I look up to her too. She's (seemingly) very religious (I'm not, but it's admirable to have such faith), and giving (hello mission trips! I dunno if I could do that), and she's been through a lot (depression, which so many people deal with and never get out of). She's seriously like, my hero.

:hug2: omg Alyssa i know what is to be depressed (i even had to take medication for a while) i pretty much had that since i was in 8th grade and just till last year i felt better so i had it for 8 years, my dad has it > is hereditary (sp) ... :) i didn't know Evie was a religious person! that's great! i'm not trying to preach or something but the moment i found (really found) God it changed my life and now i think i'm one of the happiest people on earth... i love everything that i have in my life and stopped thinking what i hadn't and that's what changed everything, i stopped thinking about my failed relationships, my horrible relation with my dad etc etc and just started appretiating what i do have.. :eek: i want to tell you so much! i hate knowing someone that nice and sweet going through such a hard thing! :hug2:

But, I've wanted to find God for a while now. I've tried many different religions to do so, but can't seem to find one that fits. Christianity, buddhism, and wicca, no workie. I just hope someday, it will hit me like it did you. That's wonderful for you. You're a lucky girl.

:) Katie don't worry, i think everyone has his own time to meet him...and for what is worth i have no religion!!! i'm a christian just because everyone who believes in Jesus is a christian, but i don't have an specific religion...here in LatinAmerica families are catholic in general and religion (not necessary God) is a big part of the family..so i grew up and always believed in God but i didn't have him in me in a real way..my mom never forced me to go to church or whatever so i grew up having my own believes..that works partially and i think that the only thing that matters is knowing him through the only way real, wich is reading the Bible..i do go to a christian church but just because i've learned so so much there (i actually have a notebook with every sunday preach, and also i took a class in my church) is necessary some guidance because is not easy, like even now i don't get a lot of the Bible, is important to have someone explaining you how things work etc, but not having someone telling you what and how to believe putting you a lot of dumb (made by humans) rules..

And I can't find any solace in reading the bible. I go to a Catholic school, and they taught that everything in the bible is myths. And that like burst the bubble that I grew up with. So it's hard for me to trust a source that I learned is all a lie. I know it's all symbolic though, but it's still hard. But I'm trying. With ever day. I really am. hopefully something will happen soon. Thanks for the advice and such, April. It's really sweet!

Katie, so did you get your license? I'm a HORRIBLE driver. Never caused an accident, but I'm just overall not a good driver. Plus, I was in a car accident a few years ago (I wasn't driving), and kind of bashed my face in on the headrest in front of me... sooooooo... yeah, I don't like driving too much. :(

It was thundering (hehe) and lightning at our house like... 20 min. ago.. and me and my sister were watching T.V. then all of a sudden a BIG HUGE flash cracked right outside.. A friggin lightning bolt was like 10 feet from us. It f-ed up our T.V and suround sound DVD player... the DVD player started to make funny noises.... me and Eryn were so scared, we shut of the T.V.... then we smelt burning plastic.... :worry: I was so scared our whole house was going to blow up... :eek:

lol congrats Katie!!! did you drove some place already? i don't know how you get a license there (U.S) but here is so so easy!!! hehe that's why i have a license but can't drive, i took the class and everything and actually i wasn't bad, but i guess i was kinda like Evie (i'm a danger to others!) the teacher was kinda young and hitting on me so everytime i was a screw up he laughed and said things like "ooooh you drive like the devil, hahaha" and i still got my license! the first (and only) time my mom lend me the car she ended up so mad at me she neeever lend me the car again...and that was it! 4 years later i haven't been behind the wheel again...

