Haha I always used to watch reruns. It's sad I never followed it week-by-week/season-by-season. I've missed so many episodes.

I adored Xena's horse :rotflol: What was his (her?) name?

I did love it though :eek: I plan to buy the DVDs eventually, after I finish my X-Files collection.

Edit: Argo! That was the horse. And it was a she, officially, even though she was called a "he" in a few episodes. Hence confusion. (Yay for google!)

I've now got all the DVDs- all 6 season sets, the 10th anniversary collection, and the Series Finale directors cut. Mildly obsessed. :rolleyes: But hey, it's my all time favorite show; I don't think anything will ever surpass it.

As we can see from my sig/av, I'm a Gabrielle and Ares shipper. There's my all-time OTP right there. :D

I shipped both Ares/Gabrielle AND Ares/Xena because, well, basically I was a big ol' Ares fangirl and wanted to see him with somebody! ;) "The Quill Is Mightier" is one of my all time favs (though the raging shipper in me would've liked a more mushy, romantic -- and "wasn't ever gonna happen" ;) -- parting between Gabby and the Bad Boy in Black Leather). :p

Yes, I have a Bad Boy fixation. *looks at avi* I've just had to learn to accept that about myself. :boogie:

I loooved Ares... I used to run, with a group of about 7 other girls, a website called The Battle for Ares, where we'd pair him with females from the show and defend why he should be with her and whatnot (I ran the Gabrielle corner, naturally ;) )... it was a lot of fun.

I was a shipwhore for Gabrielle... she and Ares were my favorite, but I also liked her with Iolaus, Virgil, Perdicas, Cupid... yeah. Lots of options there. :p

^Quill is one of my favorites too, and I agree about the ending. They actually had scripted a Gabrielle/Ares kiss, but changed their mind before filming... damn them!

I loved the ending of the show, very much. It seemed fitting... I just can't see Xena settling down and living happily ever after, etc; I think she had to meet a warrior's end, as she did.

Oh, I know! That was such a shock to hear that he had died. :( I believe he did die right after Riverworld finished shooting but before they'd completed the film. Such a waste. He was supposed to be in "Tears of the Sun" with Bruce Willis next.

But at least he and all the rest are forever captured in the Xena DVDs! It's no coincidence that almost all of my favorite eps feature Ares pretty prominently! :p

Lawless will reprise the role she took this season as an investigative journalist who turns out to be an undercover agent for the villainous Cylon faction. Lawless' second appearance on the ensemble drama is slated for February 24. Her arc will commence with the show's third season, which begins production in April in Vancouver.

I miss Xena so much, my Saturday evenings used to be hercules followed by xena, there's never anything on now. Never got to see the last season. I don't remember Xena having a daughter though- she had a son that Gabrielle's daughter killed right?
Wow it's been ages since I watched this. It used to be on the same day as the tribe, which was amusing because most of the cast of the tribe was in xena and hercules. It was fun spotting them.

To me, 3rd season was the best of them all. I know a lot of people didn't like The Rift, with Gabrielle and Xena fighting and all, but me? I'm an angst ho. :p I loved it.

I didn't care for the killing off of the Greek Gods in the last season and a half. Yeah, gotta have progress and change and whatnot, but they were so fundamental to the basis of the Herc-n-Xenaverse, I just didn't see the reason behind offing them. At least they left Ares and Aphrodite intact though. :rolleyes: I would've loved to have gotten to know Athena before the whole Twilight ordeal, she was quite cool.

The only season I didn't think was overall awesome, though, was the final season. They, in my opinion, were shoving Xena/Ares way too much, and even the X/G 'subtext' was a bit too maintext. I was never on the 'Xena and Gabrielle are lovers!' boat, cause I'm too much a fan of Gabrielle/Ares and Xena/Herc. :p I don't have a problem with the idea, I just didn't see it myself. I love the friendship aspect of X/G- nothing more, nothing less.

Been watching the 10th-year-collection DVDs like a good girl. Just finished disc 2 the other day and I had to come here and :boogie: because when I popped it in and saw "The Bitter Suite" on it, I nearly tripped over myself clicking "play" :D The musical episode had always stuck with me and I was so thrilled over it being on the DVDs. Bwhaha.

But it showed me how much my "Xena timeline" was screwed. According to the DVDs, "TBS" was season 3? So that's when all the baby-stuff happened? Weeeird.

And yes. Kick ass episode. And catchy songs. So: "Nothing more need be said. Ding dong. The bitch is dead." Bwha! Ares <3

"A Day In The Life" was also there and that's the one with that giant and... the guy in the village who "falls" for Xena and his weird girlfriend that later on, I believe, kept idolizing Xena... It was one of those mainly silly/just-for-fun episodes, which I adored above all... And there was fishing!!! :D Squee.

