We viewed this thread as necessary what with Rose's “death” and the extremely tearful Doctor/Rose goodbye scene in the S2 Finale. We wanted to keep the Rose mourning seperate from actual DW (http://lost-forum.com/showthread.php?t=55238) talk.

So, this is your thread if:

I know I remember that. Still not sure if I believe her ...

I'm trying to keep an open mind but RTD will still have to sell me on her. Besides, Rose was always gonna be a tough act to follow.

I don't see why they just couldn't have got a male companion, more of the Jack / Doctor banter type relationship. I don't know, maybe that would have disuaded some people from watching, i.e. watching just two guys without a girl for a female fanbase to relate to.

I guess when Jack comes back that idea will sort of be realised for a while though.

DT said something about how the Doctor's not just going to get over Rose, and hinted that their relationship will be continued to be hinted at like it was in The Runaway Bride. What else have I heard? A couple of episode titles have been released, there were rumours about The Master coming back but the reliability of those are extremely questionable. And of course you all know about TEH PHOTOS, and if you don't there's some pretty good pics here (http://community.livejournal.com/barrowmanfans/182473.html). That's all I can remember off the top of my head folks!

OK, because I'm really sad today I read all the reviews and features ( in the awesome new Radio Times ) that I could find. And I just LOVE these quotes. And I thought some Drosers might appreciate them too.

I'm really apprehensive about the Doctor getting married but I really love that theory. Rose must at least feature in some way. But if the Doctor does get married isn't it because he becomes human? So that way he wouldn't be the same " person " that met Rose.

Well, I am worried about that aswell - but GREAT theory!

However, I watched the rest of it, and I think that it isnt the Doctor that is getting married because when Martha says to him "Help us" in a very dramatic voice, he says I am not the Doctor and you see the Doctor on a screen, as if he is instructing Capatin Jack to help him, and Martha being gullible actually believes that he does actually get married . You also see John Simm (What exactly is going to happen in Life on Mars - sorry going off the subject) doing a reallly weird smile, so maybe he is a shape changer, and is creating havoc. Also, I think you see the woman that the Doctor "marries" backing away and saying "What are you" and it cuts back to a different setting to the blood sucking brothers thingy people so it is in an different episode, so maybe she realises that she didnt marry a human ..... *breathes* anyone like my theory?

I think that the 'I am not The Doctor' lines is from the episode 'Human Nature', where he marries this Woman Jessica/Joan and becomes human, in order to get over Rose and his TimeLord angst. Apparently, he transforms himself into this new person in the early 20th century [note his clothes. He's so cute in a bow tie :love:], and becomes a teacher, forgetting all about being the last of the timelords and saving the earth.

I really don't want the Master to come back, mainly because he annoys me. And whenever I think Master, I think mouldering mass of flesh, that makes me just 'Ick', or Cheesy Canon-Ignoring, Half-Human, American made-for-TV movies that make me cringe.

My answer was this, I just thought I'd bring it here, cause Drose is amazing and still lives!

She met the Doctor when he had just lost everything, his family, his friends and his home, she helped him through it, it was the Doctor and Rose, she rubbed off on him as much as he did on her. He showed her things no-one in the world would even be able to imagine, and she was his friend a person he could talk to, share experiences with..and a little bit more :rolleyes:
Over time they fell in love, not quite realising it though, they were in love, just look at all their moments.

All the Doctor really cared about was Rose, he could have been saving an entire planet from destruction, but if Rose was in danger then thats all he would worry about.
Rose had never met a man like that in her life..and ofcourse tragically never will again, she loved him for the things he did for her, what he did for others. and she knew he needed someone, and she needed him.
Which is why their seperation was so emotional. In fact one of the most emotional things I've ever seen on television to date, I've seriously never wept like that before ever!

They were so connected with eachother that they literally needed a whole Universe to keep them apart, also this is the first time in Doctor Who history that the Doctor has ever been so emotionally attached to his companion.
Also the first one to be mentioned in every single episode of the next series, and he burnt up the sun just to say goodbye to her.

Which is why this Martha girl is the most irritating person I have ever had the pleasure to watch.
She meets the Doctor, and yes I can see why she is a good match, she is smart and didnt freak out when an entire hospital somehow transported to the moon, which is obviously a quality you'll need when travelling with the Doctor. Yet she thinks that they are an item??
Acting like they are a couple and Rose is just an x he cant quite forget, when we all know she was so much more.
She keeps on making a move on him, adding all these snide little comments about rebound and any other crap thats come out of her mouth.
Also in this last episode when she was talking to the 'sugar rush' girl (didnt catch her name, didnt really care), she tells her that she thinks the Doctor likes her in that way ?! I have no idea where she got that idea from?

