Am I the only one who ships Jack/Charlie? I just wanted to see if anyone else ships them. Jack is always super concerned about Charlie and they have had some great moments together...like when Jack was hugging Charlie after he was found. Anyways, who else here agrees with me that this ship could work? BTW, it's slash, if you hadn't guessed by now.

hehe... that's pretty funny. I'd really much prefer Jack to be with Kate, and Charlie to be with Claire... but if those relationships don't work out... then yeah, I think Jack and Charlie would be cute as a slash pairing. Go Chack!!! LOL! :D

Rain, I'm not really into the slash stuff either. I was just going along with the first post in thinking that if Jack was going to be with a guy in slash fiction (don't worry... it won't happen... he will be with Kate ;)) I think he'd be cute with Charlie. That's all. I think we all know this isn't going to happen on the show.

I think you've already made your point that you don't want anyone with Jack nor do you like slash so why are you posting in this thread?

About Jack and Charlie:

On a TV Guide channel interview a few months ago, Dom did make a clever little comment that went something like...
"The characters you see in episode one keep changing in episodes four, five, six, seven.... all the way up to season nine, where I get to marry Matthew Fox's character, Jack." (followed by a quick strum of the guitar)

And to those who don't like slash, if you don't like it, then you don't have to look at these threads...I'd rather you not looking at it than bashing the ship, because there are fans who like this ship. And I can perfectly well see Charlie or Jack being gay, but then again that's just me.

And I hate it when people say "I don't mind gay people, but I hate slash...that's just sick!" because truth be told, slash basically is pairings of male/male and female/female ships...it's like the same thing as "gay people", so it's just another way of bashing the gay community.

i agree with islandparadise, in a way bashing slash is sorta bashing gay people. i am all for any relashonship. GSA, GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE. i wouldn't mind jarlie, i just think they have other relashonships going on right now. Also if you don't like the pairing just say that, or don't post at all. People shouldn't put down other's opinions, it is their opinion so if some one thinks jarlie is cool thats fine, and if someone doesn't thats fine to. i would just ask why you were posting here anyway

Canon is anything related to the show. Like for example, Shannon and Sayid are a canon pairing (because they are actually together oh the show). Fanon is something outside the show yet is still related to it (like slash pairings).

Something like that (not a very good definition really :/ ).

I think that's what I hate most about those kinds of people. They might be OK with it but not like to read or observe slash pairings, and that's fine. But I can't stand when they start bashing others for liking slash or keep posting in the threads when they already made their point. I don't even know why they posted in the first place, but oh well.

I don't mind Jarlie either but I guess I'm still a Joone fan. Jarlie would be up there though! :)

Yeah, canon is something that has happened or will most likely happen on the show and fanon is something that the fans like and made up but probably won't happen on a show.

I love Joone, and Sawyid might just be the best/hottest slash pairing since Spangel (Spike/Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series), but Jarlie is so sweet! :cloud9: I can deffinitely see it happening. Once I get over my current Churley :lotsalove (Charlie/Hurley) obsession I'll most likely start reading on this pairing. :)

Charlie is fairly young and not too sure about the direction of his life right now. He's been hurt and is in desperate need of guidance. A mentor if you will.
Jack is a good candidate for that. He's a mature adult who has gotten through his own problems and has proven himself capable and reasonable. His own problems with his father can inspire him to help someone else find the guidance he missed out on.
The two of them in a relationship? Well, I won't deny that's a damn sexy thought. But I seriously can't see Jack as anything but straight. I've tried. I wrote a fanfic that started out with him dreaming about spanking Sawyer (damn kinky) but common sense took over and the story ended with him bonding with Charlie.
Charlie? I can see him as bi, and I can see him having a crush on Jack. But I honestly can't see Jack feeling the same way.
This is not to say that I have any objection to seeing the two of them together in a fanfic! :D

Not really sure, but for me... I ship Jarlie just because I think Jack and Charlie would be cute together. Love the scene with them sitting together after the cave-in, when Jack tells Hurley that Charlie has the flu, and hides the drug secret. Also, in ATBCHDI when Jack saves Charlie and cradles him in his arms, and then later in that eppy when Jack's checking Charlie's neck and talking to him. Those two scenes made me a Jarlie shipper.

Thanks guys. You know... the other day I found myself watching my vid over and over again. I think I watched it about five times in a row... not even kidding. It almost made me cry. I don't know... Jarlie kind of started out as a joke for me... it was the first slash couple I considered following, and I didn't take it too seriously at first... but NOW... I consider them a "real" ship. I LOVE JARLIE! I just think they're so adorable together, and they've already got the foundation for a great friendship, so I figure... why not be boyfriends? LOL. :D
