Yeah I know wrestling isnt "real" but I have been a fan since I was a kid. I know not one soul who watches it everyweek like I do. So I created this thread to bring us wrestling fans together. Here we can talk about who we like or dislike, matches we want to see, you get the idea. Lets start with this...
What solo wrestler and tag team do you think influenced wrestling to be where it is today?
I would have to say Hulk Hogan the god of the squared circle and The Legion of Doom.
Either this is gonna be an awsome thread or I am a geek.

well I guess i'm a geek too *dances* :)
I loved wrestling since I was kid too, I used to buy all the video games...infact I still do buy all the video games. :) I watch both Raw and Smackdown every week and tape the ppv's.
What solo wrestler and tag team do you think influenced wrestling to be where it is today?
I agree with you on both counts there however aswell as hulk hogan I think Ric Flair, The Rock and Stone Cold heavily influenced it also.
RIP Eddie Guerrero, his death deeply upset me and I miss watching him alot. He was a great wrestler. :) Latino Heat Burns 4life

I just got Smackdown vs. Raw 2006. I love to CAW and then play through the season. I also agree with you on your additions to the list. I would like to add Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Hart Family, The Ultimate Warrior, and of course Andre the Giant. What in the world happened to Macho Man? I miss that guy. It is sad to see wrestlers come and go. I miss Eddie too. He was just coming into his own which makes it that much sadder.
I cant wait for the Hell in a Cell between Undertaker and Orton. Hell in a Cell matches are so much fun to watch.

the Hart family...yeah they definatly influenced it, I guess the Mc Mahon family did also. after all, with out them where would the wwe be.
I love S vs r '06, I like the new match editions.
I'm looking forward to the elimination chamber at new years rev. I love those matchs, they only come once a year. should be fab.

I always thought Shane O Mac was a great wrestler. He was able to get more air off the top ropes than most pros ive seen. I like the fact the on SVR your guy has a voice in Season mode although none of them sound like I want. The new matches are cool too. The fulfill your fantasy is kinda weird though. Did you see Michael Hayes on Monday? I like when they bring in old school guys for a little spotlight. Its good to get updated on what they are doing. Have you read any of the books that have been put out? Have a Nice Day-Mick Foley is an interesting and very funny read. I have a lot of respect for him. He has put his body through so much just so the fans can get a great match. Hes another guy I miss seeing in the ring.

I've never been a great fan of Mick Foley. He's a great wrestler but I never really liked him. I've flicked through his book once or twice and I read some parts of it. I like it when they bring legends out, it's good to see some of the older superstars back where they belong.

There is no way that we are the only two people on this forum who watch wrestling. Where the hell is everybody? Anyway, I read The Rocks book too. Not too bad but not as funny as Micks. I miss Hogan also. He is the man. Yes hes old, yes hes past his prime, but hes still Hulk Hogan. And I cant stand Kurt Angle anymore. Gold medals mean nothing when your acting like an ass. He used to be pretty funny when he was face but being a heel just doesnt work for him.

I LOVE wrestling. I was a pro wrestler for a little over a year, actually. *snatches wrestling geek throne* :p
I credit Hulk Hogan with playing a crucial role in making wrestling mainstream, but I think that Ric Flair was the most influential figure in the sport, followed closely by Jerry Lawler. Both have/had amazing charisma and rabid fan followings, and they're both total class acts who have never "sold out". For tag teams, I agree on LOD. The Rockers and the Hart Foundation were great, too.
And gah, I missed last Monday's Raw -- Michael Hayes was on?! *cries and hums Freebird* VERY cool to see some of these legends making appearances again.

I agree angle sucks ass, he constantly annoys me now, every time I see his face I wanna punch him :P Hogan was great...I really loved his entrance music, it rocked :P
my fave present wrestler is Randy Orton, I love him, I loved evolution...even though they were supposed to be the bad guys, I loved them...they would have been better without HHH...control freak............it seems that we are the only in here who like wrestling, wait that can't be possible...there's thousand of members on this site o_O.......oh wait here comes another...yay!!

