I surprised there wasn't already a Smallville thread.
I only just started watching reruns of Smallville over the summer and I really liked it so I'm going to start watching it in the fall. I have a question. How did Lionel find out Clarks secret. I know that he'd been spying on him and even researching him but how does he know his name is Cal-el and that he is an alien, etc.

drifter there used to be a smallville thread around here somewhere...to answer your question he was very wary of him for a long time and had his theories....but i think it was verified in an episode when lionel and clark switch bodies.....also, i started watching smallville only last year, i rented all of the seasons through netflix....it is really great to see how the characters have progressed, some of the first seasons are really amazing, especially the season finales, ENJOY!!!

Lionel became possessed by Jor-El and that's how he found about all about Krypton and Kal-El.

Lionel found out about clark's powers in the "saw" episode (I dint remember the actual name) where he and Martha are taken captive and Clark stops an elevator from falling to ground by catching it in plain site of Lionel.
I agree with bookworm, Lionel found out about Clark's secret when they switched bodies (that is in season 4)

Mazza.
Another cannon Superman character - Jimmy Olsen is set to be Chloe's boyfriend in S6. He was the boy she talked about in "Unsafe" in S4. So no Chloe/Clark.

Thanks, guys. :) I think I'll rent the season 5 dvds and watch all the episodes I haven't seen yet so I can be ready for season 6.
It really is a great show. :) And that Tom Welling is gorgeous! Agreed?

Very much agreed...:w00t: although...I have to admit, Lex is pretty sexy too....of course I understand if nobody agrees, but in my opinion, he and Lana make a nice couple. :giggle: I have seen hardly any of season 5, but I've seen previews, and...I don't know where I'm going with that...:p but yeah. I'm kinda Lexana. Not that this is a shipper thread. I Love Smallville in it's entirety.

I watched smallville back in high school for like a season...then didn't watch it for like 4 years
i saw the superman movie at the beginning of the summer and loved it and my brother who had been watching it all along had the dvds and i got myself totally addicted again in a matter of three weeks...
I'm super excited about season 6...woot

I love Smallville!!! Have since episode 1, but didn't become addicted until season 4 when Lois joined, 'cause I've been a Lois Lane fan since...forever! Ok, not since forever, since Teri Hatcher, but L&C: TNAOS was the 1st version of Superman I watched so I think of it as forever lol, and I never thought I'd like some other Lois more than Teri's, but Erica's Lois proved me wrong and she's now my favorite Lois...and as you can see, just like Lois I tent to babble a lot...lol
But anyway, can't wait for season 6, I hope Jimmy is only there to make Clark jealous, because I want Clark and Chloe together at least for a while, even tho I'm a Clois shipper

I'm not a very big fan of Superman(I think it's the spandex), but Smallville is great!:w00t: I didn't really like it that much before s4, but then Lois showed up and she turned out to be a great character.
For season 6 I'm really hoping for some Clois action!(And more Lexana:D )

What's the status with all the couples now? I used to watch it and I was u huuuge Lana/Clark shipper but then it got moved to Saturday on Belgium.. + repeats and stuff so I kinda didn't see it for two years, but a few weeks ago there was an ep where Ian Somerhalder helps Lana to walk? over here that was.
I liked Lana/Lex too. Never Chloe/Clark.. :blank:

Hm, Clark and Lana were in a relationship for half a season, but then they broke up (thank God! lol), and now she and Lex are together. I don't think Clark has romantic feelings for either Chloe or Lois right now. He and Lois are still on their usual love/hate relationship, which I love, but nothing more than friendship unfortunately (hopefully that will change if Operation Piggy Bank works). Chloe knows about Clark's powers so they now make kind of a team, which is very cool, she still has feelings for him and he didn't show any feelings for her until the season finale, when she kissed him and he, for the 1st time kissed her back. Can't wait for season 6 because it will be either Chlark or Clois and I love both.

I think this show has gone down hill in the past few seasons. The first three were the best. I think they focus way too much time on Lana, instead of Clark (you know the person the shows supposed to be about). Lana is one of the only fictional characters I completely hate, (nothing against the actress) but her character is so up and down it's annoying.
It's like you have to watch this show as if each episode were a stand alone ep. Because continuity on this show is almost non-existant.
I love Michael Rosenbaum as Lex, he is so good in portraying him.
I am not a Clana fan. I hate Lana, and I can't bear the thought of her being with Lex. She got pretty annoying. So self-centered. Argh. And the thing is, I read somewhere that in the comics, she ended up with Pete. But that will never happen in smallville, coz she didn't even notice Pete.
I love Lois from the first time she showed up, she has an interesting personality.
Chloe is annoying at first but when she learned about Clark's secret, she changed for the better. And I like her for that.. especially on the episode where Clark got amnesia, she was so protective of her.
But I think the best relationship Clark had in smallville is with Alicia. He felt free. So sad, Alicia died just like that.
EDIT: Clarisse Aniston I love your banner! :)

I like smallville, the season 5 was the best, so much actions, love and all. I used to love clana, they were sooo cute. But as almost all here, i began to dislike her because of her behavior toward clark. Then, i began to interest myself more in clois, and i'm sure they will be a great couple. They match really well. I really hope they will be closer this season.
I love michael rosembaum, i don't know how to describe my feelings for him, i find him really sexy, handsome, a je ne sais quoi. i want his character and chloe become closer, i am a chlex fan...

Hahahaha, hasn't she always been like that??? I liked Clana for about 2 or 3 episodes, but then I thought it was too boring and didn't have any ship until the very end of season 1 when I became a Chlarker, and on season 2 I started to really hate Lana. And I still do.
And yeah, in the comics Lana and Pete were together for a while, they got married and had a son (whom she named Clark), and now they're geting divorced because she still loves Clark, she's made many attempt to break up Lois and Clark's marriage (what a bitch), so I can hate her there too lol. Totally OT here, but I love a comic when Lana is implying Lois is not a good wife and Martha is like "I don't think Lois is there for Clark as much as a wife should, but you had your chance with him, Lana, get over it!" lol, gotta love Ma Kent
EDIT: Clarisse Aniston I love your banner! :)
Thanks!!! My friends and I have a Skclois (Skate/Clois) thread on another board and I got too into it and was like "I must have a Skclois banner!!" hahahaha
Oh I didn't know that Lana and Pete got divorced in the comics.. oh well, back to smallville. I really like lois, she is so cool.. and her remarks are so clever! I liked it when she called the dog, Clarkie haha....
I don't like Lexana but I prefer it more than Clana. Clark deserves better than Lana, and I hope he wakes up soon! What really bothers me is he always tries to save Lana first. Well, in my opinion, if it were the other way around, Lana won't even bother saving Clark, because she will save herself first.

