Do you guys remember the voice on the other end when Boone was talking to them? It sounded like a young guy. If they heard Boone correctly, isn't this group already expecting more survivors from 815?? That is if the voice came from Anna-Lucia's group at all... It didn't sound like any of the caracters we've met the past couple episodes.

Unless there is a third radio on the island it looks like Boone could have been talking to the Tail Section Suvivors.

I would say that if it is a radio, it is more 'old fashioned' than the transceiver Jack, Kate, & Charlie got from the cockpit...they may have found it in their hatch...

It's quite muffled in the episode, but apparently it can be heard clearly on some preview/promo video. I haven't found it though.

subtitles help. They said they are survivors of flight 815 and I agree it could be any of the other 18 survivors from Ana's camp.

If they get the radio to the camp, Sayid can probably use it to track the source of the broadcast station that was used for the distress signal. If they go there, they can update it to something for them ("These are the survivors from Oceanic Flight 815. What the :censored: is taking you so long to rescue us?!"), and perhaps find some technological doo-dads that could be useful as well.

Definitely a radio. I have one of those sitting in my basement from a few decades ago (that might be pushing it a bit). It's an old-school Motorola two-way. Battery life was total crap, so it won't work anymore if it's been on the island for a while.

And it can't be from the plane. It's too old. Had to come from inside the hatch. Another relic on the show to go along with the Apple II.

THANK YOU lostisforever. I'm sitting here reading post after post and beginning to wonder if anyone had actually WATCHED the episode we are talking about. The scene in question was pretty obvious. As I recall, it goes something like this:

Ana-Lucia says to grab the radio.

Sawyer says something like, "What? You have a radio?"

Ana-Lucia says something smart back

Sawyer makes a remark about trying to radio for help

Ana-Lucia says sarcastically, "Yah, that would be a good idea" as if to infer that has already been attempted.

It was a total "Duh" moment. Yah, no kidding it is the same radio that Boone reached when transmitting from the Beechcraft. It took me all of like, oh, 1.5 seconds to come to that conclusion.

Anyhow, I'm just sounding like a smart ass now, so I'll stop. Sorry about that. Its just that I'm reading this thread and keep saying to myself after each post, "You're kidding me, right? You guys didn't catch Ana-Lucia and Sawyer talking at length about the very same radio?" It was more than I could take this time. Mayby I'm just tired and cranky because it will be three weeks until the next LOST.

No worries dude...I just picked up on the radio getting screen time in the promo (the Canadian promo) and thought I would post before the show....

As for the timing...yeah, I wouldn't looked at the time stamps of the post either, and would have likely embarrassed my self if I hadn't been the one to start this mess.... ;)

Most of the tail section survivors have been killed, so whoever was on the radio with Boone could have been killed. And since the radio conversation was only a few seconds long, the tail section survivors could have thought that it was echo, or even that it was the others. it seems like the others have taken a heavy toll on the tail section bunch. They also mentioned that they have 'trust issues', which tells me that some of their group turned on them (possibly got infected with whatever sickness danielle and desmond mentioned) or that they were infiltrated by someone like Ethan.

Sawyer is definitely worse for wear, and I would expect that his gunshot wound is infected. It has been 3-4 days since he was shot, and his wound is not even covered. He needs to find Jack or someone else with medical experience to get it treated or he's going to be in trouble.

I meant from the hatch itself. Desmond's area had nice living quarters and electronics up the whazoo, but Anna-Lucia's group gets the shaft as it were... just thought it was interesting. The two groups have definately been living in two different worlds even on the same island.
