Okay, well. I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I searched the forums. If it is, the Mods can delete it if they want to. Here you go; the inner workings of my mind:
Now. There have been debates going around about when the plane actually took off. This got me thinking...What if they aren't on the island at all. That their flashbacks are actually going on in real time and they are flashing-FOREWARD to the island. This might explain the whole Redsocks thing and Jack's plane ticket.
Alright, that was my half-baked theory. I know that you all are going to tear it too pieces, but if you have anything to add...I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well, the creators have made it clear that they are all there, be it island or otherwise. What the flashbacks are flashing to is debatable.

you made my brain hurt =(
I have a theory.
It's called "the last episode was such crap that everyone is coming up with really far-fetched theories to compensate for the 62 minutes of our lives sacrificed watching '... and Found'"
Really, all of a sudden all these "time is twisted" theories are popping up. Unless I missed some space-time bending toejam in that fleeting glimpse of The Others' lower extremities, I'm not sure where all this is coming from.

Yeah I dont get it. Where was the orange on sun? It would have been cool if she fell into a pile of oranges on the street and he helped her. They need to get more creative.
Bumping into her because of an orange hot chick doesnt cut it I dont think. :)

The sun (big bright thing in sky) is orange. Sun=sun? (Of course, I don't know it they call it "orange" in Korea.)

it's an interesting and cool theory, but i don't buy it, reason being you'd be asking alot from the viewers to accept this, and it would be a little too confusing a concept for most to wrap their brains around

Im sorry, you have to explain this one to me im a bit slow :(
First of all, how does one "flash forward"? And then, and more important, can you help me with why it matters?
Its a relative thing. As long as we know the relation between two events, it doesnt matter which you consider the present and which the past, which flashed to from which. We know the cronological order of the two, and our minds just assume that the majority of the show, on the island, which is the latest we know, is the present to them. Because while a show can flash forward, people cant. So we are assuming (which we can tell by the acting) that they are remembering. Certainly you can see them react to the memory.
But do you see why im confused? I was reading this for a while and Im tempted to pretend I understand your idea, but I really dont. :) It is totally cool and got me thinking, but in thinking im not sure it matters either way. Its the order of events that matters.

Yeah. I only partiallly formed this in my mind, and I didn't think it comepletely through, but I can add a bit to it now.
By flash foreward, I mean that they are really living in the year that they are supposedly "remembering" and having premonitions of the island. Why it matters...It could change everthing about how the characters act and even why they get on the plane. Maybe in the end, by the time they get the plane in real time, they know what wil happen on the island. Maybe they know some things that even us viewers don't know; maybe that everything will turn out for the better in the end. Like, Locke may have decided to go on the plane because he saw that he would regain the use of his legs on the island, and maybe even used the walkabout as an excuse to end up on the flight. Kate may have gone on the plane because she knew it was her escape from the authorities.
Do you get it now? I know it's sort of complex, but if you think hard enough, you can get your head around it.

I think several events that take place prevents a fast forward theory. The most notable to me is Kate's toy plane, how she got it and why it means so much to her now. Its clearly flashing back to the events of the past.

How would that prevent the flash foreward theory...just wondering because I don't understand.

If you are willing to get all David Lynch about this show, one toy plane does not a theory break.

Talking like yoda does happy me make. :)
I just dont see how you predict 40 consecutive days of action in the future. And not just blurry shots of events, faces, emotions.... But long detailed relations with people and events that you do not understand.
I love this idea for the way it makes me think, but im not sure I can figure out a way for it to work.