Michael Hayes came out with Sgt. Slaughter to get Edge out of the ring. He was out of control talking about Ric Flair and how he needs to retire and how old he is, etc. etc. Hayes got in his face yelling at him about how the new wrestlers think they are the sh*t and that they dont have any respect for what Flair or Hayes had done for the company. They didnt have limos waiting for them or people to take care of everything for them. Then Hayes said how many main events have you been in or how many World Heavyweight titles have you had. Edge said something about Hayes partner being dead. Hayes was so angry at this point he went off on Edge punching him in the face. Lita jumped in to help and they both beat up Hayes and Slaughter. Edge grabbed a chair hitting Hayes on the head. I cant wait til next week to see what happens. I wouldnt mind seeing that match.
Anyway are you serious that you were a wrestler? What was your persona? And I loved the Rockers too.
I liked the whole Evolution thing also. But I like most bad guy groups. Like the n.W.o. and DX. HHH needs to shave though. He just doesnt look right. I liked Orton until he started messin with the Undertaker. Lets see how bad he is after that Hell in a Cell match thats coming up. Sorry but Undertaker is gonna want revenge and he always gets it.

see I don't understand why people do that. I mean they like somebody but as soon as they start messing with someone they also like they hate them. I mean I like Taker but just cos he and Orton have a rivalry doesn't mean i'm now gonna start hating him. I like both of them but I would prefer Orton to win. Sure Taker always gets revenge, but don't ya think his act is getting a bit old now..I mean the whole "I will haunt you by turning of the lights and playing scary music" it was good the first few times but now he needs something new. I loved it when Orton set the casket on fire that just totally rocked but I also loved it how Taker came out of the Casket at SS. :)

I should have worded that differently. Its not that I dont like Orton. He is a great wrestler, but you just dont mess with the Undertaker. I like the rivalry between the two. I just think Undertaker is the baddest man in the buisness. And yeah him coming out of the flaming casket was too cool.
Morgan Celestine
12-09-2005, 06:13 AM
Yeah, Taker is definatly the baddest man :)
which show do you prefer, smackdown or raw?
Personally I prefer smackdown. I like the superstars at smackdown better than the ones at Raw, smackdown has better story lines.
I was on S vs R last night in GM mode and Eddie has been injured and is out for 11 weeks :( :( :(

Smackdown definately has the better show. The wrestlers are better, the storylines are better. I found out that Brock Lesner will be coming back in a couple of years. He is wrestling in Japan. When he quit to pursue his football career his contract said he cant come back for so long. He didnt make it in football and now has to wait untill his contract says he can come back. Not sure how long but a couple of years I think.

Found some interesting news. Lex Luger was arrested for a warrant. Something that had to do with steroids found in his home. He might start a new wrestling league with Sting. Macho Man is back in the picture as he is working on a rap album. Im sure that is going to be awsome.... Sid Vicious is in Japan wrestling trying to get back into it after a bad leg injury. I have seen the video of him breaking his leg. He landed on it wrong after a top rope attack. His leg below the knee was just flopping around like jell-o. I hope he makes a full recovery. Do you remember The Patriot? He was around for awhile about five years ago. He was a cool guy and then was gone. Well, he got into lots of pill popping and steroids. He is clean now and is now a car salesman. Stevie Ray, former tag partner of Booker T is retired and owns a car wash. Hillbilly Jim has a radio talk show. Ted Dibiase is a preacher. I guess thats it, thought you might want to know about all this stuff. I also missed Smackdown last week and Raw last night so if anything interesting happened please let me know.

yay, I loved lesner, he was so great. His rivalry with goldberg totally rocked, I never liked goldberg...Lesnar rules. Actually i was watching one of his matchs the other night from about a year and a half ago...or something like that...anyway it was against paul london (LOL!!!) it was paul's debut match and the title was on the line. honestly I laughed for hours after that match, it was so bloody hilarious. All I can remember is Vince Mcmahon saying before the match to Paul London "I can see your name now in flashing lights- Paul London WWE champion" :rotflol: :rotflol:
needless to say that match was a joke, lesnar was obviously gonna win but still it was funny :)

I think the funniest thing I ever saw was when Shane O Mac and Angle had a match. Shane had to throw Angle through a glass window, but when he tried to toss him through it, it didnt break. They stood there for a few seconds like "oh no, what do we do". Shane had to smash Angles head against it like five times before it finally broke. So funny.
Big wrestling fan here. Haven't been able to watch in almost a year, so I'm pretty much out of the loop with what's gone on.
Was shocked when Guerrerro died... he was so good. I was never a huge fan of his character, but there's no denying his talent.
Huge Jeff Hardy fan here, I've loved what I've gotten to see of his TNA stuff. Also love Lita, Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton, Charlie Haas, Batista... there are a lot of really good athletes in right now.
Anyone big on the video games? Up till now I've bought all of the WWE PS2 games, but I won't be buying SDvR '06 anytime soon. I rented it, and was just disappointed, most pointedly with the fact that female wrestlers are already shut out of playing season mode, but now they can't even do ladders, cages, chamber, etc etc in exhibition. I've got a long running female CAW, and if I can't even play her in the fun exhibitions, I'm not laying down $50 for the game. Maybe a year from now when it's $20, we'll see. ;)

