Great developments this week! It seems the producers are finally starting to pay off the stuff from the season 2 finale i.e. Purple Sky and Penny finding out where the island is! Let's all pray they will be reunited soon!

I've been away from these forums for so long! Rewatching season 3 is making me fall in love with Dope all over again.

Des and Pen are the best ship on Lost. There flashbacks are superior and I think their overall story is far more compelling than the obvious others. In the end Des/ Pen will have played a huge role in the Lost story arc
BTW, Sonya Walger as Penny is super, super hot. I've watched her other shows on HBO and as the lab tech chick on CSI:NY. She is just one hot, classy woman. She declined to be the lead female role as "Kate" on Lost because she didn't want to move to Hawaii. I wonder how that would have turned out?

The Des/Pen scene at the end is probably in the top 3 scenes ever in Lost, and I'm a junkie. I break down parts of the show people wouldn't even think of.

If you've ever been in a compassionate relationship, that scene will bring you to tears. True love is hard to find, even on a television series or the big screen. The build up over the past few seasons to that climatic scene was a huge payoff. I feel so satisfied and if they don't find each other it will be the worst thing ever.

This episode I believe was dedicated to true blue Lost fans like us-it was so fulfilling.

- When they met at the stadium, It's very emotional and the entire dialogues
are awesome. And when Desmond read Penny's letter. I cried.


In FBYE, He broke her heart , she slaps him, cries and walks away. And at the end of this epi, Des desperately cries and says to himself again and again 'let me go back this time, i 'll do it right"

In C-22, when they first met. cute!!

And for The Constant , i haven't seen it yet but the recap and summary make i want to see it now.!!

:o the phone call scene is just making me nervous. it's like desmond's and penny's relationship is this beautiful, untouchable thing that NEEDS happy ending and those are the reasons why the writers are going to murder their happiness just like they've done with other ships :shock: !

Perhaps the deep underlying meaning to Lost is a cautionary tale. Maybe some of these people can learn from their mistakes and excersise their demons. The Island may be a force in the lives of the 815 survivors that helps them atone for what they have done or should have done. Maybe a few can actually grasp its power and use it in a positive way to change certain things in their lives. Maybe others like Dharma, etc will be beaten down for abusing its powers.

Anyway that's my take. I hope Des and Pen find each other because it would make my way of seeing things on this show much more fulfilling.

Sorry I'm not really a Dope shipper, but their phone call was so beautiful. Even if I don't like the pairing or people, I'm a sucker for reunions, they can always bring me to tears.

It was more sad from Penny's POV for me, because at that point I was assuming Desmond was still in 1996 (is that the right year?) and so he'd only just seen Penny recently if you know what I mean.

But she played that bit so well, the reaction was incredible and had me crying, it's something people had been waiting for for a while. So beautiful. :)

I have never been a shipper of the Desmond and Penny, but the phone call between them on last week's episode? I have never cried so hard. It was so beautiful and just... wow. I am not the type to randomly burst into tears, but they really do deserve their happy ending. But with the reveal from this weeks' episode, I am not so sure if the are going to get it any time soon... :(

I think these 2 have great chemistry. Even though they have only been in a few episodes together, it seems like their relationship is so real and passionate. I love Des's accent brother, and Pen is an amazing actress. I really hope they are reunited some day!
