Each to their own i guess but i thought S2 Premiere was amazing. There have been loads of far fetched programmes that have ran for MANY season's and had huge followings, The X Files and Buffy to name but a few. LOST i believe will be one of those shows that although it may be weird it will always have a dedicated fanbase.

I was going to call it quits if they didn't give us what was down the hatch the first show, which they did. In fact, right out of the gate, and rather well IMO. So I'm plugged in for the rest of the season. I think they handled it perfectly, showing us what was down there but in a way that keeps us asking questions. Can they keep the quality up, I wonder?

I agree. I mean the first second showed us what is in the hatch. The best Season premire ever on a show!!!

I'm never gonna stop watching, if for no other reason than I want to see what's up with all these mysteries and if they ever get off the damn island!

I think it's funny that some people consider the underground shelter thing a bit too far fetched, considering the other things we've seen up to this point.
I guess polar bears charging through tropical jungles aren't all that extraordinary. ;)

LOL- I totally agree! ;)
I don't think it was too farfetched at all. I mean hatches usually do lead to something of inhabitance.

I heard the same thing today from someone about it being too "far-fetched," and not liking the season premiere. Honestly I absolutely loved it and if someone ever finds something too far-fetched in this show then it's obviously not the show for them and I have no idea why they would have watched it this long, lol.

Exactly...the "weirdness bar" was set so friggin' high from the start, that I really don't see any way that the show could jump the shark....ever.

I absolutely loved it. I know everyone has their own opinion and all though. I don't think it's far fetched at all, there are things that happen in this world (real world) that seem unthinkable, far fetched even, so I don't think that a man down a hatch is too far fetched actually.
This episode was a bit different from the others...I really missed Sawyer in this one!!
It was darker, more dramatic...fast paced. It was actually a very weird episode but I thought it was totally awesome and I'll definitely keep watching. Course I'm crazy about Lost anyway! :)

I will only stop watching if Charlie dies and Charlie is the money maker; he can't die! So... I'm never gonna stop watching Lost.

Even if it gets really bad I would probably keep watching just to see where it goes.
But so far it still kicks ass :D.

I'm more hooked on lost now than I ever was. The first show this season was perfect if you ask me. They answered enough questions to satisfy my curiosity for the week, brought in new questions and left some still unanswered. If it keeps up like this, I would never stop watching lost.

It's not a reality show, for goodness sake. It was strange and wonderful right from the start. "Monsters" stalking the island? Polar bears? French transmissions running 16 years? I don't see anything more unusual in the season opener than we've seen thus far.
I'm with TropicalBear. I'll watch to the bitter/sweet end. The only thing that would turn me off is if it ended up being someone's dream.

every series loses its audience over a while, simply because not everyone has the patience to watch every single episode - you're missing some, you're no longer into it - forget it, see the x-files
but, so far the series has an incredible amount of viewers, and there will def be a hardcore fanbase who stays until the final episode, just like with the x files

I think that's a big difference with Lost and most other shows. Using your example, x-files, I found I could watch any episode and know what was going on, I never felt like I missed part of the story because I didn't watch it last week. With Lost, it has engulfed peoples imaginations so much that we cannot let ourselves miss an episode. You better believe that if I am not going to be home when Lost is on, I have the VCR set up to tape it! haha

nothing but a death of my favourite Characters could stop me from watching LOST LOL

Even if my favorite characters die, I'd still watch to see if they showed up again- this is Lost, anything can happen!

I thought the season premiere was amazing. I was surprised that someone was living in the hatch and even more surprised to see that it was Desmond. People think THAT was far-fetched? Are they watching the same show that I am?
Anyway, I don't think anything could ever make me stop watching Lost.

I say the whole show is somewhat far-fetched, but that is why it hooked me!! I enjoy seeing something out of the ordinary. Although I'm sure you'd never find an island like this in our world, it is fun to think about and to try to unravel the mysteries. If the show became normal, then I'd quit watching.

Well I think the premiere freaked me out more than the first season combined did. And the idea that Desmond is down there...not very far-fetched. It's brilliant. And this is coming from someone who, at the end of the finale, really didn't care what was down in the hatch. And then right as the premiere started, I got annoyed whenever the scene didn't have the hatch in it. :p
This season is going to own.

The most far-fetched thing on the show, I think, is the monster, and the monster was there since the very beginning. I dont think the show has topped the monster yet. Everything else is at least semi-explainable.
