the promos have really started to kill the show. I mean, two weeks ago, 3 questions will be revealed, last week, an episode everyone will be talking about. So I really doubt that Locke will do something that will change all the Losties forever or whatever the US promo showed.

I agree, both previews over hype the show way too much which in part makes people dissapointed when it doesnt live up to that hype

Well usually it is whatever the overvoice guy says that is wrong, like the whole "three mysteries" thing. This one, if I remember correctly, was mostly footage and the footage from the trailer is usually in the actual episode. But I don't know... Looks like a great episode though. Can't wait. I am excited for another Sayid flashback.

Season 2, when Locke and Ecko (and the 2 annoying new cast members) were in the Pearl hatch, they turned on the TV screens and one showed that eye patch guy, who then turned off the camera I think. Hope that helps..

The preview seemed to imply to me that it might be something he had already done. I suspect we'll find out what part of the significance of not pushing the button was.

Looks like it's going to be a great show. Yeah it seemed like it could have been something that Locke previously done. And if not something he'd previously done I seen him sitting in front of a computer screen and there was a chess board or what appeared to be a chess board on the monitor and then he pressed something. *shurgs*

If anyone's like me and doesn't like ABC's stupid hype, but at the same time like little sneak peeks, just watch the previews while doing your best to ignore the voice-over. ;)

Canadian promo just sucked...as always, doesn't even look like a promo, just 1 long scene, cheap CTV.

Yeah, i agree with everyone in that the promos have been sucking. the three mysteries was a huge letdown and for last nights episode it seemed that the big rescue mission for jack was going to be a main focus. then we are distracted with a comedic interlude. dont get me wrong, i thought it was a good episode but it did nothing to progress the story.

however, the quotes used in the promo were correct, the losties did at least start the conversation on going to help jack. even though it was for those 2 minutes at the end. SO, since patchy was in the promo we're at least guaranteed to see him for a second! lol. either way, next week seems to be destined to be more interesting because we're going into totally unknown territory- Patchy, the flame, Locke deciding everyone's fate again by messing with the computer, mainland communication? I think this episode will put us back on track.

I'll be really interested to see what the significance of the chess game is. Maybe every move of the pieces is a move for the good guys or the bad guys (black/white). Perhaps Patchy doesn't even realize that he's playing a game with peoples lives. It's a far-fetched theory but you never know...

I think the Monster is going to appear again soon, in Episode 3x11 or not too long after that. Just a feeling I have. The makers said that the Monster will be part of Season 3. The Flame (where Patchy lives) might have something to do with it (there's a theory for this somewhere on the forum, which I strongly believe).

I agree with you on this one, even though i feel like the island has that special power to take the lives of ecko and others, i feel the black smoke mechanism is somehow related to this game of chess. I still hope it isnt though, because this still wouldnt explain why it just let locke go.

Of course, the preview now has me worried that if Locke sees that they can communicate with the mainland, that will mean people can get rescued, but of course John doesn't want to leave so he sabotages the communication system, thus further trapping people there.
