I just can't believe I'm starting the thread for SURVIVOR. Oh well, any SURVIVOR fans out there?

What do you think of the current season?

Yep....I am a die-hard SURVIVOR fan and have been watching since day one (anyone remember naked-boy Richard and his evil scheming???).

I used to get pretty excited about SURVIVOR and even had an office pool going to see who could pick the winner....but now, post-LOST, I have to say that SURVIVOR pales in comparison. ;)

This season....is pretty good so far. MUCH better than the last one....I dunno, I just couldn't get into it last time, the whole "women versus men" strategy was really annoying and I was glad to see the guy (forgetting his name) fight back and win against the annoying women. Not my favorite season at all....probably my favorite would be the one with Rupert....love that guy!!!

Yeah....that poor tribe--ULONG--needs a mercy merge ASAP!!!

I always side with the underdog, and I was glad to see the other tribe being forced to go to tribal last week....and BTW I thought it was cruel and WRONG that they were eating in front of ULONG. Shame on you Mark Burnett....

I've watched almost every season of Survivor! I loved Rupert too lunakasha, he was my favorite, and yes, I do remember Richard Hatch. From the very first day of the first season I said he was going to win, but when he returned for Survivor All Stars I was so disgusted at what he did to Sue.

I almost danced for joy tonight when James was voted off. Man I hated that guy, and his hick accent drove me INSANE! He should have been voted off at least three episodes ago but instead they voted off my favorite character this season, Angie. :rant: Tats was SO awesome (I nicknamed her that because I couldn't remember her name :p )! I almost cried when those idiots decided that it would be a good idea to vote her off. What were they thinking?! And Stephanie, that backstabbing :censored: ! {Okay mini rant over for now}

Merging would be such a good thing for Ulong. It's kinda really pathetic that they haven't won a single immunity challenge. I feel sorry for them.

ive watched every season of survivor, too. i thought last wednesdays episode was pretty cool, had a bunch of twists; both tribes going to tribal counsil, then with them sitting in on the other tribal counsil, then with them giving someone immunity... it was a good episode. i was pretty disappointed when they voted off angie, i liked her. but i still like steph anyways, shes my favorite on ulong. i didnt have a favorite on koror until last week when gregg came out of nowhere with his strategy, i hope it works for him. and i definately think the two tribes should merge... only 3 people on a tribe is kinda sad. maybe theyll merge next week.

Stephanie's, like, my favorite. She got on the wrong tribe, though. I feel SOO bad for Ulong, but I'm a major Koror cheerer, lol. It made me laugh when they won the immunity AGAIN, because there's NEVER been a 3 person tribe before. Let's merge already and get it over with.

Also happy to see James go. At the beginning of the episode I actually thought "This guys had too much screen time, he needs to go." And voila, off he goes. That voice was definitely annoying.

Oddly enough, though, the majority of my TV shows(not Lost, though) I start out hating and not watching, then giving in and becoming obsessed.thats true with me, too. altho more with lost and less with survivor, i started watching survivor halfway through season 1 and i've seen every season since. with lost, i didnt start watching right off because the promos were very lame (i'm not even kidding, you know they were). i thought this show would be dumb and unoriginal - "people get stranded on a deserted island, who cares? it's just another survivor except they have a script." boy, was i wrong. i'm so glad i started watching it, i've seen every episode and became obsessed...

so yeah, back to survivor... who do you think will be the next to go?

Okay - this is just getting more and more pathetic. What are they trying to do with this season? I just don't get why they're letting the ULONG tribe drag on like this. A tribe of TWO vs. EIGHT - COME ON!!! It's just past the ridiculous stage now.

I feel so bad for Ulong, and there are three or four annoying idiots on the other tribe that I would love to see voted out....in fact, I am pretty sure some of the Koror members would agree, it is time to clean house!!! ;)

I'm also a Survivor freak! lol I came in on Outback, but I did watch the DVD version of the first season. And, yes, I did get the *wonderful* opportunity of seeing Richard's butt. *cringes*
I do feel sorry for Ulong, but they'll merge next week. The merge always happens when there's 9 or 10 people left. They wouldn't let a tribe get down to one person. I didn't really like last season, but I thought it was kind of ironic. The guy everyone wanted out in the first episode(!) won. And the woman who everyone wanted out before and after the merge came in second. Oh, didja hear? Jeff's dating Julie now! :) And Rob and Amber are on the Amazing Race. I'm so voting for them! But the gay guys completely hate them! I can understand wanting to beat them - cause they're such a strong team - and not understanding why they're in the race - cause they're already won a million+ dollars. But hating them?! Dude, lighten up...

