How come I can't get onto bigspaceship1.com. It never works for me. :( *cries*

any chance you (or someone from your IP) has been trying to log into the bss1 server with multiple usernames and passwords? -when i see that kinda thing in my security logs i blacklist the IP and from then on any packet from them is ignored, and not even logged.

i remeber doing that a bit overzealously in the beginning and i accidently locked a person out of their own website! it took them 2 weeks to figure out that it wasn't something with their pc even though they were the only person they knew who couldn't view the pages. the mentioned it to me and sure enough i had added their IP to the blacklist my mistake. (better safe than sorry)

or, is it that you can get there but it doesn't display properly? how does it "not work for you"?

so, a bit wary about the exact thing i mentioned above, i tried opening a telnet session (though linux rather than through the web link which might work also, but i like the linux telnet interface better).

it just asked for a username so i put in lxicon and was prepared to use my hotmail account as a password since that's what you are supposed to do when loggin into telnet with the user "annonymous"... but it didn't ask for one.


not sure if they are bots or real people... the "tech support!" messages seem to say 'hi i am a bot' to me, but who knows?

hmmm, this is interesting:

it looks like someone from the telnet server updated my bss1 log (the update at 2005-12-10 01:51:32). which means :

1) they know how to update my log. (don't ask me how, i don't need the extra traffic it would use.)

2) they wanted to mark the final change as my previous check was a few minutes earlier and there probably wouldn't have been another for a while.


very cool! anyone want to talk to them and see whats up? i have some proplems with the LXTP module i need to figure out.

seems to be back up. there are quite a few people in there asking questions and there are still mike and walt talking about lunch (and other things).

anyone in there can talk, so i't kinda hard to peg down who is just looking around. i noticed a few dice rolls which leads me to think the app is based on a MUD of some sort (man! i lost my VAX account twice for playing MUDs too much on the university mainframe way back when).

it's probably left unconfigured without any RPG elements. it just allows for a meeting place. it's well suited for it i guess. i didn't have time to start trying stuff, but help or hint might do something then try commands from the old text-based RPG games? like "look east" or "kill beastly fido" or something. heehee.

The chat is different today. It's a green screen and none of the old commands work.

Today though, if you type certain words, they come up as something different. Currently, that's making the chat really annoying because people are just sitting there typing random words to figure out what comes up different. The "red" (the text is green and the different words come up red) words are constantly changing as well.

If you're ever in there, look for Claire, Desmond (with a capital D) or 23. They seem to know more about the rooms than anyone. Although Claire is a lot like me and just trying to figure out how the room works.

I dont think this has been mentioned if it has i apologize - someone in the chat Dharma, Inc. says they were an extra on the show and is giving tons of clues like "plastic surgery" anyway, I asked about the legitimacy of the site and he said its made by someone named "Jackson" asked if it was done by abc or affiliates I think he said no,, but couldn't tell what responses were to who, probably on purpose. Thanks for making that list-- I know it must have taken a while!:coolguy: I still don't think there is any useful info coming from the chat... however... if this is the creator(s)' way of interacting with folks, then I say it's about time! We have been trying to get something out of them for so long! Now I wonder if the chat will become a permanent part of bss1 or if it will go away with the next change.

And is anyone else REALLY tired of the soldier pic?:rant: Not as tired as I was of the nuts... but it's definitely getting to me!

I haven't seen anything hidden in the corner although I've heard people talking about it? What does it look like? I guess I'll try using photoshop to see if there really is something hidden in the background, but just know, I'm not very good at that kind of thing :D

I also can't run the board in Firefox (anyone tried just plain Mozilla? I know they're the same, but they're different...if you know what I mean). I have to run it through IE which is very slow.

From what I've seen, the board tends to glitch whenever they've made a major change to the settings. Sometimes it glitches when it gets too full, but whenever I get kicked out, certain word changes are different and sometimes the board settings are different (like now instead of it saying that someone enters or is lost, it says that they washed up or drowned).

This is my first post so sorry for being a little of topic...and whatever other mistakes I make but, you guys moved this thread to theories so hear goes. I heard somewhere that the writers were loosely inspired by the movie Aliens and the book The Stand. I even heard they compared John Locke to Randall Flagg. Which I found odd because Randall Flagg is basically Satan. Last week watching the rerun of "Everbody Hates Hurly" I was reminded of this when it struck me Rose really comes off like the old black woman that leads the good side ( her name escapes me at the moment ). Maybe Jack isn't the opponent of Locke via Science vs Faith. Maybe Rose is via Good Faith vs Bad Faith. I know some have put Mr. Eko in this role but I think Rose's importance is the one thing most Lost fantics somehow overlooked.

cool, lots of things for me to look into later.. got back late last night from winnipeg on a plane that was delayed for an hour because the computer running the cabin lights & commnications was wonky and needed to be "reset a few times" -nice to know that the old [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] (the "three fingered salute") is still used to make sure our plane wouldn't fall out oif the sky!

haven't had the ability to read up on forums or see why my LXTP site had to be taken down on tuesday. i'll be working on it after work tonight and hopefull be caught up on these forums as well.

i notice the bss1 front page hasn't changed. i guess the changes have all been within the chat or after the /hansomil/intro.php link. i'm not monitoring those pages for changes as yet, and am not sure if it's worth it to set that up.

