Have any of you come across a song on the stardust site (http://www.stardust.com/index2.htm) by a singer named "Lucia Pamela" called "In the Year 2000". Weird, creepy and the sound quality is staticky.......is that Lucia name maybe a connection to Ana Lucia? The words are so simple, they're scary.

you mean the www.smartdust.com site not the stardust site, right?
Stardust site brings you diretly to the bss1 site, didnt know that too...
so you get the "in the year 2000" song always when you type something behind the /

for example www.smartdust.com/whateva

alright a little theory from my side:

what we see on the current image is a mouse on a red piece of cheese and a red dot on top with a larger white dot next to it...

so mice are often used in experiment for testing certain things, for example in the Skinner box experiments, which were also connected to Lost ( wasnt that in the orientation movie?)
Well anyway, then you got the cheese there to decoy the mouse.
the red dot which which was there first, could be the observer, especially when you see where the image links to at the moment ( www.heavens-above.com <--- about satellites)

So at the moment the mouse is made out of the haeckel illustration and he was also an observer, who took a closer look at animals/lifeforms and painted them.

I also remember one episode where there was a flashback from Locke, where he worked in a toy shop and built this mouse trap game and showed it to the kid... (pretty loose connection)

Well yeah thats mostly it... its pretty unstructured and I m sorry for my poor englisch hehe

Maybe you got some ideas...

go to sky chart ... type in 0 for both hour and minutes:
you get ursa minor...
according to that polaris is the midnight star...

google polaris and you get this...
" Lamdba Ursae Minoris is the reddish star up and to the right of Polaris" - http://www.astro.uiuc.edu/~kaler/sow/polaris.html
then a link to the star - http://www.astro.uiuc.edu/~kaler/sow/lambdaumi.html

maybe the star is on the other side due to the lovely "lost" island being in the opposite hemisphere??

-edit-

i looked at ursa minor and this little story came up

"Artemis, the moon goddess, was followed by a band of beautiful nymphs, all sworn to a vow of chastity. One of the most lovely of these was Callisto. She was espied by Zeus, a god with a particular fondness for mortal women, on one of his many visits to earth. Disguising himself as Apollo, brother of Artemis, he overcame any scruples Callisto may have had and they became lovers. Eventually, Callisto was delivered of a son, and he was named Arcas (from the Greek arktos or "bear"). Knowing that Artemis would be furious with Callisto for breaking her vow, and more especially to shield her from the wrath of his wife, Zeus changed his unfortunate lover into a bear. She was forced into a lonely exile, roaming the forests and hiding from human hunters. At the same time, she was unable to form any close friendships with the animals because she still possessed human feelings. Many years later, her now fully-grown son Arcas was hunting in the woods when he saw a great bear which was, in fact, his own mother. As he lifted his bow and arrow to shoot her, Zeus quickly intervened, and changed Arcas into a little bear so that he immediately recognised his mother. The story has a happy ending as, lonely no more, Callisto and her son were transported to the heavens, thereafter to be known as the Ursa Major and Ursa Minor"

ok, lets see. where to start....

that would be floating under the north pole ice caps. there is no land at the north pole unlike the south pole.

especially since the actual phrase was 2fen06 (with a zero, not a letter o)
actually it is 2FENO6 (letter o) that's copied text from the flash at
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bss1.dated/2005-10-10_18.02.00/

Um, what exactly is this site, is it an official one?
the quick version :
* the text "bigpsaceship1.com" was displayed on the secure version of thehansofoundation.org from sometime before Oct 7th until Oct 17th when the secure site started redirecting the the normal site.
* bigspaceship1.com (or bss1 for short) has been updated at least 50 times since then with different morse code messages in the title. there have been odd sped up version of songs some from LOST some not, but all (i think) consistant with what could have been in the hatch circa 1980. the images used range from stock optical illusions to images with hidden data in the colour palettes to composites made up of bits from previous images.
* to my knowledge, no one has proved bss1 to be puposefully linked from thehansofoundation.org nor have i seen any proof that it's just a fake. in fact, bss1 has never explained anything it has had up previously. it just keeps changing. and we keep trying to figure it out.