I feel like Ulong is CURSED and if they don't merge soon, Stephanie is history (she almost went last week). Then again, if they merge, Koror is gonna pick off Stephanie and BJ right away unless they can suck up and convince Koror to get rid of one of their own....maybe Karen or Katie??? ;) (ANNOYING!!!!)

Well, they have to merge next week. Ulong can't have another tribal council. Stephanie would have to vote for Bobby John, and Bobby John would have to vote for Staphanie. Their votes would cancel each other out.

OK.....mind if I vent for a minute???

I just watched the Ulong tribe seemingly come to an end after LOSING two more competitions, which was painful as usual. I am getting nauseated by the Koror tribe (except for Koby, and he is apparently getting fed up with them too!!!).

What I don't understand is: WHY no merge??? They actually made BJ and Steph compete against each other to stay in the game....and then, as a reward for staying, they send her back to camp alone???!!!! I am sorry, but that is just not right. They should have sent her over to Koror right after tribal and made the merge official.

The previews for next week don't look promising either....poor Steph. :(

My thoughts exactally! IMO Bobby John is gone about 3 epi's too late... he was a freaking curse to that tribe!!! I have wanted so bad to knock on his head and see if there is actually a brain in it.

Hey!!! I luv Survivor and when I saw this thread, I had to look at it...

I cannot beleive they made stephanie go back by her lonesome! Thats so mean! I hope Steph wins, cuz she totally deserves it! Tom's secret alliance with Steph may or maynot work, but whatever happens, EVERYONE will soon want to get rid of Tom because he is so much more stronger than the rest of them! The only ones that can really compete are Steph, Ian, and Gregg so as soon as Tom loses individual immunity (Assuming they merge soon) he will most likely be on the chopping block because of his supirior strengh, am I making sence?

Actually, back in the first ep Steph, Tom, and Ian made an alliance, and apparently Katie's in it too. I think it'd actually be smart if they merge for Steph to go along with that, because I'm sure she could kick some major butt if they all made it to the final four.

I'm sooo glad Steph is the last Ulong member left, personally it feels like she represents them. I really hope she wins.

Yeah. I've liked her for a long time, and I was so scared at the individual immunity!

But there are pros and cons to being alone.
Pros-
She doesn't have to worry about taking care of anyone else. She only has to have enough food/water or anything else for herself. No one else to be using the resources. She doesn't have to worry about offending people around camp or how she doesn't like other peoples' habits. She can do whatever she wants without being yelled at by anyone. And she has the whole camp to herself. She can finally have some peace and quiet.
Cons-
She has to do all the work by herself. No one to help her keep the fire going or get the water/tree mail or push the outrigger into the water(They had enough trouble with two people. Imagine how hard that boat's gonna be with one!). She's completely alone - no one to talk to or be near for support(The crew isn't allowed to talk to the castaways). She has to do the whole immunity challenge on her own. If it's a relay race like last time(with them swimming through the water to get the puzzle pieces), she has to do every lap on her own.

That's all I can think of. Any more?

Great post.. but remember that if it is tribe vs tribe... there will only be one person against her as well... which in all likelyhood will be Tom :(

I just don't think it's fair that they didn't merge. Stephanie and EVEN BJ deserve to be given a CHANCE - more so than those lazy girls over at Koror. By not merging, those girls are getting by not doing any work in camp and not doing any challenges. That's not surviving - that's getting lucky because the producers wanted to do something different.