I think Lexana is wrong on so many levels. Not to mention the actors have zero chemistry. She looks like his little sister and that's what he treated her like until AlMiles decided to make Superman's greatest villian fall for the whiny princess, because everyone must love Lana.
I admit in the third season I was all about the Chlex. Because at least she matches with his intellect. She's the only one who can go up against the Luthors and still come out equal. Lana seems way to childish for Lex.
Yeah you're right, Lexana has no chemistry but I prefer Lana to be with lex just because I don't want her to be with Clark.
You got a point with Chloe matching Lex's intellect. wow! That is an awesome observation. :)
Clarisse Aniston
08-29-2006, 05:23 PM
I think Lana is too childish to anyone...
And what I hate most about Lexana is that it was supposed to be Lois! Lois was the one Lex was supposed to be infatuated with, she was supposed to be the 3rd part of the triangle with Clark and Lex, hell, in almost every version except for the movies he always had a thing for herk, and on L&C she even agreed to marry him!
But I forgot, this is Lanaville, she must be the one all the guys are in love with, she must be Clark's 1st, she must be Clark's true love, because who cares about Lois, anyway? She's just a waitress with no ambitions who only got a decent job because her friend's parents hired her, right? Sorry, got a little bitter here
I totally understand you...and I hate it that many people are so into Clana... my friend told me that there's a site about Clana and the members said that they will stop watching Smallville if Clana dies... argh
Clarisse Aniston
08-29-2006, 05:41 PM
I think that's so infantile, to stop watching a show because your couple is not happening!!!
Especially Clana, because in other shows you never know what may happen in the end, but this is Smallville, EVERYONE knows from day one that Clana won't last forever, they knew it when they decided to ship them, I'm not saying it's something they shouldn't have done, because they have every right to ship whoever they want, but once I saw someone saying "If Clark and Lana don't end up together I'll be so pissed, because they'll have fooled us" and I was like "What?? They won't end up together but no one fooled you, they can't change what's canon!" That's not totally true, they changed many things that were canon, but that's something they can't change, it would be like making him not a reporter, or not be raised by Martha and Jonathan.
Coconut1214
08-29-2006, 05:57 PM
That's why I never got why this show was so into Clana. Most every one knows that Clark marries Lois Lane. Lana doesn't matter in the cannon.
But the creators of the show decided to make this Lanaville. So everyone and their mother must love Lana.
Chloe's been my favorite since season 3. I loved the Chluthor storyline, it really showed how strong and smart Chloe is. And if she were ever to go evil and team up with Lex, Clark would be in a lot of trouble. lol
Oh yeah Clark will be in a lot of trouble if that happens. Chloe has become his personal google.

she doesn't choose the good one, and lex is an example.. clark's mother said "maybe she isn't the good one" talking about lana... i really hope producers will get clois closer... we all know they will end up together... that would be great... even if i am a bit sad for chloe...
Yeah Lana always chooses the wrong guy.
Yeah Clark and Lois will end up together but Lois is not suppose to be in smallville. Don't get me wrong, I totally love Lois character in smallville, but it is just wrong to put her there.
I am sad for Chloe too, what do you think will happen on the next season? I mean, they wouldn't just leave the final kiss like that...or would they?

Well the show hasn't keep consistant with a lot of the superman lore...Lois Lane being on it so early really peeves some people...and heck...even Lex Luthor's presence is questionable... and now they are bringing in a peer Jimmy Oslen...
and its not the Justice League per se...just till members gathering...it just the infancy of it...all of the characters that will return for that episode have already appeared on the show...its just cool to me that there are other characters besides the one's they create who have powers from the kryptonite who Clark gets to interact with
And if its not your cup of tea...its just one episode:p no worries that it will consume the storyline
This is just one creation of the Superman story...their take is that he will meet those who he will fight and fight with in his future...this is their idea of how he grows to become the "superman" he will be...he is no longer a kid and is moving towards the ultimate change that we already know will happen

Not too excited. I barely think about Smallville now because I am losing interest esspecially by the fact that Jimmy is coming, Zod in Lex is stupid, the writers magically have Chloe no longer like Clark just to hook her up with Jimmy, Green Arrow is going to be played by Aquaman, Jonathan dying was a joke, Lex and Lana have sex and Brainiac is going to be scrapped like every other interesting thing that never gets resolved on the show.
We've been promised something big and epic each season but all we ever get is everyone worshiping Lana as if she is Helen of !@#$ing Troy. Even when Lana lies and acts hypocritical about it, no character ever steps up and tells her she is wrong. I just hate how the character is written and how they try to make her this pure angelic figure where the characters can never be allowed to confront her. Two years ago it was that horrible witch arc, then it was a Lex-Lana-Clark triangle "You lost her all by yourself Clark".
Can we move on please? The show was going fine once Brainiac came into the picture but after Jonathan dying (WTF is up with that?) the focus shifted into Lex/Lana, Martha/Lionel (EWW) and Clark brooding when we were promised a "Superman in Training" season (as said by the creators). Just so many opportunities wasted on worthless crap. Even the finale wasn't as gripping or mind boggling as season three finale Covenant which IMO was their peak.
This show is just losing the development and it's all becoming more shock and "hey check this out!" without ever giving a viewer a chance to warm up with. So Lex and Lana have sex so suddenly? And she's still lying about her involvement with him to everyone? I !@#$ing hate that bitch now.
If I see a clip of Lex slapping Lana hard in the face and with her falling to the ground, my interest will jump to a 10.
For now, my interest is best rated by 4. I tried to keep my hopes up but after two sub-par seasons, I lost my enthusiasm for the show. I'll watch it but I don't feel much excitement because another show has me hanging. It's called Lost.

