I remember UPN's the Haunted starring Matthew Fox which he plays a private investigator who still grieving over his three-year-old son's death. During a struggle with a serial killer on a rooftop he is killed but comes back to life and sees ghosts. He eventually accepts it and helps the spirits who can't move on because they've left things undone in life. His ex-wife and friend try to find out what's going on with him, but of course he can't tell anybody he sees spirits. This was a very good show, very creepy at times. Fox's performance was outstanding in my book. The last episode I saw was when the serial killer(who also died on the rooftop) came back to haunt him.

On the one hand, I'm still bitter that UPN canceled it before it had a chance to really find an audience (which I believe it would have if people had given it a try). OTOH, I'm happy that Matt is on Lost and now I can't imagine anyone else playing Jack.

I'm converting my tapes to DVD and when I get that done I can make some clips for the webmaster of MFWeb if she wants them. His performance in Haunted was so fantastic that I want everyone to see it. :)

Wow, I completely forgot about that show. I only watched the pilate episode. Actually, I was taking a tv class at school and everyone had to tape the first episode of a new show to take into class and I taped Haunted. I can't really remember anything from it though.

It was a pretty original show and Matt was really great in it... and not to make you all jealous... but I think here in Italy we will be able to see the whole 13 episodes they filmed... it always happens with interrupted show. But I have no idea which episode they showed this week... it was about a blind guy... must be the 7th or 8th episode. I often miss it because I can't help but forget about shows that air at a late hour... no matter how much I like them. :(

I'm glad someone already created a thread for Haunted. I wanted so much to watch Matt in this series that I searched the entire web for it. I found a seller at Ebay selling 11 episodes in VCD format plus the original pilot that never aired. So I bought it. They arrived TODAY and I have watched already the first 2 episodes and checked in fast foward the other discs. They are all playing on my DVD player but only the unaired pilot and episode # 5 has a good picture. All the other discs are horrible !!! And he charged me $40.00 plus $10.00 for shipping (the actual shipping was $5.00). But I wanted to watch Haunted so much that I didn't mind paying $50.00. If there is anyone here that would like me to copy these VCDs please let me know and we can find a way to do it. I don't know how much it would cost to mail 12 dics from Brazil to the US but I don't think it costs too much because it doesn't weight much. I have a Paypal account and I would only charge for actual shipping and the blank CR-roms. Since copying VCD to VCD directly on the PC does not degrade the image quality, the copies would be as good as the ones I have here. Sadly almost all discs have a terrible image, though the sound is fine. :o

Hi Waggidy ! :) Do you mean DVD or VCD ? $40.00 for 12 VCDs with very bad image is much too expensive (specially for me here in Brazil, the US Dollar is worth almost 300% of Brazilian currency), but I had no chboice. That's what the only seller on Ebay asked for the disks. I searched for 3 weeks and she/he was the only person selling these. Where did you buy your's ? On Ebay ? I don't understand why the image quality is so bad. I've been downloading TV series episodes form the internet for years and the quality is always pretty nice. And the ones being done today are amazing ! Look at the DVD quality the Lost episodes have. :)
The only Haunted epsiodes that have a better image (and still pretty bad) are the unaired pilot and # 5. When I watch them on my 15' monitor it's OK, but on my 29' TV it shows hundreds of blocks all over the image and the image isn't crystal clear, you can't see very well the actor's face expression. I would never recommend this Ebay seller. Speaking of Ebay seller... I went back to the auction page to leave me feedback for the seller and he isn't registered at Ebay anymore.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I have been lurking for a while, mostly intimedated by some of the firely posts I've seen in other sections of the Lost Forum. Hopefully I can find harmony by sticking to the MF forum (which I'm sure I will, since we are all fans of the same dude :) ) I don't need to get nasty online...I already do that at work :rant:

Anacosta, I mean DVDs, and they really are $20 USD for all 3 DVDs (including shipping in the U.S.) All the episodes are watchable on my 32" TV. Watching them on my 65" TV is pushing it but who can resist getting real close and personal with MF on a big screen? :lotsalove

I found a post on IMDB offering the DVDs so I decided to give it a try. $20 isn't too much of a risk for me compared to the offers I've found on Ebay ($60 for VHS?????). The image quality is bad on your VCDs because they are probably a copy of a copy of VHS tapes that someone made of Haunted when it was showing on a cable channel. I also made sure I checked with my husband (who is king of online shopping) before I shell out that $20. There are good sellers on Ebay, but there are also a lot of bad sellers. I'd suggest you file a complaint with Ebay regarding the seller so they might have a file on that seller for future refereces.