I am SO rooting for Steph - and I hope she makes it all the way. I think they should give Stephanie special immunity (at least for one episode) just for being a last one in her tribe.

lol I usually like the way gay guys act except when they act really, really feminine. That just gets annoying to me...but I like Rob/Amber. And I can't understand why Lynn and Alex hate them so much. Janu would definitely be easy to vote off. I have a feeling they're gonna start voting off the real threats, aka the Tom/Ian/Katie/Steph/Jen/Gregg alliance. Tom's gang might plan to vote Jen/Gregg off, since they're getting really close, but if they can't do that, then theres always Janu, or even Caryn to vote off.

Totally agree about Amber not really deserving to win, but in a different way, she did. If I remember right, she said she PURPOSELY let Rob take all the blame for the plotting so that it made it look like she was in the background. But he's actually admitted she came up with quite a bit of their plans, they just edited it to make it look like he was the one to blame all of the time. I still think Rob deserved it more, but I don't like him that much, so I don't really mind, lol.

There haven't been major strategy plays in this season yet, but now that they've merged hopefully we'll see some.

i was so nervous that steph was gonna get voted out, i was SO glad janu quit... she was weird. i said it once and i'll say it again, i hate all the new twists survivor is randomly throwing in this season. lame.

next week looks good tho, i hope steph turns it around and gets the majority vote. i'm hoping she wins the million, she's the best player on the show. altho if she doesnt get an all female alliance i'm thinking its because jenn doesnt want to leave her alliance (or whatever she has going on with gregg). i think the all female alliance would be great because, to be honest, i don't like any of the guys left. i liked gregg for a little cuz it seemed like he had the whole alliance thing all figured out, but then he goes and votes out coby, which went against his so-called "alliance", so i dont like him anymore. he's just kinda blah anyway. tom gets on my nerves cuz he's all controlling (nice guy, but seems full of himself). and ians annoying cuz he's toms sidekick, altho outside of the game he seems like he'd be pretty cool. as for the girls, i dont like jenn or katie either, caryns ok tho. i just want stephenie to win.

Me too. My heart was pounding so fast at the tribal council. Steph was crying, and Tom looked all uncomfortable. I was like "Don't you dare vote her out! Don't you dare!" I thought it was a lost cause till Janu quit. But now I like her cause she was willing to do that for Steph.
I really hope Steph brings it next week. Tom and Ian had a "rock-solid" alliance with her from the first day, and they just go and get rid of her like that? I never really liked Tom cause he seemed...over confident, to put it politely. Ian just fell off my list of winners last night. I hope Steph's able to do the all-girl alliance and get Jen out fast after the guys so she can't screw it up.

I really hope Steph brings it next week. Tom and Ian had a "rock-solid" alliance with her from the first day, and they just go and get rid of her like that? I never really liked Tom cause he seemed...over confident, to put it politely. Ian just fell off my list of winners last night. I hope Steph's able to do the all-girl alliance and get Jen out fast after the guys so she can't screw it up.

I am not surprised at all about Tom and Ian....I never liked either of them, and especially not after this week. I HOPE Steph can make an alliance with someone, but I honestly don't see it happening. WOW!!! I finally got to watch this weeks epi.... where to begin...

the whole show I wanted nothing more than to choke Janu... but after tribal council she climbed about 165146516515616516 rungs on my ladder!!!

As far as Tom and Ian, they can just go piss up a flagpole! I mean we will never know if they were gonna go through with voting for Steph, but it was pretty hard to deny it all, and then having Ian lie to her face... sheesh, man.... strap a pair on and tell the truth for hell's sakes...

I couldn't believe Janu quit! I never liked her... she was a little odd. It was almost like she sacrificed herself to save Steph... kind of noble on her part.

I have to disagree with a lot of you. I liked Stephanie the entire time she was on the Ulong tribe, and hoped that she and Bobby John would merge with Koror and go far in the game. After she meged though, my opinion of Stephanie changed. Everyone is saying how she deserves to win, but I don't see it. The only challenge she has won so far was the fire challenge against Bobby John, and anyone with half a brain would have beaten him (don't get me wrong, he was very cute, but dumb as dirt). She managed to outlast all of Ulong, but she has not outwitted or outplayed Koror at all.
Meanwhile, Tom has been the anchor of Koror, helping them to win every challenge he's been a part of, mostly carrying them on his back. He has also established a few strong alliances, while keeping other members of his tribe at bay with strategic manipulation. Not to mention how strong he's been at supplying the tribe with food.

