Anyone find it funny/interesting that when sawyer saw the island, he said "we're home"

Yeah, but he said it with a lot of sarcasm, I thought.

Maybe some sarcasm, but I think he was relieved to find land instead of the prospect of being stranded on a piece of raft in the middle of the ocean with sharks.

Yeah I Thought It Was Pretty Funny.

It almost sounded like an adminission that the island is where they belong now. Like he doesn't think they will be getting on the insland.

I thought he sounded kind of emotional. And after he said it my first thought was...
Sawyer is never getting off that island. Ever.
I thought Josh's delivery was right on - incredulous/poignant/and a touch of sarcasm.

yeah like he sounded semi-serious with a little sarcasm maybe..but it all sounded like he meant they aren't supposed to leave, destiny taking over

Maybe he is slowly becoming attached the the place. Awwww.... Actually, I agree that it was probably just relief of seeing land after spending the night on a small piece of debri in the ocean.

I agree, Josh did a great job with the tone of that line.

I know what you mean, it was almost like he knew that they weren't supposed to get rescued that way, like they had more unfinished business on that island.
Plus I'm sure just like everyone else is saying, that he'd rather be on that crazy island than be stuck on a raft with hungry sharks and a bleeding shoulder.

You mean off the island? In any case I agree with you that he's resigned to the idea of not getting rescued.

I agree with that too.

I think that he is realizing that he is never getting off that rock.

personally i prefer a crazy mysterious island where "others" are coming after you and there is a gigantic robot monster than knocks down forests than drifting in endless ocean on a broken raft with jaws or whatever swimming underneath you.

Let's face it, Sawyer's well on his way to becoming a bunky, huggable teddy bear. The initial 'Well, would you look at that...' was loaded with sarcasm, but the 'We're home' part was pure emotion.
And yes, I detected a bit of fatalism too.

i think it was more emotional, because he may have been thinking he would die or never see land again

All I know is that if I were on that island, I would've ran straight into his arms and knocked him down, happy that he was 'home.'
Yes I love him. So what?

I agree that Sawyer was accepting that they just weren't supposed to get off that dang island yet. It was emotional, with a hint of sarcasm, but most of all-acceptance. *struggles to hold back from tying Skate related ideas into post*

I took it as Sawyer accepting his fate. Now the raft is gone, what other chance did they have?

yep, I heard defeat and relief in his voice.

It was a wonderful Sawyer moment. Give that man a hug.