Yay, another wrestling fan! I also like the new TNA show. I havent been able to see it that many times but I like what I have seen. I watched it last week and they said Sting was gonna be on the show. I hope so because he was one of my favorite wrestlers on WCW. One of the few I liked. I havent seen Jeff on there yet so hopefully he will be there this week.
There is a huge match at the next Pay-Per-View. Its a Elimination Chamber Match between Cena, Angle, Kane, The Masterpiece, Shawn Michaels, and Carlito for the WWE Championship. I could do without Carlito but I hope to watch it anyway.
I also rented the 06 SVR and didnt really enjoy it. I cant get Jake the Snake without unlocking him on the PSP and then transfering it to my PS2. Strange. The new matches are pretty cool though. The Royal Rumble is alot harder too. My girlfriend likes to play and she thinks it sucks you cant use the females either. I am a guy so I never use them so its not that big a deal to me, but I can see the problem in it. I tried to do the GM mode but its alot harder than it should be. Also some of the challenges are immpossible. The playing possum move makes me laugh. Its so intense about it.
I dont get Smackdown though which sucks because I miss out on all that stuff. I want Undertaker!
Yeah so sad to hear of Eddies death. Its hard to see wrestlers come and go.
I wish Cena would lose the belt already. I am putting my money on Shawn to win it at the PPV. Its time he got another shot at it. He doesnt have too much longer in this buisness.
Anyway gotta go, but I am glad to see another fan on this thread. I love wresling but there arent too many fans here. Hope to see more posts.

I used to be a huge wrestling fan, back in the WWF Attitude days. Now, it just isnt as good so I don't obsess about being home to watch it. If I am home I'll tune into it but wont record it or anything. My favorite wrestlers are Randy Orton and Batista. Orton is my all time favorite though, tied with The Rock. I wish The Rock would come back for a couple months or so. WWE has gone down hill ever since they bought out wCw. I liked wCw a lot more than WWF.

Another wrestling fan here, though only for the past four years. My college roomie, a former indie wrestler herself, got me into it. Unfortunately I came in at the end of some great times, such as the Hardy Boyz and E&C, but thankfully she taped a lot of it.
My all time favorite wrestler would have to be Shane Helms in any gimmick at all. He's good on the mic, he's a talented wrestler, and his backstage skits are some of the funniest things out there. I'm also a fan of Divas... that are wrestlers. Chyna, Victoria, Molly, Jazz, Gail... I love 'em.
<Insert rant about the Diva contests and T&A Divas here>
<Insert rant about strong dislike for Amy Dumas/Lita here>
I wish they'd do more with the cruiser weights, they're my favorites. Paul and Brian work so well together.

Welcome fan of the squared circle.
Shane Helms is an exceptional wrestler. He showed up on Monday Night Raw. Him and the King Jerry Lawler seem to have a fued going.
I think Chyna is wresling in Japan last I heard. I am glad to see that the Divas are actually doing some cool things now. They have had some great matches as of late. I cant wait for the Bra and Panties Elimination Matches coming up.
Jeff Hardy is wrestling in the TNA league. It was a shame the Hardy Boys broke up. They were a great team. Christian is also there wrestling. I liked E & C when they were a tag team, but as solo wrestlers, they arent as cool to me anymore.
Cruiserweights dont get the attentiion they deserve. There are some awsome wrestlers in that class that get looked over quite a bit. I dont even know who the cruiserweight champ is now that I think about it.
And what ever happened to the Hardcore Championship? That was my favorite belt. And you know the matches were going to be good.

I wasn't a big fan of the Hardcore belt. The comedy Crash moments were good, but t seemed to replace artistry, storytelling and athleticism with blood. That said I do enjoy a good hardcore match now and again.
So what did you think of the rumble? I'm glad Rey won, hutted Cena retained and will always have Angle as number 1 (and henry worse then everyone, wrestler or not, I hate thatt useless piece of ****).

I missed evrything that has happened in the last coulpe of weeks due to girfriend problems. I did catch the last match on Monday though. I really wish Cena would lose his belt already. I think he is a great wrestler, and I actually like his whole image. I would like to see someone unexpected get it that doesnt suck like Edge.
So Rey won though huh? That is awsome. He is an amazing wrestler. So he gets a shot at the title yeah? Cena and Rey at Wrestlemania. I could see that.
Have you been watching TNA? I saw that Sting came back, wrestled at a PPV, then came on the next week and said thanks to all his fans and goodbye. Then he left! I havent seen what heppened since then. I did catch the last ten seconds of the last show. It was one of the Canadian guys backstage saying something like, Sting isnt gone. Just wondering if you knew anything else about this.
Good to see another fan posting here though. Not many people stick around this thread. Yall come back now, ya hear!