I agree with everything you said Makeshift Python. The creators of this show have no clue what continuity means. Each episode is a completly different show. The only thing that stays constant is every characters love for Blana.
One fact that does bug me alot, is that Lana is played by a fraking Asain!! yet both her parents were white and she's French (according to that stupid witch storyline)

Let me guess... Clark somehow escapes from the Phantom Zone by fighting his way out...or maybe someone on the inside helps him escape and he comes back to smallville.. Lex(zod) and Clark get into a big fight and somehow clark frees Lex from zod using his super powers .. Big explosion ..then Lex loses any memory of zod and clarks powers ....so once again clarks' secret is safe.
(YAWN) same ol smallville... then next weeks episode will be something totally different without any mention of zod ...the phantom zone or anything .

not the best premiere to date but it wasn't bad...
and we all knew that the zod thing would be cleared up within the first episode...that always happens with anything that occurs in finale/premiere. I think only between season 2 and 3 did it span more than 2 episodes...but they did leave it with the phantoms flying around so the storyline of the phantom zone won't be forgotten entirely...
I like how they are setting up the characters for the "future". Clark actually have concern for Lois, Jimmy was a bit underused for an intro but he will be reoccurring so we'll get more of him...plus a lot of Jor-el mention which was awesome and how they have completely set it up for Clark to be a hero by himself.

I just watched it and I have to say I enjoyed it. I shouldn't underestimate a Smallville season premiere, I forgot how good they all are. Which worries me. Because will there be fillers? We'll see.
So is the Fortress really dead? Did they do pull Donner Cut on us? I hope not. I doubt it. Those prisoners could be part of the reason. We'll see.
The fight with Clark and Lex was well done yet, like the fight between Clark and Brainiac, it just went by too fast and you were left wanting more. And when Lex got a shield printed on his palm, I expected that to be a scar, instead it vanishes. Oh well, that would have been awesome. And when Superman arrives Lex would have felt a connection with him because of the sheild imprinted on his hand.
I like how they did the Lois and Clark scene. When the held hands, I actually believed it. When they realized it, I realized it and I was amused. Glad that they are building it up rather than throwing in a relationship (ala Lexana)
I'm upset Brainiac has been scrapped still. They should have given him a better way to go out than fly a freakin' plane. But they never said he was dead so perhaps we'll see Brainiac again, or at least he'll still exist for Clark's Superman era.
HEY! I got what I wanted all along! Lex slapped Lana and she flew to the ground! Well, he wasn't exactly Lex at the time but hey, close enough. Lana wasn't as annoying this time. And she better stay that way.
The Phantom Zone was pretty dissapointing. It's basically suppose to be like hell but instead it's portrayed as a desert and you can survive it as long as you live near your small hut and keep an eye on those ghosts. Bah. Hell sounds more fun.
I am GLAD Lionel still remembers kryptonian. I am PISSED Lex forgot everything (as usual). I want to kill "JAMES".
When Chloe hugged Clark, I was really expecting a Chlark to begin because she really embraced him. Instead, she actually pulled a Clark on Clark, like how we saw on Vortex. I have a feeling Jimmy won't last long. But I have been wrong before.
Is it was gripping as Exile? No. Exciting as Crusade? Nope. But it was good. Pretty much even with Arrival. But nothing spectacular.
A 4 out of 5 for me. Now Smallville has to do is just keep it up. Next week doesn't look so interesting but hopefully it won't turn out so bad.

So Zod arrives on this planet for what ... 10 - 15 mins and realizes that he has the ability to fly? How old is Clark again?LOL  , and how long has he had his powers ?:strong: Seriously , how many more kryptoneons does he have to see flying around before he realizes that he can fly too? Not too bright in the brains department Clark .
And why did they hand over the dagger to Lana ? At first , I thought Lana was going to betray them..but then I thought ..why Lana? WHY NOT JUST USE KRYPTONITE to weaken Zod? I guess they pick their spots when it comes to the usage of the green rock.
Poor Clark at the end might have wanted more with Chole but it looked like Chole got tired of having her heart broken so she moved on ..with jimmy perhaps? Hmm:glomp:

Well on TWOP they don't call him the BDA for nothing. (Big Dumb Alien)
Smallville's premiere are always good and then it goes downhill from there.
So Zod is this all powerful solider Alien and gets defeated in one day!!!! Why the hell can't they write a mulitible story arc like other shows. I'm begining to think they are incabable of continuity.
I do have to say I liked when Clark grabbed Lois' hand and they were like that for a few seconds before they noticed. That was sweet and like you said Makeshift, it's a nice build up to the inevitable relationship.
Lexana, :eww:  Lana sure falls in and out of love fast. This relationship is so stupid. It makes Lex look weak and not at all the villian he's supposed to be. Lana acts and looks like a child next to him.
All that shows is that Lana is incapable of being alone for more then a few seconds. What about this character is likeable?

I'm still waiting for this stupid download to finish, but I already saw the Clois scene, it was so cute, I loved Lois' "WTF??????" face when Clark held her hand, lmao!
I'm looking foward to see the scene where Lana's hand is stabbed (yes, Lana hater here) and the scene where Clark meets Jimmy, because half of the people whose comments I read said he was jealous and the other half said he seemes relieved she met someone else, proving anyone can see whatever they want, i wanna see it for myself and take my own conclusions

i wasn't too into a chloe-clark relationship really so i'm not disapointed that she brushed him off. Clark just saved the world and from what ma kent said at the end about how the world needs heroes it seems like the writers are setting up for Clark to transition from superboy to superman. So it would be appropriate for him to feel alone.

As for the clark not flying thing...he hasn't developed that ability yet...when he was whack out like two season ago as Kal-el he could but Clark still don't have that power...he is going to develop super breath this year so that means if they go on for another season...he should be defying gravity by then...but there is the whole thing the producers said way back when that you'll never see clark fly or in tights on Smallville...hey they may change their minds...WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

Ok , this doesn't make any sense. How does zod live on earth for 5 - 10 min and "develop" the ability to fly and Clark has been living on earth for 19+ years and doesn't have a clue ?
And I'm getting sick of how this smallville Jor-el knows people by name. Clarks' mother goes to the fortress and Jor-el is all like , Martha Kent? In the movies , Jor-el being able to answer real time questions was under a cloud of mystery . Clark would ask vague questions and Jor-el would give vague answers .. LMAO , the smallville version of Jor-el will answer the question 10 times over and give specific dates ? I'm having a huge problem with this show ..but again..I'll continue to watch week after week.