Why is this thread in the spoiler section?
when we are trying to link what this change or that change at bss1 has to do with LOST we undoubtedly reveal spoilers in our posts.

I'm wondering if, at the very least, we could go through and prune the nonessential posts such as "OMG where are you?"
doesn't bother me.

I looked back a bit and didn't see anything about this, but it could be posted:

Here is stuff about Gemini (the constellation on the hevans page):

Take a look at this (I'm still looking up the star next to Jupiter):
http://www.southernskyphoto.com/constellations/gemini.htm

and then this (notice the swan refrence)...

"It was the Romans who referred to the stars as Castor and Pollux; the names by which they are known today. In myth they are the twin Sons of Leda, born in an egg after Jupiter seduced her disguised as a swan. The seduction took place on the night of her wedding to the King of Sparta. Thus the twins were spawned by different fathers: Castor by a king, and Pollux by a god. Both were great warriors but Castor was renown for his skill in horsemanship (his name has been translated as 'horseman') and his talent for the arts, music and sciences, whilst Pollux was blessed with immortality, powerful strength and ferocity."
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/gemini_myth.html

Go with that and I'll edit this post if I find more.....

Again sorry for reposting if this is already here..

Found this in the code of Mr. Clucks website:

"This site is not created by ABC or Touchstone. As a former writer for the show 'LOST' I have inside knowledge that serious fans may want to have. That would be a great idea if people were reading the first few pages, but from the stuff I see here, it looks like people are reading the current page only or just the last few pages. I think that's why we keep seeing the WTF posts. Wonder if the mods can do a pop-up when someone clicks on this thread (one that could be disabled after reading the first time) that explains what is going on here...your primer. That way noobs would be exposed to it at least. No idea if it's possible though!

or maybe it's another reference to mars (god of war) but the plural form would sugest a constellation and mars can't be part of a constelation.

What I don't understand is how the files are referred or why. If you change the image to jpg
http://bigspaceship1.com/images/8.jpg
if refers you to the mpeg file, if you change it to "mpg" you get the mp3 file then other files either go to the mp3 or mpg. That's strange to me. I've been missing updates the last photo I had seen was 4.gif!

over the weekend bss1 implemented some http redirects into the access rules:

any 404 errors (file not found) are redirected to http://www.ieattapes.com/library/Lucia%20Pamela%20-%20In%20the%20Year%202000.mp3
(eg http://bigspaceship1.com/images/x )

if you try going directly to a flash file from a link that's not bss1 you get
http://www.shimadzu.co.jp/products/test/products/video/movie/05.mpg
(eg http://bigspaceship1.com/images/6.swf )
* same with .jpg

denied directory listings are redirected to:
http://www.ieattapes.com/library/Safety%20Dance.mp3
(eg http://bigspaceship1.com/images/ )

pretty much these keep people from poking around behind the website. if you want a copy of a media file (.gif, .jpg or .swf) and it's on the current page. use netscape ot firefox's "view page info" option, then go to the media tab select the item and save it to another directory.

--

well nothing in the palette or headers. i think the animation makes that harder to incorporate since most gif animation programs will reshuffle the palette to best suit all the frames of animation.

* there are 12 frames of animation (the full image, then 11 versions of the cheese with different dithers)

* there are no comments added to the file that i can see with ulead gif animator 2

--edit--

i put together an animated gif of all the mouse & cheese images that have been used to see if the "stars" are moving from pic to pic

I knew the moon was made of cheese - and since it's Google, it must be true!!

Anyway, is it entirely possible that the "creater" of the bss1 site is just trying to push the envelope just a bit father than ABC is with their websites? I mean, we've not really having trouble finding out the "secret" stuff on the Hanso site or on oceanicflight815.com. Maybe they (bss1) are trying to take it a step farther. Might backfire, though if it goes too far... However, we are still talking about it & trying to figure it out - maybe it's working.................:D

It would make more sense if the white circle were the moon 'cos at a certain time of the year you can see Mars clearly beside the moon.

