Overdramatized? Yes.
Cliched? Yes.
Did I still love it? Yes.
:w00t:
Any other fans?

ETA: Show concept: It's about a fictional town in Texas (Dillon TX) that has what is supposed to be an all-star football team that will contend for the state championship. The show is about the team's ups and downs through the year.

I flipped back and forth between that and the Yankee game... it was pretty good!

It had an "Office"-style documentary feel, but not the same genre.

Not bad, I'd have to say, and I don't even like football... though I did like that one line

BOY: "Do you think God likes football?"
QB: "I think everyone likes football."

hehe... I'll tune in next week!

I couldnt and still cant get into liking this. It just bores me. I wanted to like it though, the commercials looked so good.

Is it susposed to be a spin off of the movie with billy bob or is it a completly different thing?

NBC is airing 3 episodes on Wed., 12/27 from 8-11 p.m.; I'm not sure if they're new or repeats. Also, BRAVO is having a marathon on Sat., 12/30 starting at 9:00 a.m. Please check your local listings for exact time/channel.

They were new. I watched all three and now I'm hooked. The script felt natural, and so did the acting. I thought the camera work made it feel really personal, and even with just three episodes I started to like the characters. Even the characters that weren't supposed to be that likeable. :p. The only complaint I could possibly think of is that Tim needs to wash his hair more often. Me and my mom were refering to him as "Greasy Hair Boy" all night. But we still love him. :D

I didn't like the pilot and I really don't care about football so I had crossed this one off but with this winter hiatus and my being sick during the holidays I watched all the episodes in a row and while I'm still not hooked on it all I have to say that I really like the Tim/Lyla relationship. Actually I also like the Jason/Lyla one but yeah T/L shipper all the way for me.

Chandler and Britton are very believable, sweet and interesting as a married couple which is a rarety on TV.

I find the show rather honest and "raw" which is an exception for this kind of show: a teen show for everyone to watch. It's very tricky to pull off but here it's done well.

Now the drawbacks (aside football): I don't care about Saracen and Smash Williams. Just don't care at all. *shrugs*

All in all a solid 7/10 (a big improvement from the 3/10 I gave to the pilot). :)

For all you Taylor K. (Tim) fans, he's on the cover of next month's Men's Health magazine currently on stands.

BTW, did I mention he was shirtless?

Too young for me though. :o

Yesterday:

Friday Night Lights: NBC execs love this show. And that makes me love NBC execs. This is without a doubt the most underappreciated new series on television, and sources tell me NBC knows that and is expected to keep it around. Hooray!

Promising news for 'Friday Night Lights' and a peek at the season finale

It’s not a full-on renewal, but NBC has ordered six new “Friday Night Light” scripts. That is a very good sign for the sensational NBC drama.

Final word on whether the show will return next fall is expected in mid-May, when NBC presents its fall lineup to advertisers. If NBC wants to actually follow through on all the promises it’s made about pursuing quality television, it must renew this show.

'Friday Night Lights: The First Season'

Inspired by the New York Times best-selling book and motion picture, the TV series "Friday Night Lights" is the story of life in the small town of Dillon, TX, where everyone comes together on Friday nights when the Dillon High Panthers play. But life is not a game, and the players, coach and the passionate fans find that their biggest challenges and obstacles come from off the field in the compelling day-to-day dramas of their tight community. All 22 episodes are included, plus bonus features such as "Behind the Lights" and deleted scenes that never made it to the TV screen.

Friday Night Lights Stars Apply for "Super" Roles

Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter are among the host of fresh young faces currently taking part in director George Miller's two-day marathon casting session for Justice League of America, says the Hollywood Reporter. Miller has some 40 up-and-comers on his radar for the comic-book-based film, which is looking to fill the costumes of Superman, Wonder Woman (Jessica Biel "passed"), Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter.

Others on yesterday and today's short list include Adam Brody (The O.C.), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse), Michael Anganaro (Will & Grace), Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek) and rapper Common.

Best. Show. On. TV.

It's gonna help me through this awful Lost hiatus.

I watched the Pilot and thought, "Meh...who wants to see a show about a bunch of football players getting drunk all the time?":shifty: but friends kept encouraging me to watch, that it wasn't just about football (which I enjoy btw.)

After I bought the first Season DVD, I was hooked. If you like a character driven drama with a small town feel, this is your show.:)

And the second season is off to an AMAZING start.:w00t: I'm hooked.:D

good to hear.

It has been awhile since I've seen it and I have not been keeping up with Season 2 at all.

Minka Kelly, high school football, and the overall plot was what kept me hooked through Season 1.

I have NEVER herd anyone call FNL cliched!
I'm actually a brand new fan. I started watching it after hearing what a great show it is.

I think this is one of the best shows I've seen; granted I am still not even done season one.