I think we say that about all shows that we loved at one point but still continue to tune in to;) Gotta love DVRs:p
As for the Zod thing...Zod had all the powers that a full blown developed kryptonian had before he was trapped in the phantom zone...thus Lex would have all the powers of him as a kryptonian or vessal... its just irksome that once again they pull the "i've got no memory of what happened" crapolla. Of course it would not make sense for lex to know what its like to be kryptonian or that Clark has powers, etc.
Clark is still developing...we totally need to see Clark fly before the end of the series...seriously...:w00t:
One thing i wish they would address...when Zod was choking Lana...clark shows up behind him with Lana facing out to where Clark came "speed running" in...of course she didn't see it even though her eyes were WIDE open...durrrrrr
Jor-el knowing everyones names...i dunno...he knew Jonathan Kent's name when he went to the cave to get Clark back in season 3...i think it kinda like an intuitive memory thingy kinda situation (very descriptive i know:P) There was an episode a long time ago when Jor-el came to earth and fell in love with one of Lana's great aunts or something and he met the kents...but i don't know how he would know Jonathan or martha's names...i'm going with the memory thingagiger idea...hehe

i don't believe so (any superman experts please condradict me if i'm wrong) Clark derives his power from our sun, like like a solar panal:D Zod was an adult kryptonian warrior...being an adult he had all the abilities like that episode i mentioned earlier when Jor-el comes to earth...he flies...and the oracle chick at the end of season 3 flew as well...which actually brings up a new twist that the smallville producers and writers have decided to make...
most of the superman/clark kent characters in the movies, comics, and television attained the ability to fly in their teens...Clark on smallville is now in his early twenties and has yet to take flight (minus the Kal-el/sybil moment at the beinging of season 4:giggle: ) They really are holding out on what i think is the best power...but i think to them besides the invinciblity, flying is a token superman symbol/ability and they don't want to push the superman persona yet...

All kryptonians have slightly heightened abilitys, powerfull ones like Zod have greatly heightened abilitys.

Supermans invulnerablilty is from his body creating radiation when exposed to the sun, some writers have implied that he draws all his power from the sun. I don't think it's ever been stated directly that the sun gives Clark all his powers though.

Supermans invulnerablilty is from his body creating radiation when exposed to the sun, some writers have implied that he draws all his power from the sun. I don't think it's ever been stated directly that the sun gives Clark all his powers though. It actually has been. In the episode Perry, Clark's powers were turning on and off. Like suddenly his eyes would burst out heat beams, he would go superspeed when he only intends to walk (and vice versa). All because there is a solar phenomenon going on which was shown in the first five minutes of the episode to let us know why Clark's powers are going crazy.
Zod shouldn't be able to suddenly know how to use all these powers and not be shocked about it. The made the same mistake on the Arrival episode last year. Superman II learned that lesson as well by having the kryptonian criminals test their powers on the moon, realizing the yellow sun generates.
Like many have pointed out, continuity has been thrown out the window. When I first watched it I enjoyed it and it was a 4/5 for me. But thinking of it all now makes me realize how flawed the episode really is by cliches, dues ex machinas and of course the reset button.
By the way, why was the entire Earth going into riots when all power was lost? It's as if these people can't keep their sanity without a lightbulb.
Bah, this show has become such a mess. The plots are just becoming forced.:(

Lmao and kal-el spent about 1 or 2 years on krypton too. How did "kal-el" discover his ability to fly?
And yes , zod was an adult ...but shouldn't he have fumbled a few times before actually taking off ......as if he knew how to fly for years? It would have been funny if he grabbed lana and was ready to take off only to be in the air for 5 seconds and crashing.

Neal Bailey:
Chloe points out the utter stupidity of this plot, and the spelling errors. Then the writers actually have the audacity to give Chloe a line that suggests that she's jealous of Lois' body but not her mind.
I mean, seriously, if I were Allison Mack, having put FIVE YEARS into a show, and they brought in a tart with breasts and gave me a line that made me acknowledge that she was hotter than me on the show, I'd quit on the spot. It's the most disrespectful thing you can possibly do for an actress who has been with this show through good, bad, awful characterization, no major love interest, a near complete abandonment of her character, and a series of episodes with a character similar to her own that essentially takes up her role in the show.Neal said it best. It just shows how the writers have been careless about the show. They're just using this show for a paycheck. They come up with random ideas and call it a day because they know they get "terrific ratings". I really hate the fact that the show did jump the shark because that means there is no turning back. It got a bit close in the early episodes of season five but it all fell down once they killed off Jonathan for a stupid reason. I don't even record this show anymore like I did for the first five seasons and for those two episodes I barely paid attention. I was just watching the show while I was online. I never did that to Smallville until now, yet I still get off the computer for a show called Lost. What does that say about my feelings for the show? Pretty low. I only keep watching for the hope that this show will return to grace. But it seems unlikely. Just watching an episode like Memoria today really hurts not because of the impact of the episode but because of how low Smallville has sunk.:(

Ok , this show is seriously starting to make me really upset. So now Lana , who's clark's ex and knows clark doesn't like Lex, is hooking up with Lex?
And the person who I thought would be "poison ivy" turns out to be some random alien with super strength and can be killed off by electricity in a blink of an eye?
And how are Lois and Clark getting any closer to being with each other when week after week Lois falls for the "other" superhero of the week?
And you had to feel sorry for clark at the end.. While his ex(whom I hate with a passion ) is having the sex with Lex...he's left playing with his ball? :shifty:
I feel if Lana isn't going to hook up with Clark or find a real job...then she serves no purpose. How could Clark be friends or want anything to do with Lana down the line when she's purposely breaking his heart by going with lex. I can't stand a girl who would sleep with someone just for revenge or to validate herself . Poor Clark.. All those powers and he still isn't getting the girl.
They need to kill off Lana and restore some type of sense to this show...because nothing makes any sense. With that said and done ..i'll continue to keep watching because there's no way in hell i'm watching a show like "ugly betty" at 8pm .