Guys, go get your Haunted DVDs...we need to start discussing how great (and yummy) MF was on this bizzare show!

I love this show. I got mine from Ebay and thought they were fine. They weren't perfect but they weren't bad. I wouldn't expect DVD quality as they would have naturally had to have been recorded off the television first and then converted back into VCD format. But I didn't have any trouble viewing them or making out the actor's expressions.

But anyway it's a great show. MF is in practically every scene. And his character Frank Taylor is very sympathetic. He does some great acting. There are a couple interesting little guest appearances including the lead singer of one of Matt's favorite bands, Green Day. :)

In fact I was thinking of watching Haunted again tonight and tomorrow(off for President's Day)

Unfortunately the show was dubbed (and unfortunately Matt didn't have a very good dubber...) and I never taped it. I would have done it for you girls... but in Italian... :(

So I was able to watch the last episodes unaired and I think one of them was about a ghost girls falling in love with Frank and he was really into her too but obviously in the end he helped her to move away... one of the best eps! Unfortunately I have never liked the character of Frank's wife (I pretty much couldn't stand her) and the final eps were all about their relationship... I guess the writers wanted to make them go back together... bah! @_@ That's the only thing I didn't like in the show...

But I'm glad some of you have been able to find the episodes on e-bay! :) Great performance by Matt but I have to admit that it was still miles away from his amazing performance on Lost!

Lalla, you didn't like his wife? I actually really liked the relationship they had between Frank and his ex-wife. It's like that neither of them could quite manage to move on(though she tried and he almost fell in love with a ghost:)). And I liked his former partner as well. They had a really cool relationship too. He also had a tattoo artist friend(someone he'd apparently helped while he was a cop, you know, the guy was always getting into trouble but was obviously a good person that sort of thing) who played a role sometimes, apparently this guy's grandmother had been a psychic so he helped Frank in the sense of his needing to reveal he saw ghosts to SOMEONE and what they might be trying to tell him.

You couldn't help but feel kind of sorry for Frank, he was obviously a really good guy but his son's guilt over his son's kidnapping and not knowing what really happen just caused his life to kind of go down the tubes and he ended up kind of isolated and lonely. He had his friends obviously but between the missing son and the dead visiting him...he was sort of alone. You know things aren't good when you see someone drinking alone and Frank had a tendency to do that(he also liked to play the ponies but he didn't seem to go overboard--the lead singer of Green Day had a cameo in one of the episodes as a "ghost" who almost helped Frank win big at the racetrack:))

AGHHHHHHHH! Ok so here's what happened :mad: I told my hubby he had to tape the show for me and he said ok. So he moved his VCR from his room to his living room where they have their HUGE HDTV. For some reason, when he hooked it up and turned the channel to an HD channel (which is what Haunted was on)...none of the channels would show up. I tried to get on here to tell you that I didn't know what to do...when my b/f's stupid computer would not turn on right. It wouldn't even load so I had no internet! I didn't know what to do! We asked his friend, the computer whiz, and he had no idea. My b/f thinks that his TV and that VCR won't work together. I feel so bad! I feel like I got everyone's hopes up and of course, my luck, it didn't work :( . I really wanted to give you guys a DVD full of Haunted and I wasn't gonna charge you $ or anything (come on, it's Foxy! No one should have to pay when we love him this much! lol) Anyways, if we can think of anything before next Thursday I will try it. Any suggestions?

On a side note, I watched it and it was a good show...I don't understand why it was cancelled. His character in that episode reminded me of Jack. Matt was awesome as always.

AGHHHHHHHH! Ok so here's what happened :mad: I told my hubby he had to tape the show for me and he said ok. So he moved his VCR from his room to his living room where they have their HUGE HDTV. For some reason, when he hooked it up and turned the channel to an HD channel (which is what Haunted was on)...none of the channels would show up...
JCD22 thank you for trying. Please thank your boyfriend for being so generous too. I know that moving VCRs and re-connecting them to TV sets can be a pain.