Everybody has read alreday "bigspaceship1.html", "read_interface.html" and "intro.html". They are created with "chat.swf".

I've decompiled the *.swf, and I've seen that they're words in Spanish!!!!
tapilla (+ - little cover), sonido (sound), salida (exit), empiezaloading (start-loading), and borra (delete).

In macromedia flash, is used the English for to make the font code, but you can to use same words, to define same actions, components,... (button, file, ...).

Conclusion: the flash file was wrote by a spanish or some people that it speak.

About the chat, it's authentic? I think that it's possible

kiko...one of these days I'm gonna start putting together the "master list" of words (to be updated regularly, depending..) that changes. But until somewhere, one of those get put up, you'll have to find out in bits and pieces yourself or from other sites. Some, are the same every time, like love=hate. But like, last night, there was a "quack" one. And it was so cool when I first started seeing the "Eko Echo"...now it's just annoying;) :D And yeah, I've heard that before about the morse, I think. I can't see it myself, *shrug* but I suck at Where's Waldo. :D

Oh yeah...I've been on the chat now since the second day for at least a couple hours a day. I try to go on for atleast an hour (more like a 1/2 hour, th) before work, then go on after dinner. I have gotten in a couple of interesting conversations and I enjoy them (love this stuff). But I just can't totally get all excited about this "chat". Y'all know about the "spoilers" that have been revealed, including in the chat, and on other sites. 1) A part of me is bummed now 'cuz I'm worried they're true. I read that spoiler on here tabou the Season 2 premier and it turned out to be completely true (viewer had gone to Hawaii premier). And I was so ticked that I did, where usually I'm a spoiler junkie.:D 2)I've read interviews with the writers in which they discuss how they don't like spoilers. It seems the last thing they would do is okay people to go onto a chat (that has deformed into an AOL chat FROM HELL:D ) and spill some pretty large secrets. And if secrets are spilt, it's a in a roundabout, puzzle-y type of way.

Whew. Feel like I've been typing forever there.:D

been on the chat periodically i'm about to go on now (am scullygirl). I looked at the blog that WinterBauval has (thanks so much for listing all that!) I have a few word changes to add but I have to compare the lists (I'm printing it out and will post later) also there are definitely official/moderators whatever you want to call it on the chat. Its not all run by a computer. There is a chance that the one Walt was doing it (he claimed to at first be changing the chat and then was saying weird things in all capitals and said that the others were saying things/making him say them. But whether or not it was him there is a moderator. I kept asking how to whisper (found out you have to be a character) but no one was answering me so I started saying that I was bored and the chat was sucking right then, no one was talking or anything only making word changes. So then suddenly my type started coming out as "bonk" repeated and it wouldn't let me say anything else. Thinking that whoever changed to could possibly read it i said some other things and it changed back. Then they started making me say "mulder" repeatedly (whispered like eko) which was funny so then when i could chat again i said make it say "duchovny" so i started appearing to whisper only that! During this time was when the chatroom kept having everyone type backwards (at which time Walt was able to talk forwards). Other people had changes too for awhile the whole chat said "bonk"

So anyway, thats my experience from last night. If anyone wants to come on and chat about bss1 let me know:)

Sooo....tonite was the wierdest chat nite yet. This is how it started:


I'm going to reveal my user name. I hadn't so far, because...well, I dunno why. Just cause. But....here it goes....*drum roll please* I am Coconut. *wipes brow* Whew, that secret's out.:D

In any case, I went to go onto the chat today. And I COULDN'T GET ON. It would just stay at that logon screen. So I decided to do Coconut1, you know, like the multiple Walts? Well it then told me that numbers WERE NOT ALLOWED. Ok, wierd. So I try CoCoNuT. That's when it truly gets odd. If anyone was on, you know how fustrating it was. Multiple Coconuts (same spelling and ALL!), a couple of CoCoNuT's, and one Coconut2. My screen was getting real slow and not scrolling, and all of a sudden it goes blank. Then, I get these words on the screen: "You've jumped the shark"!!!!!!!!!!....then after a few, the chat comes back. So, as you can imagine, it gets real confusing after that, what with the multiple Coconut's and all. THEN my writing get's funky, you know, the wierd accent-y writing? THEN the writing gets all backwards AND orange. I've NEVER seen that before. And THEN I start getting white asteriks (*) after every word I write. Very odd. So, as usual, there's a "walt" in here, so I ask him to help me out. He says that "the Others" are doing this to me, and they think it's funny. So I beg for his help, which he gives (now I owe him).....there's one other Coconut still in the chat (same spelling and everything) but is not saying anything anymore, thank God. Sorry this is so jumbled I'm trying to get everything down now.

