Is that Hurley's box company?

(apologies if this was covered - search doesn't seem to be working right now)

Yeah, I think that was covered in Season One. Locke seems to know Hurley's real name without ever having been told.

Yeah, but was it confirmed before now? I don't think so...

(steal MY thunder, will you! )

We've seen 27 episodes, each 43 mins long. They have been on the island 40 days and we see 43mins of this per episode.

Its not like they have much else to do except talk..how can you be so certain that no other conversations take place when the viewers aren't watching.

Maybe the director/producer just presumed people would use common sense and figure out things happen when we are not watching, and maybe Locke and Hugo held a conversation where his real name cropped up.

Maybe its so insignificant that they didn't think they would have to show Hugo "Hurley" Reyes give Locke his full name on the basis that it really doesn't matter.

Sorry, but I hate it when people keep mentioning this fact like we see "all and everything" thats supposed to be happening on the island.

No, it was never stated that he owned the box company.

Sure it was, when he met his accountant in Season 1.

The accountant talks about an accident, a fire I think, at one of Hurley's shoe companys, then mentions the box company.

He owns *A* box company, they never say that it is the same one Locke worked for. It probably is but it is never out right said it is his company on the show.

They said he owned a box company in Fresno and it was doing 'very well'. Locke told Hurley during the 'census' that he was from Fresno. He then told Boone that he worked at a box company and he mentioned it again tonight. It was never clearly stated but it was implied.

Re-read my post, that is exactly what I said minus the word Fresno :-/

Ok yeah, maybe stuff does happen on the island that we don't see, but everything we do see is usually very significant. And maybe you should re-watch the end of the finale to see how Hurley reacts to Locke calling him Hugo - bewilderment, he even says "who me?"

I believe locke is seen in Hurley's episode. Hurley is being interviewed at his box company and locke is seen in the background. I am amost positive of this if anyone haqs the epi and can check.

When Locke tells Boone what he does in the "real world", Locke says he is regional collections manager or whatever for a box company. And then he adds:

"They make boxes."

Hurley's conversation with his accountant goes the same way and he says the exact same thing:

"They make boxes."

No, it is not said explicitly, just like most of the other apparent connections. It's implicit.

I was adding detail for those who may not have seen it or who may not know. I wasn't second guessing you, relax.

It wasn't Fresno, was it? Wasn't it Tustin?

It was Tustin. I just rewatched all of Season 1 since the DVDs came out.

Also hurley does tell 1 person his real name just before he says he is going to do a cencus. I think it was jack tho. He say we need a cencus and that Hurley isnt even his real name, its a nickname and his real name is Hugo. So along with locke knowing his real name from his old job, Jack could have told him.

I think it'd be cool if Locke worked at Hurley's box factory, but are we sure he even worked in a box factory? All we know is that he was in that toy store working there when he had hair. It just seems like a fake job, cause when he tells Boone he works at a box company Boone kinda shakes off the idea, can't remember what he says.

Well, Locke has said that he worked at a box factory twice now: once to Boone and once to Desmond and Kate. That doesn't prove he worked there, but at least it's the story he likes to tell. I'm not exactly sure what the company he worked at in "Walkabout" did, does anyone know for sure? It was a desk job.

I think the idea of the character of Locke is that his past was mundane and boring and now it is full of adventure and faith, so it seems pretty likely that he actually did work there.

Walkabout was the box company because it happened right before the crash. I don't think he could do the toy store thing being paralyzed. He could be a Wal-Mart greeter.

of course he was at the box company before the walkabout/crash. He was at the toy store years ago when he could walk. that was when he gave his father his kidney. he had been in a wheelchair for years before the crash, at least thats what he told the guide for the walkabout.
So yes he actually worked at a box company, and no he was no longer at the toy store.