I have no idea what went wrong. What I know about VCRs and cable or satelite is this:

You have two options of cables to connect a cable or satelite decoder to a VCR. They are:
RF (radio frequency) and RCA (those cables you use to connect HI FI). Your boyfriend's decoder should have RCA output. However It might not have the old RF output. It probably has Super-VHS output too and maybe another type too called componet out. Well a normal VCR ONLY has two kinds of inputs. RF or RCA. So forget about the decoder having component or Super-VHS outputs.

What you need to do to get a channel working on a VCR is this:

Look at the back of the decoder and find the 3 RCA outputs (2 audio, 1 video). The colors of these outputs are yellow for video, red for left audio channel, white for right audio channel. Then insert these in the VCR's Input. Just check where it says video in and audio in on the back (or front) of the VCR. Pay close attention to the number of the input of your VCR. Some VCRs have 2 inputs so you need to know to which one you connected the RCA cables.

Let's say you connected the decoder cables (the RCA cables) in the VCR's input # 1.
Remember that input number because you will need to put the VCR in that channel in order to watch and TAPE the TV shows.

Now, you ALSO need to connect your VCR to your TV set. For this again, use 3 RCA cables. Look at the back of the VCR for video out and audio out. Insert the cables there. The other end of the cable you insert in one of the TV's inputs. It probably has 3 or even 4 inputs, so chose one that is not being used by a DVD player or other stuff.

After you connect the VCR to a input on the TV Set. Select on the TV, the channel you just setup for the VCR. Run a VHS tape and see if you can see it on the TV. If you can you will know you have connected your VCR correctly to the TV.

Second test... LEAVE the TV on that channel (the channel you use to watch VHS tapes).
Put the VCR in the INPUT channel you used for connecting the cables FROM the decoder to the VCR. Let's say you connected the 3 RCA cables FROM the decoder TO the VCR in the INPUT # 1. So change your VCR channels until it reaches the INPUT # 1. Stop there. NOW turn the decoder on. The IMAGE and SOUND coming from the decoder SHOULD be showing now. If it is, all is perfect.

Third test, TAPE:

WITH the TV still on the channel you use to watch VHS tapes, and the VCR still on the INPUT # 1, browse your decoder to the channel you wish to record. Let's say, HDNET. Press REC on the VCR and you are recording. To check the recording, just press stop and then play. You should see on the TV what you just recorded.

It is very easy, believe me. I would do it in 5 minutes because I am used to moving my VCRs, DVDs, and TVs around the house. But I can see how it might sound confusing if you don't have experience doing this.

JCD22, if your boyfriend did all the above steps and still was unable to get any image from the HD channels, then maybe the HD transmission won't allow a connection to a VCR, only to a DVD recorder. If that is the case you won't be able to record anything from HD channels. But I don't think that is the case. It would make no sense for them to do that. Why would they want to punish their subscribers with the impossibility of taping on good old VHS ? My guess is that your boyfriend didn't insert the cables properly.

If you have a chance try printing this post and follow each step while connecting and I am sure it will work. Here are the basics in fast steps:

What you need:
Two sets of 3 RCA cables each. This is easy to buy almost anywhere.

Steps:

1) Connect (with the RCA cables) the VCR's VIDEO OUT and AUDIO OUT to the TV's VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN.

2) Connect (with the other RCA cables) the Decoder's VIDEO OUT and AUDIO OUT to the VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN of the VCR.

3) TAKE NOTE of the number of the inputs you used, BOTH on the VCR and the TV set.

4) Turn the VCR, the decoder and the TV on.

5) On the TV, SELECT the A/V (audio/video) channel (the input) you chose for the connection to the VCR.

6) On the VCR, SELECT the A/V (audio/video) channel (the input) you chose for the connection to the decoder.

7) On the Decoder, SELECT the channel you want to watch or record.

By then you SHOULD be watching on the TV the chosen channel from the decoder. The VCR will be ready to tape, needing only to press the REC button. :)

Please don't give up ! Hope I helped somehow.