Don't watch TNA. Was very tempted when Christian went over, but there's not enough time n my life for 2 wrestling promotions y'know. I can't believe you said you like Cena though, but fair enough I'm not here to judge, but I'd take Edge over him any day of the week.
Why did Christian go to TNA? I only heard about that at the end of January, so it was a bit of a surprise to me. I'd love to see him and Jeff work a program together again though.

I too am a fan although i do not like the way WWE is heading, I preferably watch TNA now which is a very cool show, with the octagon ring, the x division, great wrestlers, great showmen.
I really like their cruiserweight division such as Amazing Red, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin (his finisher is insane). I really think they need to stop Samoan Joe, that dude is just sick.
I really think Shane should take over for Vince now, I believe he could breathe new life into the WWE. Shane is my favorite wrestler.

Thanks for the email Deadman. Alex Shelley filmed home footage of Sting but got caught and Sting said he will be at the next pay-per-view. Now Jarret is calling up someone to help him.
My favorite wrestlers would have to be Rey, Taker, and Angle on Smackdown and Cena, Benjamin, and RVd on Raw but Eugene is the funniest character. On TNA, i love the x-division. Those moves they do are awesome. The canadian destroyer is insane. My favorite wrestlers on TNA would be Styles, Lethal, and Christian.

No problem, thanks for the TNA info.
My favorite wrestlers on Raw are Shawn Michaels, HHH, and Kane. On Smackdown I totally agree with you on Rey, Angle and The Undertaker, or The Underweartaker as my friends call him.
The x-division is very cool. Its like a whole new kind of wrestling. Styles and Samoa Joe are bad@$$. I dont get to watch it every week though which sucks. I have yet to see Jeff Hardy or The Prince of Punk wrestle. I miss Jeff and I just want to see what The Prince can do. He looks like he can wail on someone.
Do you watch Backyard Wrestling at all? I watch a little bit of it. Some of it can be cool but some of it is so stupid. Just curious what you think about those guys.
Anyway, welcome to the thread and keep on posting. Later.

I've seen some of backyard wrestling. Some of those things are crazy. I saw a guy jump off a basketball goal and splash onto a guy on a table. It was insane. But those guys are crazy.
I used to really like Kane. Used to be my favorite but he seems to have gotten weaker recently. He isn't the monster he used to be and i don't like that. I hated the Lita/Kane marriage and pregancy. Really stupid story to involve Kane with that.
I saw Shannon Moore wrestle two times. I used to watch the weekly pay-per-view TNA had. Saw a lot of Jarret matchs. But i don't like him. One person i have never seen wrestle on TNA is Christian. He only seems to wrestle on pay-per-views.

I think backyard wrestling is so funny at times. I watched a guy jump of a trampoline on a guy stretched out on a table. He hit the guy but mostly just hit the side of the table with his elbow. He jumped around holding his elbow for awhile and then tried it again and did the same exact thing.
I know what you mean about Kane being weaker now. He is still a powerhouse, but he doesnt have the same aura around him. I miss the old Kane.
Jeff Jarret sucks. I think he is a horrible wrestler. Who the hell looks at him and says, yeah lets give him the belt and the main event matches?

I agree about Jarrett. He never really impressed me much.
Did u see the pay-per-view last night. Scott Steiner came back and Daniels won the ultimate X match. Christian also was able to retain the belt and Sting came back.
Are u getting Wrestlemania. The matches I can't wait to see are Taker/Henry Casket Match. Taker should win. Angle/Rey/Orton triple threat. So many styles in 1 match. I think Angle will win. Also the money in the bank match. I hope RVD wins. I hope on the Smackdown side, its Lashley, Hardy, and Super Crazy.

I had to work all weekend so I didnt get to watch TNA at all. But with Scott and Sting both there I am definately going to have to clear my schedule next weekend.
I dont normally get PPVs. When I moved into my apartment I had cable hooked up already and havent paid for it since I moved in. I dont want to try and order a PPV and screw up that deal so yeah, no PPVs. I will try to find some place to watch it though. I think every match they are having this year is going to be great. The casket match and the triple threat should be the better of the night I hope.
Have you been watching the Saturday Night WWE show? This weekend its Rey/Angle/Orton vs HHH/Cena. I think that is going to be a pretty interesting match.
Do you watch Hogan Knows Best? Hogan is my favorite wrestler of all time so I watch it every chance I get. I think Hogan is a funny dude. He cracks me up when he talks dirty to his wife and she gets all shy. Brian Knobs is also on the show so its cool to see him.
What did you think of Raw last night? Did you get to see Shawn throw pee on both Shane and Vince? That was great. And the Kane/Big Show/Cena vs HHH/Carlito/Masters match was pretty good too. Also Goldust fought Edge and people were just like, ok. I havent seen Goldust in years and now he is just there and nobody makes one comment? That was strange to me.