True. Tom has been a good supplier, but he's getting - and has been - cocky. I realize that he's good at challenges, but does he have to flaunt it? During every challenge, he's like "I'm gonna win this challenge, and I know it. None of you will ever beat me." It just really gets on my nerves. And the way he betrayed Steph? I would've been just as angry with him if it were Katie or Ian cause he had the same alliance with them that he had with Steph. From day one. And then he and Ian lie to her face about it and won't even be straight with her at tribal council when she really couldn't do anything.
And Steph is a trooper. I mean, she's lasted through, what, ten tribal councils? She's proved that she can win almost any challenge, but it's mostly been the rest of her tribe that drags her down. Did you see the last reward challenge? They all had to swim to and from with the poles, and she was always upfront, just waiting for everyone else to catch up. And Steph's just about to start working Koror. For the past six days, she's been trying to get her bearings. Make sure she knows where she is in the tribe and what the alliances are before she goes into her strategy mode.

I agree with bad robot in the sense that, yes, Tom is a VERY strong player and deserves to win based on performance alone. BUT, as Nikiwi said, his arrogance is annoying as hell, and it may ultimately be his downfall. Now that they have merged, the others would have to be complete idiots (and many of them are IMO) to keep him in the game. He is THE biggest threat, and if he ever loses an immunity challenge, they need to get rid of him if they want a shot at the million bucks.

I am also pissed that he betrayed Steph, but I was not at all surprised. He and his Koror allies have become tight, and I could not see him sacrificing one of them for Steph. I am hoping that Steph will start using her head and figure out how to turn the tables on Tom and Ian....if she can do that, then she REALLY does deserve to win, because that is what Survivor is all about. The betrayal of Steph is what sent me over the edge with Tom... He is by far the best survivor out there... he get the food, and is the most dominate during the challenges! But to totally sell out your "word" and "honor" on a whim like that is just so tasteless!

If he promised Steph, Ian, and Katey the first two days he should stick to that and then when they are the final 4 then go balls out and every man for himself.

If he sells out short of that I will lose all respect for him.. and he will move onto the Brian (won a previous Survivor, he was a car sellsman) level of Survivor players imo.

I LOVE SURVIVOR! I first saw it when it was in the ending episodes of AMAZON...and liked it! I'd thought before hand that it would stink, but when i saw it....it changed everything.

Then, one thursday in the following september, I thought to myself that I would turn on the TV, and see what was on CBS. It was around 7:50 PM. And to my INCREDIBLE luck, Survivor: Pearl Islands was premeiring that night!

I loved Rupert, the second he stole the shoes! He was actually acting LIKE A PIRATE. I wanted him to win after that SO FRICKEN BADLY! I was a HUGE fan of whatever tribe he was in(Drake I think), and all of those who were in his "POSSE." Poor Rupert...I hated how he was teased for his skirt. He was in my point... the ULTIMATE SURVIVOR!!. I think most of us can agree that RUPERT is/was one of, if not the BEST, Survivor there was!(Take Hatch out of the Equation).*Smacks hatch* Who couldn't love him! I voted for him to get the second million dollars at the end of ALL STARS. I was SO happy for him...he seriously deserved it.

I loved Rob and Amber together...and still do! Rob's proposal was AMAZING! One of the best moments of survivor tv! I can remember it at plain as ever! I am rooting for them now, even, in the Amazing Race. I really hope they win. I get such a kick out of what Rob does to all of the other teams. He's basically superimposed the stratagies of Survivor into the Amazing Race.

Just a question about what you think, was last season a more boring one? I really didn't like Vanuatu myself...it just didn't have the certain "SURVIVORNESS" that the other season's had. Probably my most hated moment of all was when the women actually one a coffee maker. If anybody didn't notice...they had their own outlet in a tree stump to plug it in. That REALLY pissed be off. In the end, I was glad Chris one though.

Now about this season...Survivor Palau. I was origannally rooting for Bobby John...with out any particular reason...I just really liked him. Now, I am rooting for Steph...she was my backup. I want he to SHOVE IT IN EVERY ONE"S FACE how strong she really is. I really don't like Tom, so I don't mind! But if Steph is voted out, my last choice is Ian. After that I don't know where I will go. I dislike all of the other women, because they just piss me off for being SO LAZY and pissy all the time. BUt we shall see how it all turns out.

