Okay, I've already seen the arguments brought up in the other "Orientation" thread and I swear if you start it here, I'll climb through your monitor and smack you all the way back to an Apple II. Fair warning.

Okay, now, about the title of this episode.. When I read it, it made me think back to school days. The first day was always referred to simply as Orientation. It was when you figured out all your classes and learned who's who.. So, running with that, I thought this was episode would cover Walt's "orientation" with The Others.

Anyone else think it may be something along these lines?

Who is this episode centered around, anyway? Does anyone know? I'm sorry if I overlooked it somewhere.. The boards are a little messy with all the misplaced and locked threads.

Of course some of the episode titles have more literal meanings, such as "Whatever the case may be".

So "Orientation" could refer to the literal orientation of something, eg horizontal, vertical, perhaps something to do with the hatch being below ground?

Or it could be The people in the hatch getting aquainted with eachother, since Episode three seems like its centered around the people on the island..
Nice usage of Orientation though, I'd havenever thought of it ^^

Yeah I agree, I think it will be about people getting to know more about their own situation, and learn more about the island, the new people, and it's mysteries.

But I have a feeling there may be something regarding the literal meaning of "Orientation" in the ep.

Perhaps the tail section of the plane is stuck in the ground sticking up, in a strange 'orientation'

Could it possibly go back to the mural depictions in the hatch? If it's some sort of map, it could reveal the orientation of "Craphole Island"... I'm stretching, I know..

Yeah orientation to me meant map reading and exploring from school. from promo pics I am certain it is the raftaways meeting the survivors of the tail. Perhaps they try and get back to Jack and co. and have to figure out a way back?

i dont know if this is a spoiler because it was in the newspaper but i'll tag it anyway

episode three involves the back of the plane's survivors, and they end up 'competeing' with the front tribe a la the show survivor. i didnt know what to think of this

Yeah, I've heard the tailend survivors have had it much rougher than our group. I get the feeling the two "tribes" are not going to be like "hey good to see you, let's join forces". There are going to be issues. Can't wait!

Isn't it Locke-centered? Great speculations ;)

I've heard that this will be Locke centric.

Since Ep 2 pics have already been shwon at the spoilers section, I think Ep3 is going to be Hatch-Centric episode. Maybe some more stuff about Desmond.

What did the tail end survivors have from their portion of the plane? Did our survivors get all of the luggage, food, supplies? Just wondering..

Maybe the tail section got most of the animals that were on the plane. There had to be more than just Vincent in where they keep animals.

Whatever they got I don't think it was much or very good stuff. I hear they have had a much worse time than our group of survivors. Details of their time will probably come up in the later episode entitled "The Other 48 Days".

The tail end people are probably faring better than the other survivors because they've got access to the cargo hold, where the majority of the luggage is kept.

The promo pics for upcoming episodes seem to depict the tail end survivors as a very aggressive group, armed with primitive weaponry. *shiver* Scary. Did you see the old guy's spiked club?

Ana had a pistol in her belt loop, though, so their weaponry can't be that primitive.

Yeah, but is that her gun? Or did she confiscate it from Sawyer? ... well, if Sawyer was able to hold onto his gun, that is..

He was, you can see it in earlier promo pics, when they first wash up on the beach or whatnot.

I won't post anything here, but if you want to know what was shown in the Canadian preview for next week, check out the spoilers section, title the same as this thread.

Episode three is Locke centric and I think that we are going to see a lot from the hatch and also from the tail survivors.

I think it's a bad assumption to assume that the armed people we saw at the end of episode 2 and the preview for episode 3 are survivors from the back of the plane. I think it's more likely that they are part of the Others, the same people who have been on the island for a while and who stole Walt. If you watch the preview, you will see the raftees encountering Ana-Lucia in a 'prison cell'. Since we know that Ana-Lucia WAS in the back of the plane, this makes me believe that her captors are from a different group, the others. However, it is possible that some of the tail section survivors have been infected with the disease and joined up with the Others.

i will coment just the part of ana lucia in the prison cell.
It can have 2 meanings.Either she is a captive just like mike, sawyer and jin.
Or she is part of that group and was sent there to get information.Only these 2 things sounds and looks plausible.

Could she be part of that group but "in trouble"? Like Jin had been with the main group, maybe? *shrug* I wish Wednesday would get here already.
