This is the reason why I haven't been on LF for the past few days, my friends have gotten me addicted to it! It's so good though ...

Does anyone else play? What level are you on? What guild do you belong to? What proffesions do you play as?

For me, the highest level I've got to is 7 (i only started playing this friday), with a Ranger/Elementalist called Adrieya Helmenstein. I'm from the Green Star Revoloution [GSR], and last time i checked there were ... 8 of us :p

I took a ranger to 20 a long time ago, last summer I think. The PvP in that game is absolutely amazing, the visuals are lush, and the world is cool, but the instanced questing/needing a group for everything quite honestly gets on my nerves. For that reason and a few others, I think World of Warcraft takes the cake in the MMO department, but that's not to say that Guild Wars isn't great. I haven't picked it up again to play Factions, so I'm considering picking it up again to give that a try. Might as well, since there's no subscription fee.

Ahh Guild Wars - I have that game but I quit quite a while back...I had a level 20 mesmer and no-one would go farming with me and I just got bored...

I bought this game in December and played it (all alone :p ) for a week or so, and it was pretty fun. But then I had to uninstall... and I still haven't gotten around to reinstalling. *cough*

I've been playing GW since the 2003 beta weekends started, when I say playing I mean that I played religiously untill about a year ago when I had to format my hard drive, I have yet to install because I loath downloading updates.

Right now I only have Prophecies, and have only been playing it for about a month or so. I have a level 9 or 10 Ranger/Elem, a level 9 Warrior/Ranger, and a level 13 Elem/Mesmer. The E/M is definitely my favorite. :D I've played most of her time alone, though I occasionally group up for missions. She's in Yaks Bend right now. Whenever one of mine finishes Prophecies, I'm gonna look into getting the next one.

Does anyone else dislike PvP? The Arena's are ok but playing the late-game PvP is like work.

I've not played any PvP yet. I might eventually, but I just love the storyline and all that jazz in PvE so I'm happy to stick there.

I like PvP, but i basic only play Random Arenas, since I suck and haven't got any further :P I do love scrimmages with friends though [i'm good at 1v1s :p ], and Guild Battles are fun :D

But PvE is definitely the best. I especially love the storyline in Prophecies, its just so ... :w00t: Ele/Mes is an awsome profession, Gabs, its excellent - my favourite too. I've recently been doing some Mist Form Farming (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbOMXr2ovRc) with her and ... :thud:

Sometimes on the main missions and some of the side quests I have trouble with, I'll party up with random people. (I usually play alone or with one of my friends.) I just got done playing... I spent over an hour with possibly the most annoying group ever assembled. :blank: I was kinda happy when we all died and had to split up. :rolleyes:

Depend on how much you drink/how strong the drink is, you do weird stuff - your screen goes funny, you do strange emotes and say stuff like 'i love you!', 'its spinning! and 'stop shouting!' :D

Sure thing! My highest level is my l20 Ele/Mes, and I think her name is... Shadows Raine. I'm in the Iron Mines of Moladune right now, and just can't get through there because I can never find a decent group. (If anyone wants to help a poor Ele/Mes out, that'd be appreciated. ;) )

Also got a 16 Mo/Ne, an 11 W/R, and a 10 R/E. Ever want to party up, just let me know. Always happy to have a decent party-mate. :D

I'm done with Prophecies, finally. :D Those last two missions were great.

I love how the Mursaat admit how afraid of my character they are. I always love it when rpg storylines stroke the ego of my character :D It's why I was such a huge Baldur's Gate 1&2 fan :)

I am now grinding (*sigh*) my reps while doing Gwen's questline with the charr. But I really really do want to do Factions and Nightfall first though.

I wonder if there's any endgames dungeon in the works for EotN like Fissure of Woe. I need something to do when all these storylines get completed :D

After playing the World of Warcraft for almost 2 years today I visited my local Game shop and asked for an Online game similar to WoW but less addictive. :giggle: After half an hour of looking I eventually bought Guild Wars it looks awesome currently installing it as I speak. :w00t:

Actually Guild Wars is a very very very different experience from WoW. I'll name just a few of them.

In Guild Wars:

1) There is no jumping

2) It uses hard culling to keep you from going off path

3) All PVP is arena style

4) When you go out on quests or to adventure/explore, you zone in like you would in an instance in WoW, and it's only you and your party. There is no persistent open world play

5) Instead of "instances" like Blackfathom Deeps, Blackrock Depths, Razorfen Downs, etc...you have "missions" where you zone in and have a certain number of highly directed and storyline intensive goals to accomplish, usually laced with cutscenes involving your character. They're pretty cool :)

6) It is nowhere near as addictive. I can walk away from the game for 5 months and then come back and have lots of fun and not worry about falling way behind everyone else. Oh and there's no need to join a massive raiding guild to get "purples" and all that. The game is very fun on your own, if not annoying because the henchmen can sometimes be pretty bad lol

That, however, is intentional. GW is not meant to be a "griding" game, but pure fun.

I must say, I haven't played for aaages, only once in the past week - and that wasn't for long. I haven't played seriously in about three weeks :shock: I need to get myself back in. It just seems a bit ... repetitive now :shifty: Still good though.

I bought Nightfall back in Feb, and Ali bought me Factions about a week ago, so now I have all 4. :D Right now, I think NF may be my favorite. I loooove my Paragon. But I haven't had much chance to get into Factions yet, so we shall see...