Lana is boring me, I always belive that they give retarded stupid parts to weman.. In all shows. How could she really hook up with Lex? I mean, and ex girlfriend of mine hooks up with my friend and he goes along with it, thats it, its over for the both of them... Nor only will I dont talk to the, I will defenetly beat him up. Lana yeah, get her killed.
Loes? W/e her name is, what can we say, she has huge breast, she has to get some good lines LMAO. And this new "Shizold face" character, well, she played it good at the end by not kissing him. :)
Last, Chloe, I dont know what is it, but I LOVE her now. I like lana before, but Chloe is my main Girl now. She is gorgeous, and her character is all around great. Only thing I hate is, why not go out with CLARK? She knows she likes him. ANd the writers, for someone who saves teh word every episode, to leave him all depresed and lonly, thats not cool.

Despite the fact that Lex apparenly never had a girl move in with him like he states, despite that the special effects were lousy conpared to season one, despite the fact that this "alien poison ivy" was a freak of a week disguised as a kryptonian enemy, despite the fact that everyone was hooking up at the last few minutes esspecially while Lex and Lana were having sex with the ending shot of Clark all alone and suffering because our writers know best and like Jason Spidy pointed out, Clark could hear those two with his superhearing, hence the suffering, I'm going to give this episode a very good rating it deserves.
2 out of 5.
Writers, cut the crap. It's been five years yet you never let Clark embrace his destiny. Stop giving Clark so much !@#$. He already has had enough heartbreaks, dead ex-girlfriends, betrayals, a bastard father who and a father who died for a stupid reason.

Lmao , so you're saying clark heard the moans and thats why he had his head down at the end of the episode? It would have been great if the last scene of the episode was a shot of a camera at his ears (super hearing) and he put his head down in disgust.
And I have to agree.. I used to love Lana and think she was sexy and stuff.. but now I think Chloe has taken over that top spot for me .Lana seems like a bum with no direction while Chloe seems to be doing things with her life .
Maybe I like Chloe more because she has more sense. If She and Clark were together ..and broke up for whatever reason.. Cole is smart enough not to trust Lex Luther..while Lana is sleeping with the enemy out of spite for Clark. Again , this really hits home because if my girl and I were to ever break up and she knew that I disliked a certain someone..there's no way my girl would ever sleep around with my enemy ... because she has class.
They need to drop a house on Lana and call it a day .

So Chloe rescues Clark and Jimmy and finds out how to kill the lame freak of the week. Who is the hero of this show again?
Chloe goes around saving the world with Clark, while Lana worries that no will like her because she was Lex and Lois and her breasts find yet another superhero to hook up with. Chloe went the whole show without a boyfriend and when she finally does get one. Saving the world and it's people is still the first thing on her mind not how do I look with my lastest eye candy around my arm.
At this point if Clark does not hook up with Chloe, he will really be a big dumb alien. But most likely Chloe is being set up to die at the end.

I seriously think that Lana is getting high on liquid kryptonite again because what sober person would make these irrational mistakes ?
Again ..there's no way Lana can come back from sleeping with the enemy ...so I hope they don't make Lana and Clark friends ever again. This was the ultimate form of betrayal ..
Either give Lana a real job or something real to do..or kill her off . I hate her character with a passion . Poor Chloe looks like she might be killed off in order to move Lois into the daily planet....hope this isn't the case .

The whole Lana and Lex having sex was just too forced and it seems the writers only want to please shippers instead of giving is good character development and interesting storylines.
Remember how last season when they had Clark and Lana have sex? The writers presented it as if they were true lovers for years and such? Yet it was easy for Lana to have sex with Lex...
Ugh. It's just like I said before. THE WRITERS DO NOT KNOW OR CARE FOR THEIR CHARACTERS! Ugh, Al and Miles seriously need to be fired or resign and leave the show into the hands of people who care for the show. Hell I could do a better job!
If I suddenly became showrunner of Smallville, here is a list of things I will do to the show:
1) Kill off Lana. Not only will her death please fans like me, but it will bring an opportunity to develop the hatred between Clark and Lex. Clark will blame Lex for putting her life on danger while Lex blames him for his lies leading her to her death. Lex will know his secret yet keep that information for himself incase he'll need a trump card.
2) Get rid of Lois and Jimmy. I don't care how, just get rid of them but with good writing instead of a poor way like they did to Pete Ross.
3) Recast Green Arrow. Justin Hartley is an okay actor but he's miscast. They only cast him as Aquaman because of his looks but thankfully he could pull it off. Green Arrow? No.
4) Let Clark go on a six episode journey fighting the phantom zone prisoners.
5) NO FILLERS.
6) Lois dies in a tragic accident and Chloe takes her identity. Why? Well if you are a talented writer and storyteller, you give me a reason enough that people will buy it. Lets not get lazy.
7) Clark will finally EMBRACE HIS DESTINY.
8) On the last nine episodes of the final season, Clark will go on a journey that will truely bring him closer to his destiny.

You just supported my idea by saying she did nothing. Lois is in there for nothing but fan service. The character was used well in episodes Crusade and Gone. After that, there is really no point to have her on the show. Chloe is more like Lois Lane than Lois Lane. Infact before Lois even showed up on the show, fans have been wondering if Chloe was actually Lois Lane the whole time. They actually found "Lois Lane" in Chloe Sullivan. And once Chloe decided to use someone else's name to protect her identity, she used her couisn's name and everyone thought one day Lois Lane would die and Chloe would adopt her name for whatever was necessary. That sounds like a good twist to be honest, and it would make more sense.
As for me killing characters, I only would kill characters either for forwarding the plot. I already gave my reason for killing Lana. Infact the episode Reckoning had a big chance to change the show forever like it claimed. Lana dies, Lex learns Clark's secret and their hatred for eachother develops. That's a big change. That's a show growing for me. However, Al and Miles literally pressed the reset button and none of that has ever happened, and we only got Pa Kent dying for a stupid reason.
Pa Kent's death didn't do anything for the show like producers claimed. They believed because Superman: The Movie had Pa Kent dying, he should die in Smallville as well. WRONG!
In the comics Pa Kent is alive and well and I personally love John Schneider as Pa Kent. He's probably the best actor to play the character and was the heart of the show. A real good character. One of the few characters on the show to remain consistent and never get out of character. Producers promised that Pa Kent's death would have Clark grow up and become a man. Yeah, a man who sits alone in his loft playing with his ball while everyone hooking up is real progress.

