What was in the hatch?

Sorry if this has been answered already (I couldn't find it), but...

Several spoilers (and producers) said that there would be something familiar in the hatch, that it started and ended with the same letter, that it wasn't plural and wasn't the word "window". And that a main character had already seen one. Finally that we (regular people) probably went there this morning.

So has this been answered yet?

Desmond does though. And the BED thing was about another clue, something along the lines of it's three letters and some of you have been there this morning.

I don't feel this has been satisfactorily answered yet. Everyone is saying "Desmond", but it doesn't fit all of the clues. I sure as heck don't see a Desmond every day, nor was I "there" this morning. Jack has certainly seen the Dezz before, but not I.

The 3-letter word is supposed to start and end with adjacent alphabetical letters, so "bed" doesn't work (B and D are not next to each other). Man works, but doesn't fit the other things (for me anyways!)

The 7-letter word is supposed to start and end with the same letter, so Desmond works, but again doesn't fit the other clues.

Someone suggested "toilet", but this has only 6 letters. I thought of "bathtub", but I don't use my computer in the bath, so I'm not seeing it right now. I also thought of "thought", but making it work is a bit of a stretch.

I know this probably isn't the right thread for this, so I'll apologise in advance. When the person awakes to the beeping computer, they enter the "numbers" and hit execute. we hear a sound like a computer processing. Does anyone else think the sound produced sounded similar to the object (the trail of smoke making the chattering noise) Kate & Jack saw immediately prior to the security system taking Locke?

Something intersting I just noticed... if you look at the shot 2:35 into the episode just after the explosion you see a wide shot of Desmonds underground place, notice that the tape and record player is on the left and then at 2:50 we see Desmond turn the amp off or something and everything is the other way around... the tape and record player are now on the right !

It is possible that they filmed one of these shots through a mirror... maybe as a clue to support the mirror image theory that I read somewhere. What do you think ?

Starbucks isn't Plural though. The Companys name is Starbucks, not Starbuck

I don't think all the clues relate to the same thing. MAN (as in human) is something you see every day, DESMOND is a MAN.... And the three letter thing is probably BED, most people have been THERE in the morning.
