yeah the arrow logo was out by that point (seen when the tailies entered the station with jin, mike & sawyer) - the rest was probably made up. it's a nice piece of editing though. someone put some effort into it, which is always cool.

if the file was a .txt file then a normal text page would format as it looks in the document but because it's a .php (text/html) type file the text will display but line returns or multiple spaces are ignored. ...but with only one line of text that hardly matters.

Here is the true story of BSS1. Following a link on TWOP that some had discovered that the secure server of the thehansofoundation.org pointed to a page that contained plain text: bigspaceship1.com. I saw this, and tried to go there - no dice. So I looked it up - and no one owned that domain, so I picked it up. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, and no idea how swarmed it would get. Why the text from the secure server was there, I have no idea. Did they *want* someone to take it over and see what happened? Maybe. Was I given any sort of inside information? Maybe. Am I sorry that thousands of people harrassed the chicken farm lab 800 number? No. What about the people in Paris looking for a Rodent Revolution meeting by the Crazy Horse (which is a strip club)? That was pretty funny, actually, and that was when I realized how big it had gotten. Are any of the ARGs real? More later...

We get some answers about BSS1. Thanks Matthew for the ride! I'll never forget when I first logged onto BSS1 after reading about it on aintitcoolnews.com and seeing the gas mask with the music playing, I was totally creeped out! That moment was pretty cool.

I can't wait to hear more about it on your blog. I'd like to know how you found all those obscure websites and photos all associated with the numbers and having some obscure connection with the show, such as the polar bears on the boat.

I'm guessing you guys haven't been reading lost-tv forum. If you read the last few pages it discusses what is going on. Long story short, after BSS1 had the chat, ppl from bigspaceship.com (this is the site hanso was originally supposed to go to with no 1) decided that they could use the chat to further their webmaze so they started chatting there as Walt, etc. and giving clues. They even faked kicking ppl out so ppl would think they had mod powers, etc. Alot of this was explained at Adam (who ran the webmaze) blog but has been taken off. All of what he posted was made up from his story/theories including what was at borkovision. They had no script pages and damon never came to my chat. I know it sucks but it was still fun for the ride, just was an unofficial ARG. Evidently though the stuff that actually appeared on bss1 was matthew's doing (23 on the chat) up until the information that was leaked. So the info was coming from different sources. That's how I understand it. For a better explaination read the last bit of BSS1 thread at lost-tv.com. Either way, please dont let this be a deterrent in coming to my bork chat. It was originally meant for fans of lost and is still a lot of fun. And just so you all know no one at the chat or anything new any of this until Adam confessed - everyone was duped including Truffula. Some people are still very sore about this subject, just so you know.

I would like a seperate thread for Bork, however, who's to say at this point if anything will be there other than a basic Lost chat (ie, no OSM stuff). So you cant say if it'll be a basic "social chat" thread...and I dont know if we really need another discussion on "social chat" stuff. :D

i vote for closing this thread and archiving it, bss1 is not lost affiliated by any means, admitted by the owner of the site Matt Bardram. He had fun putting a chat up and is done. Thats the end of it. as for a bork chat thread...as a mod over there (TI) i can honsetly say, its really just a lost fan chat site now that the webmaze was debunked, you can start a thread for it if ya want, but i doubt much posting would be on there....maybe for some announcements or something...i dont know how many of you from this paticular forum go there. Lost Mirage, and Happyface, connor and chaz....thats all i recognize....just my 2 cents

