Jack or Locke???

i dont know if there is already a forum about this so let me know if there is.if there was a power struggle between locke and jack who would you want to be the leader?

I dont know. Ive been asked that before... but i think theyre kind of different. Locke seems kind of crazy but I would agree with most of his desicions... like going to the hatch... then again Jacks little bit more saner (<- that a word?).... but hes sometimes too careful...
but to lead the whole group and looking for everyones best interest.. id pick Jack... Locke would be more... fend yourself type...

Locke...after last night... It clicked with me...jack is really not the kind of leader i would want.

For John Locke - he knows how to hunt, he knows his way around the jungle, more of a survivalist, and plus he is the most level headed non emotional person on the show so he is going to make decisions based on what needs to happen not on what he wants to happen or what his emotions tell him to do.

For Jack - he is a doctor and that has come into play nearly every episode it seems, that is the most valuable service anyone can give that is on the island. He is emotionally comforting. As a whole, he is a tad more trustworthy in my mind because he complys to the group and not always just to himself.

Locke to me seems a bit... unpredictable. We still don't know what side he'd be most beneficial to and he's so quick to contradict Jack. A leader would want what's best for the team... and not just himself.

So my vote is for Jack. Sure, he's not the greatest leader in the world but he is the best option on the island. I guess we'll have to see what happens when Ana Lucia comes around.

Jack said it early last season, either they learn to work together or they'll die alone. Both Jack and Locke have qualities of leadership that, in one person, would make a super leader. But neither Locke nor Jack really trusts the others. And Locke going off and doing his own thing like he did in this episode, where his actions are a big F-U to Jack, do nobody any good.

I really don't think they work well together they have a personality clash which is demonstrated in their many differing opinions on things.

Jack, he acts for the group well being instead of some particular interests, he's reliable and even if sometimes does mistakes he's always always trying to do good for everyone...Locke is in his own quest and as he said in Exodus, sacrifices sometimes has to be made, and i'm sorry but i would never rely on a person who thinks that way, i want to be leaded by the person who i know is looking for the general well being..

Jack, hands down. Even though he may not want to be the leader all the time, he is a great one. His speeches always calm everyone.

and he carried Boone back to the island because....he was befriending and treating Walt as a human because.....he's selfish? sure.....

they are both great leaders though