LMAO....I have been a diehard SURVIVOR fan since the very first episode.....and I hated Richard almost instantly--kept yelling at the TV when the idiots refused to vote him out!!! He was an arrogant a****** but he fooled them all. So maybe he deserved to win for his manipulative talents, but I still despise him. ;)

Like you, I became a Rupert fan as soon as he stole the shoes....yep, he took the pirate theme VERY seriously....that was one of my favorite SURVIVOR seasons so far, except for the fact that he didn't win LOL. But I was thrilled that he won it from the fans!!! :D

I liked Bobby John too....I felt so bad for Ulong losing all the time, I kept rooting for them and hoping they would at least win ONE freaking challenge! And I loathe Koror....the cocky men and the lazy, whiny women....UGH!!!

Survivor is actually better at making couples than the Bachelor! The Bachelor/Bachelorette only had one sucessful couple. Survivor's had three! There's Rob and Amber. Jenna - from Amazon - and Ethan - from Africa. And then Julie - from Vanuatu - and Jeff!!!

For me it was the fact that the women were REALLY annoying, most of them.....I never felt much of a connection with them. I liked Katie a little - we do have to remember that they edit people to make us like them/hate them on purpose. YYAAAYYYY!!!!! I'm soo psyched! That would be soo awesome to live in Mayan ruins. When the Senior class went on their trip last year, they went to the Carribean and got to see the ruins. They didn't get to go near them or anything cause they're all historical.

My worst fear would be some sort of "tropical poison ivy"! Pretty much every summer of my life I've gotten it. Once when I was younger someone burned it and I inhaled the fumes! I had poison ivy in my ears, eyes, nose and throat...they had to put me on steroids and I almost had to go to the hospital and get a feeding tube put in!

My mom has a huge yard so I work outside with her a lot, but I always wear long sleeves because of the poison ivy, and the sun, which is killer on my fair skin. Even though I wear long sleeve flannel, I still manage to get it!

That, and I hate coconut. I wonder what they'll eat for their "major food group" in Guatemala.

I liked Bobby Jon and Steph A LOT!!!!!! But I want Rupert back again! BRING BACK MY RUPERT!!! I made a Rupert Banner and Avi for the site... They were kind of crappy... used them for a few days and then dropped em'. Rupert is, and forever will be my favorite Survivor. I loved him from the moment he Pirated those shoes...and was with him for winning all the way until he was voted out! Does anyone else want to see Rupert Back?

I think they should have a season where America gets to pick the cast...out of old Cast members. That would be a good season! I know I would pick Rupert, Johnny Fairplay, and Rob and Amber... It's be funny to see the couple back up! AND PLAYING AGAINST EACH OTHER! Also...Rich...though i dislike him a lot.

Stephanie actually gives Rupert a run for the money on my favorite Survivor player ever. My other favorite was Elisabeth from Outback (now on the View). I really liked Rupert and was bummed both times he got the boot. But thank goodness CBS did the America Vote so Rupert got his million!

I think you should put back up the Rupert banner after Season 2 starts Nsmith!

I don't know about putting Rob and Amber in again....they already did two seasons each...and don't forget they came in second in Amazing Race! But I would love to see Johnny Fairplay again!

I actually saw a picture of Colby in the Red Eye movie.....looking all tough! The article I read about it in TV Guide says this is a speaking role, not just a background character. I really hope he can make it in acting. I always liked him!

OMFG!! I just saw my second PREVIEW!! HUGE FRIGGING NEWS! "Two of the most popular survivors ever will be joinung the castaways" I just saw Probst say it himself!!! They showed the shadows of them...it was a man and a women...but I don't know who! HOLY CRAP! And they have like a 9 mile hike into camp! HOLY CRAP! When I heard about who else was coming on, I jumped up from my chair almost knocking it back on my dog, and yelled "Son of a BITCH" I AM SO EXCITED!! Oh man!! Oh man!! I hope Rupert comes back!!
