Although Iwas in love with Scrubs for the first 2 seasons, it's losing it's "Midas touch"...We're up to season 4 in Australia and it's not making me laugh. They put it on so late and I just don't get excited as much anymore. Nothing beats the first couple of seasons

Is Scrubs getting renewed for next season? I heard from Ausiello that it's almost certain going to be renewed...
I think the only reason Scrubs' rating has been low is because it's competing against AI.

I absolutely love this show, have been watching it straight for about 3 weeks now to try and catch up. I'm currently on Season 4 and still hooked.
However, I just read this about Zach Braff, and it looks like this next season might be the last:
"Zach Braff loves making movies so much, he's going to quit his role in "Scrubs" to concentrate on his film career.
Braff, who plays Dr. John "JD" Dorian in the TV comedy, realized his future lies on the big screen after the success of "Garden State," which he wrote, directed and starred in.
He tells Premiere magazine, "My guess is that this will be my last season (on 'Scrubs').
"Whether or not they continue without me, I don't know.
"I have had this amazing run on the show and I love it and I'm so grateful, but I want to make movies full time."

BLOODY AUSTRALIAN TELEVISION NETWORKS! We never get anything and when we do it's on a crap late night slot! Scrubs is without doubt the second best comedy on TV! (simpsons comes first...sorry!) And it is on once a week at 11:30pm! HOW CRAP IS THAT??? Very I say! Lucky for me I'm never asleep at that hour anyway so I can watch it but I fear late night ratings may soon cause it to be cut from the program altogether! NOOOO!!!! It's a legend show! Witty, original and fun! :D

How many season are there? I have all 5 seasons on my computer,
but I heard there would be another one (the last one) but when
does that start????
It has to be a season 6, according to the ending in nr.5!
The absolut ending in season 5;
"I'm pregnant"
JD is going to be a father???

i love scrubs, i hated it when it first aired, then i started watching it on abc1 so i downloaded every episode!
i is a great mix of comedy and serious issues, i love all the "different" episodes, like "my occurence" and "my screw up" where the events run differently to how it seems, and stuff like "my life in four cameras". in season 6 there's going to be a completely musical episode and it's sure to be great!
i love all the characters for different reasons, JD and Turk are just overall hilarious, cox cause of his raving speeches, jordan for her sincere kind of sarcasm (if that makes sense) The Todd is just so stupid and twised it's great

You see, Bob, the pain-in-the-ass-chief-of-medicine-that-everybody-hates kept running out in front of the tortoise and taunting him, but right at the end... oh, gosh I'm sure you remember what happened Bob, the tortoise bit clean through the Chief of Medicine's calf muscle, dragged him to the ground, where he and all the other turtles devoured him alive right there on the racetrack. a fantastic new episode! Definitely an improvement for season 6.
(gotta go to work now, will elaborate later...)
Edit: Alright, time to update.
So, so far i believe S6 has lacked in the comedy side of things compared with the earlier seasons. So it was good to see the writers finally embrace that and attempt a more serious episode - and it worked, since it was truely different from any plot they have attempted before. Nurse Roberts is the first central character to be removed from the show (even though Aloma Wright was never top billed).

Scrubs and Lost are two shows that I can watch endlessly on dvd. Gotta love dvd marathons. I haven't been able to catch many of this year's episodes, sadly...
According to Zach Braff's blog on Myspace, they're all signed on for season 7, NBC just has to renew the show. And apparently ABC actually owns the rights to the show, so if NBC doesn't pick up the 7th season, ABC will.

This has got to be one of the biggest declines in quality in a show I've ever seen. How do you go from basically the funniest show currently on TV to absolute CRAP?
It's like you have to watch three episodes to find even ONE slightly amusing scene. They ruined Cox's character; the whole thing has turned into a cheesy nightmare. Seasons 1-4 were fantastic, 5 was okay, but 6? CRINGE.
Thoughts?

the janitor is probably my favorite character from any television show! he definitely rocks.:p
He's one of mine!!
Dr. Cox is definitely the best. (I am a bit attracted to him also. :shifty:) He says the things I am thinking, all the time.
He's my fav too! He minds me of House, but is more nicer to his colleages when they need him
Carla saying goodbye to Laverne was heart-breaking. I cried.
That epi was so sad!!!

