we had volcano making with water and bicarbonate of soda. Not without acid. So much for the "good education" Ben was getting. Dumb.
And an open grave in the jungle that hasn't gotten covered over by vegetation within a couple of months, much less years? Dumb.

And in between, we had Jacob. Really? You're going with a chair and a poltergeist for this big reveal? Okay then. Dumb.

And Locke getting shot by the guy who killed his own father and his entire village so HE could be the SPECIAL one ... and Locke - after being given a gun and a warning by the guy's own daughter, mind you - is caught totally by surprise by this nut job? Dumb.

If I had to sum up this entire episode with one word, can you guess what it would be? :p

Then we had volcano making with water and bicarbonate of soda. Not without acid. So much for the "good education" Ben was getting. Dumb.
And an open grave in the jungle that hasn't gotten covered over by vegetation within a couple of months, much less years? Dumb.

And Locke getting shot by the guy who killed his own father and his entire village so HE could be the SPECIAL one ... and Locke - after being given a gun and a warning by the guy's own daughter, mind you - is caught totally by surprise by this nut job? Dumb.

Excellent observations! I didn't catch some of these blunders. And that's exactly what they are, blunders. Somebody's slipping up in their job, that's for sure!

I actually liked this episode, though, despite the errors I saw. I think that's because I've given up; I've lowered my expectations. Which is sad, really, as these mistakes are easy to fix.

The cassette tape thing was the most frustrating for me, as we're talking Sawyer and Sayid. Besides the fact that they ARE intelligent, and it doesn't take much intelligence to know how to operate a tape recorder, Sayid used to be a communications officer! So yeah, just dumb. I yelled at my TV on that one.

Excellent catching that issue of the open grave! Or could it all be staged? Like with the tents/huts in Otherville #1, where Michael was taken? We know these Others are into theatrics.

Jacob, to me, looks just like Tom. And we know Tom likes to play dress-up and pretend. The room was dark, noises, distractions...

As for the gun that Alex gave Locke, I'm wondering if that's the same gun that Ben shot him with? I need to rewatch, as I have the feeling Locke dropped it in the scuffle. Or am I just hoping? It would make more sense to me. Because like you said, if Locke had the gun on him, he would've used it. He could even have pulled it out as he was laying there in the grave, looking up at Ben.

Lyly, the promo pic are great! Thanks!

Anyone else notice that Juliet sort of looks like Benry's late mother? His comment to Jack about how Juliet resembles Sarah makes even more sense why he would be fixated on Juliet himself.

Dez (Big Dez :D ) you touched on all the things that I noticed were just a beat off about this episode as well. I can't tell if it's the writers attempt to try and stall in order to build up as much anticipation, momentum as we seque into the finale, or if they're about ready to cream their pants in showing us the BIG REVEAL for the finale, and simply don't consider etching out the finer details as important. Either way, it leaves the episode feeling choppy and not very sophisticated.

Having said that, the saving grace of this episode was the performances Emerson and O'Quinn put in. Flawless. Pure class acts, and it's just a wonder to behold how complimentary yet stylistically different they are as actors. It was the same with Yunjin and Elizabeth in D.O.C. They make great acting decisions in what they want, or don't want to the audience to perceive about what their characters are thinking or feeling.

Btw, Terry O'Quinn is one good looking older gentlemen. He has a beautiful face. ;)

Sayid and James...you two beautiful, beautiful, beautiful men. I loved the way that James waited until he came upon Sayid to share the contents on that tape. They make a great dynamic. Throw some Desmond into the mix...have mercy. :thud: Sayid's exasperated response to Kate was perfect. You know, I get that Kate wants to trust Jack...there's nothing wrong with that, but when it's obvious that something is afoot...and she knows something isn't right, chill until you have more information. :sigh:

I also dug the knowing nod Sayid and James exchanged before he turned the tape over to play to the group. Didn't quite get the look Kate threw James before he did it. Could've been a bad acting decision on Evi's part. Wouldn't be the first time, but whatever. About neither playing the other side of the tape, I'm not sure if it necessarily took anything away (intellectually speaking), because it confirmed why they were suspicious and had reason to distrust Juliet and Jack by extension. However, the dramatic impact it was meant to have fell flat like most of that scene. I can only hope that the writers intend to get into the meat of that discussion in the following episode, because otherwise...big disappointment. DI-A-LOUGE!!!!! It's frakkin' time these people started TALKING!!!!