Is it just me or does it look like something is in the animated cheese? Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

Is it just me or does it look like something is in the animated cheese? Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

i don't know if it's the same, but I see 'dancing' red circles, the same size of the cheese 'holes'. It's not real, as they are not in the individual frames nor are they the result of a clever overlay of dithers, or they would repeat themselves in constant positions, whereas they appear to be randomly placed. I think they are visual artifacts/optical illusions related to image persistence or peripheral vision phenomena (kinda like this http://www.psy.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/Bergene.html ). Or, I'm just crazy.

Hey! Catchy tune! Kind of a nice change from the mysterious pictures. The connection here seems obvious-- Dharma Initiative projects and the song about ESP.

Lost Mirage
11-16-2005, 10:07 PM
...yeah, seems a little too obvious. Maybe I'm getting spoiled here, but a song about ESP seems like a re-directed page to something about polar bears or weather....

Maybe this is a filler for something new? It doesn't have any of the usual traits, the most obvious being the morse.

yeah the html at the jesusoftheweek site is:

href=”http://www.heavenlyimages.com”

those are close-quotes not normal quotes ( ” as opposed to " )
so the browser doesn't recognise them as quotes and thinks you want to link to :

the "%E2%80%9D" is the html escape chars for the close-quotes

" I was doing some digging (pun intended) on the hansofoundation domain and it's web server. The IP address that resolves to www.thehansofoundation.org is 66.132.217.121. If you do a reverse DNS lookup on that IP address (Windows users can do thing by typing "ping -a 66.132.217.121") then you find out that the reverse DNS for that IP resolves to a host name called "bigspaceship1.com"

Notice the music on the site is from the first ep and the morse code in the title

i'm not sure. there hasn't been much (or anything?) about house addresses in the show. i just pointed it out because it might make sense later. i'm not sure if it's a house address or some sort of sign affixed to the brick wall. it could just be a piece of paper taped to a wall and they took a pic of it for original content.

if it starts to be a theme we can look deeper.

the 23 does look like a civic # from a house. I googled around but couldn't locate the source.

in the most recent set of images there are two underlying themes:

astronomy theme: star related morse-code, part of the images and some of the links

numbers theme:

4 - flying mobula is 4th image of page
8 - nigeria airways bag is 8th image of its page
15 - ? Possible: 1915 (WWI) was the first time gas were extensively used as weapons (and therefore gas masks were used as well). I admit this is a bit weak. Does anyone know if it was a WWI mask, or the source of image?
16 - Haekel's jellyfish is from 16th illustrative table
23 - current animated #23
42 - ? Possible: the mouse/cheese image series. A mouse image with with an embedded # 42 was used in an earlier bss1 page (IIRC) and/or connection with the mice/42 motif in The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
108 - Kim Il Sung image was from page 108 of that website

if the images are assigned correctly, the numbers theme is complete and he/she might move on to something different

I know that this picture hasn't been here for a while, but I think I may have something related to it. On the official LOST website (www.oceanicflight815.com) there is an "Explore" section. It shows a seres of video clips. When each clip is done, a dot shows up. This makes me think that you have to click the dots to make the shape of a constellation. Its just a theory, but it seems possible.

EDIT

Out of curiosity and boredom, I went to www.bigspaceship2.com . Before it was completely loaded, in the corner of Firefox it said "Transferring data from www.oceanicflight815.com"

ok i found out about the song - didn't actually find the file though, but it seems to be by Henry Purcell. (On one page it said words were by anonymous, another said it was arranged by someone else) anyway, the song is called "I'll Sail Upon the Dog Star" and these are the lyrics:

I'll sail upon the Dog Star,
And then pursue the morning,
I'll chase the moon 'till it be noon,
But I'll make her leave her horning.

I'll climb the frosty mountain,
And there I'll coin the weather;
I'll tear the rainbow from the sky,
And tie both ends together.

The starts pluck from their orbs, too,
And crowd them in my budget!
And whether I'm a roaring boy,
Let all the nations judge it.