Where was I ? I'll send you a private message asking for more details about the person that sold the Haunted DVDs to you. I am interested in trying to buy them since I am unhappy with the VCDs I got from an Ebay seller. :(

I did manage to contact a person that says he has DVDs of Haunted (and I think it si also 3). But the answr he gave me was very weird. I asked if he taped directly from TV, if his original recordings were on VHS or DVD (since Fox rerun all episodes in January) and how did he make the DVDs. I asked him these questions because that would give me a good idea of the quality of the DVDs. His reply was strange to say the least. He didn't say HE recorded them. So it made me think he bought it from someone and is now selling a copy. He didn't answer me about the quality, how it was recorded, if from VHS or DVD, if it's a copy or directly from TV. The only thing he said was that he couldn't say for sure that his DVDs are very good because that's relative, what is good for him might not be good for me... and that I should consider the fact that the show was on MANY YEARS AGO (???) so that would also accopunt for the quality not being perfect !

Now... how can you trust a person that gives you such weird information about something he is selling ? And since when did Haunted air SO MANY YEARS AGO :confused:
It's obvious he didn't record it or he would know Haunted was on in 2002.

I'm beginning to feel HAUNTED by Haunted... :o

Anacosta, I mean DVDs, and they really are $20 USD for all 3 DVDs (including shipping in the U.S.) All the episodes are watchable on my 32" TV. Watching them on my 65" TV is pushing it but who can resist getting real close and personal with MF on a big screen? :lotsalove

Sorry I didn't get in here to post those clips myself. Thank you to adlin for taking it upon herself to do it. :D I had so much trouble getting my stupid Windows Movie Maker to work one night(can't figure out why, it has worked fine both before and after:)) and then I was busy this week with family stuff(wedding(not mine:)), out of towners, etc) and every time I thought "Oh that's right I need to post to Lost-Forum" I would get distracted and forget again. So I apologize again, it wasn't deliberate.

Foxy did look...well... foxy didn't he? LOL! I enjoyed the episodes they filmed. It just is not fight what they keep hidden on Lost. Just not right at all. :D And the acting was really good, which is the most important. I love pointing out the part in the second premier clip where Simon's ghost tricks Frank and says to him "You couldn't even save your son", look the change in Fox's face. It's brilliant, very small but very powerful.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Jack and Kate started romancing without the rest of the group knowing ?

For instance, they would leave the cave and end up showering together in an isolated forest cascade and their first kiss would happen there. Then they would agree to keep it a secret. We would all share their secret but no one else on the Island would know. They would only smooch when alone, in fact, they would leave the cave every now and then just to meet in their secret place. Then some weird scenes would happen every now and then because no one would know about the two and it would make them uncomfortable yet they wouldn't tell anyone why. It would only build up the mystery around the two.

I think it would be more interesting that way, than if the entire group saw them dating. ;)

I think the only reason for a HD channel to not let you record something is if they only allow image to be viewed by a S-VHS connection. If that is the case, then the VCR has to be a S-VCR which uses S-VHS tape and has a S-VHS connector.

But I sincerely doubt this is the case. If the cable or satelite system your boyfriend uses has a TV OUT RCA connection, then just use those to connect to the VCR In jacks. :)
See if you can test record before Thursday ;)

Yeah, it showed a slightly "lighter" side(about as light as this show gets anyway:)) with the girls in the club. For the dramatic, I really like that scene with the parents of the girl. Again just some terrific subtle acting--you can almost feel his stomach drop when the mother says the other daughter's name was Tierney just by the expression his face gets(of course it would be easier to see if I could get better copies, I could but then they would be quite a bit larger in terms of MB's for not really that much more clearness and I want to make sure they are as accessible to as many people as possible).

LostWord isn't it frustrating that the scenes in Haunted are almost always so dark ?
It would be much better for us if they had shot the episodes in which we could see Foxy better...
That's one of the reasons I am frustrated with the Haunted VCDs I bought on Ebay. If they were recorded from TV in DVD format (or VHS for this matter) at least the image would be much bigger and the poor light of the scenes would be less noticed.

It's really too bad that we can't make much better clips as you said, without compremising the size.

BTW... speaking of dark and lighter scenes... have you all noticed that so far the only episode of lost that gave us a good Jack close up was # 5, that scene at the airport where Jack is trying to board his father's coffin ?

Yeah, that's another thing we need to start a campaign over--more closeups of Jack on Lost. Matt's got such a wonderfully expressive face, especially his eyes. They really need to use it more.

