They're my second fav band! :D I'm a proud owner of all of their albums ;) and I'm pretty much a hard core fan. :w00t:
Been to their concert last year - when Tarja was still with them (shame about the brake up:() - and it was one of the best gigs I ever saw.

P.-Haaia, if you'll have a chance to see them live the next time they're on tour, I strongly recomend you take that chance and go. :) The energy they pass on to the audience is amazing, and they're very fan-friendly, too ;) - Tuomas even went off stage at the end of the show to shake hands with the entire first row. I've never seen any member of any band do that.

I used to be a big fan of Nightwish, i've been to their concert here in São Paulo 2 years ago! As i said, i used to be a big fan but right now i hardly listen to them or any other metal band, however, i still enjoy them :D

The new song 'Eva' I downloaded the other day, and I happen to have fallen in love with it. Now, when it comes to Nightwish, I become a crazy and rather obsessive girl (well more so than I already am), and when it came to Tarja (Nightwish's previous vocalist) I was the same. So honestly I didn't know what to expect or even whether I'd be accepting of the new vocalist, Anette. But I love her, I really do. Her voice is very different to Tarja's, and definately doesn't have the power Tarja's had, that said Anette's voice is very beautiful. The more I listen to Eva the more I love her.

Anette has huge shoes to fill. Quite honestly, I don't think she will ever reach up to Tarja's standards, Tarja was one in a million and I'm going to miss her and her beautiful operatic voice so damn much. But this is the beginning of a new era for Nightwish, and if you're a true Nightwish fan, I expect you will stick with them through this. I've been visiting various Nightwish forums and it angers me when I read comments such as 'Nightwish made the wrong decision in picking her', or 'There's no way she was the best out of 2000'. Stop passing fucking judgements people. I say this to you, Anette was the right decision, because the band made it. We don't get to judge whether they made the right decision, only the band do. So they made the right one k? Get the f*** over it.

I think the main problem here, is that Nightwish chose to release a song as their first with Anette, that is more of a softer, ballad which doesn't give Anette the chance to show us the limits of her voice. I think, if they had have released a heavier song, it would be easier for us to determine her vocal range. However, Eva is a beautiful song, Anette sings it beautifully, and the instrumental side of it is still the old Nightwish I have loved and cherished for years. Now, I look forward to the release of their new album in September, then we will hear what Anette can really do with her voice.

The ex singer of the norwegian band Tristania was also rumored to be the new vocalist in Nigthwish, she has an awesome voice to.

I absolutely love their new album. I miss Tarja of course, as does everyone, but Anette is amazing. The Poet and the Pendulum is such an outstanding and mind-blowing song. Tuomas' lyrics as always are beautiful, and I love Marco's vocals throughout.

I'm still not too sure on Anette singing the older songs though, I've heard a few on Youtube, and I can't help but fell her voice just doesn't have the power needed to pull some of the old songs off. She is amazing live though.

Ocean Soul is my all time favorite song of theirs, because it holds a personal message to me and it's a song that really can emotionally heal me. I have so many favorite Nightwish songs though, I cannot choose between them all. Ghost Love Score is also a particular favorite of mine though.

But I find it sad that the old songs will not be performed by Tarja. I would die happy if I heard Tarja singing Ghost Love Score, Ever Dream, Ocean Soul, Slaying the dreamer or Dark Chest Of Wonders. Oh and Nemo
I hope Annete can make these songs her own and make them sound ok. I dont know how she will sing Ghost Love score or Higher Than Hope without having that kinda voice. the sound will def change. but I'm optimistic about it.

Tarja is missed. But Tuomas' Lyrics are still there and that's what I loved the most.:D

I just got into Nightwish with Dark Passion Play, and I'm close to saying that its my favorite album of the year so far. The new singer is of course all I know since I just discovered them, but I'll try to delve into their older stuff soon.

I basically listen to The Poet and the Pendulum and Amaranth all the friggin time now. :) Well, the whole album really, there's not a song I flat-out don't like, but those two probably edge out as my faves.

Nightwish is just great!! They are my second favorite band, after evanescence. I have almost all of their albums, still missing two i think.
I liked the old nigthwish, with tarja really much. Tarja has such a special voice. But i like the new one as much. I got their new album a few weeks ago, and i play it like three times a day! My absolutely favorite song on it is "7 days to the wolves" It's just perfect!!
And I'm going to see them in a few months :w00t: Ow man, can't tell you how happy i am. i wanted to see them for over three years by now and now they are finally coming to belgium!! :D can't wait!!!

Some shows they have 18+ because there is an open bar and they don't want minors to be around that so they just set it as 18+.
I've been to 6 all age shows though.

Nightwish concert last night.

I have to say that I am impressed with the way Anette performed the old songs. Now I'm completely sure that Anette is a great lead for NW.
Her vocals where great. And she is the sweetest thing ever.:)
Marco was great in all his awesomeness even if he got confused while singing "the poet and the pendulum":giggle: It was cute. Emppu is the cutest thing ever.:D Jukka was the one that I barely saw cause I was on the other side right in front of Tuomas who at one point looked at me and smile. I swear I died right there. Then my cousin got tired and begged me to go to the back so we left to the back. At the end Tuomas was chaking hands with the people who were in the front. I was a little:mad: at my cousin, but whatever I got a smile from him.:cloud9:

I went to see them last Sunday, omg. It was the best night of my life. I was right near the front, near where Tuomas is, god he's just brilliant, I worship the guy; it was so awesome being so close to them all, it seems surreal now. And Anette just blew me away, she was bloody amazing; I have to say I do prefer her to Tarja in many ways, she is so much more laid back, anf fun, and the way she interacts with the crow, she's just fabulous. :heart:

I really never understood the Anette hate.:eh: She is great. and I saw her life and she was amazing with the crowd and performed the old song amazingly.
People complain that they should have gotten another classical singer. But can you imagine what the Tarja fans would say about that said classical singer. They would bash her even worse.

IMO Anette is an amazing pick. She owns my soul already. The spirit of the band still remains the same for me. The lyrics are still causing me awe. The music is great and Anette is a sweety.

Wow, a Nightwish thread. A shame I hadn't seen this earlier.

Nightwish are pretty much the essence of my musical behaviour, seen them
four times already and will see them in march for the fifth time. I don't dislike
Anette but having seen Tarja three times they are pretty big shoes to fill and
she does a fair job at that.