Goldust actually came back a while back. I think it was during the Royal Rumble or something like that.
I missed the 1st half of Saturday Night's Main Event so i missed the main event vs. main event match. Who won? I did enjoy the Austin segment and the street fight. It was awesome how Micheals suplexed Shane through those tables. Also Taker was there.

Yeah goldust came back at the royal rumble now his on velocity I think. I've decided I just don't like John Cena anymore he's champion for a year while the pro's like Kurt Angle have to sit back and get beaten. I hope HHH beats him at wrestlemania.
I've never watched TNA before is it good?.
P.S John Cena won for raw on SNME the match wasn't as good as i'd hoped it would be mainly because it was all Randy Orton, HHH, and Cena

Basically it shows Kurt Angle and John Cena fighting in the Raw arena. Angle knocks Cena it the crowd where a fan hands Angle a bottle which he then smashes over Cena's head. Angle set's Cena up on a table and climbs up a sort of construction thing and moonsaults of it onto Cena. The Graphics are great you can really see the sweat running down there backs. Wow that was... bad. I mean Mysterio as champ?... come on anyone but him at least he'll lose it soon, I think. I was actually pretty impressed with Cena he carried on despite the fact he was being booed, that's shows a lot of heart. But unfortunately as a whole the show didn't live up to the hype.
I'd give it a 7/10 not really bad but last years was infinetly superior.

I'd give it a 8 out of 10. I loved the Rey became the champ. It was awesome but i agree that he'll probably lose it soon. I didn't watch the beginning of the match with Cena but i watch most of it. The crowd was real into it. I wish i was there. Here's a list of my favorite matches of the night.
1. Triple Threat Match
2. Hardcore Match
3. Money in the Bank
4. Cena/HHH
5. Micheal/Mcmahon
6. Women's Title
7. Casket Match
8. Tag Titles
9. JBL/Beniot
10. Boogeyman/Booker T
11. Pillow Fight

That sounds like the right order.
Another thing, why is Cena still champ?. I mean he's practically stayed the champ a year. That's why I prefer smackdown! as much as I liked Angle being champion I didn't want him to hold it for a year. You heard the crowd on sunday. The majority of fans just don't like Cena anymore, McMahon should listen to this and give the title to HHH.
Raw last night was classic. Vince and Shane vs HBK and God for backlash was so funny. I'm glad Cena finally lost a fight. He's like UnderTaker he never ever loses matches fairly. Apart from all that this years looking up.

Yeah the Tag champs thing sucked so bad.
Anyway the HBK and God vs Shane and Vince match was scheduled for Backlash.
Chavo lost the match and claimed on WWE.com unlimited that he "quit".
I'm praying that Triple H gets his rematch at Backlash. Has anyone heard HHH's new theme Bow down to the king?. Does anyone know if that's his new theme for good?.
P.S The problem with the whole Tag Champions deteriation thing is that essentially the belts mean nothing. You can give the belts to the best in the buisness won't stop the from being worthless. In the WWE only two belts really count and that's the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships.

I agree that the tag team division sucks in the WWE. They have much more importance on TNA. I haven't watched all of Raw so i can't comment too much on it. I watched the match at Wrestlemania that the crowd was mostly for HHH but there were still a lot of Cena fans. Im one of them. I can't wait for Backlash. I live in Kentucky so im getting tickets and im going. I tell you guys all about it.

I used to respect the tag teams back in the day. There used to be a lot of really good teams competing for those titles. I want to see some teams like the Hardy Boyz again.
The days of Hardyz/E&C/Dudleyz were, in my opinion, the best days the tag division has ever seen. Skills, good gimmicks, good stories, which have all been lacking since then.
You'll have to forgive me as I've not seen much WWE in over a year, but... is HHH popular now? I can't stand him. He's not a talented wrestler, and he was never willing to let anyone else get the push over him. Has that changed?

HHH is always in the spotlight. He is in the runnings to get the Heavyweight title. I can't help but like HHH though. He might not be talented like some guys but he has style to his wrestling. He still says he is the best and he lets people know it for sure. He needs to shave that goofy fu-man-choo thing he has going on though.
I'll agree he was a fairly decent entertainer, and I liked him n the DX days and when he came back from the leg injury. Had to respect him for that one, if nothing else.
He used to have that pretty spiffy goatee thing, and then he started shaving it and doing weird mustaches and such. That's just... retarded. :p

HHH has whatever mustache/facial hair that the lead guy of motorhead has at the time it's sort of a wierd friendship thing they got going on.
ETA: Triple H isn't really popular it's just John Cena's really UNpopular and everyone wanted Cena to lose the title. Back at wrestlemania 21 everyone in the crowd was rooting for Batista to win. Did anyone catch Batista at WM22?, he came back saying he's going to take back what's his.