I wish I could get the clips to brighten up a little. When I watch them, I usually adjust the video settings on my Windows Media Player to make them a little bit brighter. But I wish there was some way I could do that as part of making the clip. Unfortunately Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a brightness feature to adjust the brightness or color of the clips.

I also like the closeup when he's just about ready to cry in White Rabbit before and after a flashback, and then Boone comes to him to yell at him for the Joanna drowning incident, and Jack's like, "not now, man". And I LOVE his closeups in ATBCHDI. His eyes can do anything!

He's so good at making those expressions that he takes me there where he is. I mean I feel like he's feeling at the moment. If he's sad, I'm sad, if he's mad, I'm mad...etc. He's an awsome actor. Please brake the tabs on the VHS tapes so you will prevent accidental erasing of the tapes and keep them in a safe place. :) They are so rare, you must not loose them. :)

I hope you will be able to get it on DVD :) The only two ways to do that is you either have a stand alone DVD recorder and you connect your VCR to it and just press REC, or you have a DVD writer on your PC with a video capture card. Then you capture the episode from the VCR to the PC with the capture card. Once in the PC you insert a blank DVD and copy the episode to it. It's actually much easier to have a stand alone DVD recorder since you only need to press REC and you're done. But if you don't have one then you would need the PC with a DVD writer and a video capture card. The problem of transfering VHS to PC is that you need a good capture card to do it, and you need to know how to convert with quality or you end up with pretty bad image and sound. And it also takes quite an amount of time (not to mention HD space). If you use a less expensive capture card, you'll only be able to capture in small resolution and the final DVD might look good on a PC monitor but would look pretty bad on a regular TV. The esiest way would be to use a stand alone DVD recorder where you only need to select what quality you wish to record on. XP (in some models HQ) for 1 hour recording (the DVD only records 1 hour, it's the BEST quality ever!), SP = it records 2 hours, LP = 4 hours and EP = 6 hours. I have a stand alone DVD recorder (Panasonic 100H) and in XP and SP mode it is amazing but in LP and EP it's pretty crappy. : ( So my DVDs only play a maximum of 2 hours.
But what matters to me is the quality so I don't mind :)

Why don't you use a software called "TMPGEnc" ? I have an earlier version of it that was free (now you need to pay for the new version though you can still use a 30 day trial of it). I can upload it to rapidsahre if you wnat me to because this free version is hard to find nowadays. It's only 1.30MB in size. I can even send it via e-mail if you want. It is considered one of the best video editors of all times. It's easy, fast and works great. It uses all the video and audio codecs you have installed in your system so you can actually recompress a video clip with whatever codec you wish like Miscrosoft MPG4 or Xvid. It is sooo easy to use... you can do so many things with this software. Edit a scene, lighten it up, add focus, deinterlaced (for files extracted from a DVD), add color, change color or put it in b&W, contrast, tint, make the sound louder or use fade in and fade out for the sound. You can crop the image and select another video size. It does not have special effects but it is a very powerful tool for video editing. If you never used it you should give it a try. :)

When I make Lost, Hauntedand even Party of Five clips I always lighten the image and add some focus to it. :)

Ah... you must solve that problem. I only make the videos (when in avi format) in Micorsoft MPEG4 or Xvid codec. The bittorrent episodes of Lost you can download are made with the Xvid codec so if you have one of them and you can play it then your PC already has Xvid installed. So you only need to have the latest MS MPEG4 codec. Please donwload it from this link:

Even if you don't use windows media player to play your video files, you still need to have the latest video codecs installed to be able to enjoy all kinds of videos.

I don't like to use the wmv format because it does not allow me to correct contrast, focus, etc... if I use Windows media encoder I am forced to keep the original image, and Lost and Haunted (even Party of Five) have dark scenes. : (

Please, pretty please, install these codecs and reboot your PC. Then you'll be able to play any video file with an AVI extention.

Just create a folder for the software. Then extract (unzip) the 3 zip files to this folder.
After all files are unzipped to the folder, look for the "exe" file and run it. It isn't hard to use. :)

The only problem I've seen with this software is the AC3 (digital 5.1) sound that the bittorrent Lost episodes use for instance. It can't understand it. But I am not sure it is the software's fault. Any other audio format it is able to understand and work with.