There are 2 sites I found so far you can check if you want:
http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/get_text.html?TextId=16129
http://www.gordonjacob.com/w_ill_sail.html

How did I find it? I tried typing in different pieces of what I could understand of the rest of the lyrics - i thought it said i'll sing upon the dogstar lol

Could darkstone = Black Rock?

The song has to do with sailing...

But how lightstone might translate in Lost terms?

Also backgammon?

*Edit*

from wikipedia:

Black and white
The colors black and white, which traditionally reflect good or positive forces versus evil or negative forces, have been featured a number of times, particularly in regards to John Locke. In "Pilot", Locke shows Walt a black and a white backgammon piece and says, "two players, two sides, one is light, one is dark." In "House of the Rising Sun", Jack finds a pouch on a pair of mummified corpses, nicknamed "Adam and Eve" by the survivors, containing one white stone and one black stone, which he then hides from Locke. In the opening sequence of "Raised by Another", Claire has a nightmare in which Locke has one black eyeball and one white eyeball. The black-and-white logo of The Dharma Initiative appears on various surfaces in the hatch compound; the same symbol appears on the labels of all the food in a storage room, and on the tail of a shark that circles Michael and Sawyer.

i like the backgammon idea! there could be something to that.

"Locke: Backgammon is the oldest game in the world. Archaeologists found sets when they excavated the ruins of Ancient Mesopotamia. Five thousand years old. That's older than Jesus Christ.

Walt: Did they have dice and stuff?

Locke: Mmm. But theirs weren't made of plastic. Their dice were made of bones.

Walt: Cool.

Locke: Two players. Two sides. One is light; one is dark.

Locke: Walt ... Do you want to know a secret?"

Okay, so this is the creepiest picture by far, imo. :worry: I got CHILLS when I saw it.
Here are the lyrics to the song-- could easily refer to Shannon. Let the speculation begin!

Hot Child In The City
Nick Gilder

Danger in the shape of something wild
Stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child
No one knows who she is or what her name is
I don't know where she came from or what her game is
Hot child in the city
Hot child in the city
Runnin' wild and looking pretty
Hot child in the city
So young to be loose and on her own
Young boys, they all want to take her home
And when she comes downtown
The boys all stop and stare
When she comes downtown
She walks like she just don't care, yeah
Hot child in the city
Hot child in the city
Runnin' wild and looking pretty
Yeah
Hot child in the city
Come on down to my place, baby
We'll talk about love
Come on down to my place, woman
We'll make love
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
She's kinda dangerous
(Hot child in the city)
Young child
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Young child, runnin' wild
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)

Hey Lex are you monitoring Oceanic Air as well? I haven't seen any updates there in a very long time.
Laters,

the text in the barrel is a text layer in flash, not part of the image. you can set whether a text or label is editable or not in flash. that must have been left as editable. i've made similar mistakes with kiosk software, you don't notice it's like that until someone types stuff into it.
* makes for a cool effect though in this aplication. it gives the barrel some depth. and kinda makes you not want to poke your mouse (finger) in there.
** oh and the text was done in white font on white bg.

i slowed the music down and it sounds close to the version on on the album "Nick Gilder City Nights". the slow down isn't perfect but it helps when listening.
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bigspaceship1.com.hot.child.in.the.city.slow.mp3
* Nick Gilder is canadian like ethan and nathan said they were.

the image only had one palette entry that wasn't black. it was transparent rather than white. here it is on a black bg:
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bigspaceship1.com.2FENO6.down.the.barrel.of.a.gun. black.bg.html
and here on red:
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bigspaceship1.com.2FENO6.down.the.barrel.of.a.gun. red.bg.html
* this is similar to the polar bear / scorpion gif from before.

as for references: hmmm...

the 2FENO6 is placed inside the barrel as though it is a solid thing. so it might not be a password or some other intangible idea. i still have my ideas pegged on this :
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/user.submitted.archive/khonshu.2FENO6.jpg
but it doesn't exist in the real world as far as i know. but in the LOST universe?

the objext id is simply "child", the morse "whitelab". i guess you could tie the whole thing together and say it represents a child being kidnapped at gunpoint for scientific experiments? <- walt or "turnip head" being kidnapped at gunpoint by the degroots? (sp?)

