Eggs @ hatch?

I was just wondering, in episode one you see Desmond eating eggs and the later in 202 you see he's got a stack of food. Well, to eat eggs, they've got to be fresh, right? How does he get fresh eggs?

Im quite possibly not the first one to discover this but I'd just like to know.

Naw really, I wonder where the eggs come from. Since there was a pantry with food products, is it possible has a freig' with cold food products as well?

peaches makes sense - now back in the early 80's idiots like rocky ate raw eggs - people arent so stupid nowadays, well for the most part they arent .. PLUS the poweder is most likely a protien poweder becuase meats cant preserve that long, so no need for raw eggs unless you want the niacin (I think) to shoot big loads

It was in the opening scene of season 2, when Desmond wakes up and makes his shake in the blender. I thought they were eggs at first too, but after re-watching the episode I think they are canned peaches or some other fruit.

I thought it was eggs. I assumed at the time that he has some form of cold storage down there. But I guess eggs wouldn't keep for decades even in the fridge. If he doesn't have chickens (!) maybe it was peaches. And all of this is pointless blathering since someone is going to watch the ep and tell us the truth any minute now...
