View Full Version : So do they get showers and smoothies now?

Lol.. Okay, I've vowed to focus only on the trivial this season, because I've been burned by heavy philosphical speculation with Alias that went nowhere and was a waste of time. So I'm going to revel in the unimportant. :p

We saw that the hatch contained a bathroom with a shower and various electrical devices, including a blender, of all things. So, do you think the castaways will get to actually use any of that stuff (assuming Desmond isn't an evil bastard they have to avoid)? How will that change the way they live on the island? The place looked big enough to shelter everyone - maybe not comfortably, but at least better than nothing (especially for monsoon season.)

But doesn't that kind of take some of the fun out of the island concept? They're not really "in the wild" as much anymore. Is this a contingency plan in case they can't film in Hawaii in the future? I wonder how much time the survivors will actually spend down in that thing? I heard they were supposed to explore more of the island this season.. but I was assuming they meant the exterior part.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but there are so many threads, it's hard to tell what they're all about, even with the search function.

I think Desmond will be a friend 'cause it was suggested in an earlier spoiler that they would end up living inside somewhere if i remember rightly. I think Desmond will do his best to accomadate the other survivors. I guess maybe he won't be a baddy after all although that blows the idea he brought them all together theory out the water. I think he is just like them trapped there and stumbled upon the bunker. I also think we will get a Desmond eppy later this season :D I do like him he seems a cool guy at least in the flashback.

Yea, showers and protein-shakes for everybody.

Well, Desmond's gotta die, right? Cuz Jack, Kate and Locke can't just let him in the hatch and be on their merry ways and have some guy living down there. Some shit's gotta go down where Desmond threatens the life of Kate or something and Jack blows his head off (aww, sweet jate moment). Anyway, that way the writers could get away with keeping everyone on the island in the dark about who the hell Desmond actually is and keep the questions going. If that's the case, I'm guessing the islanders would go down there and explore.

But I'm probably totally wrong about this and Desmond will live in harmony with everyone else, recounting all the little times they spent together in their previous lives.

LOL...I was so thinking the same thing... I think something will get seriously messed up with the hatch and they won't be able to live down there... I mean...what would Lost be if there wasn't a survival bit... And if Desmond can really have access to the mainland, then everyone can get off. Also...did you all notice his stockpile of guns? Holy CRAP! They could use those to defend themselves from the others...

My first thought after I found out someone was living in the hatch was, cool- hot running water and electricity. My 2nd was- the Lost-mates will think they've gone to heaven. I can so see Shannon taking over.

Production and cost wise it would certainly be a benefit to have more interior scenes.

And killing anyone who doesn't let her be first in line.

I wouldn't one 30+ people coming into my house and using all my equipment and stuff. I doubt Desmond will either.

Oh my God... If they all move in there, it'll be like the most chaotic episode of The Real World ever!! :rotflol: Someone seriously has to do a humor fic based on that... maybe I will.

JACK: This is the true story...
KATE:..of 48 strangers...
LOCKE:..picked to live in a hatch...
SAWYER:...to have their lives taped...
SHANNON:..to find out what happens when people stop being polite...
CHARLIE:..and start getting real.
EVERYONE: The Real World: The Hatch!!!! :D

LMAO. Awesome. :D

But I'm hoping that Desmond is an enemy so that they'll still live in the wild. 'Cause that's the fun part about Lost.

I think that Sayid, Charlie, and the people on the outside will explore the exterior and Locke, Jack, and Kate will explore the interior.

Well, I want them to still live in the wild, but I don't want Desmond to die or be a bad guy. Because, I kind of like Desmond. I don't know why. I just do. I mean, if he's evil/was working with Ethan- forget it, I'll hate him. But I REALLY want him to be a good guy. I'm sure he's somewhat insane, like Danielle. But I don't care. I just want him to be a good guy.

That*s what I*m confused about. Desmond is in there for a reason. He must have contact with the outside world, through his computer or any of the other technology he possesses. But this can*t mean the end of the island... because, frankly, that*s what makes LOST... lost. I don*t get it!

Shannon will take Head of Household and will nominate Scott for eviction. The following week the monster is ticked because he wasn't invited to play and goes on a killing rampage. The only one left is Danielle because she was smart enough to stay in her corner of the jungle talking to the whispers in the woods.

My guess is that the hatch has a self destruct on it and Desmond will go ballistic because Jack sprained his ankle again while trying to climb out of the hatch. He hits "the button" and the survivors are forced to run for their lives.

Hmmm, perhaps...no I will stop now

Lol, I can see Big Brother 7: Lost. Never heard of the real world though, what channel was that on?

Anywho, I bet they'll find a map of the hatch(es) during their visit with Desmond.

And killing anyone who doesn't let her be first in line.

That coupled with the idea of fresh fruit smoothies-oh yeah this is Shannon Rutheford's dream come true.

Oh, and Leah Kate, methinks you should take some time away from your other fics and do a Real World Hatch parody.