This has nothing to do with the molecule 2FeNO6. The Fe stands for iron, N is nitrogen and O is oxygen. FENO stands for fractional exhaled nitric oxide. Also the Pubmed site is a standard scientific literature database and the site with the article is also perfectly normal. No way Lost can have anything to do with this. You don't just create a site on Pubmed or on the website of a journal. You first need to publish an article based on a REAL study. Believe me I know;)

i think Hunter Maxin was refering to the reactions some posters got when posting stuff that was mentioned 20 pages ago (or sometimes 2 pages ago). it's a fair gripe, but on the other hand, we can't be reposting stuff over and over, or the thread wil get even longer.

best bet: if you see a post like that - ignore it. we've now added 3 more posts that people won't want to read through. if we ignore anything offtopic (especially if it gets your hackels up) we'll be better off in the long run.

--edit-- (on topic)

since bss1 started messing with redirects of 404 errors and various non-local link redirects, i've noticed that when i download the .swf files for my archive they don't get the date of the time of the download they get a date prior to that. it could be the real modification time of the file on the server!

eg:
Nov 19 13:33 ./2005-11-19_13.50.10/images/10.swf
Nov 21 21:51 ./2005-11-21_22.02.35/images/11.swf

notice that the date of the file (listed first) doesn't match the name of the directory that was created when the file was downloaded? i even had a private message from someone who noticed the discrepancy with 10.swf in the symlinked versions of the archived files : http://lxicon.perception.net/images/
* i need them in /images/ for the html to display correctly at http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bss1.dated/

i don't think i'll change the times in my logs, because the file may have inhertied it's modification time from when it was created and kept that time when it was uploaded to the webserver at bss1.

the time that it was uploaded to the server (with the new html) could have been any time between the the modification time of the .swf file and when i first noticed it and logged the change.

* i'm not sure if this helps at all, but new data about how bss1 works is not easy to come by.

Hi guys,

I've been following this thread anonymously from the start. I just hate forum registrations, but I finally decided to register and post this message ;)

Actually, this is directed to lxicon and the other BSS1 collectors - you can easily circumvent their .htaccess stuff. The reason why you can't access the files is because of the lacking HTTP_REFERER field. For the less tech-savvy, when you click on a link, or a webpage requests some images (or Flash, or whatever), the server has information on where the request came from. So, in this case, if the webpage at BSS1 wants to load a Flash file, the server knows that the request came from the page itself and is legal. If you want to access it directly, the above mentioned field is empty, and the server forbids you from accessing the resource.

What you need is wget, or a shell for it, or a suitable clone.

See here: http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/wget.html
And here: http://xoomer.virgilio.it/hherold/

And what you want is to set the HTTP_REFERER field to "http://bigspaceship1.com", and possibly the USER_AGENT field to mimic some popular browser, in case they decide to disallow wget from working. That's accomplished with --referer and --user-agent command line options respectively. I don't know if the available GUI's allow a more friendly way of setting that information, but I presume they do.

So, to cut a long story short, this thing will grab an entire copy of the BSS1 website without much difficulty. No more messing around saving data that was cached by the browser. It's all there in one go.

OK, that was it, I'll go back to my silent, lurking mode now ;)

lxicon
11-23-2005, 02:28 PM
there are lots of tricks in that realm of thought. when the .htaccess stuff started going into effect the other week, i found that as i described a behaviour on this thread, the behaviour would chnage fairly soon afterwards. i don't think it's a suprise that the bss1 people monitor the these forums (the /refer/ page would show them which forums are linking to bss1)

so, yeah there are ways around most things, but i try to keep my secrets to myself if they seem to get "fixed" after i mention them.

using the "page info" and saving from the cache was a suggestion i made that most people with a good browser (sorry IE people) can do without downloading website copiers like WinHTTrack or using lib-www perl modules, etc. it's a sure fire way to grab content that bss1 can't do anything about without making the page unviewable to everyone.