OK I didnt know about that Chloe = Lois thing. I actually belive that was or is a good idea. Problem is, you would still be killing a character that even though has done noting, there is really no need to kill her. Again, its just my opinion.

Pretty much forced as usual. Like in that one episode they bring in that girl with that hypnoitzing power who seduces Clark and makes him call Lana for her to come over to the loft... while the two are about to bump uglies. That was the writers' excuse for breaking up the supposed "we were made for eachother" couple they have been bringing up for five years.
So why is she with Lex? Because the writers want to see what happens when they get together, bring up another triangle for Clark and have a lame excuse for Lana to treat Clark like a fink.
Funny, Clark saved her over a hundred times yet she treats him like crap for that. WTF is up with her? Ungreatful. And what's pathetic is that the writers don't see that as her flaw. They even make Clark admit he's a fink by "it's all my fault" moments in the loft.
I just watched Shattered... GOD. I forgot how good Smallville used to be. Just amazing how far the quality went down.:(

hello guys.:w00t:
I love watching this show because of clark and lois..
And I know that they write the character of chloe greatly and some fans of her want to change her name and be lois lane (what just because of her love in journalism and some of her nice caring traits) :p
but this is what I think of her traits..
In the Superman mythology. She has Lana's role as bestfriend; confidant and "voice of reason" for Clark. She has Clark's brain and LnC partnership. She has Lois's love for journalism and future job. I mean how can Lois, Clark and Lana be who they are destined to be, if Chloe has everything that they need to become their future selves?
they should take her away someday:rolleyes:.. She has become the hero of the show which should be clark..
(then chloe should have this traits too)
Lois Lane, making a great first impression on Clark Kent for over 60 years.
1943 (comics Lois Lane)
Contrary, mule-headed, aggravating"
1993 (LNC Lois Lane)

I personally love Lois and nothing about Chloe has ever screamed at me, "she's the real Lois Lane!" I'm convinced Lois is Lois, and this is coming from a comic book fan who knows who Lois is.

I think they are gonna go with Clark putting together the Justice League. Even if the timeline is not perfect.. It will help keep ratings up and more and more seasons. I like this show best of all Superman so far.
Flash was the fast guy right that stole his wallet etc? He suggested they form a club if I remember correcly..

Flash was the fast guy right that stole his wallet etc? He suggested they form a club if I remember correcly..
Yeah...he was in like season 3 and stole Jonathan kent's wallet after saving his life...his name was Bart or something...different from the comic version of the flash's secret identity...
I think the plan for the epi isOliver Queen is going to try and form the beginnings "justice league" and clark is going to be very apprehensive about the whole idea Remeber in the last episode, Oliver told Clark that he should not hide his talents and abilities and that the world needs people like them and that they need to go find the people who need their help...
I think that is because unlike Clark, someone knows who each of the future members are....the mobsters who used the Flash knew who he was, Lex and the people who experimented on Cyborg know who he is, Lex knows there is something special about Aquaman. Oliver is outed but only to Clark and visa versa. Clark also has one factors that none of them really have to fear...he's not human...
We'll see..."Justice" i hope will prove to be a big highlight for season six...so far this season has been eh...

Is anyone supposed to be threatened by Lana? She's like a little kid playing dress up. Stop trying to make her equal to Lex, she's not and never will be. She'll never match the S3 ChLuthor storyline. Which was 10 times more interesting.
What's with Lex to keep pointing out that Chloe never had a boyfriend? Is that a the producers dig at Chloe since the don't seem to like her. Which makes me believe more and more that Chloe will die this season or next (if they have one)
Finally Clark was the center of his own show. Now if they just write Blahna out of the show, it can be good.
Raise of hands of who didn't know that Raya would bite it by the end of the ep. They are so predictible it's not even funny anymore.

Now this episode got interesting at the beginning because I thought we were going to have another brilliant performance by Michael Rosenbaum dealing with the isolation. Instead we got "Lana and the Scooby Doo Gang".
They pretty much downgraded an interesting plot w/ Clark, Batista and Martian Manhunter into a sub-plot that lasted a total of 10 minutes. Martian Manhunter making an appearance was much more suprising that the supposed "suprise" in the last five minutes CW promoted. *sigh* Will they understand that we don't care about Lana and Lex? I saw that whole proposal happening. I wasn't suprised. It was predictable teen drama.
Oh and Batista. What a powerful performance by a "special guest star" the show credited him by. All he did was act like Nuclear Man from Superman IV, complete with stretching his arms in the air and howling. Why is it that every channel WWE is involved with, that they HAVE to throw a wrestler in a sister show? They did this on USA, TNN, UPN and now they're doing it again as usual on CW. I doubt Batista would have appeared if there was still a WB and UPN. He would have ended up on Veronica Mars.
Hell they even reused OLD PLOTS.
Anbody remember Jitters? The episode with a freak of the week taking Luthor Corp plant hostage so he could be led to a hidden LEVEL 3 room that had experiments? And in the end it turns out the whole project was removed?
This one lost.
1 of 5 stars Clark was horribly underused and the sub-plot should have been the main focus instead of Lexana bull!@#$.

She just wants sex. That's all she wants. I mean seriously. That's basically the reason (to me, anyway) why she left Clark. Clark wouldn't tell her why because it involves his secret (i.e. being an alien) and therefore, she went to Lex.
This not trusting Clark, but trusting Lex thing is just a cover story for her wanting sex. Then she goes and gets herself preggers.

She's completely useless on this show now. They could've given Lex any random brunette and I would be more invested in thier relationship.
She's not only whiny and annoying now she's become the dumbest person on the show. She just trusts everything that comes out of Lex's mouth despite knowing things he's done in the past. But I suppose everyone on this show conivently forgets things.