THEN I get some messages from a "Syd Bristow". You see, I had gotten into a conversation with someone yesterday (who might be the same person I had talked to earlier today) about the button--how pressing it and not pressing it controls people's realities---like the black horse. Well I guess this person left me messages--bible stuff.

ROFL did you see my converstaion with my "Coco-Clone" just now? Dude, that was the wierest one yet, and it seems I've been given a mission. :D

I'm gonna try and remember some of what my clone (it's so nice to type the word and know it's not gonna get changed around!:D ) said. I answered a riddle---what runs along the beach but has no legs? A Cable. So my clone told me I'm asking the right questions and I have been, ahem (this does sound a little cheesy now, hehe:D ), chosen to "bear the light"---in other words, to get this information out. Apparently, we should be cautious of all whispers in the chat because they are The Others. It also seemed like my Coco-Clone had the ability to "bounce"--kick people out of the room. He/she said it was because 1) They mad him/her mad (heh), or 2) because they were others. However, I can't confirm this because there were a couple of people that the clone was threatening to bounce but DIDN'T. So who's to say there? But my Clone told me I have to e mail Candle using the King Cross addy to tell him about all of this. And that Snowman is basically a flunky that only knows what the doctor tells him. And to beware Lars--don't tell him anything, and don't listen to what he says.

WHEW. I don't know if this is real or not, but my neck hurts from being on the computer so long. Ok, time to email the Doctor and see if I can log back on as just regular ol' Coconut.

are you using firefox? That's the same problem I have when I use something other than IE, which sucks because IE is slow. Try logging in with InternetExplorere and it should work

Dude, it's crazy---now TONS of different ways to use "Coconut" as a screen name doesn't work. "Coconut", "CoCoNuT", "Coco", "CoCo", "Tunoco"....I had to log in as "CocoNutty" the other day:D At first I thought it was just my browser, or something along those lines....but now?:confused: It seems like too much of a coincidence to me!:D

And I don't necessarily believe I've "tapped a nerve" with the "spoiler people" that people think are trolling the chat. hmm it SHOULD work on IE, thats what the favicon.ico file was developed for and they do have it in place : http://bigspaceship1.com/favicon.ico

.... ah i see it only works when you add it to IE favorites. i had similar issues trying to get my favicon.ico file to show on mutliple browsers. this code worked for me in my html <head> section. it would probably work for BSS1. (with their own urls of course)

Hmmm... don't know for sure, Lost Mirage. I read their mod's comments, and it sounded like they hold a tighter rein on what they allow. (an aside here-- yea, Lost-Forum mods, champions of relatively free speech-- you guys are the COOLEST!!!):clap: It seems they (fuselage mods) are VERY wary of endorsing or seeming to endorse a site. Like I said, I agree with a lot of what they said. Apparently someone had cut and pasted a conversation they had with someone in the chat and as we all know it gets pretty nasty and juvenile and offensive in there. And if anyone had posted something like that in here (and they have) they would have gotten "bounced" pretty darn quick, and with that particular brand of coolness that IS Lost-Forum.

BUT the soliciting thing? I don't understand it. The Fuselage is basically like our site, except for the format/layout and topics and whatnot. And it's HUGER. But On this site we have discussions about all the "webmaze" sites (Again, our Mods rule:glomp: :bowdown: ), we have a "Nifty Websites" thread, people link to their sites in their siggys--and the 'Lage has this too. Now would this be considered avertising? Well, maybe, sure, if the BSS1 chat would be considered advertising. And they haven't done anything about those threads. BUT from reading on the thread they have done some "winter cleaning" on other threads. Threads with people who have figured out the right answers, perhaps?