* in fact, some firewall programs will remove the http referer from your web requests for you, and that would certainly break bss1 as it is now.

Hullo!

I've been watching bss1 for ages but i figured i aught to get involved and put my anal nature to good use (or relative good use). So a mixture of trawling though old threads and outright ripping off lxicon :D i started collecting what useful scraps were lying around and put them on http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Bigspaceship1.

Doing my own legwork instead of relying on complete theft, i probably revisited a lot of well trodden paths and indeed many discoveries i was chuffed i'd discovered i later found out were yesterday's news, however, i did find a few things which (to my knowledge) arent documented.

first off: the site redirected to ipodnews.com twice for short periods of time. No one seemed to pick up that iPodNews.com is hosted on the same IP as bigspaceship1.com (as is smartdust.com). It's a completely automated site running off RSS feeds from other gadget sites and apple's own top10 feed to make it seem legit. It's a compelte fake and runs on its own.

secondly: the only content of any note is the email address "robots@ipodnews.com". the "about" text says to 'feed the robots' i.e. email them. has anyone done so? I've emailed but havent recieved a reply.

thirdly: the security certificate for bigspaceship1.com has an email address on it too "robots@bigspaceship1.com". I'm guessing, since theyre the same domain, its the same inbox so has anyone written to the robots?

Like i said, i'm trying to explore a few more angles and start tying together a few patterns as best as i can. If anyone would like to contribute to my wiki entry and plug a hole or two, please do. i'll try and be a bit more active on this thread now that i'm fully up to speed.

Cheers.

ahh! so you were the one downloading everything, in order, from the archive the other day. heehee i was wondering who that was. -no worries-

glad you joined the effort!

first off: the site redirected to ipodnews.com twice for short periods of time...
there used to be a fake banner ad on ipodnews.com for a sponsor "narvik mines" that was my clue that it was from the same people.
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/narvikmines.gif

secondly: the only content of any note is the email address "robots@ipodnews.com".
robots.txt in the root of any website is used for web crawlers to indicate directories you don't want to be crawled. eg : http://lxicon.perception.net/robots.txt
ipodnew.com just has an email interface for it (it seems) but i haven't actually emailed it. i know others have and i haven't heard any reports of what replies they got back, if any.

hehe

i thought they were a bit too obvious to have been missed but i wanted to check, it seems like the ipodnews.com "about" section is asking for people to email them though. if it was solely for the purpose of keeping the search engines out of the wrong bits, it would make more sense to keep that away from eyes as well.

since the email addy for robots has appeared twice, once hidden away and one right in plain view, it might be that the addy was too well hidden and people missed it the first time round so they hid it in under people's noses

I'd like to believe that anyway, puzzles are only fun when you can find some way to solve them and since solving requires interacting...

i was thinking about the incarnation of bss1 with the nigerian airways luggage bag with the hidden target over it. eko/adebisi (still can't stop thinking of eko as adebisi) is nigerian. there just may be something to "targeting" eko. could he have caused the oceanic 815 crash? or be in cahoots with the Others via the drug plane? he seems to have a bit of guilt about something. hmmm.

the bss1 incarnation:
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bss1.dated/2005-11-09_20.44.14/

the image with a greyscale palette to show the target:
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bigspaceship1.com.airline.bag.greyscale.palette.im ages.2.gif

also there was the corrupted version of that image with the ascii text "beware" inserted into the binary data:
http://lxicon.perception.net/lost/bigspaceship1.com.airline.bag.corrupted.images.2.g if

-also, i've heard that eko's club is going to be an important theme in coming episodes.

Let's see onthe 19th we were given DarkStoneLightStone in Morse Code, could that have eluded to Locke and Eko finally meeting?

We were also given crosshairs and then Shannon died.