THey just bumped up the driving age here to 17, so I'm stuck without mine for like another two years. :banghead: My mom lets me drive around near my house- the first time i did it, i was looking out the rearview mirror and another car exactly like my mom's went by and i thought there was something screwed up with the mirrors--hows that for confusing on my first drive...I was "WTF how the hell is this happening?!?!" then i almost ran over a chipmunk. Ah school talk! I*ve been out of school for three weeks, give or take now. Reema i know exactly how you feel...when i was a Junior in Highschool i took 6 courses, all of them Honors and AP Courses..not to mention i had to prepare for the SAT's.. so my junior year pretty much sucked..but trust me it will all pay off in the end. Im currently on summer break right now but i go back at the end of August and for me its gonna be hell since im going to be a junior in college and i have to take all of the classes that pertain to my major which is PRE-MED so my life is definetly going to be chaotic !!!!! :eek:

LOL yep is like one of the more common fruits here, you get it everywhere and everytime..is called "guayaba" but i know is the same, :D actually i have like right now a bag full of them in the frigde, everytime my mom does the "fruit shopping" she buys guayabas/guavas...and i made juice yesterday but it wasn't very good.. o.O
although i gotta say that Lost got it all wrong..unless they are talking about some weird type of guava, guava seeds are nothing like slimy little bluish-black thingies. there're yellowish..this is a guava pic and the yellow dots it has in it..those are the seeds..anyhoo! enough guava talk! ;) i'm crazy, i know

:D great, i'm on my summer break and i've been doing absolutely nothing! makes me so happy knowing that i have no place to be, nothing to do... i've seen my friends and family and gone out but is so so great not having to study or work (i did both over this past semester)... besides is the first vacation in a couple of year that i don't work..so is even more sweet sleeping late etc..

Hello!!!! so i'm like jumping around.. i was talking to my mom and finally i made her understand that i want to travel a little before i have to get to the real world, so i'm already going to Paris after college to do a master or something like that.. but i was telling her how i'd love to go to other places too.. so long story short i'm going to the U.S this december!!!! :banana: i'm so happy! my dream is to travel and i don't care how, just travel! learning how other people lives, learning about everything you can't learn in a book... So i'm going! lol i'm deciding wheter i go to Miami (i know somebody there) or maybe NY or Boston>i really wanna go there but the winter has me thinking... i'm so happy! :banana:

Thanks everybody!!! i'm soooo excited! besides the good thing is that my mom is the kinda person who makes a plan and sticks to the plan...like i remember for a couple of years she got obsessed about being in Paris for the Millenium and next thing you know..we're there..she's always like that, so today after a looong conversation she was like..ok so you find a place to stay there and i take care of the rest.. so i have a friend who goes to the U.S every year and works (legally) and then comes back to study... i'm gonna ask him to help me... the best thing is that i already have the Visa (you know for latin people that's the hardest thing to get) and if God wants me to go..i'll go! i'm so happy! (is only for 6 weeks, but i wanna find a temp job, i just don't wanna be a burden for my mom) ... so you think is better if i go to Miami then?

That's a tough one. 6 weeks?... If I had to pick a city to go to if I was visiting the US, I'd pick NYC just because... well, it's an experience. Personally, though, it would be tough for me, I think, to move to NYC if I'd never been there before (have you been there?)... I think it's overwhelming. Boston (because I've lived there) is a nice place, and is a smaller city, and very historical, and a lot of cultural things are going on... BUT the weather is so weird and unpredictable. I've never been to Miami, so I don't know... I would think it would be really nice there.

Well, I was looking for apartments about a month ago, and then stopped because I didn't have the job yet. I mean, there's a lot out there... it's just expensive. Especially because I'm just trying to get my own little studio. I don't want it to be a dump, but I don't want to pay so much. I think I'm going to Boston this Wednesday or Friday with my mom. We've got to see if a realtor can take us around to look at some places. I'll let you know how it goes and I'll tell you about what you can get for different price ranges. We actually went and put a deposit down on a bed today. The salesman was CRAZY. It was hysterical. He was making me lay down on a million mattresses, and I usually sleep on my back so I was laying there on my back, and he was like, "Is that how you sleep? Like Frankenstein?" LOL. I'll probably also need to buy a little couch thingy and a small table and chairs. I have a desk here that I'll bring. God, I hope I can get the internet. Seriously... what will I do if I don't have internet hookup? I'll DIE! :eek:
