The Four Horsemods of the Apocolypse

Four of the moderators here have banners that resemble each of the Horsemen of the Apocolypse.

Can you guess who's who, and possibly why?

The only thing I know about all of the that stuff is what Ive read in Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett :D

Well I remember war had a sword. And I think Gabs (she has the black and white on right?) is pollution because she has a white horse, but her banner says shes determining who will win...so confused. :confused:

It's from the bible, when the world ends the four horsemen of the apocolypse will come - War, Famine, Death and Pestilence (I think that's right). The mods have banners saying that theyre each one of the four horsemen (or women) and they want us to guess which one is which and for what reason. :D

After taking the scroll from God and being worshipped by all creation (in chapter 5) the Lamb (Jesus, the Lamb of God) now opens the seven seals of the scroll to reveal its contents. The seals as with the trumpets are in a group of four, two and one. The opening of the first four seals reveal the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The opening of the first four seals is introduced by each of the four living creatures in turn. Each one of the four living creatures reveals a horseman, the first three horsemen are summed up by the fourth horsemen, 'They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth'. These are popularly known as the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The power of these horsemen is limited to a quarter, with the trumpets later it is limited to a third. The fifth seal reveals those who had been slain because of the word of God and their testimony, that is the persecuted church. The sixth seal reveals the day of the Lord, which brings the Lamb's wrath to those on the earth. The opening of the seventh seal reveals silence. The seven seals sum up human history from the viewpoint of heaven and the church. There is war, famine and pestilence in general and on the church in particular there is persecution, then the end will come bringing terror to the world, this probably accounts for the silence of the seventh seal.

The first rider represents the lust for conquest and as such forms an integral part of the four horsemen who are all evil and are summed up by the fourth horsemen. Conquest brings with it war, famine and death. However the colour white is usually associated with good not evil, but it can indicate victory (Lenski), the rider wears the victory crown.

Yeah, I can see Gabs as a Conqueror. ;)


The rider of the second horse is War. The red color of his horse represents blood spilt on the battlefield. He carries a sword, which represents battle and fighting.

The third horseman, riding the black horse, is Famine. The black color of the third horse could be a symbol of death and famine. Its rider was holding a scale, which means scarcity of food, higher prices, and famine.

Eyes as the Third Horseman easily can represent Justice (the scales).. no matter how unfair or unjust those under her reign may feel, hers is the final word.


The fourth horseman (on the pale, or sickly horse, which may be the source of the notion of "pestilence" as a separate horseman) is explicitly named Death. The pale greenish color of the fourth horse means fear, sickness, decay, and death.

Just to add... Gabs is the "Antichrist," in that sense. The Bible can be interpreted different ways, hense all the versions of it, but the Antichrist, War, Famine/Pesilance, and Death were the ones I went with when I made the banners. It's kind of Halloweenish. lol

Personally, I think Gabs and Wags' banners are better than mine and Eyes, though I like Eyes' color combo.

I've heard that interpretation of the first rider, but it seems a little strange that Jesus Christ (the Lamb) would release the Antichrist" in the world because he's supposed to be viewed as a Savior, Healer, and Lover of Man. Seems a bit of a harsh paradox.. y'know?