No Lana and a bunch of hot guys what's not to love.
I have to say cheesefest aside I really enjoyed the ep. AlMiles see how much more fun your episodes can be without showcasing your precious Lana. It shows once again how useless she is on the show.
We have Clark being a hero and learning that teamwork can be fun, the return or finally badass Lex and Chloe as the Oracle. I wish every episode could be like that.
I'm really digging the Chlark friendship, she even got called sidekick. lol It's nice to know that the two Heroes Clark and Oliver cannot share their secrets with there so called greatest loves, but have no problem when Chloe finds out. It's show how much Clark's trust in Chloe is, if the rest of the team have no problem trusting her too. I would watch a show with Clark, Aquaman, Cyborg, Impulse, Green Arrow and Watchtower.

I saw Justice and I was much more pleased with this episode than last year's "event" episode Reckoning which I found to be a significant downfall for the series. This episode along with Solitude proves that Lana is not needed. She never has provided anything besides turning Lex into a sick love puppy, kept Clark from focusing on more important things and kept complaining about everyone lying when she has been doing the very same thing to everyone and herself. A total hypocrit who doesn't belong on the show anymore, her purpose as "high school sweetheart" has been served.
Justice was absolutely great. Lots of action, teamwork with Chloe having more screentime and Clark stepping up, doing the right things and not pussying out (probably because Lana is not involved).
I wish the series could continue this quality but I highly doubt it. I would only consider it if they made 5 episodes in a row that were amazing. Having an "event" episode says something about the show. Every episode should be an event, not treated below, that is what Al and Miles haven't learned. This season so far has been absolutely horrible with maybe only two or three great episodes including Justice. They really need to stop putting plot devices in front of Clark that keeps him from starting his training. Eversince season two the kryptonian plot has built up to just making a fortress of solitude and getting training and that has been stretched to five seasons. Not a lot of progress happened besides that.
I hear there is an episode later where Lois wears red kryptonite lipstick, kisses Clark and causes Clark to crash Lex and Lana's wedding to create more unnecessary melodrama. I am depressed. They need to keep it up.

Ok...after "Crimson" enough is enough...
I know that Lana not knowing Clark's secret is part of the whole series plot line, but after her witnessing him being stabbed in the side...COME ON!!! Just drop the bomb on her already (she is a thick one so it may not register for another season). It just pisses me off that they continually drag this story line out...that and that stupid love triangle between Clark/Lana/Lex. Just end the crappola already!!!
On another note, "Labrinyth" was excellent, with the Martian Man hunter kickin ass (sort of)...
Crimson was a fun episode...they are definately easing in on the attraction of Clark to Lois (and even a little the other way around) but they really are getting weak with devices and circumstances in which Clark can be affected by the kryptonite and how the green snapped him out of the red rush....meh. One thing that has always peeved me about smallville and they did it again...the stupid manison office set...this supposedly hugh manison has one FREAKIN room that they use for everything!!! build a new set i beg you!!

Yes the point of the last episode was to FINALLY reveal Clark's secret to Lana...oh wait...THEY STILL DIDN'T!!! At this rate, Lois is going to find out before Lana! Yeah, Lana has pretty much been bipolar this season with being tough and wimp..."you mess with me you are gonna get it"/"help me, ive fallen an i can't get up"
I will at least give it that she is finding out a lot more about clark in the past two episodes than the entire series combined. Just took her planning on marrying the now crazy and power hungry Lex Luthor to finally figure out Clark's secret. The revisit to her necklace was pretty cool (Although she of course was being noisy...throughout the entire episode but whatever)
And man is Lex an a$$...here let me rub some more salt in an already open wound and then pour hydrochloric acid just to make sure you get the point...just make the guy evil already...this dichotomy is getting annoy...kinda like Lana
and why the hell are Erica Durance and John Glover in the opening credits...THEY ARE NEVER ON THE SHOW!!! Which totally sucks because their characters are awesome...

This weeks episode was so much better then Crapsion. Clark actually using all his powers.
superhearing, superspeed, superbreath, superstrength, x-ray vision, invulurabilty and heat vision. and reminding me that this show is about Superman.
I could watch a show about Superboy and his hacking sidekick Chloe. They make a great team.
That scene were Clark used his heat vision to save her was intense and well acted on both TW and AM's part. I think the Chlark friendship is the heart of those show not Clana!
I don't know what to think of Chloe possibly being a Freak. Because unless she's like Lex with his strong immune system. We have not seen her have any powers for almost 20 years.

Actually there were superpowers, just nothing new introduced. It has super strength, superspeed, and heat vision.
And yeah, it was overhyped. I think that CW was just after the ratings. They don't really have a lot written so they had to resort to plot contrivances like dreams, manipulations, and different POV shots.
Nothing was resolved and, if anything, just dished out more Langst.

I think that was actually the dumbest episode of Smallville yet.
We went all the way back to Season 1 and everything they've done was just wiped away in one ep.
This isn't a show about how teenage Clark Kent became Superman or how Lex became an evil mastermind it's about a vapid selfish girl that turns men into whiny, obessesed slaves. I can't ever see this Clark Kent becoming Superman.
Agreed! ARRRGGHHH!!! Lana is so lame! I wanted to grab her and say, "How could you do this to Clark AGAIN???" After what she did and what she told him! The least she could do is say something like, "it's to save your life!" or, "It's Lionel!" It was SUCH a good episode until Lana chickened out.
In re: Lana's obstetrician: Did I miss something? What's the big secret about Lana's pregnancy? Did Lex inseminate her to make her marry him? Has Lex faked the pregnancy, same reason as above? I just wondered if I missed something from earlier epis, or if this is something that's still being kept secret from the audience. If you know any spoilers, dont tell me! :giggle: I just wanted to know if I missed something.

Hum maybe it's Superboy.. Didn't Clarke sleep with her that time he was without powers for a couple days?

