I don't know if this will work, but I think that Adewale (Eko) should have his own thread! I tried to send a message to one of the moderators when I noticed that he did not have one. I am a huge, huge, huge fan of this actor and I'm happy that this show is giving him more exposure. I also have a yahoo group for Adewale and this is the url:

I loved finally seeing him on a talk show. It was great. I caught both Jimmy Kimmel and Tavis Smiley with him on it. And I can't help but sit there with my mouth open pratically drooling, hanging on every word. I adore his accent as well! Just a lovely man!

'Lost' Actor Delivers State Senate Prayer

HONOLULU - One of the actors of the ABC series "Lost" left behind his star power to promote a different type of strength among local lawmakers — harmony and hope.

Dressed in a simple gray suit draped with a single strand of maile leaves, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, a devout Buddhist, quietly delivered the traditional daily prayer before the state Senate on Wednesday.

"I thank you very much, deeply, from the root of my heart because I believe this is what my mission is in life to share this practice and to create dialogue with others," Akinnuoye-Agbaje said.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje plays the character of Mr. Eko, a former African drug lord who had taken on the identity of a Roman Catholic priest. The series is filmed in Hawaii.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje read the 23rd Psalm, which is also the title of the "Lost" episode during which Eko's violent past and struggle for redemption are revealed.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje was invited to deliver the invocation by Sen. Fred Hemmings, R-Lanikai-Waimanalo, after the senator saw the episode featuring Eko's story.

Though the show has been sweeping up awards, including a Golden Globe last month for best television drama series, Akinnuoye-Agbaje called his appearance before the Hawaii Legislature "the pinnacle" of his career.

"This to me is the greatest reward because it's based upon my faith," he said in an interview following the invocation.

LOL! It took me awhile to get his name down but I sat there while he was on Jimmy Kimmel as a couple of weeks ago and said it over and over again. That's the way I got his name down. I can pronouce it now :D

I don't know whether anyone has mentioned this but Adewale was on T4 (Uk) the other day, T4 had done a short (very short!) interveiw - with clips of Lost eps too. Cynthia Watros was also interveiwed.

Some of Britain's finest acting talent was in London on Tuesday night for the Screen Nation Film And TV Awards, which celebrates black showbiz talent. The prestigious annual event attracted a roll call of famous names including Thandie Newton and Hustle hunk Adrian Lester...

Other winners on the night included R and B sensation Keisha White, who won best music performance on film/TV, and Lost actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who received two best actor gongs.
