I loved the way they didn't show desmond's face until after jack's flashbacks, added to mysteriousness of desmond. Very interesting episode.

This was not one of the better episodes in my opinion. Oh! It's been so long since I've watched Lost and participated in the forum, cause the premier for this ep was last night. I've missed it so much. Anyhoo, I could think of a million other ways to start the season, like explaining some things! Ok, so we know what's in the hatch, but what about all the other question and...why was it Jack-centric? I get that his the main character/ hero but they should have started with the central theme of everyone on the island, like in the pilot.

Sorry. Glad to have gotten that off my chest *end rant*

Brilliant episode. I'm not picking favourites because trying to do that would drive me insane. Therefore i voted Great. Living in Australia had its down sides because all your forum-friends were watching season 2 and you weren't!!! But it was a great start after 5 months of waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and- i think you get it.

But i bet you didn't know that the wait the US had between season 1 and 2 was shorter than the wait Australia had.

Yes! Finally! I've been trying to download the Lost 2nd Season eps for weeks now and was not being able to. But now I've finally got them working, and in HD. This episode was killer. The confrontation between Jack and Locke was great. Shannon seeing Walt in the jungle was also sweet because it gave Shannon something to do(she's been sitting out for a long time).

It's going to take some time to get used to whats in the hatch. I mean they went from surviving to having like their own little apartment. That's crazy.

Desmond seems like a cool new character. The only problem I had with this episode is that it's very noticable that they changed the hatch to a bigger one. I guess that's because the hatch went from a prop to a setting but still...

Great Episode and start of a season.

It was'nt a brillieant episode it showed us what was in the hatch before they even got down there so there was no surprise when Jack went down there to look for Kate and Locke. And I knew when jack met Desmond it would be him in the hatch, how more obvious it could it be it always turns out like that.

I thought the beggining when it showed Desmond doing stuff in the hatch. I thought it was somebodies flashback.:confused: How stupid am I.

The long awaited episode.

The 4 minute opener was brilliant, one of tv's best moments. The music - everytime i listen to it - in the scene gives me goosebumps.

Intelligent way to introduce the hatch.

However, after the introduction, the episode slows down. Jack and Locke has an arguement about the hatch, weather to go down or not.

Although this arguement was well written, I excepted Locke to 'jump in' instantly. He didn't, and that caused the episode to slow down even more.

There was a nice surprise - Shannon seeing Walt. Nobody believes her, but she's sure what she saw was real. Good piece of mystery.

This episode is a Jack-back, where we learn how he got to know his wife, Sarah. We find out how he cured her. Although the flashback was kind of slow and we already knew the outcome, the ending was surprising.

At the very end of the episode, Locke and Kate decide to go down the hatch.
When Jack finds that out, he decides to go down aswell, because of Kate.

Once again we see the hatch, and the man inside. Desmond, who's not unknown for Jack. But who's Desmond really, and what's the hatch for...? No answers for these. Yet.

Overally this was an exciting episode, pretty 'dark'. But still, could have been better.