I don't know. Ive only watched since Wrestlemania 19. One of my favorites was Wreslemania 20. I really liked the Survivor Series between Wrestlemania 19 and 20. I liked the Kane and Shane match, Buried Alive with Kane betraying Taker, and i think it was when Team Austin vs Team Bishoff.

Cool, you really need to watch Survivor Series 2001 even though it's obvious who wins it's a great match with twists and turns throughout. I've always liked the video packages the WWE put together before the main event. I liked the one for Survivor Series 2001 with "control" by puddle of mudd and New Year's Revolution 2006 with "Stricken" by Disturbed. Kane and 'Taker has got to be one of the best fueds in the WWE right behind The Rock and Steve Austin.
Rey mysterio's really grown on me all of a sudden. He's a very good wrestler and seems like a nice, respectful man.

I agree about Rey. Ive always liked him and have so much respect for him. How are you enjoying this MNM and Paul London/Brian Kendrick fued? I think they are having some amazing matches. The first tag match was the best. No one know who was going to win and it was back and forth. The best fued ive actually witnessed is probably Orton/Taker. Others ive enjoyed are Shane/Kane, Hardy/Edge(so much emotion), and Eddie/Rey(some of the best matches ive seen).

I love the matches in the MNM London/Kendrick fued but the storyline needs some work. I always thought Orton and Undertaker fued was dragged on too long. But I always loved the Rey/Eddie matches, the passion was outstanding. I've always liked the Angle/HBK fued, their wrestlemania 21 match really stole the show. Though one of my favorite fueds has to be Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince Mcmahon one, funny and dramatic from start to finish.

Completley agree with you while it's funny in places there just not the same dynamic like the one between Austin and Mcmahon or The Rock and Mcmahon. One of my favourite moments in the WWE is when The Rock won the title at the king of the ring event. Then Mr Mcmahon comes down and congratulates him (he tried to make The Rock lose at KOTR) And says he's sorry about his wife and not giving her the attention she deserves and starts ranting about how he's a "Genetic Jackhammer" he then says to The Rock:
Mr Mcmahon: I want to shake your hand, if your the man I think you are you'll take it.
The Rock hesitates and shakes his hand.
Mr Mcmahon: Well I better go.
The Rock: Hang on one second Vince. You see to The Rock you still own this company, to the Rock you are still a millionare, and to The Rock you are still an A$$hole!
The Rock gives Vince the Rock Bottom.

OMG, a wrestling thread! I've been watching wrestling religiously since 2000 and I love it (I am the only person I know, besides my brother and his friends, that watches it.)
I saw RAW and Big Show's blood from his eye, and it made me feel quesy too. I prefer to watch RAW rather than Smackdown, it's easier for me too watch. As long as HBK is on RAW, I will watch. I'm a John Cena fan, although it is time for a new champ, just to mix things up a bit. I really hope it is not Edge though - ugh I can't stand him. And HHH going for the title is getting tiresome. We need new blood.
I miss watching The Undertaker - but if Kane's off to Smackdown then I will start watching it more regularly (the two of them on the same show! Gah.) There's a lot of wrestlers on Smackdown that I have no real opinion of and not many of my favs are there. I like Randy Orton (I don't really keep up to date on all the backstage goings on, so I wasn't aware of his 'attitude').
The Rock should come back - he was funny, as well as a good wrestler. As too, was Chris Jericho (I really miss him). Stone Cold's semi-regular returns are always a joy too watch, I could do without Hogan coming back every 10 minutes (I'm not really a fan anymore).
Someone mentioned books a few pages back. I've read HBK's Heartbreak and Triumphs, and I've read Kane's book thingy. My brother is into the games, but I watch him play them sometimes.
WWE is the only show I watch, I used to watch wrestling when I was little. I think it was WCW (but it was years ago and I really don't remember all that much). Ooooo I love Sting though, him I remember.
I was all set to watch Backlash tonight, but then found out that I have to be at work at some ungodly hour in the morning, so I'm gonna have to tape it. Though that means somehow watching it between the hours of 6pm and 2am (when RAW is broadcast live), with a mother that hates it and other shows to watch!
Is Kane's move to Smackdown official?

I gotta say I was shocked at the appearance of someone bigger than Undertaker. I mean he just laid him out. Apparently this big dude (The Great Khali) was in the film the Longest Yard. Cena could lose at One Night Stand, and then there'd be no champion for Edge to face, so maybe they just make a match between them anyway.
Saying that, would they really let the Championship Belt be taken away from RAW? I mean Rey has a match for his title too, what will WWE do if any of them are lost? Surely it'd take a while for a new belt to be introduced?