That Haunted scene is incredible isn't it ? Foxy tied up to a bed... and those beautiful eyes of his like you said in an earlier post, that express everything he is feeling... OMG... LOL I know it is so annoying. For example I can't dowload anything from Lost-Media with Opera. I need to close everything down, including my firewall(which I have set to let everything Lost-Media through so I don't get it), just to get it work with IE. But it won't work at all with Opera. I bought the Haunted VCD set sold on Ebay for $40.00 PLUS $10 shipping. 2 other persons also bought from this same seller. Then 10 days later someone started auctioning Haunted DVDs (but HD NET wasn't airing the episodes YET, so the person DID NOT record now). I sent the person a message via Ebay asking how the DVD was made, to know the quality because the VCDs I bought on Ebay are terrible ! The seller was unable to give me a simple answer. He did NOT tell me how he recorded the episodes, he said he can't remember because it was A LONG TIME AGO ! That made me believe that in reality this seller NEVER recorded the episodes himself, he would KNOW Haunted aired only 3 years ago and then again several times on Fox, including last Jan 2005. So I think this person selling Haunted DVDs is someone that bought the VCDS and transferred the episodes to DVD and now is auctioning them on DVD. I could have done that too and fooled a lot of fans but that would be dishonest. To create a DVD from bad originals is very misleading, because when you think about DVDs you immediately think the quality will be pretty good. But if the seller made the DVDs from the VCDs sold on ebay, it CAN'T be good !

DON'T buy from that person, unless he explainds to you exactly how he made the DVDs. He didn't give me the correct answer so I run from him. This auction will end soon, but he will add another auction minutes later. He has been auctioning Haunted DVDs for ages. And the guy that sold me the VCDs, changed his nick and is selling on Ebay again with another ID. Beware !

I'm not sure what you mean. Were you not able to download from rapidshare's site or after saving them to your HD you were unable to play them ?
Let's figure out what is wrong. The video clips are in Xvid video format and MP3 audio. If you have MP3 and Xvid codecs installed on yor system they will play perfectly. Any Windows or Mac user can play these clips so there must be something missing in your configuartion. PM me if you want me to help you with other details : )

BTW, why don't US TV shows like to show men's legs ? In Brazil men are always without their shirts and pretty often you see their thighs (and even more). In soap opera, TV specials, etc... everywhere. Like for instance, a scene inside someone's house, people wear shorts and the type of clothe you wear when relaxed at home. I've watched about 6 hours of POF tapes this weekened and only in that very brief scene you get to see Foxy's legs ! Actually this is pretty common, I've noticed that both men and women (if not over weight) have a thinner face after they are 30, 33... I've seen it happen to all my friends and relatives, including myself. Right now I am 15 pounds over weitgh, yet my face is thinner than ever. I think it just comes a time when you lose that "round" baby face you had when you were younger. :)

I was watching a Lost scene Yesterday and there was this part showing Jack sideways, and boy... he is thin. Thinner than when the show started. Maybe Matt is working too much and eating less than he should ? Well, no one can blame him, after all they shoot about 12 grueling hours a day. Believe me, shooting on location under the sun, in tropical climate can drain anyone. But his chest and shoulders do look larger than 10 years ago.
Sadly Jack never wears shorts so we could see his thighs :p and those pants he has are too... large to show anything. Thank God every now and then he puts on a pair of jeans. :) Hey we should start a campaign with the writers about Foxy's thighs :) Lets show them how bad we are :p

Those episodes from season 5 (it was season 5 right ?) aired in Brazil in the end of 1999 and begining of 2000. My father had lung cancer and started treatment in 1999 and it was just too much being at the hospital day out and day in with my father, and at the same time watch Charlie going throurgh his treatment. It was the only show I liked watching in those days, so I did tune in, but I couldn't make myself tape it. :(

I guess men are like that anywhere huh ? :) It just caught my attention because I've noticed it is very rare for men to cross their legs (well, not in Brazil anyways...) but not all men sit with their legs wide open like that. I am not so sure it has to do with education though... (well I am not a man... so I am just guessing). Because I know plenty of very well manared men that do sit like that (of cousre not in front of the Queen of England!). Yet other ones, that lack any education, don't keep their legs as wide open as Foxy does. So I am starting a research this very minute. From now on I will keep an eye at every guy I see. I was watching a Lost scene Yesterday and there was this part showing Jack sideways, and boy... he is thin. Thinner than when the show started. Maybe Matt is working too much and eating less than he should ? Well, no one can blame him, after all they shoot about 12 grueling hours a day. Believe me, shooting on location under the sun, in tropical climate can drain anyone. But his chest and shoulders do look larger than 10 years ago.