Basically, Rose is far better than Martha, I just hope that like so far they dont forget about Rose.
Though I do think this season will be quite tough to watch, and I still hope for Rose to return just for an eppy..half an eppy, 10 mins even. Enough for the Doctor to feel love again, and for Martha to get the picture and back-off.

Sorry this took a little long, but I really needed to get some feelings off my chest, I hope to write much more in this thread too.

Hey American here, and I just finished watching The Lazarus Experiment. I thought I'd watch a few eps last week so I can watch it week to week only to find out that it was going to be on for 2 weeks.

Martha is ok, she's no Rose and in fact she made me miss Rose so much that I paid 60 dollars for the second series on DVD.

I love that the Doctor keeps mentioning Rose and I loved the Shakespere Code when he was in bed with Martha and he said "Rose would know what to do" it just shows how great of team they were. Rose almost from the begining was part of his team, while Martha is still his assistant. IMO anyway

I wish that they had let them kiss in the finale. Even if it was quick good luck kiss. The Doctor kissed Martha (granted it was so she would pass the alien scanner thing) but Rose doesn't even get to remember kissing either Doctor. :mad:

Rose and The Doctor were def. meant for each other. They were on the same wavelength. Martha is just there.

But I always read the tv guide first.
If it mentions too much sadness or the Doctor loving someone else, I'll refuse to watch it. Sometimes I get bored and turn it off. Sometimes Martha annoys me so much I wanna throw a brick at the tv xD

I watch it, but only because of the hotness that is Tennant and for any Drose references, which there have been alot of.
Now I'm really jsut waiting for the eppy Jack comes back, I know there is going to be a BIG Rose reference there. :D

Wouldn't it be lovely if Rose was coming back? But somehow, I doubt the authenticity of those reports. Tabloids are great at coming up with stuff like that to set the fans off, but half the time it's total dribble. And it would be very, very hard to write Rose back in this soon after her departure and not make it shallow and soapy. If RTD was doing it, he could pull it off, but I wouldn't trust anyone else with the task.

As for a baby... you'll probably all hate me for it, but I say no way. It's just... I dunno. I always cringe and move on when I find myself reading a drabies fic. To me, it's just... not them. And I think it would come across as so lame if they tried to do that in terms of Rose just rocking up out of nowhere and saying 'I'm back, and and by the way - I've just had your baby'. That might be a bit... weird (lol).

But... if she is coming back (minus bub), that would be awesome. Because we all know that Drose is forever.

It would be cool if Rose was not only working for Torchwood but running the place. With all her knowledge on aliens and time traveling (seeing what the future could be like, she can change it) she's basically the Doctor for that reality. :D And also in my mind since she took in the Time Vortex she made herself immortal like Jack. So that way when she does find a way back to the proper Earth, Drose can live on forever. :D

I like your plan of how the scene should work out... I really hope they've gone with something similar to that. DW hasn't made me cry since The Shakespeare Code (that heartbreaking little Drose reference 'Rose would know') so this is a good time for it to start again.

I think Billie would come back, if not permenantly at least for a two-parter. Because she said she got all jealous when she saw the Doctor's new companion, and I remember reading a quote from her somewhere saying;

" I'm done with Doctor Who. For now."

She may have been joking but I reckon she loves the show so much she'd do a couple of episodes. Plus, really, the Doctor and Rose need closure. The Doctor never actually said " I love you ... " ( despite Julie Gardner confirming that's what he meant to say ) so that might have been intentional. To leave an open door for Rose so to speak.

And the BBC, would like, totally have her back. :) As would we.

I didnt buy it but I did read it, and it said something along the lines of...

'Last time you were in the show you were playing alongside Christopher Eccleston, alot has happened since you left, is it addressed in the next episode?'

John: (cant remember exactly) 'It is. I cant say too much without giving it away, but it is a main part of the episode, and it is addressed in a way you wouldn't have thought it to be.'

Or something like that...but basically, he just confirmed that they will talk about Rose, and it is between himself and the Doctor for defo!!

Rose coming back is like a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope it's true.

As for her coming back with their kid.... i dunno. And I am kind of mocking myself, because in most of my reuinion fics, I have a character named Traylor, and she reuinites them, and then you find out later she's their daughter ( and she is always a Time Agent.) . But actually seeing the kid as a baby turns off the good feeling for some reason. If the kid were older I wouldn't mind.

Im glad the had the conversation about what happened at the end of the first season and last season so maybe Martha will get it into her head that the Doctor doesnt love her. She seems really fed up with Rose and how the 3 of them had a close connection and she wasnt able to share it. But kind of insulted when Martha said she of course had to be blonde.

I also think that at the beginning the Doctor said that 'Rose was alive in a parallel universe ect' a little to happy and jolly.