I have missed Jeff since he left. I know he went to TNA but I have never seen him wrestle there. I dont watch it really though. But yeah, I am excited about his return. Maybe the tag division will become worth watching again.
Ah, Jeff just made his return. :D I thought he'd be the one to come out there. Can't wait to see a match, hopefully he'll have one tonight.

A question - just to get people out of the woodwork - do you have an all time favourite match? Storyline? Wrestler?
Match - Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian ladder match. Angle vs Shane O Mac match when they were throwing each other into the window backstage and it didnt break like it was supposed to, so Shane had to throw him into it like 10 times before it broke. Good stuff. Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior at Madison Square Gardens. Roddy Piper & Mr Wonderful vs. Hogan & Mr. T. at Wrestlmania 1.
Storyline - When Angle was a face for awhile. He was too funny then to not like. Anything involving DX is great. The Macho Man/Hogan fued over Elizabeth.
Wrestler - Hogan will always be the best ever. Also Roddy Piper, Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Sting, Jeff Hardy, MASKED Kane, Mick Foley..... this list can go a lot longer for me because there have been too many great wrestlers over the years. I tried to keep it fairly short though.

Nope, Your wrong,
Vince Mcmahon wanted kurt to take a break from wrestling, Kurt said no, So vince fired him.
Kurt wanted to carry on wrestlnig so he signed with tna, Simple as that, Plus he has a lighter schedule as he will be only wrestling 3-6 matchs a month.
Wrestling is his life, he just wanted to carry on living it .
So not the place I would have expected him to sign with. Somehow Angle personifies mainstream wrestling for me.
Agreed.
A question - just to get people out of the woodwork - do you have an all time favourite match? Storyline? Wrestler?
Matches: Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker, ladder match for WWE championship. Original TLC match. Any of Hardy vs RVD, those two put on an amazing show together.
Wrestler: Jeff Hardy
Don't really have any favorite storylines...

No Mercy's main event is now a fatal four way. I think the WWE saw that the main event wasn't drawing enough attention. I hope Batista wins it.
BTW I think Angle's become a walking timebomb injury wise, as much as I dislike him now; I don't want to see someone of his ability wind up in a wheelchair.

Bam Bam Bigelow passes away
Written: January 20, 2007
WWE.com has learned that former WWE Superstar Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow has passed away in Florida.
Kevin Doll, the Public Information Director for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Bigelow was found dead early this morning in his home in Hudson, Fla.
"We can confirm that Scott Bigelow was found in his home this morning. At this time the cause of death is unknown," Doll told WWE.com.
Doll also confirmed that the Pasco-Pinellas Counties medical examiner has taken the body and an autopsy will be performed.
Bigelow, 45, worked for WWE, ECW and WCW extensively throughout his 20-year sports-entertainment career. A former ECW Champion, ECW Television Champion and WCW Tag Team Champion, he is perhaps best known for his rivalry with Lawrence Taylor that culminated in the main event of WrestleMania XI in 1995.
Stay tuned to WWE.com as more on Bigelow's passing becomes available.

Ready for some right crap....
Unless plans change real soon, John Cena is expected to retain the WWE Championship at Backlash. Vince sees Cena as a long-term champion and feels the boos he's been getting recently will pass real soon, much like they did in 2006. Edge and Randy Orton will be feuding with each other after Backlash and Cena will either keep feuding with Shawn Michaels, or start a feud with Umaga or The Great Khali.
Undertaker is expected to go over at Backlash and Batista will feud with the returning Mark Henry. Vince wants Undertaker to have a lengthy reign as World Champion, but Undertaker will have to work a full-time schedule, something he's apparently willing to do.
If it isn't already obvious, Lashley is expected to retain the ECW Championship in the Handicap Match and then feud with Snitsky over the title.
Read that from Wrestling Observer...its just....

Did anyone else watch Summerslam? It sucked. Triple H made the whole damn night for me. His return is the only reason I ordered the PPV. The reception from the crowd was awesome. I'm so glad he's back. He's the only dude worth watching these days, IMO.
Btw, I am so pissed Orton lost to Cena. Argggh! I was rooting for him so badly. I like Cena too, but it's damn time for that belt to claim a new owner.