All and all...I thought the episode was good. Hopefully (hopefully) the next Benry-centric episode will give us a look into what Dharma was studying and if they were at all successful at their work.

In re the weather: Are we ever once told it's Oregon? There are many Portlands in the world; someone on Lostpedia pointed out one in Texas that may be more amenable. And as for the size of baby Ben, well, there's TV shorthand for you. They can't very well use a real premature newborn—child welfare and all. And hey, at least there was some amount of birth gunk this time! Remember when Aaron was born? (But why on earth were they hiking with her that far along, no matter where they were?)

In re Jacob: All those visions of Walt and dead relatives and frog knows who else that people have been seeing on this island? The parapsychology research we're told in the Swan orientation film that Dharma was doing? Mark my words, Jacob's going to hook right in there.

I have to agree with those taking a little issue with our few minutes with the beach camp, though. I can see our boys getting a little excited and thinking the message from Juliet they heard was enough to get the entire camp on-side and they'd think about the rest later, but still, shouldn't someone have thought along the way to check the rest of the tape?

Darbi

Right? Why were they hiking with the woman that far along in her pregnancy? Seems like they could've come up with a dozen different scenarios besides that one.

About the tape and not listening to both sides, maybe it's just me, but how did that change anything about the predicament facing the camp? They still know that the 'Others' are coming for the woman. When they listened to it doesn't change that disturbing fact. Or did I hear Benry's message wrong?

Yeah, I didn't get what the big deal was about the rest of the tape, except that it added a bit of detail.

Do you think the Jacob scene was the "jump the shark" moment we were told about? Certainly people seem to love it or hate it.

Yes, they made it clear it was Portland, OR in Juliet's episode. There were some landmarks they used that were obvious. However, I live in Oregon, not in Portland, and it does not look like that in the winter. It's that green, but it would be soggy and no one in their right or wrong mind would be driving in a convertible with the top down unless they wanted to drown.

I thought it was obvious they were references 'Not In Portland' Oregon, too. But since I didn't catch Benry's actual birthdate, I blew past the fact that the weather conditions would be completely different for that time of year in Oregon. Actually, I'm not sure if it was December in Portland, Texas (where ever that's at) it would be warm enough to be riding top down.

Yeah I know what you mean. And What Ben said in the tape is what Locke told James. That the Others will come in 3 days to get the pregnant women.
But I think they made that So they would see that Juliet is on there team being that she has already told Jack about the Ben's plan.

What bothered me about the whole tape recorder thing is that Sawyer ALREADY knew the others were coming for the pregnant women in 3 days because Locke told him. He didn't need to hear it on the tape recorder. Why didn't Sawyer tell Sayid that part after he showed him the tape? Isn't that just as important (if not more) as Juliet being a mole?

One other thing, how would Juliet know that they hadn't listened to the other side of the tape? Whether they had listened to it or not, it didn't change the fact that she is/was indeed a mole and that the 'Others' were coming into their camp to take the pregnant and suspected pregnant women.

Like you guys said, it was a reason to give Juliet and Jack a dramatic entrance that failed miserably. If they were going for dramatic, then actually having those two in camp to face the questions they should have been answering days ago would've served them better.

She told Jack all about it, so that somehow makes her less of a mole. She also wanted to tell Kate about it, it looks as if she changed her mind after seeing Baby Kwon. I just don't buy that, it is too obvious imo. The fact that they use a tape-recorder for communication, wouldn't pen and paper have the same effect? Ben just happens to listen to the tape while he waits for Locke? The strange way of refering to the time of the attack "the night after tomorrow", yet Ben recorded it yesterday, so when are they coming? I guess there is something else going on, some kind of double cross with Juliet.

I think they went to the plain to prepare the boom-show. But I agree, where was the point in stopping the conversation when it was about to get interesting. The question that remains is why Jack did not tell the rest of the losties about the Others plan? So he could come up with a decision? I think protecting Juliet would have been a better, less assy answer.

