List of reasons why we LIKE Ana-Lucia

No disrespect, Leigh, but I just had to make a list. So if anyone has any reasons why Ana Rocks! let your voices be heard.

1. she saved many people the day of the crash
2. she saved and comforted a little girl
3. she saved Bernard's life
4. She protected the rest of the tails the whole time
5. she risked her life to find out who Mike, sawyer, and Jin were
6. she risked her life and killed Goodwin
7. she was obviously a good cop before the shooting since evryond loved her
8. she was put in the leadership position and people opposed her and when they did people died/were taken, maning they should have listened to her/she was a good leader

9. She kept everyone safe by ridding them of Goodwin. If she hadn't morepeople would've been taken until there was no one left of the Tail-Enders.
10. She decided that they should go to the other side of the island instead of staying there and being picked off one by one. She actually saved everyone's lives, and Sawyer's by willing going through the hell of the jungle just to make sure they stayed safe.

I think there are reasons to love/hate many characters on Lost.. Ana is just more debated over than most.
At the beginning with was Sawyer.. then Locke - just another character in the mix

I was sort of disappointed. I mean, I was hoping Kate did something big tomake her a fugitive, and then I found out and I was all like, "That's it? That's all?"

Boy, Ana-Lucia's waaaaaaaay more interesting. If anything, I'd think Ana-Lucia was the fugitive and Kate was well...Kate.

I kind of agree about Ana being more interesting. I feel like such a traitor because Kate was previously my favorite character, but now Ana has taken her place. I'm not gonna deny they both have interesting storylines though, but I'm just somehow more fascinated and intrigued by Ana. I'm really crossing my fingers hard that they do some great things with her character. They had to have brought her on for a reason, ya know :D I'm hoping for more than just to cause more tension with the triangle though.

I am one of those people, who make excuses for Kate.But I am defending Ana as well.I don´t think, that revenge like this is right, but I think no woman is able to imagine, what she would have done in Anas situation.Also, I am a huge fan of Sawyer and can understand, why he decided to kill the real Sawyer.When I defend him for a murder out of revenge,then I have to do the same for Ana,if I like her or not.

Hey I wasn't being mean to Kate....it's just, Kate isn't someone I'd want to be with in a pinch. She freezes up and cries in a horrific and terrifying situation. Had the situation been reversed Ana would have likely been trying to find/help Jack, not standing in a hiding place crying and screaming for him like a child. That's her business to freak, I'm just saying that Ana wouldn't have done that, and if she had it would have been totally out of character.

And, I just need to say, the dynamite thing....Kate only did that to prove something and also b/c around that time she had somewhat of a death wish....she only did that b/c she had she blown up it would have been an easy off the hook....she wouldn't have to face consquences back in the real world, and she'd have died on the island looking "heroic"....I'm sorry but using that or the hatch bit as a reason is just....well, she only did those things to prove a point or else to hope she might die actually doing something useful so she didn't have to face what she's done....if she had the guts she'd just do what it's obvious she wants to do, to end her life....instead she chooses to take risks that no one wants her to take so she can cop out and take the cowards way....that's not bravery that's weakness.

OMG you guys! Thank you so much for this thread!!! I love love love Ana! and Michelle. She is an amazing addition to the cast and I am always wanting more when the show is over.

I am ashamed to say I was one of those people who jumped in not liking her when she was a threat to Jack and Kate at the end of the season. But then I saw her this season and I was like "what the hell was I thinking?!?" She is one of the best characters on the show!

And Michelle does an amazing job. Now its hard to imagine the show without her.

They loooove Jack and Sawyer and they loove Kate, so they want to play matchmaking with their beloved characters. A new girl creates confusion and makes them being on defense.. especially if that girl is an asskicking take-no-sh*t-girl.

Yes it's AL's focus. Gale lurches at her, puts her in a strangle hold while saying "You're the killer Ana Lucia". Ana has a gun on him as well. You can view it in last night's recap thread.

Just thought I'd consolidate the list.:)

1. she saved many people the day of the crash
2. she saved and comforted a little girl
3. she saved Bernard's life
4. She protected the rest of the tails the whole time
5. she risked her life to find out who Mike, sawyer, and Jin were
6. she risked her life and killed Goodwin
7. she was obviously a good cop before the shooting since evryond loved her
8. she was put in the leadership position and people opposed her and when they did people died/were taken, maning they should have listened to her/she was a good leader
9. She kept everyone safe by ridding them of Goodwin. If she hadn't morepeople would've been taken until there was no one left of the Tail-Enders.
10. She decided that they should go to the other side of the island instead of staying there and being picked off one by one. She actually saved everyone's lives, and Sawyer's by willing going through the hell of the jungle just to make sure they stayed safe.
11. She can literally kick ass!
12. she's been through one of the hardest things a woman can go through (i.e. lost a child) but still remained strong and an asset to many people.
13. showed that even the toughest people are soft inside (like the rest of us).
14. She's got some mad gun skills....aim-wise.
15. She showed compassion to the Tail-Enders children, promising to get them home to their mother.
16. she hit Sawyer, who, as much as I love him...deserves every once of negativity he receives.

I think part of why people liked Ana Lucia was because she was crazy. People weren't so attached to her character, like we are with Charlie, Kate, and Hurley, that we weren't heartbroken when she did something bad. She was almost necessary to the show because she would do something completely insane but important to the plot. I sort of disliked Ana in Season 2, but now I miss the whole on-edge factor. :shock:

I almost fell in love with her at that moment.

So did I. I was disappointed she died I thought her character had more story.
