The Lost Forum Golden Island Awards

For your consideration...

As most of you know, awards season has come and gone.:(
However, to celebrate our own gifted and talented members, the mentors would like to extend the awards season by presenting the first annual Lost Forum Golden Island Awards. :bow:

Winners will be presented with a “Golden Island”. Well, not really but you will have the honor of having “07 Golden Island Winner” carried as a bolded title under your user name for two weeks. Sorry, the honor of having a bolded title is all we can give you at this time because our tenure is almost over and we are cheap. :D

And the categories are....*excitement builds*

1) Most original signature quote
2) Most random link in signature

4) Weirdest avatar used in signature
5) Coolest banner :cool:
6) Strangest Lost related user title
7) Strangest non-Lost related user title
8) Funniest/Strangest profile pic
9) Most smilies used in a post
10) Longest post (Fanfics would have to be excluded for obvious reasons)

Let us know in your post what categories you want considered. You will be limited to two. Remember that your signature must adhere to LF rules!

For the signature categories (numbers 1-7), all you have to do is post in the thread and you are up for consideration! :clap:
Please do not change your avi, banner, etc. that you want considered for a few days. We will need time to save them to be judged. :)

Categories 8-10 you will need to post those submissions in this event thread. For example, post your profile pic, the post you made with the most smilies or your longest post. It has to be a legitimate post that you have made here at LF, again abiding by LF rules.

Entries will be judged on a 1-10 point scale by the mentors. It will be at the discretion of the mentors what they think is cool, strange, random, etc.

The judging period will begin on February 26 (whenever this is posted) and end March 7 at 7:00 pm EST U.S. Lost Forum Award winners will be announced on March 10 when the results have been tabulated.
We won’t have a red carpet pre-show, but we do hope you will be wearing your finest for the announcements. :D *more excitement*

I would like to thank Foxeroo for injecting a bit of get up and go into me in person after the previous competition. I think she's a credit to the forum, to her fellow members and to Lost, I applaud her.

Oh my brief idea involved a mod or mentor doing a type of interview each week or month asking an active member little tid bits about their life, about Lost, why they like it, etc. I thought it would help bring about a little cementation within the community.

That plus a type of post of the week or member of the week award type thing awarded to members demonstrating exceptional insight and within that timeframe.

But I would'nt heed much of what goes on in this head of mine. :sweat:

I realise it would probably be an annoyance on the mods.

Anyway kudos to foxy, and to my fellow mentors during our tour of duty, I really enjoyed the experience and would furthermore like to thank the mods for the recognition they threw my way. ;)