I watched it. I too was hoping for an Orton win, but I knew Cena would retain. They made Orton too dominant in the weeks prior...if he had come off with a win, it would have made Cena look really weak.
I was most upset though about Punk not winning the belt, luckily he won it finally on ECW, but only cause Morrison was suspended for failing his wellness test.
....as bad a Summer Slam was, last night was ultimately worse with Hornswoggle being named Vince's son?!? :banghead:

Vince needs to go away for a bit. When he's there all the time and heavily involved, the show sucks more than usual. Leave the TV appearances to the younger McMahons. I wouldn't mind seeing Steph and Shane every week.
And Hornswoggle? Fantastically lame. I thought it would be Kennedy. It should be Kennedy.
I don't mind him in small doses, as the antagonist that he's so good at; he's had some great feuds with the likes of Austin, DX, etc in the past, and I enjoyed the little bit with him and Jeff last night. But they cut to him after every freakin' match, and it's just way too much.
I agree, I'd be happy to see Shane and Stephanie around again.

WTF?? Hornswoggle. Was this the original plan or was it changed from Kennedy due to all the suspensions being handed out recently for the breaking of the WWE welness policy?I mean Umaga,Ragal,Kennedy etc.
As for Unforgiven, and Smackdowns World Championship match with Kahli in it it cant be good..lets hope Taker takes the belt back soon:blank:

Yep, word on the street is it was originally supposed to be a huge push for Kennedy, which would have been great. Kennedy was originally supposed to be getting the push as the person responsible for the death of Vince before the whole Benoit thing. I'd bet that the last minute change with this second push attempt was because of the suspensions.
I'm still hoping maybe Hornswoggle is just a decoy, and in a month or so when Kennedy returns, it is discovered that he is the real son, and the Hornswoggle thing was just some sort of setup.
I'm with Gabs on not minding some Vince time. I actually think he can be the best part of the show at times. It's the over the top segments like having a midget bastard son, and the "kiss my ass club" segments that make me sick.
As for Khali...well, I haven't even watched Smackdown since Edge vacated the title. The only thing that interests me in that whole 2 hours of TV each week is the MVP/Hardy feud, and that's not enough to remind me to tune in. Maybe when Edge comes back and gets the belt back, I'll tune in.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, too.

Ditto. I really like some of the performers on SD, but it's just not worth the time to watch.

Personally I think the MVP/Hardy feud is almost too good for S/Down..though without it I suppose there'd be nothing worth watching. To be honest I think Matt and MVp deserve a big push..I mean there far better athletes and far more entertaining than guys like kahli(ugh:blank:),Batista etc...The sooner Edge is back the better...I mean I thought Mysterio would liven it up but he doesnt seem the same since he's been back..maybe it's just ring rust though:nod:
Return of Y2J = awesome
Jeff Hardy/HHH angle = awesome
continued push of Umaga and Snitsky = crap. stop it. now.

Awesome doesn't cover Y2J's return for me.Hopefull he can save us from the Randy orton era:p
I dont mind Umaga tbh,i think he's a good woker in the ring .But Snitky..he's just so blah:blank:
Watching this 15th anniversary Raw right now... I swear, I think Hogan's wearing hair extensions. :giggle:
I was shocked to see RVD. But, then felt kinda cheated since his match was a whole... what, 2 minutes? :sigh:

I realize this thread has been quiet for a while, but now that that pesky football game is over, it's time for the real Superbowl-- Wrestlemania!! What do you think of the card so far? I'm sad that Jeff didn't win the elimination chamber at No Way Out, but this just gives him a chance to do what he does best and rock the Money in the Bank Ladder match, then get another much deserved (and honestly, overdue) title shot. (On that note, Gabs, I love your banner and avi with every piece of my heart!!)
What about the Undertaker/Edge title match? Is there any chance that Taker won't win, thus breaking his incredible undefeated streak? I just don't see that happening...
And of course the Triple threat title match... I really don't want Cena to win. As much as I dislike Orton, I would rather see him win than Cena.
Your turn!

I think Cena or Triple H will win definitely, probably Cena.
And no,no chance Taker will lose IMO,none at all.
Jeff will win Money in the bank, and I expect HBK vs Flair in a career match.

So, did anyone watch Wrestlemania? I didn't get to watch it because I'm at school and we can't really order PPV in our dorm rooms. I did, however, watch the results roll in, and none of it really surprised me (except maybe Mayweather over Big Show). I was very happy to see Matt Hardy make his return (esp. since my father's appendix pulled a Matt a few weeks ago, seeing Matt fully recovered and strong as ever gives me hope)! I was also glad to see the Undertaker keep his streak going, and, not to be irreverent because I have great amounts of respect and love of Ric Flair, to see Shawn give Ric his best and retire him the way he deserved to go out-- after an amazing match with a worthy opponent.

Orton retaining made me happy.
HBK/Flair was soooo emotional it was amazing. A *****star match IMO.Bst wrestler ever:(
Taker ME'ing was cool
The Maywether match turned out really good too.
SHelton going through the ladder in MITB was amazing though.Absolutely amazing.Shame Y2J didn't win it but I see why they gave it to Punk.Jeff being suspended made the match better.