As stated for the nth time...Lana needs to DIE!!!
Her character has not only made both Clark and Lex wimps and whinners, she is a TOTAL HYPOCRITE and backstabber to boot! They try to make her off to be this martyr that she is marrying Lex because she has to...well yeah...AFTER Lionel threaten Clark's life...he didn't force her to date Lex, he didn't force her to accept Lex's marriage proposal, he didn't "knock" her up...she was her own, Lex's, and Clark's demon up until the moment Lionel put the cards on the table...i'm sick of her character and her constant triangle crap...what if she hadn't found out Clark's secret...would it have made a difference...probably...Lana is shallow and dumb...DIE LANA DIE!
Plus they make Clark out to be a "love sick puppy" over her...GET OVER IT ALREADY!!! He was gonna propose marriage to her if she showed up at the barn...huh...how about you reem her out for accepting a proposal from a man she doesn't want to marry after finding out your secret...(i'm very sinical i know) So Superman was mixed up in a weird love triangle that made him a sad, desperate man at one point in his life...wow...they are really making the character mature on this one...my hero...*pukes*
Plus being a fan of Clark and Lois (i'm not in denial that they will get any kind of romance interaction, besides goofy crap like crimson, ever during the run of Smallville), they have made it off like Clark's soulmate and true love is Lana....UH NO...Lois is the one he is fated to be with...kinda the whole Superman mythology has hinted or STATED that fact...Lois' character is at least consistant and three-dimensional and NOT a constant love triangle focus or tease for Clark or Lex.
Oh yeah...the BIG REVEAL...could it have been any lamer?! Chloe trapped in the wine cellar...uh...wow...they make clark out to be this closeted "meteor freak" that Lana FINALLY puts the pieces together about...big big big boo hiss...that is a six year running plot line and they made it so freakin lame in the end...Clark stopping cars or catching them for Pete and Chloe's reveal respectively at least were a bit more dramatic...
Promise was horrible...just horrible...
Bring on an episode that hopefully will either not have Lana's presence or her death scene!

YES!!!
Best Smallville in a loooong time, Clark was awesome and something terrible happened to Lana! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
:rotflol: That's bad. :giggle:
I knew she'd have to lose that baby. No way were they going to have Lex with a son/daughter on that show. Too weird. I wondered at first if she was pregnant at all. Now I think he's been doing 3.1-style experiments on her.

I don't think Lana was ever pregnant to begin with. I think Lex drugged her when he gave her the non-alc champagne just before she passed out and then had the doctor play along like she lost the baby. I think that's why he rushed the wedding and then did this so quickly since he knew she would wonder why she wasn't showing. It was all a ploy to get her to marry him.
I used to like the Lex/Lana relationship but I'm getting to the point that I can't stand Lana. They don't have anywhere close to the chemistry they had in prior seasons and everytime she runs back to Clark, I want to kick her.
Lex is still my favorite though - especially evil Lex :plotting:

Yea Lex is holding the show...
After all these seasons can we friggin get past Lana?
High School is over already... It's just retread..
Everything was great up to the League episode where they blew up Lex's
research facility then after that the shows been retreading "high school days" for some reason.
BOO poor writing...

Pretty good ep tonight, not much relevant story, but it was pretty entertaining.

This isn't a show about how teenage Clark Kent became Superman or how Lex became an evil mastermind it's about a vapid selfish girl that turns men into whiny, obessesed slaves. I can't ever see this Clark Kent becoming Superman.
:(
Thats why I have pretty muched stopped watching...but all the talk has me intrigued....Lana FINALLY learned the truth?
of course it was after they over used her character...ruined the writing...and generally ...well everyones said it no reason for me too

Is Erica Durance still portraying Lois Lane on this show? She's sexy and talented!

Yes, Lois is not on too much though. They've ruined that character too.
Lois isnt hardly ever on anymore.
It's good to finally see the evil side of Lana instead of the whiny side. :p Looks like Lex is rubbing off on her.

WOW
That recap of the season was some of the best TV EVAR!
edit: That whole hour was some of the best TV ever, any fillers transgression they pulled at the begging of the season is forgiven. This is Superman.
Also: that was a brilliant way to do a cliffhanger, I'm hyped for next season, but I'm not in pain over the fact that I have to wait a long time for it.

It's hard to watch nowdays. Everything seems like it's been done over and over and like they just rehash.
Let's hope more Superman stuff and less teen hormones next season.

I wish Lana was dead but we all know that Ice Cream truck saved her. And they kill Chloe...she has the worst power ever -_- Yes, let's kill of the only character that was still semi-interesting in the series. Next season...Clark vs Clark, oooh how original! I am disappointed with this season finale but then again, this year every season finale has been a major let down :-(

Uh, that's not Clark. It's BIZARRO!!! One of Superman's many arch enemies--Bizarro is an imperfect clone of Superman--he's only vulnerable to Blue Kryptonite and his S is backwards!
Angelmonster

I know but still, the clone thing has been done before. There ar eplenty of villains int he superman comic that would be more interesting and not so cliche.

How do we know she's dead? it never said that she's dead, and a life stimulating power would be pretty useless if you died after you used it. Allison Mack hasn't been let go yet anyway, at least as far as we know.
Let's hope more Superman stuff and less teen hormones next season.
Based on the finale I'd say that's definite.

Bizarro is anything but Cliche. He's often comic relief, but he can be a really devious villain at times.

I hope Chloe is not dead, can't believe they would kill her like that. So she has healing powers or something?
Coconut1214
05-21-2007, 09:06 AM
I noticed that they have to put Chloe's life in peril every finale. Because no one gives a crap if Lana dies. I cheered...then realized that the stupid milk truck went in front and she could've easily jumped into that. :(
So they have to give us something to come back to every season and the is Chloe dead or alive works everytime for me. If in the premiere she really died then I'm through, I only watch for her and Clark's scenes. And also what kind of power would that be? She saves a life only to die. (espically Lois who is completely useless on this show) They also better not make "this" Lois Lane into iconic Lois Lane because she stole Chloe's life force.
But I hope her power doesn't kill her I want her to join the Justice League as Watchtower, she'll be even more useful now if she can heal them after they get hurt (since none of them have super healing) provided that she doesn't die everytime she does that. She's been doing less reporting since she's been Clark's side kick, she's more interested in saving the world. I hope the writers give Chloe a good send off like that, since she's not cannon.

Oh, crap. I didnt even think of that. :faint: Hope they dont get any ideas if they're reading this. :p

Your right, I should delete it since these writers can't come up with their own original ideas and they seem to hate Chloe. And also since "this" Lois Lane only wanted to become a reporter when a barn door almost hit her breasts. lol
:giggle:
I sure hope Chloe hangs around...:(