These would be pretty good clues/hints except that just about anyone could read these in the spoiler section and we have yet to see if the Narvik Iron Mine thing comes to pass... I guess that more than anything would make me a true believer in BSS1.

then i dropped them into my favorite text editor (TextPad v3.2.5 -the newer versions got all bloated with features and hogged memory *sigh*)

** this is how astonomers find comets! they flip back and forth between exposers and the changes cause by fast moving comets pop out. the brain is wired for this kinda thing!

so back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, if no changes are seen, page down on both files and repeat until you see a change. pretty simple actually.

ok here goes (there IS a payoff btw) there are some special characters in here so i won't be able to edit this post for spelling mistakes... so bear with me if there are (pun intended)

no data in the 14.gif but the link is to an image with a (russian?) word on it. i'm not sure how to put those characters in to a language translator site.. maybe i'll look for a list of russian characters that i can copy/paste from, but i have some things to do first. if anyone reads russian, please post what it says.

thanks

--edit--

the morse in the page title is from an old children's song (it has hand clapping steps to go along).. i forget the whole thing, but this is the start as i recall:

mama's little baby loves shortnin' shortnin'
mama's little baby loves shortnin' bread

mama's little baby loves shortnin' shortnin'
mama's little baby loves shortnin' bread

two little children, lying in bead
one was sick and the other was dead
called the doctor, the doctor said
FEED THOSE CHILDREN ON SHORTNIN' BREAD!

(repeat ad nausum until your parents tell you to go outside and play)

html changed again, an image title was added to the <img> tag

title="katharos"

first google link on searching that word was :
http://www.katharos.fi/

hmm maybe a new narvik? i DO have to get some work done tonight (or maybe i'll take a drink and catch no sleep?) so i'll check back later.

have fun!

--edit--

uhm, sorry for the apparent triple post, but there was another post in the middle there but it's been deleted. technically it was only a double post for the second bss1 change (#1602 to #1603)

Funny that the 3rd Google Search for Katharos is:
"Katharos - Greek Lexicon -
The Greek Lexicon is based on Thayer's and Smith's Bible Dictionary plus others."

ACK!!! He's one of THEM!!! ;)

heh, just finnished checking some other threads (instead of doing the work i'm supposed to be doing)

a couple ideas on TWP:
from Archaeologist:
http://francoib.chez-alice.fr/alfagrec/alf2kath.gif
It's a string of 7 Greek letters:
Kappa Alpha Theta Alpha Rho Sigma Zeta that translates roughly to Katharsz or...
Catharsis

from Max Criden
BigSpaceship1 has changed. It's now a picture of four syringes, and the title Katharos, which is Greek for "purified."

* noone else seems to have seen the corrupted image. did anyone here get a copy so you don't think i'm crazy?

Apollo being the god of religious healing would give those guilty of murder and other immoral deeds a ritual purification. Sacred to Apollo are the swan (one legend says that Apollo flew on the back of a swan to the land of the Hyperboreans, he would spend the winter months among them), the wolf and the dolphin.

Any thoughts? Sorry if it was posted I didnt see it..
sorry I also found this:

Looks like BSS1 has updated with a baby names search for "katharos". If you click the syringes now, you will be taken to a result of the search...

jmccreddie
11-25-2005, 12:53 PM
The link that the suringes take you to has now changed to a babynames site, "kathros" is up, pure, source from catherine or katherine. Hmmmm i wonder if this is to do with kate. Obviously sumthing to do with the up and coming episode, that is centered around kate.

pimpinmidget
11-25-2005, 01:20 PM

heehee, looks like AliCat and jmccreddie found the change at the exact same time! -"Holy coincidences batman!"

i hadn't put the "katharos" = "kate" thing together, but yeah with the new baby names hint, that seems to make a lot of sense.

so, in addition to a possible link to kate we have:

4 syringes : desmond's injections?

3 children, 2 sick, 1 dead: walt and the "tailie kids" ?

hmmm. plenty to think about!

--edit--

oh, pimpinmidget : the last 14 changes have used 1-14 .gif or .swf i have them in the archive and symlinked to /images/ so my archived html wont break:
http://lxicon.perception.net/images/

* there are also some .htaccess redirects if you try linking to a .swf or .jpg file from outside bss1 and other redirects for file not found errors and denied access directories. they went into effect last weekend.

Apollo invented IT and then IT became HER and then SHE followed the Smart Dust..

Are you ready to wonder now?