YES that is just my opinion, no facts here, so lets not get into issues about that. Why wasn't this thread that into the whole "webmaze" thing? Quite simply because people here didn't care. They were interested in the begining when BSS1 was changing images and sounds, and somewhat with the chat. But when it closed and Bork evolved (and damn I bow down and kiss Scully's feet for that:bowdown:)---well, the webmazer's (Lost-TV) believed in the connection from BSS1 to Bork (Adam), but I didn't. And I dont think enough people did here to warrant a conversation. Not to mention this thread was very fast becoming social talk, and that's not what the thread was for(and DAMN it is hard for me not to digress and talk about the "social threads" in the shipper forums and why I dont think that's fair. BUT I will abstain. :D). Maybe Lost-TV can afford that kind of stuff, I dont know, I dont know what the set up is there. But here, it's generally agreed that posts should try to remain on topic and be more than a sentence (OMG New clue on MySpace!!!!!). Sorry TI, you know I love you a whole helluva lot, but even we gotta disagree sometime. I just think it's unfair of you to say that THEIR BSS1 thread is cooler than ours. Yep, I want your opinions, no matter from whom. This thread is important in LF history, and whether it stays up or goes into the Hall of Fame, it will remain in some form here. It's a history of the webmaze phenomenon.

You know, I think there is something profound and important in the whole webmaze thing. It represents something new in television, and it gives a peek into the future and what interactive TV can be. I don't much care if it's all canon or some guy with too much time on his hands. I'm the disinterested obserber!:)

And yeah, I agree on the coolness on what seems to be taking place with Lost and the Internet. ARGs and tie-ins WITH the 'net are nothing new, but I do believe the whole tv/internet thing is fairly new (correct me if I'm wrong on this, I think the only other show to do that was the short lived Push, Arizona one....I know there have been things with Nip/Tuck and I think with CSI too? I dunno, I cant be bothered enuff to go look. But I digress (rather well)....). It's interesting because it's uncharted waters, I think. A tv programs plots are changing week to week--the mythos is always growing. So how does a webmaze/ARG/Interactivity keep up? Well we'll see. :D

And as for this thread, chit chat, and Bork, this is the thing. Yes Bork is utilized for webmaze chatter, right now it's mostly OWA. BUT that might not always be, and we might have seperate threads for those particular games. So now that BSS1 seems to well, have died, is this thread, no matter how loved, relevant any more? Should it just evolve into a Bork chat social thread, or should we make a sepearate thread for that? (Risking Shred's standing in the Mod community, hehe :D) I dont wanna see this thread go down, but I'm kinda lost as what to do here, maybe we can let this just naturally disolve into a Bork chat thing.

It at least sounds like BSS1 is starting to do something a little diffrerent. Might be worth it to dredge back up the thread! (Of course, I dont know who all's still been following it since we found out it was a fan site. I havent been over there in a couple months.)

At the numbers when it was the "real life" time. Like at 2:04, 2:08, 2:15, 2:16, etc. That's when everyone would talk backwards. I got so good at reading backwards talk, LOL!

The craziest was when there was a moderator in there and he/she would make the screen go blank, then type random things in white like "You Just Jumped The Shark!!" or "KILL WALT!"

LMAO I was seriously obsessed with that site for a while. When the chat went down I'd be like a little lost puppy or something. I'd walk around all day with a blank, deer caught in the headlights gaze. :D And then I'd be so THRILLED when it came back. My mom (I was living with her at the time) would make fun of me, "you have such a big ass grin on your face right now", hehehe :D

That's so pathetic, LOL! And we (atleast me) were SO ready to consider BSS1 a pre-TLE. I'd argue how it was the producers playing head games with us until the cows came home. That shows how much I missed LOST--I was willing to grasp at straws, no matter how thin! ;)

Of course, it was the drama with the BSS1 chat and later with the Bork chat that brought me to this point of jaded bitterness with the Lost Experience, so I suppose not all was good. :D But still it was such an awesome time that I cant help but look back at it fondly. I'm so glad this is going into the Hall of Fame cause it really deserves it. :clap:

I still think there was some kind of connection between BSS1 and the producers of Lost. It wasn't an "Official" connection, obviously, but I still suspect that TPTB were messing around with the internet, trying to see what might work with the Lost fans. LE seems to be the official result of their messing with us. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:p