Our dear Foxy loves 2 major Skin NO NOs... too much sun tanning and smoking. Both acelerate your skin aging. :( And the combination of the 2 only makes it more damaging. :confused: I wish he would at least use a strong sun block filter, but if he did, he wouldn't be as tanned.

I also love fair skin. I am caucasian but not as fair as Europeans. I wish I were. I love that baby pink color on their faces fair people tend to have in Europe. And Foxy had such a fair baby like skin 10 years ago.

I was really happy when Jack went to the caves because I thought he would not get as tanned as before since Foxy wold really be in a sound stage. And for a while Jack was kind of pale... but it seems that as soon as the shooting ended Foxy got all tanned again.

Although I live practically on the beach, and can't avoid the sun, I almost never get tanned. I quit going to the beach when the sun is high, more than 20 years ago and I too look younger than I am. My cousin on the contrary, goes to the beach EVERYDAY and smokes since she was 15. She looks 10 years older than her age. :o

But yeah I know smoking AND the sun. I don't think he does much purposeful tanning, I just think he does alot of outdoor stuff, swimming and running and climbing, etc and so gets tan.

And of course being your typical idiot guy(sorry :) ), who always think doing such things are beneath them and only for "vain pretty boys", I'm sure he doesn't do a thing to take care of his skin besides putting on a little sun screen at some point during the day IF he remembers to do it.

Seriously anyone remember how pretty Mel Gibson was in his younger years? Even if he wasn't "your type", he was handsome with the dark hair and big blue eyes and nice skin? Look what the smoking, drinking and too much sun did to him. By the time he was around 40 he was going totally down hill mainly because his skin was in terrible shape.

It isn't about being vain, it's just about taking care of your body's largest organ--which is your skin.

Whit, it will be a dream come true the day I find a Haunted DVD with quality.

Yesterday a "new" seller put up on Ebay Haunted DVDs again. I'm sure it was the guy that sold to me VERY bad quality VCDs once and for more than double what he is asking now for the 2 DVDs.

To be frank... you CAN'T fit 11 episodes in 2 DVDs without losing a lot of quality. ONLY factory DVDs (original DVDs) can have up to 5 hours in one DVD and still maintain quality. That's BECAUSE they are doubled layer DVDs which isn't the case of the normal DVDs we buy and create. The double layer disks can hold 9.4G instead of the normal 4.7G If you put 11 episodes on 2 normal DVDs like this Ebay seller is offering, the quality WILL BE TERRIBLE! The best way would be to put each episode on ONE DVD. That way you would manage to keep the same quality as the VHS tape. I said same quality as the VHS tape because the quality doesn't get any better just because it is a DVD. So you will have basically the same image you have on your VHS tape but it will ne safe on DVD which tends to last much more.

If you put 2 episodes in ONE DVD... the quality will go down almost 50% !
Anything beyond that is suicidal and pretty much not smart. It's like saving a photo with NO compression and another with a lot of compression. Which one looks better ? The one with no compression obviously.

And in the case of movies it is much worse because a moving picture presents much more pixel error. A photo can "disguise" the compression it received. A movie can't.

It's a pitty that the compression we use with our PC softwares or the stand alone DVD recorders is so BAD compared to the compression used professionally.

But it makes sense... do you all think the movie and DVD industry would LET anyone buy equipment that would allow them to produce professional DVDs? Of couse NOT! They most certainly made a deal with the manufactorers... that they COULD sell their DVD software, DVD recorders and DVD burners... as long as they did NOT allow the client to use a compression that would mimic the quality of the movie/DVD industry.

When I bought my PC Video capture card, my DVD Recorder and my DVD burner I was smiling from side to side... it didn't take me too long to realize we can't make good profesional quality DVDs with these amateur gadgets.

I don't think there is any place where you can watch the full episodes of Haunted all at once. I don't see any on sale on Ebay right now(except what ana mentioned and those have got to be in terrible condition to all fit onto 2 DVD's, not worth the price being at all).