I was making a parallel with screencraps between Alice in Wonderland and the episode on our French forum and it led to a discussion about the parallels between Ben and Kate that I thought were quite interesting, so I asked my friend (Hélia:waves:  ) if I could translate her post and mine to share it with you:

Kate uses Annie as her first alias when she is a fugitive, like Ben's mother and Annie in the same episode Kate wears a "rubbon" in her hair.
Kate ate an Apollo bar just like Annie offers one to Ben.
They both have freckles lol.
Kate and Ben's common point is obviously that they both killed their father literrally; both with the use of gas (Kate used it as a way to blow up the house).
Both Wayne and Roger were alcoholic, and there're similar scenes with Ben and Kate helping their drunked father to put out their shoe on the bed/sofa:
http://gallery.lost-media.com/albums/ep-caps/season2/2x09-kate/1/normal_kate-cap079.jpg

Hélia also underlined that in LB Locke told Kate that the Others could accept her because of what she did, but Ben killed his father and a whole community...and they push Locke to kill his own father as a sacrfice to the community.

The scene in which Annie offers Ben the dolls and the fact that Ben is keeping it, reminds Tom's little toy plane that Kate is keeping. Perhaps Ben felt guilty about something which happened to Annie a long time before the purge.

here are some of the screencaps I found:

I was afraid of that Cheshire Cat when I was a kid. :o So thanks for that. No sleep for me tonight. :giggle:

I was thinking again about Naomi. She's been on the beach how long? A couple of days? But she's still wearing the flight suit? Isn't that hot? Has she been in the tent all this time? But she's okay now, walking around, like Mikhail said she would be?

The Cheshire cat is scary, always popping out of nowhere. But not as scary as clowns. What are they hiding behind all that make-up?

Anyway, Naomi. It is monsoon season, so it might be a little chilly. Or she just did not get the official welcome wagon with clothes and material for her tent yet. Seriously, Juliet has been on the beach for less than a week and she is already living in a tent twice the size of the Knows' with an airplane chair. She fixed that out of the stuff Jack brought her? I know who would be my craphole island interior designer.

Juliet's tent: Wasn't there some business about her taking her welcome kit and moving into a preexisting structure that had previously been used as a sunshade rather than a full-time shelter?

:giggle: Yeah, how many sets of clothing did Juliet have in her backpack? And her tent is pretty swank. Lots of room for the jex. We've seen the PASSION! Jack brings to the bedroom.

(And dump a cold bucket of water over my head because I'm thinking Jack is looking kind of good with the longer hair and sleeves. He's still a jerk, though. We'll see. Maybe Juliet WILL be able to change him? But I'm of the belief that it's going to take the writers backing down from their Jack-love -- that's what's needed on this show. Anyway, Jack is looking hotter to me.)

Naomi. I don't know what to think of her yet. She seems so different than everyone else there. She doesn't yet fit into this puzzle for me. I like the heat she brings around Sayid, only this would be Sayid's third True Love? Umm...no. I just don't buy that. It had better be sex and only sex between these two because that love boat has already sailed for him, and not too long ago, either.

I also like the idea of Naomi hitting on Sawyer, making Kate jealous. But then this show isn't about romance, so I'm all for resolving this triangle and moving on to the rest of the story(ies).

I was just thinking, we can assume that James played the tape for Kate. She heard Juliet's message to Benry about Sun, when her conception took place, her getting samples from the other woman and herself. Yet, at the group meeting, Sun finds out this information when James confronts her with the tapes recording when she's going on about her new found trust in Juliet.

Kate made a b-line to Jack about Naomi, but doesn't say anything to Sun immediately about what was on that tape? First, she just happens to let it slip that something happens to pregnant women on the island, yet does nothing to encourage Jack and Juliet to inform Sun of this danger right away?

I am blaming that on the time issue as well, Sayid probably called the group together for the meeting and Kate did not have the time, well she had time to change her shirt. Also Sun is no doctor  . I am really curious if Kate is at least a little irritaded by Jack now, after she heared from himself that he knew about an attack from the Others and that Juliet wanted to test her. Probably not, she did not react after she knew he had a secret with Juliet who is working for the Others. Sayid says they wanted to keep Naomi save. Kate: "Save from what?" Seriously writers, she should already know from what after listening to the tape or using her common sense (that has been taking a vacation lately). Better had given that line to Claire or Sun.
