We are on STRIKE!

You may notice that some of us have the same banner and avatar on today. Yes...we are on strike! Some people on the Forum have been taking/using other's banners/avatars/graphics/artworks without permission and/or credit, and we want to bring this problem into the light.

PLEASE STOP THE STEALING!! Please don't use the "I'm new here" as an excuse...taking things without permission from others in the real world is call "stealing" and please don't tell me you didn't know that's wrong.

All you have to do is ask, and many creative folks here will gladly custom design a banner/avatar for you. You can request your graphics by going to the Creative Lost Forum (http://lost-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11). Please don't forget to give the designers credit where credit's due to show some appreciation (this goes with manips and other kinds of artwork as well!) by putting texts such as "avi/banner by Jack" in your signature. Those who repeatly steal graphics will be reported to a Mod and god know what's gonna happen to them *evil grin*!

Yes a strike!!!! We need to show respect to our fellow graphic designers. Making a banner/avvie, wallpaper takes time and a lot of imagination on our part. I know I've spend more that 1 hour doing something and for it to be taken and not give me credit :(.

We aren't just talking about the graphics that are here, we are also talking about the graphics you use from LiveJournal, the Fusalage and any other place that you get your graphics. It's nice to know people like your work but is even better when you give them the credit they deserve.

I agree. When you have finally made a unique avi/banner and you're happy with it, it just sucks to see somebody who just stole your work. Fortunately it hasn't happened for me yet and I like to keep it that way. I totally support you guys

I'm also supporting the people who make graphics because I know that it must be a lot of hard work. If people are kind enough to go out of their way to help others, I think the least we can do is acknowledge their effort.

You also have my support!!! People donate their own time and effort into making great sigs and avas for you. You could at least credit them. If you don't want to credit them, then don't use the sig and ava at all. Make your own.

I am here to say how much I appreciate all of the talented people here, several of whom have made me some VERY VERY cool banners (including ClaireandCharlie's "SOS" banner, littlelostsoul's "Shayid" masterpiece AND an extra-special thank you to Kater for sharing her Sawyer NERD creation with me!!!)

I do make my own avatars (not too fancy LOL) but am technically challenged on making elaborate banners, so I really do appreciate those of you who are creative and generous.... THANK YOU!!!!

I keep my avatar and banner but that doesnt mean I dont support the graphic creators work...I have some graphics saved..and dumbo me forgot to save them as names of the creators so I know perfercly well to just post it as an attachement and ask who made this..or do the search for it..simple to do! It IS after all common courtesy to give credit ANYTHING you quote, use etc....why is that so hard to understand??

This is interesting. I just saw all the banners and asked Heather (Claireandcharlie) what's going on, and she gave me the link to this thread. I working on my banner/avy as we 'speak.' This is a very idea, and I totally support it.

All this artwork takes time, effort, and creativity from the artists. They at least deserve the credit!