I'm sure everyone knows about the conversations we've been having with "G H O S T". If not, very quickly, G H O S T started talking to me out of knowhere a couple of days ago and made it clear that he/she was someone "in the know", ie--someone "spoilerific". He/she talked about living in Hawaii and the situation with the overpopulation of sea turtles on the North Shore(which is an interesting thing, check it out). Well soon he/she was talking to a big bunch of us and struck up a pretty friendly "thing" with us. He/she also told me and some other "regulars" that one of the people who post here (won't betray your identity, ROFL:D ) was *very* close in one of his/her theories as to who G H O S T was. Well this was last nite (EST). I spend a lot of time on BSS1 chat (5-6-7 PM EST on until about midnite). Later, when all the hubub about the Copenhagen pic was discovered (Check Hanso thread for the awesomeness, everyone. Shred, you have read this?), G H O S T came back to tell us that we had done a great job (not that I did anything:D ) and that we had found out some important stuff.

That was yesterday. Now, today, the site is down and threads about it are yanked in the Fuselage? Something rotten in the state of Lost-ville, I say!:D BORK LIVES! :D

The WHOLE BSS1 thread at The Fuselage? Down. It got locked up, totally, by the mods over there(not to brag about our mods or anything;) ). Now, this was about 77 pages worth of stuff, and the guys -n- gals that posted over there were not informed, but given a post afterwards explaining why(http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=21714&page=58&highlight=Big+Spaceship+One). Now some of the reasons given I agree with, others I don't. The mod there considered TALKING about the site with repeated posts spamming an advertising a site!!! Well, in any case, before I get too "preachy" and "forumyer than thou", I will put this question out there:

Are the two related somehow? Is there a conspiracy afoot?:D

Like I said, I agree with a lot of what they said. Apparently someone had cut and pasted a conversation they had with someone in the chat and as we all know it gets pretty nasty and juvenile and offensive in there. And if anyone had posted something like that in here (and they have) they would have gotten "bounced" pretty darn quick, and with that particular brand of coolness that IS Lost-Forum.

BUT the soliciting thing? I don't understand it. The Fuselage is basically like our site, except for the format/layout and topics and whatnot. And it's HUGER. But On this site we have discussions about all the "webmaze" sites (Again, our Mods rule:glomp: :bowdown: ), we have a "Nifty Websites" thread, people link to their sites in their siggys--and the 'Lage has this too. Now would this be considered avertising? Well, maybe, sure, if the BSS1 chat would be considered advertising. And they haven't done anything about those threads. BUT from reading on the thread they have done some "winter cleaning" on other threads.

This also pisses me off because BSS1 was found from an official LOST site, right? Was is the Hanso site or something else? I forget, lol

Threads with people who have figured out the right answers, perhaps?

This pisses me off the most. If they put an insider on the chat to give us hints, they had to have known we'd talk about it, theorize, speculate, etc. ESPECIALLY because we've been on a 6 week break. :rolleyes:

Hey all... know I haven't posted here (in this thread) before but I started out posting here, became obsessed with the "webmaze" stuff, post on Lost-TV too (ok to say that here, LOL?) and have become one of the regulars on the bss1 chat. I agree that the mods over there seem to have handled this pretty harshly; the post from Todell (whom I don't know, but have heard her name mentioned in chat) was succinct and summed up the objections to this.

As for the chat itself, I really, really hope that we're not being "cut off" because of getting too close. It's not as if we're running out and telling every person in the world who watches Lost "THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING!!!" and ruining it; I know just from talking with my co-workers (who started watching in season one; I only started recently) that they know little of the *minutiae* of the show like those of us who post at fan forums do (we were talking about MR and her arrest, someone asked me who Cynthia was, I told her "Libby, the blond psychiatrist with the Tailies" and she had NO clue... LOL)

I hope this is just a temporary problem or a "cooling off" period (maybe they're making modifications to lower the amount of stupidity?? we can only hope) because I was really enjoying using the part of my brain that this chat opened for me. (Maybe I'm "evolving", LOL)

LF is not affiliated, so we get to do semi-free speech over here. I also think there is some reason they are backing down on bss1, and I expect something new will happen soon enough. Somebody somewhere is playing with us, and I think this is also part of the Fuselage closure. Remember when they said they weren't going to reveal all the web sites they control (except the canons like Hanso and OceanicAir)? I suspect this is part of that plan.

I also don't think the producers would get all nutty if someone "figured it out." I think this is another smoke screen.

I was a Mod for about 6 months at another forum and had to resign because of my "brother" Mod. But I digress). If they had a reason, well, they're the highest law in the land, so what say goes. If you don't like it, pick another forum. But that's playing devil's advocate--I don't believe in that kind of stuff, personally.

What would the the purpose of "taking down" the site--deleting the chat files and the javascript call, but not "taking down" the function to "pop up" the chat window? we skipped 18.??? i looked for .gif .jpg .swf .mpg .txt .log .php and even .lost and got 404's for all except the one redirect to the "05.mpg" (baloon pop) for any .jpg's you try to go to.