Apollo's attributes include the bow and arrows, on his head a laurel crown, and the cithara (or lyre) and plectrum. But his most famous attribute is the tripod, the symbol of his prophetic powers.

I already mentioned the Oracle at Delphi and her inhailing Hallucinagenic Vapors(SMART DUST). My Answers Somewhat fits Your VAGUE CLUES, so unless you are ready to talk about WTF you are going on about; validate or non-validate my answers; tell us who you think you are giving clues about WHAT, we don't know; you can consider your self ignored.

This site is about FINDING ANSWERS! Not following more Clues by some random Poster who may or may not know WTF he/she is talking about!
Thanks but no thanks.

apollo invented boxing

"Boxing
In 688, boxing, a sport familiar from Patroclus' funeral games, was added. According to myth, Apollo invented it to kill Phorbas, a man who had been forcing travelers to Delphi through Phocis to fight him to the death.

The original equipment of boxing were oxhide straps called himantes wrapped around the hand. By the fourth century, gloves replaced himantes. Hitting the opponent's face proved the most effective technique."

I think I have found a better explaination.....
Haloperidol (ha-loe-PER-i-dole) is used to treat nervous, mental, and emotional conditions. It is also used to control the symptoms of Tourette's disorder. Haloperidol may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. :D

i haven't seen it corrupted. did you save a copy?

all three chnages to the html that used 14.gif have used the same 14.gif (modified "Nov 24 23:52" md5sum : a6847b53b62792ab6d575d27e7a9e1c7) and thats still the same file i'm getting now.

if you did save it, i'd like to see it. have you been able to find any text in the image?

on and Haloperidol i don't really care for your "Welcome to wonderland" it seems off topic for this thread. you could probably post those comments in any thread in this forum and they'd make the same amount of sense. so i'll just think about http://thisiswonderland.com/ because it's a much better show. Hey, it just occurs to me... what if the morse code "children" rhyme doesn't have to do with the kids the Others took at all? If you think about it, Sawyer could be considered "'most dead"; maybe the "sick" ones are Ana Lucia and Sayid? They're the ones who claim to be dead...

Dunno, it was just a thought.

Helpful hint: at the top of the thread (just under the page pages) there is a button for "Search this thread." You can double check to see if anyone has posted the latest in the bss1 adventure. This thread is practically a forum in itself, and you really do need to search.

It is not random...

In the name of science, The Children were being taken - does this interest you? Does it sound familiar?

SEARCH for the "Northern Lights" and remember that not all compasses point North - some compasses point THE SMART DUST ... and some are made of gold!

You keep referencing to The Dark Materials...which is parallel universes based on the alternative outcome, example flip a coin, you get heads, in the alternate universe you get tails.

Anyways...I hope Lost doesn't go into that direction...I'd like the reasoning to be corporate/science geeks studying them or a divine intervention rather than an Alternate Universe...the other two seem more believable...even when they are both sort of preposterious.

His Dark Materials is a trilogy (fantasy) by a guy named Pullman, he refers to the name Lyra, which is also a constellation, which is what I believe Hal is referring to. Cygna=swan, Lyra=lyre, etc.

Just to refresh memory; bss1 surfaced when someone tried a secure server connection to the official canon site Hanso Foundation. The link was just printed on the page. The discussion is; since the site was hinted on an official ABC web page, it can be a somewhat official site itself, or some webmaster trying to give us hints. But some say that since there are no ABC legal articles (they are well placed on official sites) not to take bss1 seriously.

@zuki: Chill dude.. You look tense.. Or.. Can he be the? Confess! Don't make me call Sayid! :D

Just to refresh memory; bss1 surfaced when someone tried a secure server connection to the official canon site Hanso Foundation.:) You are correct and by us nosing around where we shouldn't be, ABC or the writers don't need privacy statements or anything, because They never said it was an official site or led us to believe it was official. We just followed the bread crumbs of our own accord and we have the Choice as to whether to believe in it or not. As Locke puts it, it's a matter of Faith.
I'd say it is Officially Un-Official???

That's what I think anyways
