Morning, all. I see there was another discussion on drugs last night! :p

I promised not to spoil anything about last nights eppy, and I won't. Mouth is zipped. Locked up. Key, thrown away. :[ But needless to say, Charlie was an ass, and there was a part reminiscent of Ethan. How I long for the old days, when Charlie was in fear for his life. He was a better person then.

It's really disappointed me, because at one point, I was PB&J all the way... and then, in Exodus, he picked up that statue... and I knew he'd never be completely faithful and focused on Claire. Once a junkie...

But you know, I'm probably posting this in the wrong thread. :) I ought to go over to ConMama or something. Or, if I want to be viciously attacked by rabid dogs, I could post in PB&J forum... *shudder*... Nah, I'd never make it out alive. And then I'd get nasty PMs all day.

I think everyone will be surprised when, at the end of season two, Claire turns out to be a spy for the Others and Ethan comes back to take her to their mountaintop home. :p They have diapers there, real ones, I just know it.

Actually, it's the Sawyer/Claire story. I'm writing part 5, which -- if I followed my own formula -- was supposed to be short and sweet. And not a bit of the story was supposed to include Charlie. Well, I got to writing last night, and it just wouldn't let go. And Charlie had to rear his ugly head -- that beastly little man just wouldn't leave. His part is short, and it's there to teach Sawyer a lesson about himself; I didn't want him in at all, but he was the only character I could use for it, so he had to be there.

So, anyway, the chapter is shaping up to be four pages on word, which is way longer than I wanted it to be. It was going to be like chapter 3, short and to the point, but there's no way to do it unless I do it in past perspective. And I don't want to do that -- I want the characters who are in it to speak (as they are speaking) and not to speak in memory. Does that make any sense?

Well, I don't really *hate* Charlie. I know it comes across like that, and I'm sorry for it -- but it's not really hate. It's actually closer to disgust, I think.

This is what it comes down to, for me. (And yes, I understand this is a *show*! :p) Here's Claire: already abandoned by the man she loves, feeling forced to give up her only tie to him because of her circumstances. She feels as though she would be a bad mother, and that her baby would be better off with *anyone* other than her. So, she's looking out for her kid, whether or not she's planning on keeping it, right? She's taken the time to trust and befriend Charlie; then she's kidnapped for God only knows what reason by our man Ethan and loses her short-term memory of the events that occurred post-crash. Here's Charlie who (admittedly) almost died and is recovering from heroin addiction; and he wants to be a person who takes care of someone else -- it's just what he feels he needs to complete himself, that's basically what the whole FB in Homecoming dealt with. He wanted to overcome his addiction and feel capable again, to feel as though he could take care of someone. Claire says, I can take care of myself. Well, fine -- take a hint, Charlie -- don't HIDE THINGS and give her the opportunity to find out if you're WORTH TRUSTING and being taken care by. So, she comes to depend on Charlie -- at his insistence, am I right? -- and then, unknown to her, he grabs a stash of the drugs that ruined his dependability to begin with. He carries it around. ...I can't get much more into that part of it right now, since you haven't seen the new eppy... But, he LIES to someone who's come to depend on him -- and it's not just a itty bitty lie, it's a HUGE, continuous lie. It's drugs around her baby. He maligns her parenting abilities while CONTINUOUSLY LYING about his OWN DEPENDABILITY.

Anyway -- if he'd just own up to his mistake and atone for it, I would not have a problem with him. Events of last night's episode tell me that Charlie is *not* a good enough person for Claire -- hell, even Ethan wanted her enough to *kill* for her, and Charlie can't even let go of his security blanket! I shipped Claire with ETHAN because in some ways, even HE was better for Claire. How sick is that?

I agree with your views on Charlie especially after, like you said, the Homecoming episode. The fact that he went and retrieved Aaron fom Danielle also suggested that his relationship with Claire would be all the stronger because of it, but it still seems Heroine is still too much of a pull to stay away from completely. You'd think after settling down with Claire and having a baby to care for would be enough to make him realise that he doesnt need the drugs anymore and that he has something that drugs will never give him, but it doesnt look that way.

Don't do it, ehsteve -- you have to wait for the video. Transcripts are NOT going to be very helpful with this episode. It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that you watch first... then, later, if you want to see a transcript, do that -- but watch what happens before someone spoils it for you!

also you'll never get the full effect of the episode by reading the transcript. One of the great things about Lost is the visual and audio treats, the shock to the senses, you'll never get that from a bog-standard transcript. (are you using BT ehsteve?)

Hey everyone, I'm nowhere near seeing the newest epi, but ive given up on trying to not be spoiled.(Damn download limit!)

I got photoshop today, so I have to learn to use it and then I will have much cooler and more amazing banners, wp's and avi's.

I got an idea for some slogans. Basicallly, you take off every other ships slogan and make it EClaire. So I'll write what ship I'm taking off, before I write the EClaire version.

(Skate) EClaire- EClaire minds think differentely, and strangely.
(Shoone) EClaire- Love never gets shot in the chest, OR, Love always dies.
(Jun) EClaire- Love needs no translation, all you have to do is look into Ethan's eyes to see love.
(Conmama) EClaire- Sugar and a psycho, OR, Sugar and cheese.