Okay. Enough fangirl-ing. Disc 3, here I come.

Edit: Damn addictions. Halfway past the 4th disc now, and wow!

The episode when Xena and Gabby got nailed to crosses? Aww! I remembered it but I really didn't... :eh: So it was sad. And funny because I was thinking "how many times has Gabby almost died now" (the episode before that, she got shot with a poison arrow :rotflol:) and then Xena saves her but she gets her spine snapped :eek: I was like hiding under my pillow. And... Then I cried :D But yes. Wow!

The 'Fallen Angel' one scared me though. Those wings were creepy :nod:

What's with Gabrielle's big make-over? I thought it came like... in season 6 or something. Because whenever I watched reruns, 95% of the time it was the long-haired Gabby. And suddenly she's all tattoo'd and short-haired and very blonde :no: Weird.

And I JUST watched "Lyre, Lyre, Hearts on Fire" and - LMAO! I never knew there was another musical! Since 'TBS' is likely my favorite episode, I wouldn't have thought it possible for something to come close... But wow! That was hilarious. And so rock-y and bouncy and... Wow! Seriously. THAT was a musical episode! They used well-known song bases, they danced... Wee :boogie:

Something I was reminded of while watching Motherhood today... Ares gave up everything for Xena; his immortality, his godhood, his family... and it meant nothing. I mean, she was grateful, but it didn't really change her view of him. I don't think she'd have ever been able to get over her anger/resentment/whatever else for all the things he's done in the past.

Gabrielle, as we've seen, is a bit more open, trusting, and forgiving. I think if Ares had actually wanted to change, as he tried to show her he was doing in Succession, she'd have eventually been able to accept that.

Yes, but the worst part of it is my poor aging computer and it's tiny hard drive. I'm thisclose to having to remove a lot of my "Lost" vidding material (clips and the still pics I use for animation purposes) just to render (save the project file as a WMV video) the Lost vid I have in progress. WMM will throw a tantrum if you get too close to maxing the hard drive. :rolleyes:

But one day I hope to have a comp with a good sized hard drive AND a DVD drive (something I really miss having with this one... :( ). Then I hope to do vids for other fandoms, including, of course, "Ares." Uh, I mean, "Xena!" That's the name of the show! I knew that! :o :D

AHAHA! In the past week, I've watched a good 90 hours of Xena. Season 2 through 5, mostly. Though I skipped a bunch of episodes in season 5 'cause I wanted to watch all the main ones that followed the "plot" of the season [baby, gods, etc.] So I didn't watch the "filler" episodes, but I will... If I can bring myself to it... Ares is so damn hot... I just stalk episodes with him and rewatch them a bunch...

I really appreciate that! I still haven't found the exact scene that I'm looking for from "The Quill Is Mightier..." the scene (of course! :rolleyes: ) where Gabby and Ares almost bond. There's a split second where they look at each other and they're both still smiling (before they start looking like, "Oh crud, what am I doing???" ;) ). I actually about wore out a VCR (not to mention what it did to the tape :rotflol: ) freeze-framing that precise moment and just staring at it with a wistful sigh! :heart:

Anyway, I've found some caps of that moment but it's either from before they make eye contact or after they stop smiling. Yeah, I'd love to put that up... if the site ever returns. >.< I used to have it on homestead, and they were great until they stopped free service. Then I switched to geocities, which I hate. Yeah, so... I bought iTunes the other week to download all the Wildfire episodes I've missed and to keep up with this season [I don't get the channel at college :rolleyes:] and I randomly checked it for the Xena soundtracks... To my surprised, they had them all! I bought both musical ones ($10 each!) and when I go home one weekend, I'll burn CDs of them... 'Til then, I have them on loop on my laptop :D So yay! I just had to share...

Eventually I'll buy the regular soundtracks too... I need to give my check card a rest though :D It's close to $500 I've spent on Xena and Wildfire this past month.

Heh... yeah, at first the angels were... angelic... as expected. But down the line they got darker, and I kinda like that. All the 'higher powers' in the Herc and Xenaverse are rarely all good, so it'd be a disappointment for that to change just because they brought in a new mythology/belief.

I'm gonna start working on some Michael caps in a bit... just gotta decide which eps. ;) Fallen Angel for sure, his first Xena appearance... but what else...

I hadn't seen this show in years and then somone's recent banner sparked some interest in me.
So yeah, yesterday I bought season 4 and I am definitely going to find the first 3 seasons.

i had looked it up on tv. com i think onces, and it said that it stopped airing back in 1995. and none of my friends had ever head of the show. But they should play it again. Along with hercules. These two shows where with me all my childhood, i'd definatly like to see them again!