Thoughts?
Methinks, scrubs is about JD's character. JD is growing and realistically, after having a child, he has matured significantly. I consider the development in the series a natural, accurate progression to the point where we are at S7.
Although I am a bit disappoint that the writer's strike has all but ruined the series finale of Scrubs. I hope we will get the final episodes come the dvd release.

Post-Strike News for Scrubs
Scrubs went on hiatus on December 6, 2007 after airing only 6 episodes from it's final season.
Four pre-strike episodes remain and will begin airing on April 10, 2008.
The future of the series, including the production of the series final is unclear.
As the WGA Writer's Strike concluded on February 12, 2008, up to four additional episodes may be shot to complete the seventh season. It is unclear whether they will air on NBC or go straight to DVD.
Let's hope we get those final four episodes to at least wrap up the entire series arc.

Bumps this thread.
Seems season 8 is a go ahead... its just a little unclear as to which network it will air on:
From Wikipedia:
McGinley has confirmed that he has been told to report back to work March 24, 2008 to begin production for another season.[36] McGinley was also quoted as saying that the show's long-rumored move from NBC to ABC is a done deal.[37] According to McGinley, Scrubs will air on ABC during the 2008-2009 TV season. [38]
On March 19, 2008, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide reported that although nothing is "official," the Scrubs cast will be reporting back to work next Wednesday for work on an "unofficial" season as of yet. [39] Due to legalities of the contract between ABC Studios and NBC, until NBC releases a press statement releasing rights to Scrubs, nothing is official between the Scrubs production crew and ABC Studios.
On April 2, 2008, NBC announced their fall schedule, which did not include an eighth season of Scrubs. [40] This led to more speculation that the show could indeed be making the switch to ABC. NBC President Ben Silverman later informed reporters, "I don't know where Scrubs is going. It's finished its run on NBC, though."
On April 4, 2008, Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online reported that following the completion of the 12 episodes owed to NBC for season seven, production will immediately commence on 16 all-new episodes for season eight. These episodes will almost certainly air on ABC for the 2008-09 season.[41]
Good to see the new episodes on tv now. The most recent one, My Manhood was quite enjoyable. And the upcoming ones sound interesting too.
Even better that Season 7 will get a conclusion, with 12 new episodes after the 4 remaining (of which 2 are still to air, as of today).
Then we have 16 more episodes to look forward to (either next year, or on a future dvd release).

The new episodes have been pretty funny. I like them. I love how Turk learned Spanish just for Carla for their anniversery. I thought it was really sweet. Plus I loved their little conversation at the end where they were making fun of the others in Spanish . :D

Bob Kelso's departure was great also.
Although I am interested to see how his character remains around a Sacred Heart after his retirement.

I loved when Kelso said "sometimes I look at this building and see all the faces of people I've killed" then paused, and turned to the intern and said "BOOGITY-BOO!" :rotflol:

BOOGITY BOO. That was great.
I'm glad that Scrubs will continue past this strike affected season. I am really liking the new post strike episodes. So far they have all, for the most part, been absolutely fantastic. This past week's one has been one of my favourites since the S6 finale.
Last season's finale totally built up the future (and at that point concluding point of the series) of JD and Elliot's relationship. Then the series seemed to fall through with the strike. But now, this last ep, "My Waste Of Time" touched on the subject for the first time in 10 episodes. The episode might not have been as funny as others, but it sure did have lots of positive and entertaining character development!
Next week's looks like a lighter fantastical touch.
Does anyone know what's planned after May 8th? I know there's one more scheduled broadcast, but I'm not sure on the episode, or how they plan to conclude the broadcasted episodes prior to the unclear new season (on another network).

Did anyone else catch smokie inside of Jacob's cabin on the season finale of Scrubs?

A rumor for some time now (and expected to be true), but now confirmed by Zach Braff:
Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.
Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine.
Can't wait for more Scrubs come the end of this year!
